Dees, Edith Inez
Edith Inez Dees, 70, of Enid, died Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at her residence.
Services were Thursday at First Assembly of God. Burial was at Bethel cemetery. Rev. Larry Turner and Rev. Donald Mullins officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Nov. 30, 1932, to the late Duncan Dillard Dees and the late Gladys Inez Turner Dees was a member of First Assembly of God, graduated from Draughn's Business College of Memphis and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two brothers, Dillard Guy Dees and Roger Dees, both of Enid; five sisters, Bessie Havens of Southaven, Joyce Reeves of Linden, Tenn., Emilie Faulkner of Courtland, Marcia Swift of Germantown and Kaye Hutton of Flatwoods, Tenn.
Delgado, Jesus "Jessie"
Jesus "Jessie" Delgado, 83, of Batesville, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at his residence.
Services were at Batesville Magnolia cemetery. Rev. Tino Trevino officiated. Dickens Funeral Home had charge.
Delgado, born
Feb. 28, 1919, to the late Justo Delgado and the late Anita Delgado, was a member of Primer Mission Bautista and did maintenance for the City of Batesville. He also sold produce.
Survivors include three daughters, Juanita Wallace, Anita Louge and Wanda Delgado all of Batesville; two brothers, Domingo Delgado and Jose Delgado both of Texas; and one sister, Margareta Delgado of Texas.
Denton, Donald "Donnie" Wayne Sr.
Donald "Donnie" Wayne Denton Sr., 56, of Lyon died Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at his residence of a heart attack.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at Newson Funeral Home in Charleston. Burial will be at Bethel cemetery in Enid. Newsom Funeral Home has charge.

Nov. 2, 1946, to Lucille Hamblin Browning of Webb, was a truck driver.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife Patricia Goad Denton of Lyon; one daughter Allison Heafner of Batesville; five sons, Donnie Wayne Denton Jr. and Ricky Denton, both of Round Lake; Jeff Denton of Moon Lake; Bryan Heafner of Charleston; and Scotty Heafner of Horn Lake; two sisters, Nina Holden of Drew and Glenda Gray of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother Jimmy Browning of Charleston and 15 grandchildren.
Dettor, Jannie Lou McClain
Jannie Lou McClain Dettor, 69, of Batesville, died Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at North Mississippi Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Services were Friday at Dickins Chapel. Burial was at Black Jack cemetery. Rev. Jerry Smith officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

Feb. 15, 1934, to Vester McClain and the late Nancey Idell Potts McClain, was a homemaker and a member of Black Jack Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Davis Dettor.
Survivors include three sons, James Dettor, Johnny Dettor and Joe Dettor, all of Batesville; three daughters, Lynda Hernandez of Ft. Worth, Texas, Laura Walters and Jannie Alexander, both of Batesville; three sisters, Faye McCormick, Ruthie Pierce, both of Oxford and Jewell Hollinger of Sardis; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Georgiana Dodd, 78, of Batesville, died Wednesday, September 10, 2003, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center.
Services are Thursday at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Batesville at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Macedonia cemetery. Rev. W.L. Nash will officiate. Cooley's Mortuary has charge.
Dodd, born
Oct. 22, 1924, to the late Elias Wilson and the late Clara Lightfoot Wilson, was a member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church, a retired ICS Headstart worker and a choir member.
Survivors include eight daughters, Janice Dodd, Belinda Dodd, Charlene Griffin, all of Batesville, Debbie Lloyd of Pope, Clara King of Marks, Annie Jean McKenzie, Mae Ella Washington, both of Oakland, Calif. and Priscilla Montgomery of Huntsville, Ala.; one son Vincent E. Dodd of Batesville; three sisters, Melzinie Figgs of Oakland, Calif., Daisy Partee of Berkeley, Calif. and Clara Robinson of Oakland, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Dodd, Tobe Nolan
Tobe Nolan Dodd, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Services were Tuesday at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. Rev. Wes Sherman officiated.
Dodd, born
May 4, 1923, to Rena Kirksey of Batesville, was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include, other than his mother, one brother, Sam Dodd of Batesville; three sisters, Lucille Haddock of Monroe, La., Jean Kelly of Itta Bena, and Helen Guest of Koscuisko; two daughters, Rose Marie Coon of Pensacola, Fla., and Ginne Kay Coon of Maine; one step-daughter Teresa Talley of Germany; and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.
Duffy, Charles Andrew
Charles Andrew Duffy, 48, of Como, formerly of Memphis, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Timothy Episcopal Church in Southaven, Miss. Interment will be at St. Timothy Columbarium Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 21 at St. Timothy Episcopal Church from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home in Hernando had charge.
Duffy was a former dealer for the Grand Casino in Tunica and a graduate of White Station High School in Memphis, Tenn. He was also a graduate of the University of Miss. in Oxford, Miss, and a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. He served as a communicant for St. Timothy Episcopal Church in Southaven.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lu Duffy of Como; one son, Clayton Andrew Duffy of Como; his father, Frank H. Duffy of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Lynn Whetherholt of California and Leigh Iwaszkowiec of St. Peters, Mo.; and one brother, Frank H. Duffy, Jr. of Memphis, Tenn.

Dulany, Ripple Underwood
Ripple Underwood Dulany, 78, homemaker, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at her home in Fulton. She was born
Sept. 21, 1924, to Leroy Underwood and Evelyn Elevea Johnson Underwood in Itawamba County, Miss. She was a member of the Fulton Church of Christ. Services were held Sunday, January 5, 2003, at Senter Funeral Home in Fulton with interment in Pine Grove cemetery. Officiating the services were ministers Thomas J. Mahan of Drew and Timothy L. Howard of Fulton.
Mrs. Dulany, the widow of Vecil Cleeton Dulany, leaves two daughters, Martha Jo Dulany Hadorn and husband David, and Evelyn Jann Dulany Guntharp and husband Elliot, both of Fulton; two sons, Arlie Vecil Dulany and Charlie Cecil Dulany and wife Janice, both of Batesville; two grandchildren, August David Hadorn, Jr. and wife Renee and Joseph Dulany Hadorn, both of Fulton; three great grandchildren, Abbigail Renee Hadorn, August David Hadorn, III, and Allison Dulany Hadorn, all of Fulton. She is survived by four sisters, Shalar Underwood Moore of Amory, Gloria Underwood Jones of of Tupelo, Beatrice Underwood Lyle and Laura Underwood Hubbard, both of Southaven; three brothers, Stanley Underwood and Joe Wayne Underwood both Fulton, and Buddy Underwood of Tupelo.
Mrs. Dulany was a resident of Batesville from 1954 until 1980. She was a homemaker, seamstress and supervisor at Panola, Inc. Mrs. Dulany was an active member of the Batesville Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for many years. The family requests that any memorials be sent to a Christian organization of choice.
Dunn, Juanita Herring
Juanita Herring Dunn, 74, of Oxford, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson of heart failure.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 3, at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time, Friday, Jan. 3. Interment will be at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville. Well Funeral Home have charge of arrangements.
Dunn, born
Feb. 12, 1928, to the late Robert Lee and Alma Johnson Herring in Quitman County, was a retired clerical secretary of 20 years for Soterra, Inc.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Dunn Mosley of Oxford; two sons David Dunn of Jackson and Woodrow Dunn of Sacramento, Cal.; one sister, Wilma Herring Snell of Jackson; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Frank Dye, 58, of Batesville, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi.
Services are today at noon at St. Luke M.B. Church in Tippo. Rev. J. H. Brown will officiate. Burial is in the church cemetery.

April 17, 1945, to the late Jack Dye and the late Pauline Tabor, was disabled and a member of St. Luke M.B. Church.
Survivors include his wife Annie Brown Dye of Crossett, Ark.; three daughters Sallie Hunt and Carolyn Ware, both of Batesville and Frances Tucker of Crossett, Ark.; two brothers, Roosevelt Dye and Ben Dye, both of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Katherine McGregory and Lizzie Swearenger, both of Minneapolis, Minn. and Thelma Gordon of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Robert Lindsey Dye, 75, of Pope, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at his home of heart failure.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Forrest Memorial Park. Rev. Kevin Crofford officiated services. Wells Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Dye, born
Aug. 19, 1927, in Union County to the late George Spencer and the late Nannie Bedwell Dye, was a retired Chief of the U.S. Corp of Engineers Drege Boat ÒPotterÓ and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and Korean Conflict. He was a member of Longcrest Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Merle Duke Dye of Pope; three daughters, Jean Dye Darby and Bonnie Dye Skelton both of Pope, and June Dye of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Jimmy Dye and Larry Dye also of Pope; one sister Rudell Dye Bedwell of Pensacola. Fla.; two brothers, Dewitt Dye and Edward Dye both of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Sartin, Hershel
Hershel Sartin, 77, of Batesville, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002 at his home of hearth failure.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. at Dickins Chapel. Rev. Steve Cannon officiated the service. Burial followed in Curtis Union cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Sartain, son of the late William and Florence Roberson Sardis, was born
April 27, 1925, in Water Valley. He was a heavy equipment operator and a veteran of World War II. He received Asiatic Pacific Campaign medal with two bronze service stars and one bronze Arrowhead Philippine Liberation with one bronze star, Good Conduct Medal for World War II and a Victory Medal.
Survivors include four sons, John Sartin, Carl Sartin, Clinton Sartin and Glenn Sartin, all of Batesville; one daughter, Sue Tubbs of Water Valley; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
