WOODVILLE -- Services for Richard M. "Dick" Inman Jr., 70, of Woodville, who died Monday, July 22, 2002, at Field Memorial Community Hospital in Centreville will be at 11 a.m. today at Woodville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ray Branch, Warren Whitaker and Tom Sexton officiating.
Burial will follow in Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Berryhill Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Inman was born
Jan. 24, 1932, in Woodville, the son of Audrey Dickey and Richard Moses Inman.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army, and a member of Woodville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Inman was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, A.B. Inman.
Survivors include one brother, Charles D. Inman of Woodville; two nieces, Renee I. McGraw and Laura Ann I. Whetstone; one sister-in-law, Gerry Inman; and one great-niece.
Pallbearers will be Kirk Smith, Ikey Carter, Jerry Johnston, John Dale, Clifton L. Sanders and Robert Redhead.
Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Darden, W.G. Johnson Jr., David R. Smith, Jerry Nettles, Todd Sanders, Ernest Jones, Robert Morgan and Mark Haynes.
The family requests memorials be made to Wilkinson County Christian Academy.
Harley H. Muse
Harley H. Muse, 90, of New Port Richie, Fla., formerly of Hickory Flat, died June 16, 2005 at Forrest Glen Manor in New Port Richie. He was the widower of Clara Muse, a factory foreman with Deluxe Factory.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on June 25 at First United Methodist Church in Hickory Flat, where he was a member. Burial will be in Pisgah cemetery in Hickory Flat.
He leaves a daughter, Bobbie M. Barfield of Houston, Tx.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Alice Ellis
Sept. 1, 1908 -- July 26, 2002
NATCHEZ -- Services for Alice Mae "Noonie" Ellis, 93, of Natchez, who died Friday, July 26, 2002, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at West Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. F.L. Pendleton officiating.
Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.
Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ellis was born
Sept. 1, 1908, in Natchez, the daughter of Robert and Annie Armstrong Ellis.
She was a graduate of the Natchez school system, a retired cafeteria manager for the NATCHEZ - Adams School District and a member of Southwood Lodge Baptist Church, where she served on the mother's board.
Survivors include two godchildren, Dorothy Chatman and Shirley Sewell Matthews and her husband, James; four cousins, Catherine Ellis, Joshua Ellis, Mable Ellis and Ella Jackson; four friends, Alicia Ellis, Christine Sewell, Amelia Smith and James Johnson and his wife, Mary; caregivers, the Rev. and Mrs. F.L. Pendleton; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Jessie Harrison
NATCHEZ -- Services for Jessie C. Harrison, 67, of Natchez, who died Friday, July 27, 2002, at Natchez Community Hospital will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pearson officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Nils Edward Pallesen
Nils Edward Pallesen, 74, of Memphis, Tenn., died June 13, 2005 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. He was Catholic. He was a management consultant with Pallesen Consulting Services, LLC. He was a captain in the US Marine Corps and a veteran of Korea.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on June 16 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Temperance Hill cemetery in Potts Camp.
He leaves his wife, Martha H. Pallesen; a brother, Robert D. Pallesen of Ocala, Fla.; and two sisters, Ellen A. Kurtz of New York, N.Y., Betty J. Lynn of Orlando, Fla.
Pallbearers were Edward Lynn, Bob Pallesen, Frank Howell, Ralph Hill, Stewart Howell, Clyde Howell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
Mary Moore Sumlar
Mary Moore Sumlar, 84, of Holly Springs, died June 12, 2005 at Alliance HealthCare System. She was the widow of Albert Sumlar.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on June 18 at Newell Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Spencer Mathis officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a daughter, Margaret Moore of Holly Springs; four sisters, Clara Blake, Mildred Wynn, both of Memphis, Tenn., Thelma Gatewood of Detroit, Mich., Alma McAuley of Byhalia; a brother, Edgar (Puppy) Moore of Red Banks; 11 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jessie Hughes, Melvin Moore, Marco Hughes, Edgar Moore Jr., Bobby Moore, Kedrick Moore.
Mamanola Macon Tipler
Mamanola Macon Tipler, 75, of Lamar, died June 11, 2005 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was a member of the mother board, a member of the finance committee, a church kitchen manager and a former usher. She was a retired factory worker with ABC of Ashland.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on June 18 at St. James Church of God In Christ in Ripley, where she was a member. Burial was in St. Luke COGIC cemetery in Ashland. Superintendent Bernell Hoyle officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, James Tipler; two daughters, Angela Robinson of Ashland, Dorothy Bills of Holly Springs; four sons, Dr. Johnny Bills of Fayette, Roosevelt Bills of Ripley, Nathaniel Bills of Holly Springs, Dwight Steward of Bolivar, Tenn.; three sisters, Virtee Elmore of Maywood, Ill., Mary Elmore of Calumet City, Ill., Leona Pate of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, James Macon of Maywood, Ill., L.B. Macon of Toone, Tenn.; 26 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Smith.
Pallbearers were Tyrone Smith, Roosevelt Reaves, Carl Robinson, Cornelius Robinson, James Macon Jr., Larry Crawford, Ralph Tipler, Craig Tipler, Larry Coleman. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Johnny Bills, Ricky Pate, James Macon, L.B. Macon, Roosevelt Bills, Nathaniel Bills, Alex Williams.
Kenneth Samuel Carlisle
Kenneth Samuel Carlisle, 46, of Byhalia, died June 26, 2005 at his home. He was a Baptist.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on June 30 at Flag Lake Baptist Church in Strayhorn. Burial was in the church cemetery. Womble Funeral Home, Charleston, was in charge of arrangements. Rev. J.C. Thomas officiated.
He leaves a companion who cared for him, Kimberly Mixon; four sisters, Mary Catherine Fix of Oxford, Mattie Lorece DipBoye of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Rebecca Dale Carlisle of Tahlequah, Okla., Margaret Imogene Carlisle of Stillwell, Okla.; five brothers, Thomas Leroy Carlisle of Crenshaw, David Lee Carlisle of Charleston, Navis Genie Carlisle of Ardmore, Okla., Benjamin House Carlisle of Missouri, Anthony Louis Carlisle of Horn Lake.
Jackie Crawford
Jackie Crawford, 58, of Michigan City, died Monday, June 27, 2005 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto in Southaven. He was born
in Benton County. He moved to Chicago in 1966; he stayed there for 20 years, then moved back to Mississippi.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on July 3 at Samuel Chapel Baptist Church in Ashland. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Joseph Davis Jr. officiated. Serenity Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves three sons, Tarrence Crawford, Jackie Crawford, both of Chicago, Ill., Kenny Robinson of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Chandra Crawford of Chicago, Ill.; his mother, Floy B. Smith of Michigan City; a brother, Tom Berry Jr. of Racine, Wisc.; two sisters, Alberta Johnson of Oakland, Calif., Diane Gamble of Birmingham, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
Jo Margaret Good
Jo Margaret Good, 59, of Lamar, died June 28, 2005 at Baptist Hospital in Collierville, Tenn. She was a secretary with banking/retail.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on July 3 at Bridgeway Baptist Church in Barton, where she was a member. Bro. Gary Adams officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her dearest and closest friend, Robert L. Abbot of Lamar; a brother, Hubert Holman of Fairview Park, Ohio; and a sister, Janet Spect of Rocky River, Ohio.
Linda Gurner Maholm
Linda Gurner Maholm, 55, of Holly Springs, died July 1 at Baptist East in Memphis. She was a Baptist, and co-owner of Byhalia Drug Co. where she was a pharmacy technician. She was one of the founders of the Clydesdale Christmas Store and a member of the MS State Dugout Club. She loved baseball.
Services were held at 10 a.m. on July 3 at the Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery.
She leaves her husband, Gary Maholm; two sons, Michael L. Maholm and Paul G. Maholm, both of Holly Springs; her parents, Edwin Claitor Gurner and Erma Thompson; one brother, Jimmy Gurner of Jackson; and one sister, Kathy Arich of Madison.
Memorials may be made to the Clydesdale Christmas Store.
Helen Stanton Moore
Helen Stanton Moore, 59, of Holly Springs, died June 29 at her home. She was Pentecostal.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on July 3 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery.
She leaves her husband, James D. Moore; two daughters, Reba M. Trayler of Sheridan, Wyo., Karen M. Moore of Richmond, Va.; three brothers, Kenneth Stanton of Potts Camp, Richard Stanton of Jackson, Tenn., David Stanton of Potts Camp; five sisters, Joann Feasel of Olive Branch, Ruth Johnson of Bebe, Ark., Wilma Allen of Lamar, Shelia Stanton of Tunica, Betty Clarkson; three grandchildren.
Kelly D. Wooten
Kelly D. Wooten, 26, of Senatobia, died June 28, 2005 at Batesville. He was a construction worker.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on July 2 at Mt. Moriah CME Church in Como. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home in Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves one daughter, Lakala McNeal of Como; two sons, Kelly Deowen Wooten Jr. of Como and Kevious Deowen McGhee of Senatobia; his mother, Corine Wooten of Senatobia; four sisters, Rosie Burton, Caroline Burton, Mae Wooten, all of Senatobia, Mary Ward of Como; three brothers, Johnny Wooten, Elvis Burton, both of Como, Jimmy Wooten of Laws Hill.
Jeffrey Lynn Cole
Jeffrey Lynn Cole, 45, of Bartlett, Tenn., died July 4, 2005 in Memphis, Tenn. He was a Christian and a shipping/receiving clerk with AIM Power and Fluids Inc.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on July 10 at Carey Chapel Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his mother, Edith Cole of Memphis; a brother, Joe Cole of Memphis; a sister, Carla Black of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert M. Cole; and a brother, Christopher Cole.
