Lucille Bridgeman Craft

Lucille Bridgeman Craft of Sullivan, Missouri passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at the age of 77 years.

Lucille was born on November 30, 1925 in Sullivan, Missouri to Ralph and May (Gough) Brown. She was a life-long resident of the Sullivan area and made her career as an elementary school teacher for many years. Lucille was a graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She later earned her Masters degree at the University of Arkansas at Littlerock. She attained a lifetime achievement certificate in special and gifted education and devoted her life to educating children. Lucille was married to Jesse Bridgeman on September 3, 1955 and to this union 6 children were born. Jesse preceded her in death on June 3, 1994. On February 3, 1996 she was united in marriage of John Leo Craft at Steelville, Missouri. He too preceded Lucille in death in October of 1999. Lucille enjoyed playing the piano and singing, line dancing and playing cards with her cousins. Lucille was also a member of the Coffee Community Church in Steelville and attended Pea Ridge Community Church.

She is survived by four sons, William Bridgeman and wife Barbara, Ronald Bridgeman and wife Dianne, and Charles Bridgeman all of Sullivan and Donald Bridgeman and fiance Mindy of Steelville, two daughters, Marky Davis and husband Chuck of Franklin, Indiana, and Faith E. Sweeney and husband Paul of Steelville, two step-sons, Jerry Craft and wife Connie of Bourbon and J. R. Craft and wife Nadine of Rolla, 18 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren other relatives and friends. Lucille was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2003 from the Pea Ridge Holiness Church with Pastors Alfred Morgan, Tom Campbell and Gene Whitaker officiating. Interment was in Reedville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.

Debra Sue Rhoades

Debra Sue Rhoades of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at the age of 41 years.

Debra was born on November 27, 1961 in Sullivan, Missouri to Helen Mattox Neff and the late Louis Neff. She was a life long resident of the Sullivan area and on March 16, 1982 was married to Jeffery Rhoades. Debra was known as a loving homemaker and caring mother who found pleasure in walking outdoors and enjoying nature.

She is survived by her husband Jeffery Rhoades, 3 children, Brandon, Jessica and Nichole Rhoades all of the family home, her mother, Helen Neff of Bourbon, one brother, Harold Neff of Bourbon, five sisters, Wilma Wymer of Cuba, Wanda Houseman of Cuba, Karen Parker of Bourbon, Rita Parker of Sullivan and Dawn Hawkins of Sullivan, her mother-in-law, Heneretta Rhoades of Springfield, Arkansas, brothers-in-law, Samuel, Larry and Rick Rhoades, sisters-in-law, Wilma Jennings, Sue Lupo, Brenda Wadlow and Tammy Steinbach, other relatives and friends. Along with her father, Debra was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Carrol and William Rhoades.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2003 from the Hassebroek Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor James Self officiating. Interment was in Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Florence Juergens

Florence Juergens of Sullivan passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at the age of 95 years.

Florence was born February 3, 1908 to the late Fred and Dove Anna (Alexander) Williamson at Bourbon, Missouri. She attended the Dowler Mill School and after moving to Sullivan, she attended Sullivan High School. Florence was married to William Crow and two children were born to their marriage. She later married Leslie Juergens on December 27, 1948. Leslie preceded her in death in 1986. Florence enjoyed flower gardening and her hobby was helping others. She was a very giving person and would always lend a hand when someone was in need. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church of Sullivan and the Eunice Sunday school class. She will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.

She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Bute of Sullivan, her daughter-in-law, Margarie Crow of St. Louis, one nephew, George David Williamson and wife, Hanna Laura of Faurnelau, Germany, sister-in-law Laura Williamson, several special nieces and nephews, special friends, Nancy Jackson and the late, Clifton Jackson, Lavina Chandler and Lester and Rebecca Eaton, other relatives and friends. Along with her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by her children, William and Betty Lou Crow.

Funeral services were conducted 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2003 at the Eaton Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Perry officiating. Interment was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Missouri Baptist Hospice in memory of Florence Juergens.

James F. Miller

James F. Miller of Sullivan, Missouri, passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan on Sunday, February 9, 2003 at the age of 76 years.

Mr. Miller was born on February 8, 1927 at Leasburg, Missouri to Claud and Stella Ratliff Miller. He was raised in the Leasburg and Bourbon areas and had lived the majority of his life here. Mr. Miller honorably served his country during W.W.II with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre. In May of 1952 he was married to Julia Douglas and they made their home in the Sullivan area. He was known as a quiet man who had a will of his own. He had a fondness for stock car racing and was an accomplished mechanic. He was self-employed as an auto mechanic for several years before retiring.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife Julia (Judy) Miller of the family home, a step-daughter, Nancy Jean Fitzpatrick and husband John of the state of New Jersey, three brothers, George Miller and wife Edna Mae of Sullivan, Stanley Miller and wife Jane, David Miller and wife Betty all of Cuba, Missouri, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Charles Idleman officiating. Interment was in Gerth Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.

Charles Thomas Bishop, Sr.

Charles Thomas Bishop, Sr. of Bourbon, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at the age of 31 years.

Charles was born on August 26, 1971 to Linda Kay Bishop and the late Charles Bishop. He was raised in St. Louis and attended school there. He was a Journeyman carpet installer and worked both in the commercial and residential trade. Charles was known as a happy individual, enjoying music and dancing, playing pool and watching football with his friends. He was great with kids and would always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help. On September 25, 1999 he was married to Stephanie Elsperman at Sullivan, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife Stephanie of the family home, 5 children, Stephen, Sheldon, Charles, Jr., Samantha and Shelby, his mother and step-father, Linda and James Moore, a sister, Lisa Bishop, grandparents, Richard and Helen Smock and Evelyn Bishop, other relatives and many friends. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Bishop.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Gary Oglesby officiating. Interment was in Crow Cemetery, Sullivan, Missouri. Those who desire may make memorials to the trust fund established for the children of Charles Bishop, Sr.

Irene Brown

Irene E. Brown of Sullivan, Missouri passed away at Cedar Crest Manor, Washington, Missouri on Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at the age of 84 years.

Mrs. Brown was born April 15, 1918 at Oermann, Missouri near Cedar Hill, Missouri to August and Hulda (Meyer) Viehland. She later moved to the St. Clair area and attended school there. On April 6, 1946 she was married to Virgil Brown at the home of her parents in St. Clair, Missouri. Irene was employed for a time at the former Carmo Shoe Company at Union as a press operator. Irene really enjoyed life and she reflected this around her family and friends. She found pleasure in traveling, dancing and music. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sullivan and was a charter member of the Mariners.

She is survived by a sister Berniece Rathgeber of St. Clair, Missouri and a special niece and god-daughter, Gayle Buel of Washington, Missouri, other relatives and friends. Along with her husband and parents, Irene was preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert, Roy, Hugo and Arnold Viehland and and sister Lurene Viehland.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2003 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with pastor Ann Pittman officiating. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Garden, Union, Missouri. Those who desire may make memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.

Stella Merritt Immekus

Stella Merritt Immekus of Sullivan, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at the age of 88 years.

Stella was born on May 3, 1914 at VanBuren, Missouri to John Walter and Josephine Hines Cross. She was raised there until her early teens when the family then moved to Sullivan. For the most part of her life she was a homemaker, except for a time working at the former International Shoe Company. In August of 1931 she was married to Roy Immekus and to this marriage three sons where born. Mr. Immekus preceded Stella in death in 1978. On June 22, 1980 she was married to Ray Merritt, he too preceded Stella in death in 1980. Stella was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan. She enjoyed dancing and bingo, arts and crafts at her home at Cuba Manor until ill health caused her to be less active.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Immekus of the state of California and Robert Immekus of Arnold, Missouri, one sister, Jewel Bartel of Sullivan, four grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Louise Cross of Sullivan and Goldie Black of Eureka, Missouri, other relatives and friends. Along with her parents and husbands, Stella was preceded in death by a son, Virgil Lewis Immekus, four brothers Earl, Ernest, Raymond and Orville Cross and two sisters, Bertha Barron and Dorothy Record.

Memorial funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2003 from the chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastro Charles Idleman officiating. Inurnment was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Sullivan, Missouri. Those who desire may make memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Bonnie Irene Boyer

Bonnie Irene Boyer of Bourbon, Missouri passed away at Lakewood, Colorado on Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at the age of 59 years.

Mrs. Boyer was born at Mineral Point, Missouri on April, 5, 1943 to Dewey Michael and Alice Helvista Davis. She made her home for a time in the St. Louis area, later moving to the St. James and Rolla area and finally Bourbon, Missouri 26 years ago. She was married to Joe Stewart for 28 years which ended in divorce, however they remained close friends throughout the years. Bonnie was employed as a C.N.A./Medical Technician and was a very caring individual with a strong willed personality. She enjoyed painting and drawing in her free time. Bonnie was a member in the Penecostal faith.

She is survived by a son Junior Ray Boyer and wife Lisa of Lakewood, Colorado, one brother, Robert Boyer of Clear Lake, California, ones sister, Loraine Harrison of St. James, Missouri, 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, other relatives and friends. Along with her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by a son Randy Stewart, a daughter, Rhonda Stewart, and a brother, Leonard Boyer

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2003 from Hassebroek’s Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Hugh Stogsdill officiating. Interment was in Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.

Imogene Tanner

Imogene Tanner of Bourbon, Missouri passed away at Phelps County Regional Hospital, Rolla, Missouri on Sunday, February 2, 2003 at the age of 80 years, 2 months, 2 weeks and 6 days.

Imogene was born on November 13, 1922 at Beech Grove, Arkansas to George and Bessie Emiline Jones Garner. On August 8, 1940 she was married to Carl Leroy Tanner at Morris Mill, Missouri and to this ;union four children were born. The family resided for a time in St. Louis later moving to the Bourbon area. Imogene was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bourbon. She was employed at the former PACCO Company in Sullivan and later transferred with the company when it became Borg-Warner in Washington, Missouri. Imogene retired from there in 1987. She was a very loving mother and her children were her pride and joy. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by three sons, Leroy Tanner and Kenneth Tanner and wife Debby all of Sullivan, Dennis Tanner and wife Debbie of Moselle, MO, a step-daughter, Barbara Sue Wildeisen and husband Bob of the state of Minnesota, one brother, John Garner and wife Bonnie of Bourbon, one half-sister, Sadie Pollock of Sullivan, two step-sisters, Mildred Badaclatti and husband Mario, Frieda McBride and husband Jerry, and one step-brother, Wayne Tanner and wife Betty all of St. Louis, 18 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews , other relatives and friends. Along with her parents, Imogene was preceded in death by her husband Carl Leroy Tanner, step-father, John Henry Tanner a daughter, Carol Elizabeth Busse a step-daughter, Lavonia Beatt, , a sister Nina Garner and step-brother, Joseph Tanner.

Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Scott Perry officiating. Interment was in I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery.
