Evelyn Louise Webb

Evelyn Louise Webb, factory worker, of Como, Miss., passed away on December 11, 2014. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 17 at 12 noon at Paradise M.B. Church in Senatobia. Burial followed in Liberty Hill Church cemetery in Como.

She is survived by daughters, Cardisha Orr, Nekeita Milam, Natdebra Lyons and Jovitta Webb, all of Como; sons, Demetrice Williams of Como, Lorne Williams of Olive Branch, Ian Williams of Como, and Wayne Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; brothers, Golden Williams of Ypsilanti, Mich. and Thomas Williams of Memphis, Tenn.; 29 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater had charge of the arrangements.

Russell Wright

Russell Wright, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away on December 1, 2014. Memorial services were held on Tuesday, December 9 at 12 noon at Simon Chapel #2 Baptist Church in Como.

He is survived by a daughter, Juanita Wright of Benton Harbor, Mich.; sons, Justin Parker, Christopher Parker, Daniel Parker, all of Niles, Mich., and Maurice Wright of Benton Harbor, Mich.; sisters, Mae Eula Wright of Coldwater and Rosie Lee Wright of Memphis, Tenn.; brothers, John Tucker of Looxahoma, James Ira Wright and Glenn Wright both of Senatobia; and four grandchildren.

Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater had charge of the arrangements.

Janet Navarete Colvett

Janet Navarete Colvett, 60, a resident of Matthews, Missouri, died Monday, December 8, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born icon in St. Louis on March 4, 1954 to the late Clyde and Navarete (Odle) Pruiett. A resident of the Matthews area for the past 14 years, she previously resided in Crockett, Mississippi and Caruthersville, Mo.

She was a member of the Matthews Church of Christ and had worked as a secretary at Ferguson Medical Group and later at Lee Hunter and the 5th and 6th Grade schools in Sikeston.

On February 9, 1991 she was married icon to Jimmy D. Colvett at Caruthersville and he survives of the home. Also surviving are one son, Jeffrey (Amanda) Ferrell of Hernando, three step-sons, Mark (Lois) Colvett of Southaven, Jeffrey (Becky) Colvett of Drummonds, Tenn. and John (Joy) Colvett of Springfield, Mo.; one step-daughter Sherra (Randy) Jackson of O’Fallon, Mo., one son-in-law, Jason Spencer of Sarah; her step mother, Mary Ann Pruiett of Caruthersville; and two brothers, Ricky Odle of Rome, Ga. and Freddie Pruiett of Blytheville, Ark. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Navarete Ferrell and Jeanae Spencer; one grandson, Alexander Spencer; one brother, Larry Clyde Pruiett; and one sister Deborah Ann Onley.

Visitation was held at Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Missouri from 5 until 8 pm Friday, December 12. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Blanchard Chapel with Mike McDaniel, minister at Central Church of Christ in Caruthersville officiating. Burial followed at Little Prairie cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Ben McDonald, Jeremy Colvett, Jarrett Qualls, Will Pruiett, Chuck Mayes and Aaron Mayes.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to either The Children’s Home Paragould, Arkansas or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000 Dept 142 Memphis, TN 38101-9908

Maurice Carlisle

Maurice Carlisle, 78, of Tunica, Miss., passed away November 3, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Maxine Carlisle.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Carlisle of Tunica, daughters, Debra Rich (Ray) of Strayhorn, and Betty Jo Waddle (J. D.) of Arkabutla; son, Gary Carlisle (Shelia) of Coldwater; sister, Margaret Dunson, of Enid, Okla.; brothers, William Earl Carlisle of Sarah, and Leon Carlisle of Augusta, Ga.; grandchildren, Will Pierce, Gary V. Carlisle, Renee Chambers Griffin, Chris Carlisle, Eddie B. Chambers, Daniel Pierce and Barrett Carlisle; and 11 great grandchildren.

Mr. Carlisle was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Memorials may be sent to the Tunica Humane Society, P.O Box 236, Tunica, MS 38676.

Services were held Friday, November 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial followed in Oakwood cemetery in Tunica.

William Howard Geter, Sr.

William Howard Geter, Sr. 51, of Coldwater, Miss., passed away on November 4, 2014. Funeral services were held at Paradise Baptist Church in Senatobia on Saturday, November 8 at 1:00 p.m. Burial followed in Edward Chapel AME Church cemetery in Coldwater.

He is survived by his daughter, Alexis Wooten of Senatobia; sons, Steven Geter of Memphis, Tenn., Leroy Geter, William Howard Geter, Jr. both of Tupelo, Howard Wooten, Michael Geter, Nathaniel Geter, all of Coldwater, Ta’ Corey Wooten and Calvin Wooten, both of Senatobia; fiancé, Wanda Wooten; sisters, Magnolia Hunter of Sneatobia, Sadie Taylor of Coldwater, Brenda Ward of Memphis, Tenn., and Carolyn Carter of Coldwater; and a brother, Clarence Geter of Memphis, Tenn.

Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater had charge of the arrangements.

Wayne C. Gulledge

Wayne C. Gulledge, 59, of Senatobia and Flowood died at his residence in Flowood November 3, 2014. Gulledge was a self-employed attorney for 35 years.

He attended Senatobia City Schools, Harding Academy and Memphis University School where he graduated with honors.

Gulledge graduated with honors from Davidson College where he majored in pre-med. He completed his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1979.

While living in Flowood, he was an active supporter of Alcoholics Anonymous at the Jackson Chapter where he served as mentor and counselor.

An avid animal lover, he supported MARL (Mississippi Animal Rescue League) in Jackson.

His parents, William Ralph Gulledge and Elizabeth Carter Gulledge, long-time Senatobia residents, preceded him in death. Survivors include his sister Anne Gulledge Boling (Charles) of Senatobia; a brother William Ralph Gulledge Jr. (Liz) of Springdale, Utah; nephew Jeff McGee of Senatobia; nieces Suzanne McGee Creekmore (Robert) of Senatobia; and Ashley Gulledge Franzen (Doug) of Seattle, Wash.; and several great-nephews and many friends.

Gulledge was a member of the church of Christ.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Senatobia-Tate County Animal Shelter.

Doyle Leon Holliday

Doyle Leon Holliday, 64, passed away on November 3, 2014 at his home in Tunica, Miss.

Mr. Holliday was a retired truck driver for Miller Transport, and Mississippi Department of Transportation.

He was a member of Tunica United Methodist Church.

Mr. Holliday is survived by his daughter, Michelle Lee Holliday Terry (David), his son, Jeffery Doyle Holliday; his grandchildren, Brittany Terry, and Noah Holliday.

Meredith Nowell Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.

Annie B. Phillips

Annie B. Phillips, 75, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away November 2, 2014. Funeral services were held at St. Peters MB Church in Senatobia on Saturday, November 8, at 1 p.m. Burial followed in New Spring Hill M.B. Church in Strayhorn.

She is survived by a daughter, Elaine Leverson of Senatobia, two stepdaughters, Linise Phillips of Little Rock, Ark. and Janice King of Fayettville, Ark.; two sons, Willie Chester Johnson of Senatobia and McCoy Johnson of Dewitt, Ark.; two sisters, Dorothy Reed of Southaven, Savannah Merritt of Memphis, Tenn. and LM Taylor of Senatobia; 22 grandchildren; and 45 great grandchildren.

Felix Cauthen Funeral Home in Senatobia had charge of the arrangements.

Taylor Glenn Hudson

Taylor Glenn Hudson, 23, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014.

He was a Physical Therapy student at Northwest Mississippi Community

College in Senatobia.

Taylor enjoyed playing hockey, wrestling, fishing, body building and music.

The family received friends at a catered reception from 5:00 until 7:00 Friday evening, November 28 at Hernando Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10:00 Saturday morning, November 29 at the Hernando Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Memphis Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his parents, Sidney and Virginia Ivy of Coldwater; grandparents, Marvin E. and Linda A. Goff of Tunica; uncles, Terry Hudson and Lou Hudson, both of Memphis.

Edna Mae Jackson-Todd

Edna Mae Jackson-Todd, 90, homemaker, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away on November 22, 2014.

Funeral services were held at Second Baptist M.B. Church in Coldwater on Friday, November 28 at 12 noon. Interment followed in Senatobia Memorial cemetery.

She is survived by a brother, James B. Jackson, of Coldwater, 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

Felix Cauthen Funeral Home in Senatobia had charge of the arrangements.

Alexander Clate Spencer

Alexander Clate Spencer, 11, passed away November 27, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanae Spencer.

He is survived by his father, Jason Spencer; brother, Blake Spencer both of Strayhorn; grandparents, Eugene and Mae Spencer of Strayhorn, Janet Colvett (Jimmy) of Matthews, Mo., Jeff Ferrell of Missouri; great grandparents, Clyde and Mary Ann Pruiett of Caruthersville, Mo.

Alexander was an outstanding baseball player and a great hunter. He attended the Crockett Church of Christ. He was an excellent sixth grade student at Strayhorn School and will be greatly missed.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Services were held Sunday November 30, at 3:00 p.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia. Burial followed in Senatobia Memorial cemetery.
