Stroupe, Willard G.
Willard G. Stroupe, 88, of Batesville, died Wednesday at Baptist Desoto in Southaven of heart failure.
Services were Saturday at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville. Burial was at Blackjack cemetery in Batesville. Rev. Bishop Paul Roberts officiated. Wells Funeral Home had charge.
Stroupe, born
April 2, 1915, to the late Rufus Pinkney and the late Ombra Stokes Stroupe, was a retired construction worker.
Survivors include his wife Margie Lucile Bevell Stroupe of Batesville; five daughters, Peggy Jean Bolen, Barbara Ann Helmes, Jeanette Hennings, Marilyn Kay Ware and Patricia Dale Stevens, all of Batesville; two sons, Billy Gordon Stroupe of Batesville and Jimmy Donald Stroupe of Hurst, Texas; one brother Phillip Stroupe of Memphis; 24 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Joyce Arnold.
Sullivan, Bill
Longview, MS - Bill Sullivan, 68, of Longview, died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at a local medical center.
Services were Thursday, May 20, 2004, at St. MaryÕs Catholic Church. Burial was in Rosewood Park cemetery. Father Suresh Samalia officiated. Rader Funeral Home had charge.
Sullivan, born
Feb. 16, 1936, to William Allen and Alice Logan Sullivan, worked in the natural gas field for Southern Cross, a subsidiary of the Spear Group of Norcross, Ga. He served his country in Germany, Korea and Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years Rita Lock Sullivan; three daughters, Bobbie Joyce Knudsen, Rita Kay Banks and Betty Louise Sullivan; one son Ralph Billie Sullivan; two brothers, Ed Sullivan and Jimmy R. Sullivan; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Swain, Kenneth J.
Kenneth J. Swain, 72, of Jackson, died Friday, September 4, 2004, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Swain was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War, for which he received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service. He was also a member of Pear Orchard Baptist Church.
Visitation is today from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison. Services today at 2 p.m. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Chattanooga National cemetery in Chattanooga, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oresta and Nellie Johnson Swain and a sister Nona Tallant.
Survivors include his wife Marian Weaver Swain of Jackson; one daughter Patricia Riley of Atanta, Ga.; one son Kenneth W. Swain of Jackson; one sister Nell Sanders of Oxford; one brother Johnny Swain of Oxford and two grandchildren.
Tabor, Linda Faye
Sardis, Miss. - Linda Faye Tabor, 62, of Sardis, died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
Services were Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Sardis. Burial was in Wesley Chapel cemetery in Sardis. Rev. Bob Hickey officiated. Moore Funeral Home had charge.
Tabor, born
Nov. 6, 1941, to the Albert R. Joyce and Novella Killgreath Joyce of Sardis, was self employed in sales.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband James Tabor of Sardis; two daughters, Teresa Norton of Sardis and step-daughter Colleen Williams of St. Charles, Mo.; one brother Don Joyce of Risco, Mo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Tallant, Steve
Steve Tallant, 58, of Clarksdale, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at The Med in Memphis.
Services were Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at National Funeral Home in Clarksdale. Burial was in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Clarksdale. National Funeral Home has charge.

Aug. 7, 1945, attended Lambert High School and Delta State University. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lambert and the National Rifle Association. He was owner of Time Saver Trading Post and Bellview Grocery.
Survivors include his wife Linda Tallant of Clarksdale; his mother Etoile Tallant Barker of Batesville; one daughter Stephanie Dykes of Clarksdale; one son Steven Tallant Jr. of Clarksdale; two brothers, Billy Dee Tallant and Jimmy C. Tallant, both of Grenada; and two grandchildren.
Tallant was preceded in death by one brother Thomas W. Tallant and his father Devoe Tallant.
Tate, James Harold
James Harold Tate, 84, died Thursday, September 23, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center.
Tate, born
Oct. 1, 1919, was a lifetime resident of Lee County, a retired electrical worker of Jesco, was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Brewer United Methodist Church in Brewer.
Services were Saturday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Brewer cemetery. Rev. Phillip Box and Rev. Milton Whatley officiated. Lee Memorial Funeral Home had charge.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Marianna Kennedy, Jo Pettey and Emogene Robbins.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Martha Dale Edwards Tate; two daughters, Romona Mitchell of Batesville and Judy Hester of Nettleton; one son Mike Tate of Brewer; two brothers, Romie Tate of Collierville, Tenn. and Hugh Tate of Oxford; one sister Kathleen Shumpert of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Taylor, Jerry
Jerry Taylor, 60, of Sardis, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville.
Graveside services were Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Shiloh cemetery in Batesville. Rev. Dennie Yates officiated. Dickins Funeral Home had charge.

June 28, 1943, to the late Edgar Clifton Taylor and the late Lillie Bess Houston Taylor, graduated from Northwest Community College and was working as a senior electronic technician for the University of Mississippi. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Annette Fellows Taylor of Batesville; three daughters, Carmen McIntire of Jackson, Gail Cervetti of Memphis and Jennifer Robertson of Batesville; one brother Samuel Taylor of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister Martha Taylor of Raleigh Durham, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.

Taylor, Roy H. Jr.
Roy H. Taylor Jr., 74, of Hernando, died Friday, September 17, 2004, at his residence of cancer.
Taylor was a Korean Army Veteran, retired employee of Memphis Defance Depot, a Mason Park Avenue Masonic Lodge #362, owner of Special Officers Inc., a former Sgt. Desoto County Sheriff's Department and a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dawise C. Taylor.
Graveside services were Monday at Hernando Memorial Park. Burial was in Hernando Memorial Park. Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home had charge.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie T. borne of Batesville, Diane T. Dytrt of Walls and Kimberly T. Cagle of Olive Branch; two sons, William Keith Taylor of Hernando and Kenneth I. Taylor of Southaven; two sisters, Jean Phillips of Southaven and Sandra Pierini of Germantown, Tenn.; one brother Antonio Pierini of Hernando; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Batesville, MS - Virgle Leeton Taylor, 92, of Batesville, died Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville.
Services are today at Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville. Rev. Paul Middleton will officiate. Dickins Funeral Home has charge.

April 2, 1912, to the late Ivy and late Dixie Appleton Leeton, was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, George Taylor of Batesville and Charles Taylor of Gautier; two daughters, Patricia Jaudon of Sardis and Patsy Kirk of Booneville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son James Robert Taylor. All memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.
Taylor, Virginia Holyfield
Virginia Holyfield Taylor, 74, of Sardis, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at her residence.
Services were Wednesday, at Mt. Level M.B. Church in Como. Burial was in McIvor cemetery in Sardis. Rev. Mack Taylor officiated. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. had charge.

Feb. 5, 1930, to the late James Holyfield and the late Catherine Willingham, was a house wife and a member of Mt. Level M.B. Church in Como. She also served as usher and member of Utah Chapter No. 30 Order of Eastern Star and Lady Chief of usher board.
Survivors include her husband Robert Taylor of Sardis; one daughter Mary T. Harris of Sardis; two sons, James Washington and Ronald Taylor, both of Sardis; three sisters, Stella Futrell and Ophila Payne, both of Memphis and Ozain Jenning of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, James Holyfield and J.D. Jenning, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Teague, Virginia Wray
Viginia Wray Teague, 80, of Memphis, died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at her residence.
Services were Wednesday at Memphis Poplar Funeral Home Chapel in Memphis. Burial was in Memphis Memory Gardens. Memphis Poplar Funeral Home had charge.
Teague was a former member of Union Presbyterian Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband Burrell M. Teague of Memphis; one daughter Pamela Steelman of Atlanta, Ga.; one son Donald W. Teague of Memphis; two sisters, Ruby Avery of Courtland and Peggy Dunn of Grove Hill, Ala.; two step grandchildren; and four grandchildren.
