Boyd Lee Joiner, 62, of Batesville, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Services were Saturday at Mt. Hope M.B. Church in Taylor. Burial was at East Batesville cemetery. Rev. Sammie Woodall officiated. Eddie Robinson & Son Funeral Home had charge.

Survivors include his wife Clara Joiner; one daughter Gloria Woodall; two sons, Robert Woodall and Adhan Woodall; two brothers, Robert Joiner of St. Louis, Mo. and Emphro Joiner of Memphis; one sister Shirley Blair of Memphis; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Johnnie Mae Joiner, 70, of Batesville, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville of natural causes.
Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Bethlehem M.B. Church in Batesville. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home Chapel in Sardis. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. W.L. Nash will officiate. Henderson Funeral Home in Sardis has charge.

Oct. 15, 1933, to the late Willie Mae Bibbs and the late Howard Baker, was a housewife and a member of New Bethlehem M.B. Church in Batesville.
Survivors include four daughters, Virgie Cole, Ada Draper, Dorothy Joiner and Peggie Joiner; one son Willie Joiner; two sisters, Lillie Pinkins and Annie B. Johnson; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

James William Joiner, 84, of Sardis, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Sardis Community Nursing Home.
Services were Tuesday at Sardis United Methodist Church. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery of Sardis. Rev. Hal Johnson officiated. Moore Funeral Home had charge.

Jones, Lois Inez Wood
Marks - Lois Inez Wood Jones, 82, of Marks, died Thursday, May 20, 2004, at Vaiden Community Living Center of heart failure.
Services were Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Gardens in Batesville. Rev. Harold Smith officiated. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband Ellis M. Jones of Marks; five sons, Lewis Jones of Tupelo, Maurice Jones of Raymond, Tom Jones of Byram, David Jones of Springdale, Ark. and Don Jones of Oakland; four daughters, Shirley Bowles of Greenwood, Carolyn Miller of Carrollton, Patricia Bridges of Crowder and Rita Smith of Sturgis; three sisters, Mattie Legge of Batesville, Annie Mae Jones of Sardis and Mary Cook of Blue Mountain; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchild; and one great great-grandchild.

Jones, Saidee Sue
Cinton, MS - Saidee Sue Jones, 88, of Clinton, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at the Lakewood Nursing Home in Jackson. Visitation was Wednesday at Lakewood Funeral Home. Graveside services were Thursday at Batesville Magnolia cemetery in Batesville.
Mrs. Jones was born
in Hampton in 1915. Her parents were the late Sydney Jones Sr. and Lizzie Anderson Jones. She graduated from Delta State University with a degree in elementary education.
Mrs. Jones was a longtime former resident of Batesville and taught in the Batesville Elementary Schools for over 32 years. While living in Batesville she was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church and was a former member of the Stitchers Club, a group of ladies who met once a month for over 50 years. She loved flowers and working in her garden.
In 1993, Mrs. Jones moved to Clinton. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she enjoyed participating in the Joy Makers Club.
She leaves behind her loving family, one son Thomas L. Jones Jr., D.D.S. and his wife Laura of Ridgeland; one brother Henry J. Jones of Florence, Ala.; two sisters, Laura Wilson of Vicksburg and Jeane Degges of Baton Rouge, La.; and two precious grandchildren, Sydney L. Jones and Laura Allyson Jones.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joy Makers Club of First Baptist Church in Clinton. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Len Jones Sr.
Keating, Patsy Ruth
Patsy Ruth Keating, 52, of Batesville, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at her parents residence.
Keating, born
Aug. 14, 1952 in Clarksdale, to Ralph Keating and Mary Sorrells Keating, was a member of First United Methodist Church, member of the Kiwanis Club, Galen Order of The University of Mississippi and preceptor for Ole Miss Pharmacy School. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing at the church. She graduated from South Panola High School and The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. She was also a member of Rho Chi and Mortar Board. She was actively involved with the students at the Batesville Job Corps. In 1944 she opened Patsy's Prescription Shop, known to all as Medicap Pharmacy. She loved her customers and even in her sickest times, she was concerned for them in every aspect of their lives.
Services were Sunday at First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Curtis Union cemetery. Rev. Keith Keeton and Rev. Russell Fletcher officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.
Survivors in addition to her parents include two sisters, Linda Parker of Asheville, N.C. and Jane Keating Rodriguez of West Port, Conn.

Keel, Junious Edward
Junious Edward Keel, 83, of Oxford, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at his residence.
Services were Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Burial was in Oxford Memorial cemetery. Rev. Gerald Shook and Rev. Charles Keel officiated. Waller Funeral Home had charge.
Keel served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of Anchor Baptist Church and Oakley Lodge #688 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Keel of Oxford; three daughters, Gladys "Marie" Keel, step-daughters - Patricia Brown and Mary Brown, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister Dartha "Dot" Kelley of Oxford; four grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

July 26, 1926, to the late A.D. and the late Margaret Augustus Gardner, was retired from Kimberly Clark of Memphis.
Survivors include her care giver Susan O'Conner of Batesville; and one brother Will Gardner of Oakland.
She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Kelley.

Alan Kennedy, 39, of Eads, Tenn., died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Fisherville, Tenn.

Kennedy was a member of First Baptist Church of Fisherville, Tenn. and a plant manager of Universal Bedding.

Services are Saturday at 3 p.m. at Sardis United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at the Sardis United Methodist Church from 2 p.m. until funeral time. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Dr. Doyce Gunter will officiate. Moore Funeral Home has charge.

Nov. 1, 1903, was a school teacher and a member of the Sardis Woman's Club, Como Book Club and a member of Sardis United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter Alice Davis of Germantown; one son Robert Keys of Hermiston, Ore.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband R. Taylor Keys.
Kidd, Nancy Carol Vreeland
Nancy Carol Vreeland Kidd, 52, of Batesville, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at The Med in Memphis of heart failure.
Services were Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park cemetery in Batesville. Rev. Phil Weatherwax and Rev. Rachel Woodall officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Kidd, born
Aug. 20, 1951, to Rodney Earl Vreeland and the late Peggy Jean Wilson, was a postal clerk at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis and a member of Frayser Christian Church of Memphis.
Survivors include her husband Terry Kidd of Memphis; one son Jason Elliot Kidd of Memphis; one sister Terry Vreeland of Memphis; and a father Rodney Earl Vreeland of Batesville.
