Selena Brannon
Selena Brannon, 87, of Holly Springs, died Feb. 1, 2006 at her home. She was a member of Finley Grove MB Church in Holly Springs and a member of the Mother’s Board. She was the head cook at Colonial Cafe truck stop.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 6 at Hopewell No. 1 MB Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. James Green officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves two daughters, Gracie Vinson of Memphis, Tenn., Lena Mae Vinson of Holly Springs; three sisters, Mary Avington of Memphis, Tenn., Lizzie Ruth Keys of Aurora, Ill., Juliette Williams of Holly Springs; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Marvin Vinson, Martin Vinson, James Vinson, Kenneth Vinson, Juantonio Tatum and Jerry Avington. Honorary pallbearers were Charles Morris, Clinton Odell, Patrick Vinson and Joseph Vinson.
Sarah Ruth Crossnoe
Sarah Ruth Crossnoe, 81, of Byhalia, died Feb. 6, 2006 at Methodist Germantown Hospital.
Services were held graveside at Magnolia cemetery in Collierville, Tenn. on Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. Bro. Waid Wilkes officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, Powell Crossnoe; three daughters, Sara Delashmit, Brenda Collins, both of Barton, Laurie Baker of Collerville; a sister, Shirley Forsythe of Big Sandy, Tenn.; five grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Gray.
Pallbearers were Ray Collins, Ryan Baker, Stan Ellison, Jackie Dunlap, Mark Baker, James Cox, Gerald Smith.
Bulah Mae Penilton Gulledge
Bulah Mae Penilton Gulledge, 63, of Lamar, died Feb. 1, 2006 at her home. She was the widow of David Gulledge. She was an usher, a member of the choir, a stewardess, an assistant teacher at Holly Springs Intermediate School and Sand Flat High School. She was an assembly line worker for 20 years at Carrier, Inc., in Collierville, Tenn.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Hudsonville CME Church, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Bobby G. Wilson officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves two daughters, Bernetta Coleman, Almetta Faulkner, both of Holly Springs; three sons, Rev. David L. Gulledge, Darryl Gulledge, Donald Gulledge, all of Lamar; her father, Tom Penilton of Lamar; a sister, Venoria Hurdle of Chicago, Ill.; three brothers, Robert L. Penilton, Ernest Stephens, both of Lamar, Lawrence Johnson of Memphis, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Isom, David Glass, Michael Penilton, Curtis Isom, Ajacca Penilton and Christopher Penilton. Honorary pallbearers were Cedric Faulkner, Andrew Hurdle, Andre’ Coleman, Darryl Gulledge, Glen Coleman Sr., Glen Coleman Jr., Marcus Isom and Bradley Coleman.
M.C. Myers
M.C. Myers, 78, of Byhalia, died Feb. 1, 2006 at his home.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 6 at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Memphis, Tenn. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Edna Myers; five sons, Harvey Myers of Olive Branch, Croley Myers of Memphis, Tenn., Sherman Myers of Memphis, Tenn., Kelvyn Myers of Collierville, Braion Myers of Byhalia; two daughters, Marva Smith of Memphis, Tenn., Velma Myers of Byhalia; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Prentiss Perkins
Prentiss (Pren) Perkins, 41, of Holly Springs, died Jan. 30, 2006 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a factory worker with L.P. Vinyl.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 4 at Kimbrough Chapel MB Church in Lamar, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. James W. Smith Jr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a son, Prentiss Perkins Jr. of Ashland; a stepdaughter, Kasha Mullins of Ashland; his mother, Susie Ann Zinn Perkins of Holly Springs; and a sister, Lisa Harris of Holly Springs.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Johnnie Mae Perkins.
Pallbearers were Courtney Perkins, DeRoderick Zinn, Andre Zinn, Jacquez Zinn, Christopher Zinn, Jamarcus Zinn, BaShawn Tipler, Harvey Milam, Thaddeus Zinn, Christopher Perkins and Travis Johnson.
Mavis Virginia Rhea
Mavis Virginia Rhea, 75, of Memphis, Tenn., died Feb. 3, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital. She was a Presbyterian and a bookkeeper with River City Masonry.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Slayden cemetery.
She leaves many loving nieces and nephews and friends.
Emily Hollowell
April 8, 1983 - Nov. 30, 2002
NATCHEZ - Services for Emily Hollowell, 19, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2002, in Joshua Tree, Calif., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Basilica with the Revs. Alfred Camp and David O'Connor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church with a rosary service at 7 p.m. today.
Ms. Hollowell was born
April 8, 1983, in Natchez, the daughter of David Ray and Ann Liddell Marlow Hollowell.
She was a member of St. Mary Basilica, a 2001 graduate of Cathedral High School and a student at Hinds Community College in Raymond.
Ms. Hollowell was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James F. Hollowell.
Survivors include her parents; three brothers, Gregory Hollowell and his wife, Dana, both of Twenty Nine Palms, Calif., and Daniel Hollowell and Eric Hollowell, both of Natchez; her maternal grandparents, Orvis and Inez Marlow of Natchez; her paternal grandmother, Martha Tucker Hollowell of Vicksburg; her paternal great-grandparents, Susan and Ray Sasser of Vicksburg; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be James Brown, Scott McLemore, Jim Sandel, Ben Bassi, Mark Steckler and Andrew Hollowell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Phillip Scurria, Dr. Thomas Carey and Dr. Frank Guedon.

Que Marshall Dunbar Sr.

WOODVILLE - Services for Que Marshall Dunbar Sr., 59, of New Orleans, who died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at his residence, will be at noon Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church with the Rev. Roosevelt Palmer officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Rest cemetery No. 2 under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home.
Visitation is from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Dunbar was born
Jan. 24, 1943, in Woodville, the son of Cero Dunbar and Willie Bynum.
He was a former employee of F. Grover Trucking.
Mr. Dunbar was preceded in death by his wife, Cherry Harris Dunbar; his parents; his grandparents; three brothers; one sister; one aunt; one uncle; and his stepfather.
Survivors include two sons, Que Marshall Dunbar Jr. and his wife, Judy, and Fredrick Dunbar and his wife, Angela, all of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Theresa Dunbar of Woodville and Jennifer Varnado of New Orleans; five brothers, Earnest Dunbar of Lancaster, Calif., Willie Bynum and Freddie Carter and his wife, Rose, all of Maywood, Ill., and Lesly Dunbar and Felix Bynum, both of Woodville; five grandchildren; eight sisters, Charlie Mae Dunbar, Martha Ward and her husband, James, Gloria McQuirter and her husband, John, Sally McDonald and her husband, John, Uslee Scott and her husband, James, Elsie Bynum, Hattie Brown and her husband, Douglas, and Nevendka Bynum, all of Woodville; two uncles, Alex Bynum of Woodville and Cooper Dunbar of Maywood, Ill.; one foster uncle, Tyrone Bynum of Los Angeles; three aunts, Bessie Grover of Woodville, Cinderella Fisher of Baton Rouge and Laura Mae Ford of San Francisco; one foster aunt, Paula Jean Bynum of Los Angeles; four brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; one cousin, Jammie G. FAYETTE - Services for David Williams, 19, of Natchez, who died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at noon Saturday at Hollywood Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. E.E. Colenburg officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral home.
The procession will leave at 11:15 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home.

Mr. Williams was born
Nov. 9, 1983, in New Orleans, the son of Diane Jones and David Sylvester III.
He attended public school in Japan and Natchez.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father; his grandmother, Virginia Green; and his grandfather, Howard Davis.

Bernard Hyder
PORT GIBSON - Services for Bernard Hyder, 57, of Jackson, who died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating.
Burial will follow in Springhill Missionary Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until funeral time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Hyder worked as an operator at Beesley's Saw Mill for many years and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mattie Simmons-Hyder.
Survivors include his wife, Sherwyn G. Hyder; three sons, Quintin Rhodes of Jackson and Elbert Hyder and Tommy Hyder, both of Port Gibson; one stepson, Terrence L. Linston of Houma, La.; three daughters, Joyce Ann Hyder of Port Gibson and Gloria Rhodes-Tornes and Kim Rhodes-Barber, both of Jackson; 19 grandchildren, including Kimberly Hyder and Tamarcio Hyder, both of Port Gibson, and Kimbriuna A. Ducksworth of Jackson; one great-grandson, Shykeem Thompson of Port Gibson; eight brothers, Eddie L.
