Locke, Patricia King
Patricia King Locke, 59, of Batesville, died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at her home of cancer.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 11, at 2 p.m. at Goodwill Church of God. Rev. Jerry Hill and Rev. Eugene Howell officiated the service. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Locke, daughter of the late William Edward and Bena Carson King, was born icon August 4, 1942, in Lambert. She was a retired elementary school teacher of Lambert and Marks schools, a homemaker and a member of Locke Station Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard H. "Bud" Locke, Sr. of Batesville; a daughter, Bena Louise Locke Cullom of Summit; three sons, Leonard H. Locke, Jr. and Stephen A. Locke, both of Batesville, and James Edward Locke of Marks; a sister, Margaret King Horne of Grenada; a brother, William "Bill" King of Silver Springs, Maryland; and seven grandchildren.

Long, Phillip Newell
Phillip Newell Long, 53, of Myrtle died Monday, November 25, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany.

Services were at United Funeral Service Chapel. Dr. Lou Zemek officiated services. Interment was at Bethel cemetery. United Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Long was an investigator with the Union County Sheriff's Department. He was a former Highway Patrolman and a former veterans service officer. He was a member of the Army Reserve, the American Legion, and the Rocky Ford Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Riley Long of Myrtle; two daughters, Amy Cummins of Drew and Brooke Long of Jonesboro, AR; four sisters, Beverly White, Marca Simmerman, and Renya Wolfe, all of Sardis, and Brenda Stokes of Jackson; and one brother, Gaal Long of Sardis.

Lynam, Harold B.
Harold B. Lynam, 73, of Batesville, died Monday, February 11, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - East in Memphis, Tennessee, of cancer.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 13, at 10 AM at First United Methodist Church in Batesville. Rev. Don Lewis and Rev. Martin Case officiated the service. Burial was in Stanton, Delaware. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Lynam, son of the late Raymond B. and Mary Appleby Lynam, was born icon February 6, 1929, in Stanton, Delaware. He was a retired product training manager for Sperry New Holland Corp., where he was employed for 36 years. He attended the U.S. Military Academy and was a Second Lt. in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was chairman of the Panola County Republican Party, MSSDA Private Industry Council, chairman of the Coordination Committee and a member of The Executive Committee. He was chairman of The Bush for President in Panola County and was elected delegate to the National Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, the late George Lynam. Survivors include his wife, Anne Lynam of Batesville; a sister, Carrie Naudain of Hockessin, Delaware; two nieces and two nephews.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.

Mamon, Billy Joe Harris
Billy Joe Harris Mamon, 42, of Sardis, died Saturday, September 28, 2002, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 3, at 2 p.m. at Macedonia M.B. Church. Rev. W. L. Nash officiated the service. Burial was in the church cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. had charge of arrangements.

Mamon, son of the late J.D. Parker and Avelma Mamon, was born icon February 19, 1960, in Batesville, He was an employee of Federal Express and a member of Mt. Evia M.B. Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Mamon of Pope; a son, Joshua Mamon of Pope; four sisters, Stella Lee of Southaven, Edith Mamon and Joann Mamon, both of Sardis, and Rosie Smith of Detroit, Michigan; and two brothers, Jimmy Mamon of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Charles Mamon of Gary, Indiana.

Mayo, Phil Edwin
Phil Edwin Mayo, 62, of Courtland, died Sunday, February 2, 2002, at the V.A. Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 6, at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Baines officiated the service. Burial was in Lovejoy cemetery. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Mayo, son of the late Paul Edwin and Marjorie Jones Mayo, was born icon June 16, 1939, in Water Valley. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Water Valley.

Survivors include two daughters, G.G. Mayo Massey of Hernando and Molly Mayo Coley of Collierville, Tennessee; a son, Phil Mayo of Birmingham, Alabama; two sisters, Janelle Mayo Loar of Memphis, Tennessee, and Margie Dale Mayo MacAlexander of Hudson, Florida; a brother, Brandon "Pee Wee" Mayo of Water Valley; and five grandchildren.

McCullar, Ethel Avery
Ethel Avery McCullar, 74, of Batesville, died Tuesday, February 12, 2002, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center of cancer.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, at 11 AM at Dickins Chapel. Rev. Dr. John A. Jones and Rev. Dr. Lee Hudson will officiate the service. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. Dickins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

McCullar, daughter of the late Fennel Montgomery and Mary Trammel Grant, was born icon March 7, 1927, in Oxford. She was a seamstress for Panola Mills, a homemaker and a member of North Batesville Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Smith of Batesville; two sons, Boyd Goodnight, Jr., of Southaven and Billy Goodnight of Batesville; two sisters, Annie Mills of Sardis, and Christine Brummett of Oxford; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Cancer Survivors Camp Blue Bird, c/o Tom Swindle, 911 President Ave., Tupelo, Miss. 38801.

McCurdy, Charles
Charles McCurdy, 72, of Batesville, died Thursday, February 14, 2002, at his home of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 16, at 11 AM at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. William Foster and Rev. Jess Chadwick officiated the service. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

McCurdy, son of the late Lawrence and Louise McCullar McCurdy, was born icon July 24, 1929, in Panola County. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Sardis.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian McCurdy of Batesville; a daughter, Jeana McCurdy Douglas of Batesville; a son, Charles McCurdy, Jr., of Memphis, Tennessee; four step-daughters, Mona Gilley and Paula Blackwood, both of Water Valley, Shelia Jones of Cabot, Arkansas, and Cindy Keel of Bruce; a step-son, Tim Kelsoe of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Geraldine McCurdy Holliday of Memphis, Tennessee; a brother, L. B. McCurdy of Batesville; and 12 grandchildren.

Fairbee, Jontavious Ja'Von
Jontavious Ja'Von Fairbee was stillborn Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.

A graveside service was held at Eureka cemetery at 1 p.m.

Survivors include parents John Fairbee and Kailonni Stewart; Grandparents Ted and Patricia Stewart of Batesville, Shelia Sharp of Naples, Fla.; Danny and Mary Sanford of Courtland; and John Fairbee, Sr. of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Tyler C. Fairbee; and two sisters, Kamyia T. Stewart and Breyuna K. Riley.

Fancher, Robert T. "Bob"
Robert T. "Bob" Fancher, 65, of Darling, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at the Quitman County Hospital.

Services were Thursday at Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Burial was at Marks cemetery. Rev. Mike Smithey officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.

Fancher, born icon Aug. 5, 1937, to the late W.C. "Bill" Fancher and the late Quitman Harper Fancher, was a retired farmer, a member of West Marks Baptist Church, Mississippi National Guard, a member of Children of the American Revolution and an avid Ole Miss fan.

Memorials may be made to West Marks Baptist Church, LeBonheur Children's Medical Center or The American Heart Association.

Faulkner, Edward Bowden "Sonny"
Edward Bowden "Sonny" Faulkner, 72, of Sardis, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center of heart failure.

Services were Sunday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Rose Hill cemetery. Rev. Paul Middleton officiated. Moore Funeral Home had charge.

Faulkner, born icon July 15, 1931, to the late John Edward Faulkner and the late Emma Bowden Faulkner, was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter Beth Daniels of Coldwater; one brother James Milton Faulkner of Batesville and one grandchild.

Faulkner, James Ella
James Ella Faulkner, 80, of Senatobia, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia.

Services were Saturday at Springfield M.B. Church in Senatobia. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Meyers Sr. officiated. Moore Funeral Home had charge.

Faulkner, born icon Oct. 25, 1923, to the late James Jones and the late Amanda Small Jones, was a housewife. She was also a member of Springfield M.B. Church.

Survivors include her husband Eugene Faulkner of Senatobia; three daughters, Rose Ann Jennings, Dorothy Bradley and Patricia Faulkner, all of Senatobia; nine sons, Glenn Faulkner, Lonnie Faulkner, Leon Faulkner, Stanley Faulkner, Eugene Faulkner Jr. and Wayne Faulkner, all of Senatobia, Jerry Faulkner and Johnny Faulkner, both of Como and Willie Faulkner of Sardis; one sister Jeppie Lyles of Chicago, Ill.; four brothers, Tommy Jones and Slayton Jones of Senatobia, Modie Jones of Memphis and Willie Jones of Valdosta, Ga.; 28 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Fenger, Mary Sue Sneed
Mary Sue Sneed Fenger, 81, of Oxford, died Friday, May 16, 2003, at Beverly Health Care in Southaven.

Services were Sunday at Oxford-University United Methodist Church. Burial was at St. Peter's cemetery. Rev. Margorie Buckley and Rev. Martin Case officiated. Waller Funeral Home had charge.

Fenger was a retired secretary in the Admissions Office charged with Veterans Affairs at the University of Mississippi, a member of Oxford University United Methodist Church, in the Pilot Club and Bridge Club, she enjoyed painting, sewing, gardening and Ole Miss sports.

She is preceded in death by her husband George Alfred Fenger Sr.

Survivors include one daughter Cheryl Fenger Beene of Olive Branch; one son George Alfred "Al" Fenger Jr. of Oxford; one brother Payne Sneed of Oxford and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Oxford University United Methodist Church, 424 South 10th Street, Oxford, Miss. 38655.
