William Travis Hickman

William Travis “Bill” Hickman, 66, of Dyersburg, Tenn., died April 2, 2006. He was a retired employee of Covington Electric, a Mason and a US Army veteran.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on April 6 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

He leaves two sons, Gary Hickman and his wife Lisa, Rick Hickman, both of Holly Springs; three sisters, Linda Gail Betts of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Pat Mancell, Nadine Thedford, both of Dyersburg; a brother, Leon Hickman of Haleyville, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Morgan, Evan and Everett (Blue) Hickman, all of Holly Springs.

Pallbearers were Larry Moody, Jeff Box, Charles Crain, David Via, Nick Moody and Roger Cook. Honorary pallbearers were Jamie Moody and Steven Wright.

Memorials may be made to Byhalia United Methodist Church.

Mary Elizabeth Munn

Mary Elizabeth Munn, 90, of Red Banks, died April 3, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was the widow of J.P. Munn and a member of Red Banks United Methodist Church.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on April 6 at Red Banks cemetery. Bro. Don Wilson officiated.

She leaves a son, George A. Goodman of Red Banks; a daughter, Nancy Goodman Mikell of Charleston, S.C.; and a daughter, Sarah W. Parrish of Memphis, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Edwards Russell; and a brother, Charles P. Parrish.

Floy R. Patrick

Floy R. Patrick, 73, of Thyatira, died April 8, 2006 at her home. She was the owner of Chulahoma General Store for 40 years and a member of Wyatte Baptist Church.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on April 10 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Senatobia. Burial was in Cathey cemetery in Wyatte. Rev. Scott Rogers and Rev. Chuck Patrick officiated.

She leaves her husband, Raymond A. Patrick; a daughter, Linda Gail Owens of Wyatte; two sons, Charles Gary Patrick, Raymond Mark Patrick, both of Thyatira; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Wyatte Baptist Church.

Marquanthony DeAndre Pritchard

Marquanthony DeAndre (Pooh) Pritchard, 20, of Holly Springs, died April 1, 2006 at Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of Pleasant Grove MB Church in Red Banks and a maintenance worker with MIC Housing in Holly Springs.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on April 8 at Anderson Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. Rev. Deldrick Leasure officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his mother, Pattie R. (Shag) Pritchard of Holly Springs; his father, Mark (Coon) Wright of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Melanie Pritchard, Sacoya Wright, both of Memphis, Tenn.; four brothers, Zacharian Pritchard, Corey Pritchard, both of Holly Springs, Markio Wright, Marcaus Wright, both of Memphis, Tenn.; his grandmothers, Pattie Mae Pritchard, Janie McNeil, both of Holly Springs; and his grandfather, Eddie McNeil of Holly Springs.

Pallbearers were members of the Holly Springs Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers were Zacharian Pritchard, Corey Pritchard, Markio Wright, Marcaus Wright, Shun Hughes, Demeion Hughes, Chris Neely, Troy D. Wright, Larry Wright, Charles Faulkner and William Robinson.

Joseph Paul Ridgway

Joseph Paul Ridgway, 87, of Holly Springs, died Friday, April 7, 2006. He was a WWII Army veteran who served in the Pacific, and was past president of VFW Post #5697 in Holly Springs

Services were April 11 at 11 a.m. at Collierville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Magnolia cemetery, with military honors.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mattie Emma; his sisters, Elaine Noble of Appleton City, Mo., and Floee Lynch of Grand Bay, Ala.; his brothers, John E. Ridgway of Clinton, Mo., James Lee Ridgway of Harrisonville, Mo., and Edwin Ridgway of Palmetto, Fla.

Mary Francis Wilkins

Mary Francis (Dollie) Wilkins, 87, of Byhalia, died April 6, 2006 at her home. She was the widow of Will Wilkins Jr. She attended Church of God in Christ Church in Byhalia.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on April 11 at Free Branch MB Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves three daughters, Irene Garsa, Earlene Wilkins, both of Byhalia, Bessie Wilkins of Jackson; three sons, Willie Wilkins Jr. of Byhalia, Harry Wilkins of Holly Springs, Robert Lee Wilkins of Como; two sisters, Tinnie Heath, Annie Heath, both of Aurora, Ill.; a brother, Napoleon Heath of Holly Springs; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Ronald Johnson McBride
Ronald Johnson McBride, 55, of Ashland, died Sept. 30, 2005 in Ashland. He was disabled.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 2 at Beech Hill Church of Christ near Ripley, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Minister King McCarver officiated, assisted by Minister James Draper. McBride Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his son, Ronald Eric McBride of Ashland; two brothers, Gary McBride of Hickory Flat, Steve McBride of Ripley; and one grandson.

Pallbearers were Steve Farese, James Moody, Tony Farese, Micah McBride, Richard Woods and French Woods.

Rickey Jerome Moore
Rickey Jerome Moore, 51, of San Bernardino, Calif., died Sept. 15, 2005 at his home. He was a machine operator for The Sun newspaper of San Bernardino.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 29 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Baptist Hill MB Church cemetery in Potts Camp. Rev. Deldrick Leasure officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Gwendolyn Moore; a daughter, Betty Brown of Atlanta, Ga.; two stepsons, Maurice Brown of Rochester, N.Y., Will Brown of Ralston, Va.; five sisters, Marilyn Shinault, Melody Walls, Carolyn Grayson, Sheryl Grayson, all of Memphis, Tenn., Sherrie Scales of Eden, N.C.; a brother, Jesse Grayson of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Grayson; and a brother, Lucious Clarence Waldon Jr.

Margaret Carter Palmer
Margaret Carter Palmer, 93, of Holly Springs, died Sept. 24, 2005 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Magee. She was the widow of H. Guy Palmer. She was a former piano teacher. She served as organist at First Baptist Church in Holly Springs for more than 50 years.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on Sept. 28 at First Baptist Church in Holly Springs, where she was a member. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery in Holly Springs. Bro. James Parham and Dr. Curtis Ferrell officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves four daughters, Dorothy Parham of Canton, Carolyn Nane of Fort Worth, Tx., Marjorie Blackwell of Magee, Elizabeth Polk of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mabel Piper, Georgia Myers, both of Ruston, La.; a brother, Rolland Carter of Virginia; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Spigener.

Memorials may be made to State Mission Offering for Lottie Moon Offering.

Earl Price
Earl Price, 82, of Ashland, died Sept. 23, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a church trustee, steward and usher. He was retired from the Benton County Road Division.

Services were held at 12 noon on Oct. 1 at Mt. Zion CME Church in Benton County, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Harper officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Verlene Dean Price; two daughters, Doris Price, Beatrice Pirtle, both of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, James E. Price of Olive Branch; two sisters, Annie Ruth Glason of Memphis, Tenn., Ivy Bell Price of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Eric Price of Newport News, Va.; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers were Ernest Price, Lindell Price, Sterling Tallie, Lee Price, Robert Tallie, Tran Price. Honorary pallbearers were Jessie Crawford, Thurmond Rutherford, Walter Webber, Henry Tallie, Willie T. Matthews and Walter Reaves.

Sweetie Mae Wilson
Sweetie Mae Wilson, 70, of Aurora, Ill., formerly of Holly Springs, died Sept. 21, 2005 at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora. She was a retired presser for a dry cleaners.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 1 at Union Valley MB Church in Byhalia, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Joe Tunstall officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her niece who cared for her, Penny Austin of Aurora, Ill.; her nephew who cared for her, Murry Ship of Aurora, Ill.; four sisters, Loris Shipp of Byhalia, Susieanna Wilson of New York, Kimberly Wilson, Jessica Wilson, both of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Sammy Wilson, Junior (Cat) Wilson, both of Gary, Ind., Ray Wilson of Memphis, Tenn.

Pallbearers were David Harris, Gene Earl Hardin, Lecedric Houston, Steve Harris, Frank Rayford, Steve Harris. Honorary pallbearers were Lawrence Harris, James Shipp, Donald Warren, Michael Harris, Murry Shipp and Prentiss Harris.

Virginia Lavale Algee
Virginia Lavale Algee, 52, of Holly Springs, died Sept. 22, 2005 at her home. She was a member of Red Banks United Methodist Church. She was an employee of Gem. Inc. and Mulay Plastics.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 24 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Grubb Hill cemetery in Byhalia. Bro. Jamie Fish officiated.

She leaves her mother, Jane Algee of Holly Springs; three brothers, Maynard Algee Jr. of Corinth, Robert Algee of Ashland, John Algee of Holly Springs; and two sisters, Carol Huey of Red Banks and Evie Boyd of Senatobia.

Pallbearers were Roger Boyd, Scott Boyd, Heath Hyde, Jason Hyde, David Algee, Robin Algee, Eric Algee and Justin Huey.

Eldora Gill Craine
Eldora Gill Craine, 86, of Holly Springs, died Sept. 15, 2005 at Alliance HealthCare System. She was the widow of Odell Craine and a former church usher, choir member and church mother.

Services were held at 12 noon on Sept. 22 at Free Branch MB Church in Holly Springs, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Lee Gill officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a daughter, Lucy Mae Craine of Holly Springs; a brother, Pete Gill of Holly Springs; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, Oddie Lee Craine.

Pallbearers were Rickey Rogers, Eldred Cochran, Chris Craine, Ezell Hardin, Morris Harris, Rickey Jeffries. Honorary pallbearers were Shirley Jeffries, Ivory Craine, Pete Gill Jr., Sheila Jones, Pete Gill and Diane Hardin.

James Street Durham
James Street Durham, 85, of Snow Lake, died Sept. 22 , 2005. He was the widower of Jeanne Inman Durham, a Baptist, a civil service employee, and a veteran of the Marines.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Ashland cemetery.

He leaves two sons, Phillip Dale Durham of Memphis, Tenn., Michael Durham of Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Mary Stroupe of Memphis, Tenn., Nell Horton of Byhalia; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jeanne Durham.

James Ralph Ferrell
James Ralph Ferrell, 78, of Holly Springs, died Sept. 21, 2005 at his home. He was a retired grocery store owner and member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church in Lafayette County.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 23 at United Funeral Service Chapel. Burial was in Philadelphia cemetery. Bro. Kenny Adair officiated.

He leaves his wife, Merlene Rogers Ferrell; a daughter, Robyne Earnest of Collierville; a son, Roger Ferrell of Cordova, Tenn.; three brothers, Billy Ferrell of New Albany, Bernard Ferrell of Kennett, Mo., Thomas Ferrell of Holly Springs; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Ferrell, Jerry Ferrell, Randy Ferrell, Scott Ferrell, James Garrison, Danny Rogers, Ronald Gregg and Fred Churchill.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Corrine Ferrell Liles.
