Nancy Lynn Elliott, 57, died Saturday, June 18, 2011
Nancy Lynn Elliott, 57, of Mooresville, Mo., died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.
Nancy was born July 13, 1953 in Chillicothe, Mo., the daughter of Orvil and Bonnie (Williams) Mann. On Dec. 23, 1973 she married Terry L. Elliott in Mooresville, Mo. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1980.
She was a Southwest High School 1971 graduate. She also earned her Bachelors and Masters degree in education at Missouri Western. She was a teacher and a grant writer for the Chillicothe R-II schools for over 25 years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mooresville, Mo. Nancy received many awards throughout her teaching career such as: the District Conservation Teacher of the Year, Disney Teacher of the Year, Water Quality Teacher of the Year from the Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Teacher of Excellence, Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year, and Missouri Federation of Teachers Teacher of the Year. She was also a member of the National Science Teachers Association, Missouri State Teachers Association and was one of 20 teachers across the nation that was named to the USA today All-USA Teacher Team. She brought in over 4 million dollars of revenue for the school district through grants.
Nancy enjoyed playing with her grandkids, doing crafts, baking cakes for the kids’ parties, sewing, working in the yard and garden and helping others.
She is survived by her father, Orvil Mann, Mooresville, Mo.; one son, Bradley Elliott, Kearney, Mo.; one daughter, Kathy Siler and husband Blake, Riverside, Mo.; one brother, Mike Mann and wife Dorothy, Mooresville, Mo.; two sisters, Brenda Estabrook and Toi Swartz and husband Jeff, both of Mooresville, Mo.; two grandchildren, Luci and Elliott Siler, Riverside, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her husband.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. A scheduled family visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., from 5 to 6 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

William Hartwig, died Monday, June 13, 2011
William Ivan (Bill) Hartwig, 87, Bogard, Mo., died Monday, June 13, 2011 at Carroll House in Carrollton, Mo.
Bill was born Feb. 29, 1924 in Carrollton, Mo., to Ivan Edward and Ruth Ellen (Goldsby) Hartwig. On Jan. 20, 1945 Bill married Mary Kathleen McDonough in Urmston, England. To this union, eight children were born.
Bill attended Bogard grade school and graduated in 1943 from Carrollton High School. Following graduation, Bill was drafted into the US Army and served as a Surgical Tech with the 10th Station Hospital Medical Division in England. Upon discharge, Bill farmed and operated a dairy farm. In 1962, he started with Banquet Foods and retired as a maintenance supervisor in 1986. Bill was the longest active member of the Coloma Baptist Church in Coloma, Mo., where he served as the last ordained Deacon. He was a Master Mason of Hale City Lodge # 216 and received his 50 year pin. Bill enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Bill is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of the home; eight children, Billy Hartwig, Bogard, Mo., Mary Linda Jackson and husband, Tim, Tina, Mo., Tommy Hartwig, Bogard, Mo., Bobby Hartwig and wife, Kay, Bogard, Mo., Terry Hartwig and wife, Bertie, Bogard, Mo., Keith Hartwig and wife, Debbie, Bogard, Mo., Ruth Anne Hutchinson and husband, Tim, Bogard, Mo., and David Hartwig and wife, Connie, Bogard, Mo.; one sister, Betty Austin, Carrollton, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 12 step- great-grandchildren; one step- great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Nelson and one sister, Colleen Shipp.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home, Carrollton, Mo. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 17, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Trussell officiating. Burial will be at Coloma cemetery, Coloma, Mo., with military services provided by Pence-Lovell-England Post # 1773 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Orris Eloss Johnson, 87, died Nov. 28, 2010
Orris Deloss Johnson, 87, a resident of Middleville, Mich., died Nov. 29, 2010 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Orris was born Jan. 6, 1923, the son of Orris and Genevia (Brown) Johnson.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He also worked as an electric engineer.
Orris is survived by one son, Gary White and wife Mary Anne, Westfield, Ind.; one sister, Ellen Eggleston, Middleville, Mich.; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patsy (Cain) Johnson, and a brother, Paul D. Johnson.
Inurnment will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Black Oak cemetery in Braymer, Mo., at 10 a.m.

Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. There will be no scheduled family visitation. Burial will be held in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Lindley Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 from 8 am. to 9 p.m.

Helen Pauline Lampton, 90, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010
Helen Pauline Lampton, 90, of Chillicothe, Mo., formerly of Syracuse, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at Livingston Manor Care Center in Chillicothe, Mo.
Helen Lampton was born Nov. 7, 1920 in rural Morgan County, Mo., near Syracuse the daughter of Harrison Fowler and Naomi Gulick Fowler.
She was a graduate of Syracuse High School and a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church.
Pauline was a homemaker.
Pauline is survived by a sister, Mary Jo Faubion, Moberly, Mo.; two brothers, William E. Fowler, Harrisonville, Mo., and Paul Fowler, Moberly, Mo.; two grandchildren; three-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Bobby Lampton and Ronnie Lampton and a brother, Elmer E. Fowler.
Graveside services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at Syracuse cemetery, Syracuse, Mo. There will be no visitation.

Milton “Mickey” Jones, 52, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at KU Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. A family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo., on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. Friends may call Saturday from 12 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in Edgewood cemetery, Chillicothe, Mo.

Mary “Pat” Patricia Christopher, 59, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at her residence.
Pat was born on Aug. 28, 1951 in Chillicothe, Mo., daughter of Jack P. and Mary Gladys (Reeter) Dickerson. Pat married Kenny Christopher on April 12, 1970 in Chillicothe, Mo. He survives of the home.
She was a graduate of Chillicothe High School in 1969.
Pat was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Mo.
She is survived by her daughters, Angela Case and husband Bill, Mooresville, Mo., and Mindy Maltsbarger and husband Mike, St. Joseph, Mo.; grandchildren, Tricia Ireland, St. Joseph, Mo., Cassi Ireland, Mooresville, Mo., Levi Ireland, Mooresville, Mo., Austin King, Utica, Mo., Gavin Maltsbarger, St. Joseph, Mo.; a brother, Jack Dickerson and wife Debbie, Chillicothe, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A family visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 27, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo. A private family graveside service will be held at Edgewood cemetery, Chillicothe, Mo.

Vera D. Petree, 98, a resident of Braymer, Mo., died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Golden Age Nursing Home, Braymer, Mo.
Mrs. Petree was born to John and Hattie Swindler. She married Joe Petree on Nov. 1, 1936.
She and Joe lived most of their life on their farm north of Braymer, Mo. She worked for the Braymer Locker and at Murrain’s Grocery Store.
She is survived by daughter, Joetta Dempsey, Maryville, Mo.; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, John, Kenneth, Clayton, Loomis, Vernon Swindler; and sisters, Leah Shouse, Norine Michael and twin sister Veva Birch.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Braymer United Methodist Church. A family visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service at the church. In state service will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Pitts Funeral Home in Braymer, Mo.

Rick Arlen Deyoe, 35, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in Chillicothe, Mo.
Rick was born on Nov. 28, 1975 in Torrance, Calif., the son of Ricky Arlen and Lorraine Andrea (Telles) Swaffar. He married Peggy Joann Thompson on May 21, 2008 in Paso Robles, Calif.
Rick worked as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Deyoe, Chillicothe, Mo.; parents, Lorraine and Stan Deyoe, Jamesport, Mo.; sons, Ricky Deyoe, Paso Robles, Calif., Michael Deyoe, Paso Robles, Calif., and Troy Deyoe, Chillicothe, Mo.; daughters, Kiana Deyoe, Chillicothe, Mo., and Trajon Deyoe, Lamar, Ark.; grandfather, Jay Deyoe, Chillicothe, Mo.; brothers, John Deyoe, Murrieta, Calif., and James Deyoe, Costa Mesa, Calif.; sister, Jennifer Sain, Riverside, Calif.; two aunts; six uncles and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Arlen Swaffer; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Jennie Telles; and paternal grandparents, Chuck and Dorothy Swaffar.
Funeral services will be held at Jamesport Baptist Church, Jamesport, Mo., on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. Family visitation will be held at Jamesport Baptist Church, Jamesport, Mo., on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday. Burial will be held in Memorial cemetery, Jamesport, Mo.

Hugh Edwin “Hoot” Foley 82, a resident of Braymer, Mo., died Friday, May 13, 2011 in Braymer, Mo.
Hoot was born Jan. 30, 1929 in Braymer, Mo., the son of Benjamin Harrison Foley and Mary Mable Zumbrunnen. On Sept. 17, 1948 he married Mary Joan North in Chillicothe, Mo.
He was a graduate of Braymer High School.
He served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for the City of Braymer as the Water Superintendent and also served as the Chief of the Braymer Fire Department. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Braymer, Mo. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Foley; daughter, Beverly Jo Null and husband Roger, Breckenridge, Mo.; son, Ronald Dale Foley and wife Joyce, Stockton, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Judy Foley, Braymer, Mo.; sister, Ruby Beth Radke, Overland Park, Kan.; grandchildren, Staci Lynn Wood and husband Kenneth, Dustan Shane Null and wife Rhonda, Sandy Jo Clark and husband Jeff, James Boone Foley and wife Lisa, Jessica Michelle Hagan and husband Chad, and Joshua Morgan Foley; great-grandchildren, Kendra Wood, Tyler Wood, Kaylea Wood, Katie Wood, Daniel Null, Garrett Null, Kelsie Quinn, Christian Wells, Michael Clark, Shannon Clark, Tiffany Clark, Deanna Foley and Jaymie Foley; and great-great grandson, Joe Quinn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Donnie Gene Foley and brothers John Benjamin Foley and James Coen Foley and great-grandchild Danielle Clark.
