Mrs. Arlice Townsend
(September 22, 1923 - March 13, 2008)
Funeral services for Mrs. Arlice Townsend of Winona are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 17, at Lee Chapel in Winona, with burial following in Oakwood cemetery in Winona. Dr. Phillip Dancy and Rev. John L. Walker will officiate the services. Visitation will be Sunday, March 16, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Lee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Townsend died at her residence on March 13. She was 84.
Mrs. Townsend was the daughter of the late Clyde and Elsie Flippen Dotson. She was the widow of the late Jack Townsend. Mrs. Townsend was a retired insurance agent and a member of First Baptist Church in Winona and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Griffin; and a sister, Willye Sue Holder.
Survivors include her son, John Dotson Townsend and his wife, Connie, of Brandon; brother, Clyde Dotson, Jr., of Winona; grandchildren, Leslie Townsend Shows and Jason Thomas Townsend, both of Hattiesburg; and a great-grandchild, Noah Townsend of Hattiesburg.
Pallbearers are Talmadge "Tee" Golding, Jimmy Erwin, Drew Dotson, Junior Shows, Joe Willingham, and Rod Cook. Honorary pallbearers are Al Dotson, Harold Blaine, Ed Hammond, David Dotson, Aubrey Boone, and Harry Neal.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 408, Winona, MS 38967; Mississippi Animal Rescue League; or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Tyler Dean Marett
(October 22, 1999 - June 6, 2009)
Funeral services for Tyler Dean Marett, age 9, of North Carrollton will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, at Carrollton Baptist Church in Carrollton, with burial following in Evergreen cemetery in North Carrollton. Rev. Gary Bunch and Rev. George Smith will officiate the services. Visitation will be Monday, June 8, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Lee Funeral Home; and on Tuesday, June 9, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Master Marett died in an ATV accident on Saturday, June 6. He was a fourth grade student at Carroll Academy, and a member of Carrollton Baptist Church and the Fire Department Volunteers Little League Baseball Team.
He was the son of Jennifer Misskelley Marett of North Carrollton and Brock Marett of Starkville.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister, Bailey Marett of North Carrollton; his brother, Breland Marett of North Carrollton; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Misskelley of North Carrollton; paternal grandparents, Sandy Sheppard of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Barry Marett of Longview, Texas; great-grandmother, Maggie Brownlow of Carrollton; aunts, Patty Beck of Carrollton, Mandy Whitfield of Carrollton, and Susanna Mullins of Carrollton; uncle, Chance Marett of Longview, Texas; first cousins, Joe Kelly Whitfield, Ava Whitfield, Jeb Beck, Cooper Beck, Mathis Beck, Noah Beck, and Katherine Mullins; second cousins, Caley Noah and Alex Noah; and a host of other cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brad Noah, Scott Noah, Jerry Paul Whitfield, Danny Beck, Trey Mullins, and William Corder; Honorary pallbearers will be the Fire Department Volunteers Little League Baseball Team.

George W. Turbeville, Jr.
(May 5, 1931 - October 12, 2010)
Funeral services for George W. Turbeville, Jr., of Vaiden will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 15, at Vaiden United Methodist Church in Vaiden, with burial following in the Hopewell cemetery near Vaiden. Rev. Calvin Cosnahan will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 14, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Lee Funeral Home.
Mr. Turbeville died of congestive heart failure at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. He was 79 years old.
Mr. Turbeville was a graduate of Mississippi State University with a degree in accounting and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was the youngest elected circuit clerk in Carroll County, and this began his love of politics. He was director of the Carroll County Department of Human Services for several years, later being named the Regional Director for the region including Carroll County. He also served 8 years as mayor of the Town of Vaiden. He loved people and he loved the Town of Vaiden and was proud of everything that the town accomplished while he was mayor. As busy as he was, he loved life, and family was most dear to him. It was said of Mr. Turbeville, "You realize you're an ordinary person when you stand by an extraordinary man, which he was." Mr. Turbeville was a member of Vaiden United Methodist Church in Vaiden.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam A. Turbeville of Vaiden; three daughters, Lori Turbeville Pickle of Madison, Kimberly Anne Turbeville of Pearl, and Melissa Turbeville Thomas (Frank) of Madison; three sisters, Jean Turbeville McClain (Arthur) of North Carrollton, Eloise Turbeville Gerrish (James) of Vaiden, and Linda Turbeville Hodges (Phillip) of Clinton; three grandchildren, Madeline Grace Pickle, Frank R. "Trey" Thomas III, and Addley Rebecca Turbeville Fisher; one uncle, Robert Lee; two aunts, Myrtle Smith and Sue Sudduth; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late George and Mattie Lee Turbeville.
Pallbearers will be Louis Alexander, Ralph Alexander Sr., Sam Alexander, Frank R. Thomas II, Ralph Alexander Jr., and Phillip Hodges. Honorary pallbearers will be James Cox, Jerry Carver, Vernon "Buddy" Welch, Charles Ellis, Ken McDougal, Ralph Self, and Dennis Welch.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vaiden United Methodist Church or to the Hopewell cemetery Fund.

Walter "Bud" King
(July 23, 2011)
Funeral services for Walter "Bud" King of Vaiden will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, at Lee Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Michie cemetery near Vaiden. Rev. Doug Warren will officiate the services.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 24, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Lee Funeral Home.
Mr. King died of cancer at his residence on Saturday, July 23. He was 76 years old.
Mr. King was the son of the late Earl and Maggie King. He was a retired factory worker and employee of Carroll County and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church near Vaiden.
Mr. King is survived by his wife, Betty Sue King of Vaiden; daughter, Janice Marie James and her husband, Jason, of Vaiden; son, Walter Earl King and his wife, Shanen, of Vaiden; sister, Edna Grantham of Grenada; three grandchildren, Kristen Nicole James, Ethan Earl King, and Britany Ann King; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Oliver, Wayne Oliver, Ricky Grantham, Barry Ronsville, Jackie Nelms, and Ronnie Nelms. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Burrell, Richard Turbeville, Billy King, Ronald King, and Doug Welch.

SFC Alvin Dorice Clark (US Army Ret)
(February 4, 1938 - March 25, 2013)
Funeral services for SFC Alvin Dorice Clark (US Army Retired) of Derby, Kansas, and formerly of Stewart, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, in the Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Crape Creek cemetery near Stewart, with military honors.
Visitation will be Saturday at Lee Funeral Home, from 12:00 noon until service time.
Mr. Clark died of cancer at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, on Monday, March 25. He was 75 years old.
Mr. Clark was born icon in Stewart on February 4, 1938, to Berry and Lillie Clark. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a dental clinic administrator and a Baptist. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include his children, Lori, Bobby, Kim, Kelly, and John; sister, Peggy Holmes; brother, Dennis Clark; thirteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Niswander, Adam Niswander, Andrew Steven, Chip Steven, Cooper Dewey, James Francisco, Wesley Holmes, Stacy Childress, Todd McDaniel, and Donnie Clark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Cleveland T. Welch
(March 12, 1958 - May 22, 2015)
Graveside services for Cleveland T. Welch will be on Sunday, May 24, at 2:30 PM at Vaiden cemetery in Vaiden. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM on Sunday, May 24, at Lee Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Palmertree will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Dennis Welch, Billy McCorkle, Thomas Mann, Tony Moore, Michael Dunn, and Gary Welch.
Mr. Welch, 57, of Vaiden passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Mr. Welch was born icon on March 12, 1958, to Harvey ‘Blacky’ Welch and the late Mary Agnes McCain Welch in Winona. He was a member of Shongalo Presbyterian Church in Vaiden and was a truck driver.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Harvey ‘Blacky’ Welch and Bonnie Welch of Vaiden; two daughters, April Lynn McLeod of Lucedale and Amanda Leanne Moree of Hurley; one sister, Sandra Floyd of Tennessee; one brother, Jeffery Welch of Grenada; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by two special aunts, Greta McCain of Grenada and Nobie Ferguson; and a special friend, Sherry Haislip of West.

Willard Neal Mitchell
(October 11, 1934 - May 29, 2016)
Willard Neal Mitchell, 81, of Ridgeland, died Sunday, May 29, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home in Winona with burial to follow at Oakwood cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Neal was born icon on October 11, 1934 in Lodi, MS to the late Virgil and Gladys Neal Mitchell. He attended Alva High School and Mississippi State University School of Engineering. He married icon Shirley Ann O'Neal and worked for Exxon Mobile Corp. for 38 years. After retirement, Neal and Shirley lived in Ridgeland and Mountain Home, Arkansas. Neal was a true friend, generous and kind. He loved to travel and was always in search of another fine restaurant. Neal will be missed by his many friends and relatives. In addition to his parents, Neal was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mitchell.
Neal is survived by two nephews, Dr. Ellis Hilton O'Neal (Susan) and Alex Zane O'Neal; one niece Jane Cox Jones (Tim); sister in law, Mary Katherine Cox; host of cousins, and devoted friends.
Pallbearers are Ed Golding, Kip Brown, Shaun Lackey, Ron Davenport, Greg Mitchell, and Robert Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Woods, John Nesbitt, John Neelley, David Neelley, Roland Shaw, and R.H. O'Neal.

Mrs. Gladys Noland Mullins
(December 15, 1916 - March 11, 2008)
Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Noland Mullins of Carrollton will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 14, at Lee Chapel in Winona, with burial to follow in the Evergreen cemetery in North Carrollton. Rev. Gary Tanner and Rev. Leon Holly will officiate the services. Visitation is Thursday, March 13, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, at Lee Funeral Home in Winona, MS.
Mrs. Mullins died of heart failure on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at her residence. She was 91.
Mrs. Mullins was a homemaker and the daughter of the late William Harry Noland and the late Velma Myrtle Carpenter Noland. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Teoc, where she was a member of the Sunshine Circle and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mullins was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Mullins; granddaughter, Brenda James Coliins; sisters, Robbie Meriweather and Vallie Mae Burden; and brothers, Forrest Noland, Ford Noland, James Wade Noland, and Clyde "Tootie" Noland.
Survivors include three daughters, Opal Mullins Caffey of Grenada, Sandra Mullins McKee of Cleveland, Ohio, and Jane Mullins Carver of Carrollton; two sons, S. H. "Buster" Mullins of North Carrollton and Stanley "Sugar" Mullins of North Carrollton; two sisters, Opal Cavaliere of Carrollton and Aylene Miskelley of Port Gibson; one brother, Sonny Noland of Carrollton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be sent to the Evergreen cemetery Fund, North Carrollton, MS 38947.

Charline J. Coleman
(June 6, 1932 - April 18, 2008)
Funeral services for Charline J. Coleman of Winona are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21, at First Baptist Church in Winona, with burial following in Oakwood cemetery in Winona. Visitation will be Sunday, April 20, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Coleman died in a motor vehicle accident on Friday, April 18, in Winona. She was 75.
Mrs. Coleman was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Will Tom Jacks. She was a retired cosmetologist, homemaker, and artist. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lamar Coleman, and a son, Grady Lamar Coleman, Jr.
Survivors include three daughters, Rilda Ann Coleman Moore of McCarley, Constance Olivia Coleman Kim of Winona, Jacqueline Kay Coleman Tannehill of Canton; one son, Zachary Coleman of Byram; four sisters, Vivian Haile of Winona, Carlene Brister of Winona, Joyce Jenkins of Winona, Corrine Johnson of Sebastopol; and a brother, Pat Jacks of Winona.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Radio Ministry, P. O. Box 408, Winona, MS 38967.

Louise McGahey Doolittle Edmondson
(September 15, 1907 - December 7, 2010)
Louise M. Doolittle Edmondson, 103, of Philadelphia, MS, and formerly of Calhoun City, passed away December 7, 2010, at Neshoba County Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be Thursday, December 9, at 2 o’clock pm at Bethany Baptist Church in Slate Springs with visitation from 1-2 pm in the church fellowship hall. Reverend Lawrence Poole of Philadelphia will officiate.
She was born icon on September 15, 1907, to Oscar B. and Maggie Shewmake McGahey in Webster County. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Arlin McGahey, Wallace McGahey, Louis McGahey, Eugene McGahey and Garth McGahey, and her sister, Cora Mae Cole; as well as her husbands, Everette Doolittle and Aubrey Edmondson and her daughter Margaret D. Smith Sullivan.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Bobby Smith (Millie) of Philadelphia, MS, Thomas Smith (Joan) of Lake Wales, FL and Beth Smith Breeland (Woody) of Brookhaven as well as her great grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Josh Smith, Brennan Breeland, Ryan Breeland and AnnaRachel Breeland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, former students, caretakers and friends.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Calhoun City, where she taught Sunday school and was president of the WMU. She attended Trinity Baptist Church, Philadelphia. She was a member of the DAR. She was a long time educator having taught kindergarten in Calhoun City into her 70’s before becoming the Nutrition Site Manager of the Three Rivers Area Agency on Aging until retiring when she was 82.

Sarah Putman Johnson
(July 6, 1945 - April 26, 2011)
Funeral services for Sarah Putman Johnson of Winona will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, at New Hope United Methodist Church in Winona, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Larry Creel and Rev. John L. Walker will officiate the services.
Visitation will be on Thursday, from 9:30 until service time, at New Hope United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Johnson died at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona on Tuesday, April 26. She was 65 years old.
Mrs. Johnson was born icon July 6, 1945, in Winona, Mississippi. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mattie Lou Putman of Winona. She lived her entire adult life in Winona, where she worked at the Motngomery County Courthouse in the Tax Assessor/Collector's office. In 1996, she was elected Tax Assessor/Collector for Montgomery County, and served in this capacity until her retirement in 2007. She loved working with the people in Montgomery County on a daily basis and was always happy to help someone in any way she could. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Winona. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cora Lee Anders.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 47 years, Thomas Johnson; three sons, Jeff Johnson and his wife, Renee, of Brandon, Brad Johnson and his wife, Janelle, of Winona, and Shane Johnson of Fort Rucker, Alabama; five grandchildren, Bailee and Tanner Johnson of Brandon, Jessica Lofton of Brookhaven, Macy and Reese Johnson of Winona; one great-grandchild,
Braylynn Lofton of Winona; a sister, Charlene Giger of Monroe, Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Amason, Phil Giger, Richie Scruggs, William Travis Johnson, Bill Vail, and Michael Vail.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund in Winona.
