Wava Jane Crain Boyd, 89, of Lucedale, died Feb. 29, 2000, at Glenn Oaks Nursing Home in Lucedale.
Graveside services are 2 p.m. Friday at Tylertown Cemetery, with the Rev. Dan Hayes officiating. Capps Funeral Home of Tylertown is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Boyd was born July 17, 1910, in Hackley, La. She was the daughter of William Oscar Crain and Mary Fortenberry Crain.
She was a homemaker and a member of Tylertown Baptist Church.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Earl Boyd; one daughter, Wanda Honora Boyd; three brothers, William Oscar Crain Jr., Charles Crain and Marvin Crain; and one sister, Phala Wills.
Survivors include three sons, William E. Boyd of Indian Rocks Beach, Fla., Robert C. Boyd of Meridian and Ronnie Paul Boyd of Richland; two daughters, Betty Jean Crisler of Clearwater, Fla., and Wava Gloria Ward of Hurley; one brother, Dewey Crain of Vicksburg; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mattie R. Harden
Mattie Ruth Harden, 87, of Magnolia, died March 2, 2000, at Beacham Memorial Hospital.

James R. Harvey
James Ray Harvey, 79, of Vidalia, La., died May 5, 2000, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Visitation is 5-7 tonight at Laird Funeral Home in Natchez. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Spencer officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez.
Mr. Harvey was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Mississippi. He was the son of the late Daniel Pamplin Harvey and Bessie Jane Crawford Harvey.
He was a retired railroad engineer with Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was an avid hunter.
Survivors include one sister, Helen Hugh Harvey Coulon of Brandon and formerly of Vidalia; one nephew, Edgar J. “Joe” Coulon Jr. of Brandon; two great-nephews, David R. Coulon and Matthew S. Coulon, both of Vicksburg; one great-niece; Sandra Coulon Price of Vicksburg; and one great-great-nephew, Tyler Joseph Price of Vicksburg.
Pallbearers will be David R. Coulon, Matthew S. Coulon, William H. Smith, R.D. Wagner, James R. Bradshaw and Lovice Beard.

Patsy A. Strickland
Patsy Ann Strickland, 43, of Baton Rouge, La., died May 6, 2000, at Retirement Center in Baton Rouge.
Services were 10 a.m. today at McKneely Funeral Home in Kentwood, La. The Rev. Gary Raborn officiated. Burial was in Spring Creek Cemetery in Spring Creek, La.
Miss Strickland was born Jan. 14, 1957, in Baton Rouge. She was the daughter of Wilma Davis Rimes Strickland of Denham Springs, La., and the late Willie Winfred Strickland.
Survivors include her mother; one daughter, Kristy Jones of Baton Rouge; one grandson, Ian Jones of Baton Rouge; two sisters, June Ott of Denham Springs and Betty Gill of Amite, La.; one niece, Ashley Gill of Amite; and two nephews, Charles Ott Jr. of Denham Springs and Chad Ott of Baton Rouge.

Stephen L. Laird
Stephen L. Laird, 50, of Chatawa, died May 4, 2000, at Beacham Memorial Hospital in Magnolia.
Hartman Funeral Home of McComb Inc. is in charge of arrangements. Private services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Laird was born Aug. 9, 1949, in Monahans, Texas. He was the son of James L. and Lois Annelle Perkinson Laird of Metairie, La.
A Baptist, he was retired, but had worked as a private contractor.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Michael Laird.
Other survivors include two sons, Stephen Ray Laird of Chatawa and Mark David Johnson of Manassas, Va.; one daughter, Deborah Lee Laird of Lufkin, Texas; one brother, David A. Laird of Metairie; and a sister, Deborah Ermon of Metairie.
Elzie Wood
Elzie Wood of Tylertown died May 8, 2000, at his residence.

Daren K. Stinson
Daren Keith Stinson, 28, of the Enon community of Walthall County, died May 29, 2000, from injuries received in an automobile accident in Pike County.
Visitation is 5 p.m. Thursday at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church of Carters Creek in Pike County until services there at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Walter Sisco will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Catchings Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stinson was born April 3, 1972, in McComb. He was the son of Joyce Davis Pitts of Waynesboro and the late Richard Stinson.
He was a sheet metal mechanic for Quality Sheet Metal and a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Stinson was preceded in death by his father, his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Joyce and Clifford Pitts of Waynesboro; his wife, Michelle Martin Stinson of Enon; one son, Cody Blaine Stinson of Enon; two daughters, Selina Rayne Stinson and Madeline Lynn Caves, both of Enon; paternal grandmother, Doris Stinson of Tylertown; two sisters, Tiffany Rena’ Stinson and Sonja Renee Baggot, both of Waynesboro; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Floyd and Barbara Martin of Enon; and numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Jerry B. Laird
Jerry B. Laird, 61, of Liberty, died May 30, 2000, from injuries received in an automobile accident in Liberty.
Visitation is 5-9 tonight at Hartman Funeral Home of Liberty, and 9 a.m. Thursday until services there at 2 p.m. Dr. Martin Hayden and the Rev. Joe Felder will officiate. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
Mr. Laird was born Feb. 24, 1939, in Amite County. He was the son Troy Laird and Donnis Tarver Laird.
He was retired from Georgia-Pacific Corp. He was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, discipleship training director, a member of the brotherhood and other committees of the church.
He was a Master Mason and Past Master of Liberty Lodge No. 37 F&AM, where he also served as secretary for several years. He was also Worthy Patron of Charles Carroll Chapter No. 77 Order of the Eastern Star.
Mr. Laird was preceded in death by his parents, three infant daughters and two brothers, Tommy and Felix Laird.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Whittington Laird of Liberty; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jewell Lee and Marie Whittington of Liberty; four brothers, James Alford Laird of Arabi, La., Albert Laird of Mobile, Ala., Charles Laird of Liberty and Leroy Laird of McComb; one sister, Imogene Laird of Liberty; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rev. Edgar L. Case
The Rev. Edgar Lamar Case, 70, of Portland, Ore., died of a stroke May 3, 2000, at Providence Hospital in Portland.
Services were 1 p.m. Friday, May 9th, at Family Worship Center in Gresham, Ore.. The Rev. Jim Pryor and the Rev. Bob Barham officiated. Burial was in Willamette National Cemetery of Portland with full military honors. Crown Burial & Cremation Service of Milwaukie, Ore. was in charge of arrangements.
The Rev. Case was born March 16, 1930, in Magnolia. He was the son of William Edgar Case and Lorena Kennedy Case.
He was retired from Federal Bureal of Land Management and Indian Affairs, where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of Family Worship Center, where he was visitation pastoral pastor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
The Rev. Case was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Effie Martin Lang.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Gertrude Ogle Case of Portland; three sons and daughters-in-law, Sgt. 1st Class Douglas Lamar Case and Susan Case of Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Michael William Case and Carolyn Case of Wenatchee, Wash., and Kenneth L. Case and Catherine Case of Portland; one daughter and son-in-law, Gail Louise and Vincent San Martin of Portland; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Eugene Bailey of Magnolia; and eight grandchildren.

Michael A. Williams, 29, of Summit, died June 1, 2000, in Crestview, Fla.

Sylvester Bates
Sylvester Bates, 41, of Long Island, N.Y., and formerly of Summit, died of a heart attack May 30, 2000, in Long Island.

Joseph P. Templeton
Joseph Price Templeton, 91, of Centreville, died Sept. 20, 2000, at his residence.
Visitation is 10 a.m. Friday at Newman Funeral Home in Centreville, until services there at 11 a.m. The Rev. John Brashier will officiate. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Centreville.
Mr. Templeton was born Jan. 27, 1909, in Centreville. He was the son of John Marion Templeton and Elizabeth Price Templeton.
He was a retired first mate on a riverboat and a member of Centreville Baptist Church. He was also a Mason and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Liberty. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II.
Mr. Templeton was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nannie Mae “Dump” Templeton.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Elizabeth and Joe Russell of Baton Rouge, La., and Janice Templeton of Centreville; one brother, Pete Templeton of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Joleen Stephens of Union Grove, Ala., and Jennifer Ginn of Pride, La.; and three great-grandchildren.
Beulah Ballard
Beulah Ballard, 90, of Monticello, died of heart failure Sept. 20, 2000, at Lawrence County Hospital.
Services were 2 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, with the Rev. Fred Morris officiating. Burial was at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello.
Miss Ballard was born Jan. 13, 1910, in Monticello. She was the daughter of Robert Ballard and Nannie Fuller Ballard.
She was disabled and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Miss Ballard was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, Hulon Ballard, four other brothers, Recie, Plez, Ray and Chesterfield Ballard; and three sisters, Eliza Jane Williamson, Evelyn Thames and Maggie Ballard.
Survivors include a sister, Rosie Belle Smithie of Jayess.
