EKSTAM
Nicole MyaAnn Ekstam, 3, Olean, died March 24, 2003, near Olean, as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
She was born June 8, 1999, in Lake Ozark, a daughter of Jason and Carrie Hull Ekstam. Her father survives in Eldon. Her mother and stepfather, Joseph L. Porter, survive in Olean.
Other survivors include: one brother, Jason Ekstam, Olean; paternal grandparents, Jean and Jerry Porter, Eugene; paternal grandmother, Mary Ekstam, Eldon; maternal grandmother, Jewel Rhodes, Olean; paternal great-grandmother, Elsie Ekstam, Eugene; and paternal great-grandparents, Jim and Betty Partkhurst, Eldon.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rekus Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Cellis Crum will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Tuscumbia.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday.
LEWIS
Anna K. Lewis, 81, Columbia, died March 22, 2003, in Columbia.
She was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Clark, a daughter of Edward and Clifton Harvey.
She worked at Nora Steward Nursery School, Columbia. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church, Columbia, and the Chancelor Choir. She was a member of Steward Board and the Silver Flakes.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sandra K. Gardner, Jefferson City; three sisters, Pauline Lee, Mexico, and Vangel Palmer and Mary Mahon, both of Kansas City; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul AME Church. The Rev. Clifton St. James will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Warren Funeral Chapel, Columbia.
HINES
Services were today for Richard Lowe Hines, 78, Camdenton, who died March 24, 2003, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach.
He was born June 11, 1924, in Kansas City, a son of Harry J. and Dorothy Ruth Lowe Hines. He was married June 23, 1945, to Lucy Mae VanHorn, who survives at the home.
He attended Central High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia. He served in the Army for 26 years, retiring as a staff sergeant major in 1971. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War,
He moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, where he worked as a boat salesman for several marinas and sold automobile parts. He was a member of Harper Chapel United Methodist Church, Osage Beach. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a past master of Linn Creek Masonic Lodge 152 AF & AM. He was a 25-year member and past patron of Erie Star Chapter 132, Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of VFW Post 6514, Osage Beach.
Other survivors include: two sons, Harry Hines, Rolla, and Thomas Hines, Bolivar; one daughter, Patty Thomason, Webb City; one brother, Robert P. Hines, Napoleon; one sister, Sue Hines, Sausalito, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Services were at Harper Chapel United Methodist Church. Pastor Robert Hickman officiated. Burial with full military honors was in Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton.
Memorials are suggested to Harper Chapel Scholarship Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton.
HUDSON
Gloria M. Hudson, 70, Jefferson City, died March 27, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
She was born April 20, 1932, in Callaway County, a daughter of William H. and Mary M. Garrett Green. She was married Nov. 19, 1955, in Jefferson City, to Harold E. "Gene" Hudson, who died Oct. 5, 2001.
She was a 1951 graduate of Jefferson City High School. A homemaker, she worked for the Department of Revenue for five years and was a day care worker at First Baptist Church Child Development Center for 10 years until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three daughters, Connie Witte, St. Charles, and Donna Jambor and Carla Meyer, both of Jefferson City; one sister, Margie Schouse, Newport News, Va.; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, Jefferson City. The Rev. Doyle Sager and the Rev. David Phelps will officiate. Burial will be in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday.
Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation or the First Baptist Church.
SICKMEIER
Anna Pearl Woodard Sickmeier, 84, De Soto, formerly of California, died Feb. 27, 2003, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Crystal City.
She was born June 30, 1918, in Moniteau County, a daughter of Roy E. and Flora Marie Jenkins Woodard. She was married in 1937 in St. Louis, to Louis William Sickmeier, who died in July 1993.
She attended Pluck School. She was a homemaker and caregiver. In World War II, she worked building airplanes. She attended Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include: four sons, Gary Sickmeier, St. Louis, and Louis Sickmeier, Glenn Allen Sickmeier and Curtis Sickmeier; one daughter, Frances Douglas; five sisters, Goldie Brown, Mary Hargrove, Katherine Peters, Dora Schreiner and Jane Cobligh; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at California Masonic Lodge Fellowship Hall. The Rev. Greg Morrow will officiate. Inurnment will be in California City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Weber and Sons Funeral Home, California.
THOMPSON
Lester Vache "L.V." Thompson, 86, Linn, died March 26, 2003, at St. Marys Health Center.
He was born Sept. 2, 1916, in Bonnots Mill, a son of William L. and Louise Vache Thompson. He was married Feb. 9, 1939, in Jefferson City, to Marie M. Knoerr, who survives at the home.
A lifelong area resident, he attended school in Bonnots Mill and Linn R-2 High School. He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia. He worked with Federal Barge Lines as a pilot on the Mississippi, Missouri and Ohio rivers for many years. He also worked with the Army Corps of Engineers for several years. He was associated with Knoerr Propane, Linn. He farmed and raised cattle. He was a member of St. George Church, Linn.
Other survivors include: two sons, William L. Thompson and Eric N. Thompson, both of Linn; four daughters, Charlotte A. Baclesse and Stephanie D. Lehmen, both of Jefferson City, Jeanine M. Dulle, Linn, and Cynthia L. Thompson, Mt. Vernon; 14 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 11 great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. George Church. The Rev. Daniel I.J. Lueckenotte will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Morton Funeral Home, Linn, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. George Church or St. Peter's Capital Improvement Fund, St. Peters Church, Jefferson City.
YOUNG
Gerald "Jerry" Young, 60, Versailles, died March 27, 2003, at his home.
Arrangements are at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home, Versailles.
KRASHIN
Harold W. Krashin, 74, Roach, died March 27, 2003, at his home.
He was born March 20, 1929, in Norton, Kan., a son of Phillip and Carrie Smith Krashin. He was married Sept. 1, 1950, in Kansas City, to Jane Delaney, who survives at the home.
He was a baker for Interstate Brands and was an Army veteran.
Other survivors include: one son, Harold Wesley Krashin, Riverside, Calif.; two daughters, Debbi Schrader, Woodland Hills, Calif., and Katrina Williams, Council Bluffs, Iowa; one brother, James Krashin, Roach; one sister, Esther Tussey, Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.
Visitation services will be from 2-4 p.m. today at Hedges Funeral Home, Camdenton.
REYNOLDS
Richard F. "Rick" Reynolds, 34, Gladstone, died March 26, 2003, in Smithville.
He was born May 6, 1968 in Kansas City, Kan., a son of Richard L. and Lillian A. Younger Reynolds, who survive in Sunrise Beach.
He was a student at Maple Woods Community College.
He was an apprentice electrician at Ford Motor Company.
He attended St. Charles Catholic Church and was a former member of the UAW Local 249.
Other survivors include: one brother, Rodney Reynolds, Kansas City; one son, Richard "Billy" W. Reynolds; and a daughter, Danielle Reynolds.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Shrine of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, Laurie. The Rev. Fred J. Barnett will officiate. Burial will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. today at D.W. Newcomer's Sons White Chapel, Gladstone.
Memorials are suggested to Saint Patrick Catholic Church.
