Hollis, Elizabeth Sherman
Elizabeth Sherman Hollis, 84, of Charleston, formerly of Memphis, Tennessee, died Saturday, September 7, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 10, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Charleston. Burial was in Sherman cemetery. Newsom Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Hollis was born
June 15, 1918. She was a former school teacher and a bookkeeper for Sayle Oil Co. She was the widow of the late Harris Lane Hollis.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Hollis of Falls Church, Virginia; a son, Sherman Hollis of Enid; and a sister, Virginia Sherman Lavender of Cordova, Tennessee.

Hollister, Danica Danielle
Danica Danielle Hollister, 20, of Water Valley, died Saturday, May 25, 2002, at her home of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 29, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Water Valley. Burial was in Pinecrest Memorial cemetery. Browning Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Hollister, daughter of Dan Hollister and Bessie McCloud, both of Water Valley, was a student at The University of Mississippi. She was a part time employee for the City of Oxford Public Works Department. She was a member of Water Valley Baptist Church, where she was a children's church helper.
Survivors include her parents, Jimmy and Bessie McCloud and Dan and Debbie Hollister, all of Water Valley; a sister, Michelle Hubbard of Grenada; grandparents, Oneil Johnston of Water Valley, Willard Hollister of Senatobia, and Bubba and Agnes McCloud of Batesville.
Memorials may be made to the Water Valley First Baptist Church Children's Fund.
Holston, Mattie Lee
Mattie Lee Holston, 82, of Como, died Sunday, February 3, 2002, at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia of heart disease.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 9, at 1 PM at Mt. Level M.B. Church in Como. Burial was in the church cemetery. Felix Cauthen Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Holston, widow of the late Ed Holston, was a Red Cross usher at Mt. Level M.B. Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Lessie Settles of Como; a son, Walter Pratcher of Como; and five grandchildren.
Host, Monica G.
Monica G. Host, 28, of Sardis, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 7, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Sardis. Rev. Pierre Lyons officiated the service. Burial was in Pleasant Green cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Host, daughter of Melvin and Joann Salter of Sardis, was born
February 23, 1973, in Mississippi. She was a housewife and a member of Mt. Zion M.B. Church.
Survivors, other than her parents, include her husband, Donald D. Host of Sardis; a daughter, Monneasha V. Host of Sardis; a son, Vellderico Butler of Sardis; five sisters, Shameka Wilbourn, Joann O. Salter, LaTessa Salter, Dornesha Salter and Latunya Hines, all of Sardis; five brothers, Tyrus J. Butler, Melvin J. Butler, Rodrigus Salter, Cordarus Salter and John Salter, all of Sardis; a grandmother, Genella Bobo of Sardis; and a great-grandmother, Dorothy Walton of Sardis.

Lucy Willingham House, 91, of Batesville, died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at her home of heart failure.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 18, at 11 a.m. at Sylva Rena Baptist Church cemetery in Yalobusha County. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
House, daughter of the late William David and Vera Magee Willingham, was born
October 16, 1910, in Yalobusha County. She was a homemaker and a member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Hubert F. House.
Survivors include a sister, Deryl Willingham Schmitz of Coffeeville; seven nieces and a nephew.

Lillie Wilson "Mamaw" Howard, 78, of Batesville, died Wednesday, February 13, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford of heart failure.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 15, from 5 PM to 8 PM Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 16, at 2 PM at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Howard, daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Sula Bell Wilson, was born
October 17, 1923, in Dell, Arkansas. She was a homemaker, and a member of Blackjack Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Charles Darden Howard.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Howard Redmon of Batesville; two sisters, Mabel Harrison of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Christine Rohr of Seattle, Washington; a brother, Walton Wilson of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blackjack Baptist Church.

Jerry Taylor Howell, 62, of Memphis, Tennessee, formerly of Senatobia, died Friday, June 21, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 24, at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Chapel Hill cemetery in Pope. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Howell, daughter of the late Curtis and Inez Newman Taylor, was born
September 3, 1939, in Pope. She was a school teacher for 28 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Senatobia.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan S. Howell of Memphis; a son, Jamie W. Howell, Jr. of Memphis; a sister, Marilyn Taylor Hudson of Pawley's Island, South Carolina; and two grandchildren.
Hubbard Baby Boy
Baby Boy Hubbard was stillborn Sunday, May 5, 2002, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 11, at 11 a.m. at Springhill ASA cemetery in Courtland. Rev. Louis Wilson officiated the service. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. had charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, Terry Hubbard and Darlene Benner, both of Batesville; two sisters, Ledra W. Hubbard and Terri R. Hubbard, both of Courtland; grandparents, Jessie and B. Eunice Grace Hudson, 99, of Enid, died Thursday, May 23, 2002, at Senatobia Convalescent Center of heart failure.

Hudson, daughter of the late William Henry and Minnie Ruth McCachren Grace, was born
April 2, 1903, in Panola County. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She was the widow of the late Alton S. Hudson.

Hudson, Gene
Gene Hudson, 69, of Clarksdale, died Saturday, August 24, 2002, at Mississippi Firefighters Burn Center in Greenville due to injuries received at work.
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 29, at 10 a.m. at National Funeral Chapel. Rev. Joel Stroud officiated the service. Burial was in Memorial Gardens cemetery. National Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Hudson was born
September 5, 1932, in Sardis. He was a security guard for North Delta Compress. He retired in 1998 from Stephens-Adamson Mfg. after 35 years of employment. He was a member of V.F.W. Post No. 3936, the American Legion, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of Lyon Baptist Church, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved gardening and raising vegetables.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Hudson of Clarksdale; three sons, David Hudson of Zanesville, Ohio, Dennis Hudson of Clarksdale and Darrell Hudson of Morenci, Arizona; four sisters, Mattie Arnold and Jewell Blackburn, both of Trenton, Tennessee, Gracie Gaines of Clarksdale and Edna Smith of Batesville; four brothers, Charles Hudson of Friars Point, Bobby Hudson of Lyon, Robert Hudson, Jr. of Wister, Oklahoma, and Joel Hudson of Drew; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mattie Zelma Hudson, 97, of Como, died Monday, April 15, 2002, at her home of heart failure.
