Lee Jones
(September 24, 1957 - August 29, 2011)
Funeral services for Lee Jones of Winona will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, at Moore Memorial United Methodist Church in Winona, with burial following in Oakwood cemetery in Winona. Rev. Rusty Keen and Rev. Larry Creel will officiate the services.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., in the Family Life Center of Moore Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Jones died of complications from a fractured hip on Monday, August 29, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was 53 years old.
Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Grenada Lake Academy in Gore Springs, Holmes Jr. College in Goodman, and Delta State University in Cleveland, where she earned two master's degrees. She taught first grade at Moss Point Elementary School, was assistant principal at Escatawpa Elementary School, and was Special Education Director and Federal Programs Director with Winona Public Schools until her retirement. She was a member of Moore Memorial United Methodist Church, the Open Door Sunday School Class, and chaired the Education Committee. She also served as chairperson of the United Methodist Women for the Greenwood District.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Jones of Winona; her mother and stepfather, Ermel and Hention Smith of Grenada; and three brothers, Gary Harbison of Grenada, Mike Harbison and his wife, Suzanne, of Grenada, and Gerald Harbison and his wife, Amy, of Lakeland, Florida.
Pallbearers will be Gary Harbison, Gerald Harbison, Henry Allman, Danny Fielder, Larry Bridges, and George Harris, Jr.

Don King
(May 11, 1951 - December 9, 2014)
Funeral services for Don King of Winona will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Oakwood cemetery in Winona. Rev. Kenneth Armstrong and Rev. Terry Corley will officiate the services.
Visitation is Friday, December 12, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. King, 63, died of heart failure at his home on Tuesday, December 9. He was born icon in Vaiden on May 11, 1951, to the late Ezell and Gertrude Green King. He was a self-employed logger and a member of North Winona Baptist Church.
Mr. King is survived by his wife, Myra Jones King of Winona; daughter, Alisha King of Winona; and brother, Wayne King of Winona.
Pallbearers will be Gene McNeer, Joey Bennett, Cole Mohundro, Scott Mohundro, Chris Costilow, and Mac Curington. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Hammond, Forest Edwards, Ricky Bullard, Ricky Spence, Jacob Curington, Junior Gammell, Thomas Buchfield, and Bobby Dillon.

Pauline "Polly" Felder Brantley
(September 19, 1922 - May 15, 2015)
Funeral services for Pauline "Polly" Felder Brantley of Starkville, formerly of Kilmichael, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, at Kilmichael United Methodist Church in Kilmichael, with burial following in Friendship cemetery in Kilmichael.
Rev. Bert Felder and Mr. Albert Brantley will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Monday, May 18, from 9:30 a.m. until service time, at the church.
Mrs. Brantley, 92, died at Carrington Nursing Center in Starkville on Friday, May 15.
She was born icon in Liberty, MS, on September 19, 1922, to the late Herman and Bertha Wall Felder. She was a homemaker and loved to read, sew, quilt, garden and was a fabulous cook. She was a member of Kilmichael United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brantley lived for the past six years at Montgomery Gardens in Starkville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tobie Dunn Brantley; sister, Marguerite Minks; and brothers, Edwin, Rodrick, Truitt, and Ray Felder.
Survivors include three daughters, Josie Nuckolls of Memphis, TN, Dianne Bean (Jimmy) of Columbus, Marilyn Tabor (Larry) of Starkville; four sons, Paul Brantley (Bobbi) of Greenville, Kenneth Brantley (Lana) of Greenville, Don Brantley (Jan) of Louisville, Chris Brantley (Adrienne) of Ridgeland; one sister, Janie Neyland of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, William Albert Felder of Liberty; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Brantley's grandsons, Jeff Brantley, Rodney Brantley, Marty Brantley, Phil Nuckolls, Michael Bean, Jeremy Tabor, Ryan Brantley, Jess Brantley, Trent Brantley, and Christopher Brantley.

Edward T. "Bud" Jones
(March 16, 1937 - January 12, 2016)
Edward T. "Bud" Jones, 78, of Carroll County died at his home on Tuesday, January 12.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Hebron Baptist Church in Montgomery County on Saturday, January 23, with interment following in Hebron cemetery. Rev. Harvey Overstreet will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time, at the church.
Mr. Jones was born icon in Kilmichael on March 16, 1937, to Charles E. and Lela Price Jones. He was an appliance repairman for Sears and also enjoyed mechanics and carpentry. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Linda Collins Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by two sons, Steve Jones and Robert Jones; sister, Faye Mullins; brother, George Jones; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Rev. Carlis A. Braswell
(May 23, 1932 - June 5, 2016)
Funeral services for Rev. Carlis A. Braswell of Winona will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, at North Winona Baptist Church in Winona, with burial following in Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery near Coila. Rev. John McMullen and Rev. Ken Armstrong will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Tuesday, from noon until service time, at the church.
Rev. Braswell, 84, died on Sunday, June 5, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. He was born icon on May 23, 1932, to Jimmie H. and Lola E. Braswell. He was a retired Baptist minister, having pastored several churches in the state. He was a member of North Winona Baptist Church. Rev. Braswell was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Merrick Braswell; grandson, Corey Aldridge; sister, Carolyn Alexander; and brother, Bennie Braswell.
Rev. Braswell is survived by his wife, Patsy A. Braswell of Winona; three daughters, Paulda Henson (Len) of Louisville, Janice Kilgore (Ricky) of Winona, and Theresa Coward (Dwayne) of Coila; two brothers, Hurschel Braswell and Lawrence Braswell, both of Winona; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jason Alford, Brad Aldridge, Kalin Alford, Jon Howerton, Chad Joiner, and Myron Braswell. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Alexander, Anthum Braswell, Brendon Winstead, and Glen Alexander.

Randy Dell "R.D." Woods Jr.
(February 8, 1994 - April 9, 2017)
Funeral services for Randy Dell "R.D." Woods Jr. of Winona will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in the Scotland Baptist Church cemetery near Winona. Rev. Bobby Palmertree will officiate the services. Visitation will be Thursday, April 13, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Woods, 23, died Sunday, April 9, in an accident in Grenada. He was born icon in Winona on February 8, 1994. He was a member of Scotland Baptist Church and attended Cowboy Church in Vaiden. He enjoyed hunting, small engine repair, and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lucille Costilow, Patricia Power, and William Power.
Mr. Woods is survived by his parents, Larry and Nita Costilow Power of Winona and Randy Dell Woods of Winona; sisters, Laura Woods of Maben and Savanna Power of Winona; grandparents, J. E. and Frances Woods of Winona and John Costilow of Winona; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be John Costilow, Ryan Curington, Jamie Varnes, Tyler Ballard, William Bradley, and Timothy Pearson. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Pearson, James Hester, David Logan, and Michael Bevis.

Tilmon Bell
(October 18, 1933 - October 20, 2010)
Funeral services for Tilmon Bell of Vaiden will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 22, at Oliver Chapel in Winona, with burial following in Poplar Creek Nations cemetery near Kilmichael. Rev. Donald Self will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Friday, October 22, from noon until 2:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Bell died of heart failure on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 77 years old.
Mr. Bell was the son of the late Charlie and Samantha Collum Bell. He was a retired plumber and electrician and a member of the Winona Masonic Lodge. He was also preceded in death by a son, Barry Bell.
Surviving Mr. Bell are two daughters, Becky Corley of Vaiden and Mary Bates of Ridgeland; two sons, Glen Bell of Winona and Wesley Bell of Amory; two sisters, Adell Williams of Jackson and Inez Williamson of Jackson; a brother, Ezell Bell of Pearl; fourteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Woods, Brad Jones, Mike McKay, Marshall Bell, Bryan Bell, and Joey Leach.

Bobby D. Johnson
(December 23, 1935 - September 4, 2011)
Graveside funeral services for Bobby Dean Johnson of Gore Springs will be at 2:00 p.m. on September 7, at Oakwood cemetery in Winona.
Rev. Adam Blair will officiate the services.
Mr. Johnson died of respiratory failure on Sunday, September 4, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. He was 75 years old.
Mr. Johnson was a retired correctional officer with the Mississippi Department of Corrections and a member of Gore Springs Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, the late Norman Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Carpenter Johnson of Gore Springs; his mother, Della Johnson of Duncan; three sons, Mike Johnson of Cleveland, Perry Johnson of Gunnison, Danny Johnson of Cleveland; three stepsons, Taylor Jenkins of Gore Springs, James Jenkins of Ruleville; Wesley Jenkins of Memphis, TN; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gore Springs Baptist Church, 32505 Highway 8 E, Gore Springs, MS 38929-9726.

Rose Bramlett Cason
(June 29, 1943 - July 8, 2013)
Funeral services for Rose Bramlett Cason of Ackerman will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, at French Camp Baptist Church in French Camp, with burial following in French Camp cemetery. Rev. Randy Bridges will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time, at French Camp Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cason died at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson on Monday, July 8. She was 70 years old.
Mrs. Cason was the daughter of the late Bradford and Lois Elliott Bramlett and the widow of the late Robert Cason. She was a homemaker and a member of French Camp Baptist Church. She loved flowers and gospel music and enjoyed traveling.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Melinda Bennett (Terry) of Kilmichael; two sons, Milton Green (Melanie) of Saltillo and Andy Green (Tonya) of Guntown; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Robert Peacock, Jeff Ward, Tommy Pender, Matt Bennett, Steven Bennett, and Joey Stevens.

Lloyd Brister
(April 6, 1927 - December 1, 2014)
Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd Brister of Winona will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, at First Baptist Church in Winona, with burial following in Oakwood cemetery in Winona. Dr. Tim Mims, assisted by Rev. John L. Walker and Rev. T. R. Darsey, will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 3, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Brister, 87, died of heart failure at his residence on Monday, December 1. He was born icon on April 6, 1927, to the late Englis and Nannie Black Brister. Mr. Brister was a retired forester and businessman and was a former teacher at French Camp School. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, where he was active in the Adult Men's Sunday School class.
Mr. Brister is survived by his wife, Carline Jacks Brister of Winona; one daughter, Judy Brister Smith of Eupora; three sons, Billy Guy Brister of Eupora, Bobby Brister of West Point, and Chuck Brister of Collierville, TN; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Zach Coleman, Jimbo Shelton, Jake Shute, James Morris Biggers, John Simmons, and Terry Parkerson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Men's Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.

Ruth E. Flowers
(July 30, 1921 - May 14, 2015)
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Ruth E. Flowers of Lexington, SC, formerly of Winona and Duck Hill, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 22, at Mars Hill cemetery near Duck Hill.
Mrs. Flowers, 93, died at her residence on Thursday, May 14. She was born icon on July 30, 1921, to the late Andrew J. and Stella Sykes Hensley. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church near Duck Hill, and was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed very much. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Flowers; son, Barney Flowers; sisters, Mary Spurgeon and Lilly Fields; and brothers, Andrew Jackson Hensley, Charlie Hensley, and Henry Hensley.
Mrs. Flowers is survived by her granddaughters, Barbara Flowers-Oliver (Eddie) of Lexington, SC, and Angela Flowers-Roscoe (Ricky) of Patrick, SC; sister, Irene Britt; brother, Edgar Hensley; and four great-grandchildren.
