A Funeral Mass for James 'Jim" Edward Parr, 76, of Wentzville, was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at St. Theodore Church at Flint Hill. Fr. Gary Vollmer officiated. Interment was in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at the Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville.
Mr. Parr passed away Feb. 7, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield.
Born Feb. 3, 1934 in Wentzville, he was the son of Alvois and Rose Parr. Survivors include his wife, Jane Parr, of Wentzville; five daughters, Monica Niederer and husband, John, of Wentzville, Nancy Groeblinghoff and husband, Larry, of St. Paul, Norma Lloyd and husband, Phil, of New Bloomfield, Laurie Schulte and husband, Jim, of Moscow Mills and Ann Wilmes and husband, Neil, of Moscow Mills; one brother, Urban Parr and wife, Darlene; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Parr worked as a concrete truck driver. He was a member of Teamsters Local 682, St. Theodore Catholic Church, Cattlemen's Association and Knights of Columbus in Flint Hill.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society or St. Theodore Church Building Fund may be made in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385.

Graveside services for Braidyn Matthew Williams were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes officiated. Braidyn was stillborn Saturday morning, January 23, 2010, at St. John's Mercy Hospital, in St. Louis, the son of Matthew Williams and Heather Conoyer.
He is survived by his parents; his paternal grandparents, Tim and Zella Williams, of Wise, VA, and Armando and Glenda Molina, of Winfield; his maternal grandparents, Doug and Tammy Conoyer, of Foley; his great-grandparents, Allen and Debbie Reece, of Troy, Jimmy and Carlina Williams, of Norton, VA, Bob and Carol Lowry, of Elsberry, Casey and Carol Conoyer, of St. Peters, and Phil and Tanya Crownover of Troy; four uncles, Kyle Conoyer, TJ Williams, Chris Williams and Bryce Williams; several great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the family of Braidyn Williams in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47; P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.

Martha Vivian Allen, 90, of Hawk Point, followed the angels home on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Silex Community Care.
She was born on March 9, 1919, a daughter of the late Charles P. and Martha L. Hartley-Allen.
She is survived by several cousins. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Home/ Hawk Point Chapel. Interment was held at Hawk Point City Cemetery. Officiating was Pastor Pete Gounis.
Memorials may be made to the Hawk Point City Cemetery or Community Loving Care Hospice, in care of Kemper-Marsh-Millard Family Funeral Chapel; P. O. Box 222, Troy, MO.

Jesse Joseph Trower, 78, of Jefferson City died Monday, January 18, 2010 at St. Mary's Health Center.
He was born March 4, 1931, in Bellflower, a son of William Sterling and Margueritte Parsons Trower.
He graduated as valedictorian from Bellflower High School in 1949 and received his B.A. degree from Westminster College, Fulton, Missouri, in 1953. He received his Bachelor of Divinity from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 1956, and was ordained as a minister of the Presbyterian Church on June 3, 1956 by the Presbytery of Kirk.
He was married on September 1, 1956 to Golda Louise Winders, who preceded him in death. They had four children, Samuel Trower of New York, New York; Sara Trower of Lawrence, Kansas; Stephen Trower of Jefferson City, Missouri; and Suzanna Trower King of Albany, Ohio.
In 1966, after serving as pastor of the Memphis, Missouri Presbyterian Church, he moved to Jefferson City where he became Regional Director for CROP (Church World Service/Community Rural Overseas Program) in which capacity he served for approximately 30 years until retirement. In 1966 he also became pastor of Salem Presbyterian Church, Hope, Missouri, where he served until his death.
He served as Stated Clerk of the Missouri Union Presbytery for 28 years from 1961-1997. In 1992 he served as Moderator of the Synod of Mid-America. In 2008, he received the John Bennett Award for Ministry in Church and Community from the Missouri School of Religion Center for Rural Ministry in recognition for his many years to Bethel Salem Presbyterian Church, Festival of Sharing, the Missouri School of Religion, and the local and global community. He was a 35 year member and a past president of Kiwanis Club of Jefferson City.
He continued his lifelong devotion to others even in death by donating his body to the University of Missouri School of Medicine for medical research.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Holmes of Washington, Iowa; brother, James Frank Trower of Pasco, Wash.; his sister Mildred Ramsey and her husband Tom of Louisville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, 324 Madison St., Jefferson City, where a celebration of his life followed
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Church World Service, 28606 Phillips St., Box 968, Elkhart, IN 46515, or Heifer International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202.

A Memorial Mass for Edward John O'Brien, 97, of Elsberry, was held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Msgr. James Hanson officiated with granddaughter, Kerry Klump providing music for the Mass. A private graveside service was held Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the O'Brien Family Cemetery near Elsberry. Mr. O'Brien passed away Friday night, February 5, 2010, at his home near Elsberry.
Born July 4, 1912, in St. Louis County, he was the son of Edward William and Maris Gertrude Moore O'Brien. He was united in marriage on June 6, 1950, at St. John & St. James Catholic Church in Ferguson to Margaret Mary Curtin. This union was blessed with twelve children: Ellen, Patricia, Edward, Bridget, Maureen, Peggy, Michael, Patrick, Donald, Sean, Brendan and Siobhan.
Farming for more than half a century and making their home in the Elsberry community since the early 1950s, Mr. & Mrs. O'Brien have been members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry for 56 years.
Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Margaret O'Brien, of Elsberry; six sons, Edward O'Brien and his wife, Connie, of Clarksville, Michael O'Brien, of Elsberry, Patrick O'Brien and his wife, Christine, of Paynesville, Donald O'Brien and his wife, Stella, of St. Paul, Sean O'Brien and his wife, Brenda, of Elsberry, and Brendan O'Brien and his wife, Donna, of Elsberry; six daughters, Ellen Schramm and her husband, Leroy, of Wentzville, Patricia Robertson and her husband, William, of Elsberry, Bridget Hummel and her husband, Chris, of Bowling Green, Maureen Wommack and her husband, David, of Silex, Peggy Carson and her husband, Ed, of Chesterfield, and Siobhan Ogle and her husband, Michael, of Wildwood; 38 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves one brother: Charles O'Brien and his wife, Nancy, of O'Fallo; three sisters, Lenora Mason and her husband, William, of Florissant, Madonna Gould and her husband, Alfred, of Chesterfield, and Patricia Wilkinson of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be made to the J.R. Palmer Memorial Library or to Masses in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.

A Funeral Mass for Lorna Bognar, 77, of Moscow Mills, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at the St. Theodore Catholic Church in Flint Hill. Father Gary Vollmer will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at the Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville.
Mrs. Bognar passed away Jan. 13, 2010, at the Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy.
Born Dec. 13, 1932 in St. Louis County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Gertrude Temke. Survivors include her husband, John Bognar, of Moscow Mills; son, John Bognar II, of Dardenne; daughters, Rebecca and husband, James Wilhite, of Dardenne Prairie and Michele and husband, Fritz Dreyer, of Warrenton; two sisters, Dolores Lesch, of Indiana and Ruth Tegtmeyer, of Florissant; and 12 grandchildren.
Bognar worked as a nurse at the Parklane Nursing and Rehab at Wentzville. She was a member of the St. Theodore Catholic Church, member of the Ladies Solidarity. She and her husband were married Sept. 15, 1956, in St. Louis.
Memorials to the St. Theodore School Building Fund may be made in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385.

Funeral services for Vincent Leon Mozier, 87, of Foley, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Sammy Lorton, pastor of Whiteside Holiness Church, officiated with burial in Corinth Cemetery near Foley.
Mr. Mozier, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Jefferson Barracks VA Nursing Home in St. Louis.
Born April 28, 1922 in St. Louis, he was the son of Efton and Lora Dell Calvin Mozier. A veteran of World War II and stationed in Iceland, he served his country in the U.S. Army from December 17, 1942, until he was honorably discharged December 3, 1945. He was also a commercial carpenter in the St. Louis area. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local in St. Louis.
Survivors include two brothers: John Mozier and his wife, Pauline, of Old Town, FL, and Paul Mozier and his wife, Iris, of Winfield; two sisters, Alfreda Alstat and her husband, Purle, of Murphysboro, IL, and Doris Melinhar and her husband, Arnold, of St. Louis; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until time of the service at 2 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2010, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
Memorials may be made to the family of Vincent Mozier in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.

Jerry A. "Jake" Derr age 74 of Bowling Green passed away Saturday January 9, 2010 at his home.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Rev. Bill (Red) Haffner officiated. Burial was in the Troy City Cemetery with military graveside services being conducted. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2010 at the funeral home.
He was born June 29, 1935 in Cuba, the son of James Andrew and Lura Belle Hollandsworth Derr. On May 30, 1956 in Tunica, Miss., he married Angeline Galati. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons Raymond Derr and wife, Cynthia, of St. Charles, Mark Derr and wife, Dorothy, of Troy; two daughters, Janette Wagner and fiancee Kenny Creech, of Bowling Green, Lisa Broyles and husband, Steve, of Troy; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers William Derr and wife, Arma, of Festus, Jack Derr and wife, Karon, of Warrenton and one sister Glenda Gaugh of Moscow Mills.
Derr had lived in St. Charles where he worked at the St. Charles Quarry for 15 years before moving to Troy, Montgomery City and then to Bowling Green. He also was a police offier in Bridgeton Terrace. He was a Korean War Veteran where he served in the United States Air Force. He loved driving trucks of all kinds. He enjoyed being around children and volunteered for Head Start - Early Head Start. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Mudd-Veach Funeral Home.

Terry J. Mabry Sr., 55, of Moscow Mills, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1954 in Kennett, to Joe and Virginia (Mason) Mabry. Terry grew up with his younger brother, Brian.
After his formal schooling, he began working and shortly thereafter was married. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Daven, on Sept. 17, 1972 in St. Charles. They were blessed with four children: Terry Joe, Sarah Ann, Aaron James and Joshua Mason.
About 12 1/2 years ago, the family moved to Moscow Mills so they could enjoy rural living. Terry had been a member of Sacred Heart Church in Troy. He was a very organized individual who liked everything to be in its own place. Terry had worked for over 30 years for ABB, Inc in St. Louis.
Surviving are his loving family: his beloved wife of almost 37 years, Pat Mabry, of Moscow Mills; his parents, Joe and Virginia Mabry, of St. Charles; his four children, Terry Joe Mabry Jr. and wife, Heather, and daughter, Juli of O'Fallon, Sarah Ann Mabry, of Glendale, Aaron James Mabry, of Glendale and Joshua Mason Mabry, of Moscow Mills; his brother: Brian Mabry and wife, Michelle, of St.Charles; his brother-in-law, David Daven and wife, Cheree, of Wentzville; his sister-in-laws, Theresa Wilkins and husband, Jim, of Moscow Mills, and Pamela Baumann of St. Charles; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral mass was held Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at 10 a.m. from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy. Officiating was Fr. Tom Wissler.
Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Troy. Visitation was held on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, from 3-9 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 1304 Boone St. Troy, MO 63379.
Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, c/o the funeral home.
