Palmer, Ola M.
Ola M. Palmer, 100, of Olive Branch, died Wednesday, January 16, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare in Southaven of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 19, at 10 a.m. at Broadway Baptist Church. Burial was in New Hope cemetery in Como. Forest Hill South had charge of arrangements.
Palmer was the widow of the late Otis M. Palmer. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Baptist Women's Association.
Survivors include four daughters, Ola May Finety of Birmingham, Alabama, Marian P. Thompson of Olive Branch, Eveyln P. Gregory of Memphis, Tennessee, and Ruth Goodnight of Southaven, 21 grandchildren, 49 great-grand-children and two great, great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Broadway Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
Panzer, Raymond Ralph
Raymond Ralph Panzer, 78, of Pope, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at Dickins Chapel. Rev. Doug Pepper officiated the service. Burial was in Magnolia cemetery in Batesville. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Panzer, son of the late George William and Harriet Miller Panzer, was born
April 22, 1924, in Waukegan, Illinois. He was a retired die caster and carpenter for Johnson Outboard Motor Corp. He was a U.S. Marines veteran of World War II. He and his wife, Peggy, served as volunteers for the U.S. Veterans at Great Lakes, Illinois and Oxford for 45 years. He was a member of the Gurnee Legion Post for 45 years and served one year as commander. For his dedication, he was awarded a paid lifetime membership. He was a member of the Young at Heart Club at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church and the Keenagers at the First Baptist Church in Batesville. He was also a member of the Triad Club of Panola County. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a grandson, Aaron Chlopek.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Peggy Jane Maciejewski Panzer of Pope; two daughters, Eunice Haney of Waukegan and Gail Panzer Collins of Delavan, Wisconsin; a grandson, Michael Mellon of Waukegan; two granddaughters, Natasha Brothers of Moyoch, North Carolina, and Kereana Chlopek of Delavan; five great-granddaughters and a great-grandson.
Parnell, Marvin Floyd
Marvin Floyd Parnell, 95, of Boulder, Colorado, formerly of Sardis, died Friday, February 15, 2002, at The Boulder Manor of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 23, at 1 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike Colston of Central H eights Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama, officiated the service. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. Moore Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Parnell, son of the late Marvin Ford and Pattie Francis Floyd Parnell, was born
February 10, 1907, in the Pleasant Grove community. He graduated from Tate County Agricultural High School in 1926. He was a retired farmer and a member of Central Heights Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama. He was the widower of the late Tommye Ester Raiford Parnell.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Anne Thomas-Dodd of Charleston, South Carolina; a son, Robert Ford Parnell of Boulder, Colorado; three brothers, James Wallace Parnell of Southaven, Daniel Reid Parnell of Collierville, Tennessee, and Steven Cameron Parnell of Norwood, Louisiana; and two grandchildren.

Patrick, Evelyn Joiner
Evelyn Joiner Patrick, 92, of Sardis, died Saturday, January 19, 2002, at Graceland Care Center in Oxford of renal failure.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 21, at 11 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. William Johnson officiated the services. Burial was in Cold Springs cemetery. Moore Funeral Home had change of arrangements.
Patrick, daughter of the late Louis Davis and Zula Goodnight Foster, was born
October 18, 1909, in the Blackjack community. She was a seamstress and a member of Cold Sorings Methodist Church. She was the widow of the late James Loyd Joiner and the late Harold D. Patrick. She was preceded in death by two sons, Greekly Loyd Joiner and Ernest Lee Joiner.
Survivors included four daughters, Marie J. Mehan of Pope, Ruby J. Beardmore of Sardis, Katie J. Woolfolk of Senatobia, and Shirley J. Alexander of Foley, Alabama; two sons, James Earl Joiner of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Bill Joiner of Batesville; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
Patterson, Michael Gene
Michael Gene Patterson, 45, of Batesville, died Saturday, September 28, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - DeSoto in Southaven of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 30, at 2 p.m. at Dickins Chapel. Rev. Bobby Bell officiated the service. Burial was in Lambert cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Patterson, son of the late Billy Joe and Mary Jean Turman Patterson, was born
July 27, 1957, in Marks. He was a painter.
Survivors include a sister, Joann Ware of Batesville; a brother, Jimmy Dale Patterson of Batesville; three nieces and a nephew.
Youngblood, Regina Agostinelli
Regina Agostinelli Youngblood, 85, of Tupelo, died Monday, September 23, 2002, at her home of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 25, at 1 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Father Kent Bowlds officiated the service. Burial was in Barbee cemetery in Lula. Nowell Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Youngblood was born
May 19, 1917, in Duncan. She was a housewife. She was also a communicant of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, James William Youngblood of Clarksdale and Michael Everett Youngblood of Batesville; a daughter, Rita Youngblood Allen of Lyon; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Lou Pearson, 60, of Water Valley, died Wednesday, September 4, 2002, at Graceland Care Center in Oxford of heart failure.

Pearson, daughter of Willie B. Cooper of Water Valley and the late Ben Watson, was born
February 9, 1942, in Bruce. She was a homemaker and a member of Chapel Hill M.B. Church.
Survivors, other than her mother, include her husband, Robert Pearson of Racine, Wisconsin; four daughters, Dollie Cannon of Water Valley, Ethel Watson of Colorado, Robbin Watson and Latonya Pearson, both of Racine; three sisters, Gerldine Booker, Evelyn Turner and Mary Cooper, all of Water Valley; two brothers, J.C. Cooper of Water Valley and James Cooper of Coffeeville; grandparents, Elizabeth Blount of Canton and Earnest Cook of Goodman; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Jean Underwood Perkins, 75, of Sardis, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford of heart failure.

Perkins, daughter of the late Frank Cluster and Ethel Mansel Underwood, was born
February 12, 1927, in Ittawamba County. She was a retired employee of Panola Mills and a Presbyterian.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Perkins of Batesville; a son, Johnnie Newell of Tupelo; three sisters, Obie Jenkins of Batesville, Nell Armstrong of Tupelo and Lavell Young of Fulton; a brother, Jimmy Underwood of Fulton; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Eddie Mae Perry, 80, of Marks, died Friday, May 3, 2002, at Northwest Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale of heart failure.

April 5, 1922, in Starkville. She was a housewife and a member of Shelton Grove M.B. Church in Marks.
Survivors include a daughter, Bessie Roberson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two sons, Tony Fox and Tommy Fox, both of Marks; two brothers, Alonzo Kelly and L.B. Kelly, both of Marks; 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
Peyton, Bonnie Wallace
Bonnie Wallace Peyton, 80, of Independence, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at her home of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 30, at 11 a.m. at Independence United Methodist Church. Rev. E. Truman Thompson, Rev. W. L. Wallace and Rev. David Cross officiated the service. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery in Independence. C.O. Pate Funeral Home in Senatobia had charge of arrangements.
Peyton was a retired teacher for the public school system, and a long standing member of Independence United Methodist Church. She was the widow of the late Hubert Floyd Peyton.
Survivors include two daughters, Micki Montanio of Dallas, Texas, and Robbye Anglin of Germantown, Tennessee; a son, Virgil Peyton of Jonesboro, Arkansas; her mother, Louise Burford Wallace of Independence; a sister, Joy Robison of Batesville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Phillips, Robert R.
Robert R. Phillips, 78, of Batesville, died Monday, May 20, 2002, at Methodist Hospital - Central in Memphis, Tennessee, of heart failure.

Phillips, son of the late Percy and Tipton Merandy Phillips, was born
January 6, 1930, in Coila. He was a self-employed carpenter and owner of Phillips Construction Co. He was a member of Macedonia M.B. Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a private first class in the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953.
Survivors include his wife, Vergie Phillips of Batesville; four sons, Joe Thompson of Batesville, Lewis Charles Davis of Greenwood, Wilson Phillips and Melvin Phillips, both of St. Louis, Missouri; a brother, Jessie Lee Phillips of Slidell, Louisiana; two sisters, Sarah E. Jordan and Bessie B. Smith, both of Coila; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pinion, John Wayne
John Wayne Pinion, 28, of Sledge, died Friday, July 26, 2002, near Sledge from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Graveside services were held Sunday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at Longtown cemetery. John Parker officiated the service. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Pinion, son of Gary Lee and Shirley Lee Forsythe Pinion of Sledge, was born
July 5, 1974, in Marks.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include two brothers, James William Pinion of Connecticut and Gary Charles Pinion of Arkansas; his grandparents, Elizabeth and Wilson Pinion of Sledge and Leeone and Clyde Teuton of Jackson, Tenn.
