Doyle Edwin Atchley, 78, of Southaven, died Friday, May 30, 2003, at Health South.

Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Burial will be at Memphis Memory Gardens. Memphis Funeral Home has charge.

Atchley was retired from the U.S. Air Force and a hospital administrator and was a member of Southaven United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Velda Littlepage Atchley; one daugther Lisa Kutch of Oxford; two sons, George Atchley of Birmingham, Ala. and Jeff Atchley of Collierville, Tenn.; two brothers, Jimmy Atchley of Dallas, Texas and Max Atchley of New Boston, Texas; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Austin, La Shonia Yvette
La Shonia Yvette Austin, 24, of Memphis, died Friday, September 19, 2003, of a homicide.

Services were Wednesday at Second Concord M.B. 4-Way Church in Batesville. Burial was at Second Concord cemetery. Rev. Joseph Wilson officiated. Cooley's Mortuary had charge.

Austin, born icon Nov. 13, 1978, to Larry Donell Strong of Marks and Deloris Austin of Batesville, was an assistant lab technician at the West Clinic in Memphis, a member of Second Concord M.B. Church, an usher, and a choir member.

Survivors include her daughter Shundria Austin of Batesville; her parents, Deloris Austin of Batesville and Larry Donell Strong of Marks; her grandparents, Eugene and Bobbie Austin of Batesville; her grandfather Roy Strong of Belen; two brothers, Rodney D. Fondren of Batesville and Philip D. Cole of San Andreas, Calif. and one sister LaQuil Andrew of Batesville.

COX, Glennie
MEMPHIS, TENN. - Glennie Cox, 83, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, in Memphis.

Services are tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Olive Ray M.B. Church in Pope. Rev. L.C. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Olive Ray cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary has charge.

Cox, born icon April 3, 1921, in Courtland to the late Rev. Milton T. Jones and the late Martha Cox, was a homemaker, member of Olive Ray M.B. Church, church mother, deaconess, Sunday school teacher and adult Bible class teacher. She was also in the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include four daughters, Teresa Lucille Austin of Memphis, Tenn., Gracie Jordan of Chicago, Ill., Betty Johnson of Harvey, Ill. and Faye Austin Wallace of Castro Valley, Calif.; five sons, Micheal A. Austin of Batesville, Sherman Austin Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., Jimmie L. Austin of Chicago, Ill., Milton T. Austin of Houston, Texas and Lucius Stanley Austin of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister Massie Austin of Harvey, Ill.; three step - daughters, Estelle Glasco of Sardis, Katherine Lloyd of Pope and Marie Daniels of Memphis, Tenn.; two step - sons, Selve "S.V." Cox of Courtland and James Eddie "Bill" Cox of Memphis, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great - grandchildren and three great - great - grandchildren.

HADORN, Robbie Lee Geeslin
BATESVILLE - Robbie Lee Geeslin Hadorn, 68, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Delta Medical Center in Memphis.

Services were Thursday at Sardis Lake Baptist Church. Rev. Kevin Crofford officiated. Burial was in Union cemetery in Sardis. Wells Funeral Home had charge.

Hadorn, born icon Sept. 1, 1936, to Calvin and Nancy Varner Geeslin, was a member of Sardis Lake Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Fred Milton Hadorn of Batesville; five daughters, Carol Hadorn Ware of Grenada, Nancy Hadorn Roper, Betty Hadorn McElhaney, Brenda Hadorn Brewer, all of Batesville and Deborah Hadorn Kling of Monticello, Ark.; one son Steve M. Hadorn of Batesville; three sisters, Elsie Geeslin Hadorn of Batesville, Mildred Geeslin Kassis of Frensno, Calif. and Linda Geeslin McClure of Olive Branch; 21 grandchildren and 31 great - grandchildren.

HUGHES, John Norman
COMO - John Norman Hughes, 57, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Baptist Hospital in Oxford.

Services were Wednesday at C.O. Pate Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial was in Senatobia Memorial cemetery. Forest South Funeral Home had charge.

Hughes was a member of Harmontown Baptist Church, a retired truck driver, a graduate of Messick High School and a graduate of Mississippi State University.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Faye Hughes.

Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Hughes Gossett and Jessica Erin Hughes, both of Oxford and one son Chris Hughes of Senatobia; his mother, Virginia B. Hughes.

OLIVER, Lillie Bell
BATESVILLE - Lillie Bell Oliver, 84, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at her residence.

Services are Sunday at 1 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church. Rev. Gregory Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary has charge.

Oliver, born icon Feb. 4, 1921, in Batesville to the late Harry Pegues and the late Ellen Kimmons, was a homemaker and a member of Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church.

Survivors include eight daughters, Eva Hentz of Pope, Wanda Oliver and Erica Harris, both of Batesville, Annie Bell Brooks of Oakland, Calif., Gloria Oliver of Fresno, Calif., Dorothy Mobley of San Jose, Calif., Bernice Shaw of Haywood, Calif. and Joyce Oliver of Stockon, Calif.; three sons, Lawrence Oliver of Memphis, Tenn., Stanley Oliver of Atlanta, Ga., and Willie Ed Oliver of Oakland, Calif.; two sisters, Bertha Young of Batesville and Minnie Lee Caldwell of Ben Harbour, Mich.; 27 grandchildren; 42 great - grandchildren and six great - great - grandchildren.

ROBINSON, Geneva "Navy"
CHICAGO, ILL. - Geneva "Navy" Robinson, 72, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Ill. She was formerly of Pope.

Services are tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Nelson Chapel M.B. Church in Pope. Rev. Melvin Ellis will officiate. Burial will be in Pope Chapel cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary has charge.

Robinson, born icon Oct. 28, 1932, in Pope to the late Willie Bill Ware and the late Erma Green, was a homemaker and a member of Kelly United Methodist Church in Chicago, Ill.

Survivors include three sisters, Earlene Ellis of Pope, Ruth Ellis of Chicago, Ill. and Louise Gathright of L.A., Calif. and four brothers, Fred Ellis, Hulit Ellis and C.W. Ellis, all of Cleveland, Ohio and George Ellis of Detroit, Mich.

SHEGOG, Tommie
BATESVILLE - Tommie Shegog, 83, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at Tri - Lakes Medical Center.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church in Enid. Minister Doris McCollins will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery in Enid. Cooley's Mortuary has charge.

Shegog, born icon June 1, 1921, in Pope, to the late Robert "Bob" Shegog and the late Blanche Morgan, was retired from the Sardis Lake Corps of Engineers, a member of Mt. Zion M.B. Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army during 1942 - 1946.

Survivors include one step - daughter Diane Chaney of OFullon, Ill.; one sister Althea Shegog Copeland of Chicago, Ill.; one nephew who cared for him David Swearenger of Marks; two nieces who cared for him, Blanche Louis Stewart of Memphis, Tenn. and Anita Semper of Forestville, Md.; five grandchildren; 10 great - grandchildren and four great - great - grandchildren.

SWAIN, Colandie Troxel
BATESVILLE - Colandie Troxel Swain, 41, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at her residence in Batesville of heart failure.

Services are tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Singleton Springs cemetery in Strayhorn. Wells Funeral Home has charge.

Swain, born icon Jan. 3, 1964, in Houston, Texas, to the late Walter Thomas and Kitty Fuller Cantrell, was a Baptist.

Survivors along with her mother include her husband Michael C. Swain of Batesville; one son Timothy Dywayne Cloud of Batesville; her step - father Wayne Troxel of Brownwood, Texas; two brothers, Paul Lawson and Tony Lawson, both of Brownwood; three half - sisters, Carol Lawson of Brownwood, Texas, Teresa Ann Lawson and Melissa Swearingen, both of Saratoga, Texas and one half - brother James Cantrell of Saratoga, Texas.

WALKER, Thyra Mae
BATESVILLE - Thyra Mae Walker, 80, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Tri - Lakes Medical Center of heart failure.

Services are today at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home. Visitation is today from noon until service time.

Walker, born icon April 20, 1924, in Union, was a homemaker.

Survivors include four daughters, Mildred Faye Walker of Houston, Texas; Bettye Jo Walker Byars of Sardis, Marjorie Lynn Walker of Cordova, Tenn. and Tyra Jean Walker Neville of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister Frances Cleveland Everette of Odessa, Texas; one brother James Arthur Cleveland of Odessa, Texas; three grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.

DANIEL, Rita Lashelle Jones
SARDIS - - Rita Lashelle Jones Daniel, 33, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at her residence of natural causes.

Services were Tuesday at Cistern Hill M.B. Church in Como. Rev. Cedric Richardson officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery in Sardis. Eddie Robinson and Son Funeral Home had charge.

Daniel, born icon March 14, 1971, was a homemaker and a member of Cistern Hill M.B. Church.

Survivors include her husband Christopher M. Daniel of Sardis; one daughter Myneika L. Daniel of Sardis; one son Christopher Daniel Jr. of Sardis and her mother Bennie M. Gipson Jones of Sardis and her mother - in - law Dorothy Daniel of Sardis.

PARKS, Eddie Jr.
CRENSHAW - - Eddie Parks Jr., 78, died Friday, March 11, 2005, at Tri - Lakes Medical Center.

Services are tomorrow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph M.B. Church in Crenshaw. Rev. Robert Askew will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Cooley's Mortuary has charge.

Parks, born icon Jan. 3, 1927, in South Lake to the late Eddie Parks and the late Bessie Gordon, was a retired truck driver for Kentucky Clay Company, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Joseph M.B. Church in Crenshaw.

Survivors include his wife Cora Lee Parks of Crenshaw; his step - mother Annie Parks of Parking, Ark.; seven sons, Eddie Parks, James Parks, Johnny Parks and Sammy Parks, all of Crenshaw, Bobby Parks and David Parks, both of Longtown and Willie Parks of Lakewell, Fla.; seven daughters, Mary Parks, Ora Nelson, Bessie Sims and Roberta Wright, all of Crenshaw, Emma Dukes of Longtown, Patsy Fox of Batesville and Rosemary Robinson of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, James Parks of Los Angeles, Calif. and Frank Gordon of Crenshaw; one sister Leller Mae Parker of Cincinnati, Ohio; 41 grandchildren; 36 great - grandchildren and three great - great - grandchildren.
