Ginger Garner McReynolds Hale

Ginger Garner McReynolds Hale, 51, of Senatobia, went to be with the Lord, February 5, 2015.

She is survived by her daughter, Courtney Leigh Hale Haas (Ashley) of Senatobia; son, John Christopher Hale of Senatobia; sister, Sarah Victoria McReynolds Harvey (Ed) of Franklin, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Liam Bladen Hale, Evelyn Reese Haas, Houston Alexander Haas, and Aaron Anderson Haas. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ms. Hale was a member of First Baptist Church in Senatobia. She was a graduate of Senatobia High School’s class of 1981 and later graduated from the University of Mississippi where she majored in sociology and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997. During her lifetime, she was employed at Senatobia Bank, taught middle school education in Senatobia and Tate County schools, and was a school attendance officer employed by Mississippi Department of Education.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Al Garner and Joyce Burgess McReynolds.

A funeral service celebrating her life was held on Monday, February 9, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Senatobia, with family members receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Clay Moore and Rev. Chris Williams officiated. A graveside service followed at Odd Fellows cemetery in Starkville, MS where she was laid to rest with her parents.

Active pallbearers were Mark Griffin, Ashley Haas, John Christopher Hale, David Edward Harvey, Ray Urban, and Sammy Webb. Honorary pallbearers were E. Frank Griffin, III; Mitchell Griffin; Liam Bladen Hale; and James (Bub) Houtz.

Memorials in her name can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Patricia Harris

Patricia Harris, 53, of Sardis, passed away on February 10, 2015. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 16 at 12 noon. Burial followed at Senatobia Memorial cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Harris of Como; daughter, Priscilla Harris of Senatobia; sons, Sangarus Harris Sr. of Memphis, Tenn. and Issaac Harris Sr. of Asheville, N.C.; sisters, Dorothy Reed of Memphis, Tenn. and Clemmie Leverson of Senatobia; brothers, Lamar Jones of Memphis, Tenn., Earl Jones of Iowa, and Shamichael Conner of Senatobia; and six grandchildren.

Felix Cauthen Funeral Home in Senatobia had charge of the arrangements.

Chris Justice

Chris Justice, 63, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away February 5, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto.

He is survived by his wife Judy Justice of Coldwater; daughters, Nicky Starkey (Matt) of Columbus, Ohio, Brandy Justice of Coldwater; sisters, Debra Sy and Melissa Justice both of Coldwater; brothers, Johnny Kimbrough (Linda) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Justin Justice (Judy) of Tampa, Fla., Ronnie Brandon of Coldwater; grandchildren, Kellie Laughter (Bobby), Myranda Justice, Hayden Starkey; great grandchildren, Kylee Laughter, Owen Laughter, Paisley Laughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior Justice and Donnie Buchanan, and brothers, Clifton Justice of Cherry Valley, CA and Charles L. Buchanan III of Tennessee.

Services were held Monday, February 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia.

Mildred McGhee

Mildred McGhee, 84, of Horn Lake, formerly of Senatobia, passed away on February 9, 2015. Funeral services were held at Paradise M.B. Church in Senatobia on Saturday, February 14 at 11 a.m. Burial followed in Paradise cemetery in Senatobia.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Jean Hughery of Senatobia, Martha Mosley of Senatobia, Jacqueline William of Senatobia, and Charlene Hayslett of Horn Lake; six sons, M. L. Jeter of Senatobia, Issiac Jeter of Como, Willie Geter of Senatobia, Andre Geter of Senatobia, Rudell Geter of Senatobia, and Ronnie Geater of Senatobia; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Felix Cauthen Funeral Home in Senatobia had charge of the arrangements.

Travis Lamar Roberts

Travis Lamar Roberts, 24, factory worker, of Senatobia, passed away on February 8, 2015. Funeral services were held at Paradise M.B. Church on Saturday, February 14 at 3 p.m. Burial followed in Senatobia Memorial cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Jackson of Senatobia; father, David Taylor of Batesville; four sisters, Shawanda Richardson, Shalonda Jackson and Whittney Porter, all of Senatobia, and Bradasia Taylor of Southaven; eight brothers, William Jackson, Quinton Jackson, Daniel Roberts, Tawayne Roberts, Nicko Roberts, Terrance Jackson, Davell Jackson, all of Senatobia and Jatabion Farmer of Como.

Mamie C. Scurlock

Mamie C. Scurlock, 71, homemaker, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Senatobia, passed away on February 5, 2015. Funeral services were held at Macedonia M.B. Church in Senatobia on February 15 at 3 p.m. Burial followed in Macedonia M.B. Church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, James Scurlock Jr. of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Stephanie Mitchell of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, James Scurlock III of Olive Branch and Brian Scurlock of Germantown, Tenn.; five sisters, Irma Wilson of Detroit, Mich., Mildred Wilson of Chicago, Ill., Mary Catherine Smith of Senatobia, Betty Turner of Memphis, Tenn., and Mary Bates of Meridian; three brothers, Robert Ira Cleveland of Tempe, Ariz., Zack Cleveland Jr. of Chicago, Ill., and Michael Cleveland of Memphis, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.

Charles Doyle Taylor, Sr.

Charles Doyle Taylor, Sr., 82, of Senatobia, passed away at Baptist Hospital in Southaven, Tuesday, February 10, 2015.

Charles was born icon October 16, 1932 to Charles A. and Lois Taylor. He is survived by his wife Ella V. Taylor, one son Charles D. Taylor Jr. and wife Stacy; one stepson George Gully, Sr. and one stepdaughter Veazey Krausnick; and one sister Lynn Caveness; and eight grandchildren.

He graduated from Delta State with a Master’s Degree from Mississippi State University.

He was a cryptographer during the Korean War.

He will be remembered for his 30 years as an administrator and coach at Coldwater School. He was a Real Estate Broker for 50 years.

Richard D. Whitfield

Richard D. Whitfield, 50, Tax Analyst Supervisor, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on January 22, 2015. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 2 at 9 a.m. at Mount Moriah cemetery in Como.

He is survived by his wife, Tanyar Whitfield; daughters, Meridian Whitfield, Yasmine Whitfield, and Natasha Jones, all of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Vernita Houston of Bartlett, Tenn., Phyllis Jackson of Indianapolis, Ind., and Cora Phillips of Charlotte, N.C.; and brother, Johnny Jackson of Mississippi.

Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater had charge of the arrangements.

Mildred Brooks Davis

Mildred Brooks Davis, 94, of Senatobia, cook at Northwest Mississippi Community College, passed away on February 13, 2015. Funeral services were held at Beula M.B. Church in Como on February 21 at 11 a.m. Burial followed in Beulah MB Church cemetery in Como.

She is survived by two daughters Ivoy Barnes and Katherlynn Davis both of Memphis, Tenn.; five sons Melvin Davis of Denver, Colo., Alchester Davis of Batesville, Eugene Davis of Como, Howard Davis of Como, and Murry Davis of Avondale, Ariz.; three sisters, Elva J. Jones of Senatobia, Julia Hicks of Chicago, Ill. and Verneda Gailes of Chicago, Ill.; 34 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.

John W. “Bill” Frazier

John W. “Bill” Frazier, 98, of Southaven, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015.

Visitation was held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 22 at Forest Hill South. Services were held Monday, February 23 at 10 a.m. Burial followed in Forest Hill South cemetery.

Mr. Frazier was a WWII Army Veteran.

He leaves his wife, Christal Frazier, four daughters: Lynn Pruitt (Tony) of Southaven, Johnnie Willard (Leeroy) of Looxahoma, Jo Nickels (Gray) and Bonnie Harwell both of Southaven; one sister, Lidabell O’Neal of Sarah; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Forest Hill Funeral Home, South in Memphis, Tenn. had charge of the arrangements.

Willie Sanders Hensley

Willie Sanders Hensley, 99, of Evansville, Miss., passed away February 18, 2015 at the Sardis Nursing Home.

She is survived by her daughter, Juanita Hensley Brown (the late Toyce Brown) of Senatobia; sons, Oliver Lee Hensley (Kay) of Horn Lake, Thomas W. Hensley (Patsy) of Arkabutla, and Sherman Hensley (Dale) of Strayhorn; 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Hensley, daughter, Mary Faith Hensley, son, James David Hensley, sister, Jane Parks, brother, Leo Sanders, and grandsons, William Gregory Hensley and James Guy Hensley.

Memorials may be sent to Evansville Baptist Church cemetery Fund.

Services were held Saturday, February 21, at 12:00 p.m. at Evansville Baptist Church where she was a member. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pate-Jones Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.

Wendell Anderson Key

Wendell Anderson Key, 69, of Horn Lake, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cynthia Metts Key of Horn Lake; one daughter, Elizabeth Key Fitzgerald (Chris) and one son, William Key, all of Horn Lake; two sisters, Cathy Key of Humble, Texas and Carolyn Davison of Vicksburg; three brothers, Billy Key and Jimmy Key of Mississippi and Donald Key of Batesville; and two grandchildren, Rebecca Irby and Brady Irby, both of Horn Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Elizabeth Dees and Woodrow Anderson Key.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.
