James "Richard" Luper
(June 18, 1955 - July 21, 2011)

James Richard Luper, 56, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri. He was born June 18, 1955, in Jefferson City, Missouri, a son of the late Gilbert F. and Edna (Kesterson) Luper. He was a graduate of Jefferson City High School.
Richard was a longtime construction worker and worked at various companies in Jefferson City and Sedalia. He was a veteran of the United States Army from 1971 to 1972, and served at Ft. Leonard Wood and Germany. Richard enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
Richard is survived by three daughters: Katina Luper-Daniels of Jefferson City; Hollie Luper-Kribbs of Columbia; Tanya Luper-Rains of Jefferson City; three brothers: Dickie Luper, Eddie Luper and Stanley Uptegrove; seven sisters: Francis Burridge, Viola Uptegrove-Richardson, Mary Calwell, Rita Belt, Velda Morgon, Bonnie Scheperle and Valerie Welsh; five grandchildren: Austin Jackson, William Davis, Jaden Thompson, Emma Kribbs and Aden Kribbs; his longtime companion: Viola Edgar and her children and grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Gilbert & Edna Luper; and two granddaughters: Savannah Daniels and Bailey Daniels on January 15, 2009.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to The Family of Richard Luper in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street; Jefferson City, Missouri 65109.

David Hall Cundiff
(November 16, 1941 - June 2, 2011)

David Hall Cundiff, 69, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011, in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born November 16, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Oney and Mary Cundiff.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Nancy (Dwiggins) Cundiff; one daughter: Loretta “Lori” Cundiff; one son: Kenneth Richard Cundiff; one step-son: Paul Dwiggins; one step-daughter: Kimberly Dwiggins; grandchildren, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Private Services will be held by the family. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street; Jefferson City, MO 65109.

Nicholas Scott Lutman

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Nicholas Scott Lutman, infant son of Gary Scott Lutman and Jennifer Dawn Ridgeway, died Thursday, August 10, 2006, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas.

Alma Jean Reynolds
(July 2, 1942 - June 12, 2011)

Alma Jean Reynolds, 68, of Chamois died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at her home. She was born July 2, 1942 in Chamois, a daughter of Arthur and Nancy “Margie” (McKinney) Walker. She was a 1961 graduate of Chamois High School. On September 2, 1961, Jean was united in marriage in Morrison to Raymond Dale Reynolds, who preceded her in death on February 14, 2011.
Jean worked in Hermann for a short time, but most of her life was spent as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and being outdoors. Jean was always alongside Raymond working on the farm, riding the four-wheeler and tending to their cattle. Raymond and Jean would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year on September 2nd.
She is survived by one son, Michael D. Reynolds of Chamois; two daughters: Rhonda J. Ousley and husband Keith of Chamois, Myrna R. Tucker and husband Shelby of Jefferson City; three sisters: Delma Seifert and husband Gary of Morrison, Judy Owens and husband Mark of Linn, Pat Baker and husband Waymon of Brazito; three grandchildren: Kelsey Ousley, Kimberly Ousley, Cheri Kirsch; and two great grandchildren. Jean had a special love for her two devoted pets Skippy and Buddy.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Chamois Church of Christ, where funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Gary Ruff officiating. Interment will follow in the Ferguson Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family of Alma Jean Reynolds. Arrangements are under the direction of MEYER-HILKE-MILLARD Funeral Home, 107 S. Market St., , Chamois, Missouri.

David Neil Miller

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - David Neil Miller, 47, of Holden died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden. Burial will follow in the Dresden Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Chapel.

Rosetta Caroline Bates
(May 23, 1935 - August 14, 2011)

Rosetta Caroline Bates, 76, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2011, at St. Mary’s Health Center. She was born May 23, 1935, in Vienna, Missouri, a daughter of the late William and Helen (Terwilliger) Weider. On December 9, 1955, she was united in marriage to Oliver Glen Bates, who preceded her in death on July 29, 2008.
Rosetta attended school in Vienna and Jefferson City. She worked for several years at S.H. Kress, before dedicating herself to her family and home. Rosetta enjoyed working in her garden and flower beds. She always kept the wild birds well fed and cared for. All the while, she took great delight in her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Rosetta is survived by four sons: Glenn Bates (wife Teresa), Raymond Bates (wife Debra), Darrel Bates (wife Patty), Steve Bates (wife Lisa); three daughters: Sharon Ragsdale, Janet Kinard (husband Raymond), and Darla Bates; seven grandchildren: Jerry (wife Lillian), Denise, Jesse, Amanda, Ben, Sloane and Brock; six great-grandchildren: Zack, Nolan, Hunter, Allison, James and Audrey; two sisters: Mary Allen (husband Jim) and Helen Kleffner. She was also preceded in death by a son: Bryan David Bates; nine brothers and one sister.
Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Pastor Howard Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Charity of the Donor’s Choice. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street; Jefferson City, Missouri 65109.

Frances Bernice Sexton
(February 24, 1922 - July 25, 2011)

Frances Bernice Sexton, 89, of Fulton, was called home by God on Monday, July 25, 2011. She was born February 24, 1922 in Englewood, Missouri, the daughter of Harry Sexton and Alice (Logan) Sexton. She was a graduate of Douglas High School.
Her walk with Christ started at the early age of twelve when she was baptized at Log Providence Baptist Church by Reverend Will Coleman. She was an usher; a member of the national and state usher boards; president of the Mount Carmel District Usher Board for ten years. Bernice was proud to be a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society.
Bernice was a person who loved others. She took time for others, caring for the sick, cooking for those who were hungry and welcoming people in her home. She never met a stranger and was referred to by many other names; sister, auntie and friend.
She leaves to celebrate her home-going one step daughter: Barbara West of Columbia; one sister: Darleen Douglas of Fulton; one brother: Robert Douglas of Fulton; close friends and caregivers: Kay Strotten and Lana Petty of Fulton and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was loved by all.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Millard Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 4, at 11:00 a.m. at the Millard Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles R. Jackson and Reverend James Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of MILLARD FAMILY Funeral Home, 12 E. Ash St.

Barbara J. Reynolds

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Barbara Joan Reynolds, 77, Warrensburg, died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, following a lengthy illness.
Barbara Joan Fitterling was born March 22, 1931 in Johnson County, near Warrensburg, the daughter of Clyde Fitterling and Mary Lockard Fitterling. She was united in marriage to Everett B. Reynolds on May 23, 1948 in Warrensburg. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Barbara was a charter member of Northside Christian Church in Warrensburg.
Survivors include her husband, Everett of the home; a son, Don Reynolds and his wife, Kathy and a daughter, Mary Jo Trotter and her husband, Loren, all of Warrensburg; a sister, Clydine Bruch of Warrensburg; a brother, Jim Fitterling of Kansas City; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by a grandson.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Reverend Sid Tiller of Northside Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg.
Pallbearers will be Josh Morton, Justin Ward, Mike Bruch, Gary Reynolds, Charlie Reynolds and Mark Reynolds.
The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home, one hour prior to service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Show-Me-Christian Youth Home in LaMonte or the Alzheimer’s Association.
