SCHATZER
Sandra Kay Schatzer, 38, Latham, died April 25, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 28, 1963, in San Bernardino, Calif., a daughter of Thomas D. and Alleen Barnhill Swafford. Her father survives in Kidder. Her mother and stepfather, Robert F. Gadd, survive in Latham. She was married May 28, 1999, in California, to Jason Schatzer, who survives in Tipton.
She attended Gary High School in Pamona, Calif. She was a homemaker and had worked for Nordyne in Tipton. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include: one brother, Bobby Danniel Gadd, California; four sisters, Mary Jane Swafford, Latham, Peggy Bell Gay, St. Joseph, Wendy May Knight, of New Zealand, and Bonnie Marion Gadd, Springfield.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services. The Rev. Dean Waters will officiate. Burial will be in Latham Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.

WILSON
Services were Monday for Ruth E. Wilson, 93, Mountain Grove, formerly of Jefferson City, who died April 19, 2002, at her home.
She was born Aug. 25, 1908, in Mountain Grove, a daughter of Elmer and Zula Lathrom Wilson.
She moved to the Jefferson City area as a young woman. She worked as a secretary for Union Electric. She moved back to the Mountain Grove area 12 years ago. She was a member of Business Professional Women and Sigma Gamma Theta Sorority. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Jefferson City and the Trinity United Methodist Church in Mountain Grove.
Graveside services were in Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Larry Scriven officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Craig-Hurtt-Bradley Funeral Home in Mountain Grove.
HUNKELER
Mildred M. Hunkeler, 93, Bridgeton, died April 26, 2002, at the Osage Beach Health Care Center.
She was born Dec. 26, 1908, in St. Louis, a daughter of William and Emilia Borsch Leeser. She was married Jan. 30, 1932, in East St. Louis, to Harry Edward Hunkeler, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Maryland Heights and a homemaker.
Survivors include: one son, Donald Hunkeler, Linn Creek; one daughter, Lorraine Young, Cary, N.C.; one sister, Evelyn Klags, St. Louis; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild.
Services will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Hope Lutheran Church in Osage Beach with the Rev. John Dautenhahn officiating. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Valhalla Cemetery in St. Loius.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
GARMANY
Michael B. Garmany, 50, Kaiser, died April 26, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach.
He was born Jan. 17, 1952, in Monterey, Calif., a son of William H. and Barbara Alice Ezzell Garmany. He was married Feb. 17, 1973, to Victoria Garmany, who survives at the home.
He graduated from Pacific Grove High School in 1969. He moved to Kaiser in 1979. He was a Navy veteran and earned a Bronze Star. He taught boating safety in the Lake area.
Survivors include: two sons, David Garmany, and Victor Garmany, both of Kaiser; three brothers, Ricky Garmany, Brumley, and Dennis Garmany, and Billy Garmany, both of Moss Landing, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. The Rev. Tracy Carroll will officiate.
ROSE
Virginia Cornelia Rose, 86, formerly of Jefferson City, died April 27, 2002, in Albuquerque, N.M.
She was born July 27, 1915, in Russellville, a daughter of Leo H. and Flora Mary Hackman Gratz. She was married June 7, 1938, in Tipton, to William Curtis Rose, who died July 2, 1990.
She graduated from Tipton High School in 1932 and attended business college. She was a homemaker and worked for eight years as a clerk typist with the Missouri Division of Employment Security. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, two chapters of the Immaculate Club and St. Anne's Sodality. She was a member of St. Marys Health Center Auxiliary, Janus Club, Ten High Dance Club, and Guys & Dolls Dance Club. She was a former Girl Scout leader and room mother. She was a charter member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.
Survivors include: one son, John W. Rose, Jefferson City; three daughters, Sr. Mary Charitas, P.C.C., Newport News, Va., Carol Pailer, Albuquerque, N.M., and Sandra L. Keeney, Kansas City; one sister, Mary Lee McHenry, Jefferson City; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Gregory L. Higley will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m., at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home.

VEIT
Herman Adolph Veit, 82, Jefferson City, died April 28, 2002, at Beverly Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Feb. 12, 1920, in Cole County, a son of Adolph F. and Katherine Anna Poetker Veit. He was married June 20, 1942, in Los Angeles, to Mary Ann Steck, who survives at the home.
He worked for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation as a tool planner for 38 years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 5, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aries 2693, and National Rifle Association. He was a 50-year member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers Lodge 727C and a life member of St. Martin VFW Post 35.
Survivors include: one daughter, Jerilyn Louise Hanlon, Menlo Park, Calif.; one sister, Mary Schwarzer, Jefferson City; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at St. Martin Catholic Church. The Rev. Edwin A. Schmidt will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Martin Catholic School, 7206 St. Martins Avenue, Jefferson City, Mo. 65109.

WENTZ
Henrietta Mae Wentz, 91, Sunrise Beach, died April 28, 2002, at her home.
She was born Jan. 22, 1911, in Glen Elder, Kan., a daughter of George and Essie Irene Slagel Gish. She was married Jan. 18, 1936, to George W. Wentz, who survives at the home.
She worked for J.C. Penney and Katz Drug Company in Kansas City. She was a member of West Lake Christian Church in Laurie and a former member of the Hickman Mills Community Christian Church in Kansas City. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Kansas City.
Survivors include: one son, Jon A. Wentz, Camdenton; one daughter, Donna Jean Adams, Salina, Kan.; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
One son, Gary Wentz, preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at West Lake Christian Church, Laurie. The Rev. Jane Sander will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kansas City.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

CHRISTOPHER
Services were today for Erna Dean Christopher, 76, Jonesburg, formerly of Fulton, who died April 28, 2002, at Jonesburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Fulton, a daughter of Frank C. and Ora Alice Clingman Christopher.
Survivors include one brother, Bill Christopher, Harrison, Ark., and one sister, Mary Keeling, Mexico.
Graveside services were in Hillcrest Cemetery. Bruce Williamson officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
SARGENT
Denny La'Ree Sargent, 16, Camdenton, died April 24, 2002, at Children's Hospital, St. Louis.
She was born Dec. 5, 1985, in Conroe, Texas , a daughter of Don E. and Lynn Ray Sargent, who survive.
She moved to the Lake area in 1986 and was a sophomore at Camdenton High School.
Survivors include: one brother, Jeremiah Lee Sargent, of the home, and one sister, Jacey Lynn Sargent, of the home; three half brothers, Joe Sargent, Keokuk, Iowa, Johnathan Sargent, Lincoln, Neb., and Latham Taylor, Jacksonville, Texas ; three half sisters, Stacey Sargent, Lincoln, Neb., Melissa Taylor, Pasadena, Texas , and Kendra Lee Thornton, Mexia, Texas .
Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton. Her body was donated to science.
Memorials are suggested to a medical/educational fund for Jacey and Jeremiah Sargent.
WOERTH
Burdetta Frances Jordan Woerth, 87, formerly of Fulton, died April 27, 2002, in St. Peters.
She was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Powersville, Ky., a daughter of Chester H. and Anna Lee Fraysure Jordan. She was married Oct. 22, 1938, in Brooksville, Ky., to Raymond F. Woerth, who died Sept. 22, 1988.
She graduated from Berea College in Berea, Ky., in 1938 with a degree in home economics. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulton. She was past president of GFWC Missouri Woman's Club of Fulton.
Survivors include: one daughter, Susan Kay Stephens, St. Charles; and one granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fulton. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton.
Memorials are suggested to Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation or St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
ZYLA
Paul Stanley Zyla, 80, Jefferson City, died April 29, 2002, at his home.
He was born July 15, 1921, in Danville, Ill., a son of Joseph and Clara Edna Stansbury Zyla. He was married Nov. 15, 1942, in Jefferson City, to Vivian Mildred Hickman, who survives at the home.
He was parts manager for various Chrysler dealerships in Michigan, California and Missouri, before retiring in 1975 as a purchasing agent for the state of Missouri. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of First Christian Church; Disabled American Veterans; and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Other survivors include: four daughters, Sharon E. Zyla, Denise C. Thoenen and Debbie A. Becker, all of Jefferson City, and Paula S. Sedlock, Tracy, Iowa; one sister, Virginia Newman, Sun City, Calif.; two brothers, Lawrence Zyla, Nashville, Tenn., and Robert Zyla, Romeo, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Friday at First Christian Church. The Rev. Lawrence A. Veatch will officiate. Military honors will be conducted at the church.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Friday at the church.

Maxine Letha Haberkorn, 86, Laurie, died April 29, 2002, at Laurie Care Center.
She was born Sept. 12, 1915, in Miami, Texas , a daughter of Iliff and Mary Opal Brizendine. She was married to Edward August Haberkorn, who preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: one son, Floyd Eugene Haberkorn, San Francisco; two daughters, Mary Ann Hart, Kansas City, and Virginia Wright, Gravois Mills; one brother, Clifton Brizendine, Bonner Springs, Kan.; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Two grandsons preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Highland Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.
