Ovenia Dean
Ovenia Dean, 99, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away on November 29, 2014. Memorial services were held on Sunday, December 7 at 2 p.m. at Thyatira Church of Christ Family Life Center in Senatobia.
She is survived by her daughters, Cordia Taylor, Mary Dean Houston, Martha Dean Deberry, Ora Lean Dean, and Fay Dean, all of Chicago, Ill., Oberia (Sally) Dean Burton of Altaloma, Calif., Robbie Dean Hibbler of Camarillo, Calif., and Doris Dean King of Memphis, Tenn.; sons, Nathaniel Dean and J.B. Dean, both of Chicago, Ill., Bobby Dean of Carbondale, Ind., and Theodore (Sam) Dean of Coldwater; 59 grandchildren; 110 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Ricky G. Gadbois
Ricky G. Gadbois, 56, of Horn Lake, Miss., died on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Methodist Hospice House in Memphis, Tenn.
Mr. Gadbois was born
in Connecticut on June 14, 1958 to Larry and Jeanette Gadbois. He worked as a casino supervisor for 20 years.
Ricky is survived by two sons, Brandon G. Gadbois and James P. Gadbois of Horn Lake; his parents, Larry and Jeanette Gadbois of Senatobia; two brothers, John Gadbois of Durango, Colo. and Kevin Gadbois (Jan) of Barrington, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
A prayer service was held in the Senatobia Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, at 5 p.m. with visitation being held prior to that service at 4 p.m. Burial took place in Connecticut on Saturday, December 6, with Guillot Funeral Home having taken charge in Taftville, Conn.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to The Methodist Foundation, Attn: Methodist Hospice, P.O. Box 42048, Memphis, TN 38174.
Ray-Nowell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Daisy M. Houston
Daisy M. Houston “Momma Scooter” passed away on December 2, 2014 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital. born
on June 5, 1926 to Lawrence Manning and Alice McIver Manning in Tate County.
She is survived by her beloved children Agnes Porter, Dianne Thomas, Kathy May and Gary, Lawrence Houston, Mark Houston and Marisa. She is also survived by her brother Robert Manning and Dianne, 12 grandchildren, her twenty third great grandchild is expected in June, four great-great grandchildren, her church family Bill and Lavada Shelby and the congregation of Center Hill Church of God and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard E. Houston, her precious grandson David Houston Porter, parents Lawrence and Alice Manning, stepmother Thelma Manning, sisters, Josephine Willard and Lavern Little and brothers, Larry Manning and Kenneth Manning.
The family request that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Services were held Friday, December 5, at 1:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial followed in Flag Lake cemetery.

Ozell Mays, 64, retired construction manager, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away on November 27, 2014. Funeral services were held at New Mt. Gilliam in Byhalia on Saturday, December 6 at 11 a.m. Burial followed in Roberts Chapel cemetery in Coldwater.
He is survived by his daughters, Yolanda Newson of Independence, Chanmeika Hill of Senatobia; sons, Otis Mays of Independence, Marvin Mays of Southaven, Keith Ingram of Olive Branch; sister, Lena Mays of Independence; and brothers, Y.W. Mays of Hernando, Willie Lee Mays of Independence, Levi Mays of Independence, and A.Y. Mays, Jr. of Independence.

Cora Rossell Perkins
Cora Rossell Perkins, 90, passed away November 29, 2014 at Methodist South Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
She is survived by her children, Lavern Rossell of Detroit, Mich., James Perkins of Coldwater, Geneva Pipkin of Memphis, Tenn., Shirley King of Memphis, Tenn., Alice Todd of Coldwater, and one extended son, Andre Mabry; 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, December 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Central Avenue Church of Christ in Coldwater, where she was a member. Burial followed in Magnolia cemetery.

Mildred Ward
Mildred Ward, 53, of Como, Miss. passed away December 1, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto in Southaven.
She is survived by her daughter, LaTosha Brassell of Horn Lake; parents, John Henry and Marie Callicutt Ward of Como; sister, Rosie Ward Martin of Senatobia; brothers, John Ward of Horn Lake, Guss Ward of Como, Clifton Ward of Como, Isiah Ward of Horn Lake; and two grandchildren.
She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Como.
Services were held Saturday, December 6, at 1:00 p.m. at Hammond Hill M.B. Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Willie Mae Dean Ayers, 85, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away on December 14, 2014. Funeral services were held at Paradise MB Church in Senatobia Saturday, December 20 at 1 p.m. Burial followed in Paradise Church cemetery in Senatobia.
She is survived by two daughters, Airlene A. Dangerfield of Memphis, Tenn. and Virginia Ayers Casey of Senatobia; five sons, Virtis Lee Ayers of Coldwater, James Ayers of Coldwater, Charles Ayers of Memphis, Tenn., Eugene Ayers of Memphis, Tenn., and Gregory Ayers of Senatobia; a brother Frank Ayers of Memphis, Tenn.; 36 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Leon Burford, 93, of Wyatte, Miss., passed away December 14, 2014 at the Senatobia Convalescent Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Burford, son, Ed Burford and grandson, Wyatt Burford.
He is survived by his daughter, Sue Brewer of Wyatte; sons, Bobby Burford of Senatobia, and Bill Burford of Independence; sisters, Ella Darnell of Independence, and Anna Grace McCorkle of Memphis, Tenn.; brothers, James Burford of Olive Branch, and Joe Burford of Barr; six grandsons and 13 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Thyatira Church of Christ where he was a member.
Services were held Friday December 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Thyatira Church of Christ. Burial followed in Tyro cemetery.

Charles Henry Jolly, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away on December 7, 2014. Memorial services were held Tuesday, December 16, at 1 p.m. at Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Jolly; daughters, Virginia Ann Jackson of Memphis, Tenn., Janice Jolly of Farmville, Texas, Tomika Jolly of Senatobia, Natasha Hill of Jackson, Avony Brown of Gulfport and Zandra Hill of Jackson; sons, Eric Jolly of Coldwater, Terry Jolly of Coldwater, Christopher Hill, Ramiraz Hill, Willie Hill all of Jackson, and Quinton Brown of Alexandra, La.; sisters, Ruby Terry and Girtrue Ruben both of Memphis, Tenn., Linda Jones of Coldwater, Tangela Jolly and Jacqueline Jolly both of Jackson; brother, Henry Louis Jolly of Memphis, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Jerry Laabs, 69, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away December 12, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis.
He was a veteran having served in the Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Laabs of Senatobia; daughter, Svetlana Moser of North Bergen, N.J.; sons, Jerry Laabs of Cordova, Tenn., and Ron Laabs of Pass Christian, Miss.; sister, Mavis Hermodson of Eau Claire, Wis.; brother, Don Laabs of Savannah, Ga.; grandchildren, Alex Laabs, Cynthia Laabs, Aaron Laabs, Crystal Laabs, Stoney Crawford, Veronica Crawford, Alyssa Laabs, Josh Laabs, Matthew Hallowell and Brittney Burross; and great grandchildren, Allison Eubanks, Landon Laabs, Harper Burross, Kaiden Bell, Kylan Bell, Emily Laabs, Cade Laabs, Haley Laabs, and Elijah Laabs.
Services were held Thursday, December 18, at 3:30 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church in Senatobia. Burial was Friday, December 19, at 11:00 a.m. at West Tennessee State Veterans cemetery in Memphis, Tenn.

Shirley Ann Overall Lantrip
Shirley Ann Overall Lantrip, 70, of Sardis, Miss., passed away December 13, 2014.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Lantrip of Sardis; sisters, June Goodwin of Crenshaw, Linda Carpenter of Bridgetown, Joyce Carlisle of Strayhorn, Jean Overall of Crenshaw and Linda Overall of Southaven; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Erma Foster Manning
Erma Foster Manning, 90, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away December 15, 2014 at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia. Mrs. Manning was a retired school teacher. She is survived by her four sons, Malcolm Manning, Jr. of Senatobia, Larry Joe Manning of Santa Paula, CA, George Manning of Coldwater, and Tim Manning of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Terry Meredith
Terry Meredith, 67, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away December 15, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Meredith served in the National Guard.
He is survived by his daughters, Kim Johnson (Jeff) of Byhalia, and Kayla Carlisle of Coldwater; son, Keith Meredith of Coldwater; sister, Brenda Cook of Coldwater; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, December 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Bett Baptist Church. Burial followed in Mt. Zion cemetery.
