RICHESON
Charles P. "Phil" Richeson, 60, Jefferson City, died May 3, 2001, at his home.
He was born Nov. 30, 1940, in Potosi, a son of Edward S. and Martha L. Phillips Richeson. He was married June 20, 1964, in St. Louis, to Marsha G. George, who survives at the home.
A high school graduate of the American School in Japan, he received bachelor's and master's degrees in economics from Washington University, St. Louis. He was employed as administrator of transit at the Missouri Department of Transportation for 20 years.
He was a resident of the Jefferson City area since 1971.
Other survivors include: two sons, McGready L. Richeson, Dallas, and Samuel R. Richeson, Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter, Rebecca P. Unterriker, Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Molly R. Veitch, Dallas; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Freeman Mortuary. Private graveside services will be in the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials are suggested to Alcoholics Anonymous.
COTTON
Leonard "Bear" Cotton, 74, Gilchrist, Texas , died May 3, 2001, at his home.
He was married to Faith Cotton, who survives in Gilchrist.
A native of Glenn Allen, Mo., he lived in Gilchrist for two years. He was a retired owner of a boat and motorcycle dealership.
Other survivors include: three sons, Lynn Cotton, Gilchrist, James Ownbey and Jeff Ownbey, both of Jefferson City; and two grandchildren.
No services are planned. Cremation is under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary, Winnie, Texas .
HOWSER
Katherine Eling Howser, 47, Fulton, died May 4, 2001, at her home.
She was born Nov. 11, 1953, in Keokuk, Iowa, a daughter of Dr. Robert C. and Verlin Johnson Baxter. Her mother survives in Jefferson City. She was married Oct. 14, 1994, in Hermann, to Gary Uppinghouse, who survives at the home.
She opened Katherine's Glass Design and Art Work in 1998. Prior to that, was assistant administrator at Missouri Cancer Associates in Columbia for six years. She was a member of the Fulton Art League, the Columbia Art League and First Presbyterian Church in Fulton.
Other survivors include: three sons, Eric Howser, Jefferson City, Scott Howser, Charlotte, N.C., and Adam Howser, Fulton; one stepson, Brad Uppinghouse, Hams Prairie; two stepdaughters, Gretchen Roberts and Kim Ramsey, both of Illinois; three sisters, Sandy Miller, Grass Valley, Calif., Meg Kocher, Holts Summit, and Sarah Wilding, Jefferson City; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Bob Vegiard will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Missouri River Hospice of Columbia.
ROBERSON
Lorine Roberson, 84, Dixon, died May 4, 2001, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 5, 1916, in Nevada, a daughter of Osbern and Sella Filipine Campbell. She was married to Alvin Jennings, who died in 1962. She was later married to Lee Roberson, who also preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: five sons, Clinton Weyand and Raymond Jennings, both of Crocker, Jim Weyand, Fort Worth, Texas , James Jennings, Dixon, and Daniel Smith; two daughters, Mary Snodgrass, Rolla, and Pat Roberson, Meta; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles Weyand, and one daughter, Norma Martin.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Dixon. Bro. Paul Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Kenner Cemetery near Dixon.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday and from 10-11 a.m. Monday.
EDWARDS
Virginia L. Edwards, 91, Jefferson City, died May 4, 2001, at Jefferson City Manor Care Center.
She was born July 21, 1909, in Worth County, a daughter of Nathaniel and Maude Elizabeth Costin Mathews. She was married July 2, 1934, in Eldon, to Erman Victor Edwards, who died April 9, 1973.
She graduated from Worth High School, Worth. She attended Palmer College and Northwest Missouri State University where she received her Lifetime Teaching Certificate.
A homemaker, she was a rural school teacher in Missouri and a child care provider in Jefferson City. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Worth; the Demeter Garden Club and the Sorosis Club, Bethany.
Survivors include: two daughters, Anabeth Graham and Sheryl Bremmerkamp, both of Jefferson City; one sister, Margy Asher, Worth; two granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Grant City Cemetery, Grant City.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.

BELLAMY
Frank G. Bellamy, 88, Gravois Mills, died May 5, 2001, at Laurie Care Center.
He was born Dec. 4, 1912, in Camden County, a son of William and Virginia Morris Bellamy. He was married in 1931 to Dorothy Moore, who died in 1999.
He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include: two sons, Earl Bellamy, Versailles, and Bill Bellamy, Sweet Springs; one sister, Ruby Bellamy Hagerman, Tipton; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Jim Randall will officiate. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
CRADER
Liman O'Dell Crader, 70, Jefferson City, died May 5, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Marble Hill, a son of Melvin A. and Pearl Rush Crader. He was married May 14, 1955, in Hernando, Miss., to Mary Hurley, who survives at the home.
He attended Marble Hill grade school and was a 1949 graduate of Lutesville High School, Lutesville. He attended South East Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau.
He worked for the Missouri Department of Conservation from 1959 to 1996. He was a broker with Century 21/Crader Reality from 1975 to 1981 and was a school teacher in Leopold and Marble Hill from 1955 to 1959.
He served in the Army from 1950 to 1954 and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, the Veteran's of Foreign Wars and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. He was on the Board of Directors for Conservation Employees Credit Union and was a former member of the Jefferson City Area Board of Realtors, MLS, NAR and NAFA.
Other survivors include: two sons, Greg Crader, Edgerton, and Danny Crader, Fulton; three daughters, Tami Oidtman, Columbia, and Lori Brauner and Cheri Skiles, both of Jefferson City; two brothers, Lary Crader, Jackson, and John Crader, Atlanta; two sisters, Shirley Casey, Imperial, and Mary Gran, Madison, S.D.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Burial with full military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross.
EDGAR
John Robert Edgar, 52, Barnett, died May 4, 2001, at his home.
He was born Nov. 19, 1948, in Cuba, a son of Ural and Lena Bland Edgar. He was married in Frederick, Ill., to Reta Whittle, who survives at the home.
He was employed by Missouri Stave Company, Brighton, for the last seven years as a logger. He held the Arizona state logging record with 740 trees cut in one day.
He was a member of the Big Rock Church, near Barnett.
Other survivors include: two sons, Jeffrey Edgar and James Edgar, both of Bolivar; one daughter, Jessica Edgar, of the home; five brothers, Donald Edgar, Lincoln, George Edgar, David Edgar and Timmy Edgar, all of Versailles, and Oral Edgar, Barnett; four sisters, Mable Weicken, Stover, Sandra Davenport, California, Naomi Miller, Otterville, and Fern Brown, Mesa, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles. Bro. Wilford Whittle will officiate. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
Memorials are suggested to a fund for his daughter's education.
HARRISON
Elizabeth Ruth Harrison, 77, Fulton, died May 4, 2001, at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia.
She was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Frank and Elena Mae Stewart Massey. She was married Nov. 20, 1945, to Morris E. Harrison, who survives at the home.
A homemaker, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fulton.
Other survivors include: two sons, Terry Harrison and Ricky Harrison, both of Fulton; one sister, Pauline Thomas, Fulton; five grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.
One son, Tony Harrison, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.

HIGGINS
LaVerne Higgins, 63, California, died May 4, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center.
She was born July 21, 1937, in Lupus, a daughter of M. R. and Genevieve Howe Burks. She was married Aug. 11, 1956, in California, to Richard Higgins, who died in January 1981.
A homemaker, she worked at Nic Nac Café and Matco, both in California, until 1997. She was a member of Lupus Baptist Church, Lupus, and attended Jamestown School.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sandy Gerlach, Jamestown; two sons, Kenneth Higgins and Zane Higgins, both of California; two brothers, Bob Burks and Fred Burks, both of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Doris Brizendine, Lupus, and Sue Mason, Jamestown; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
One grandson preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. The Rev. Chester Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday.
