John Earl Belfor

John Earl Belfor, 86, of Holly Springs, died May 10, 2006 at V.A. Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and a World War II Army veteran.

Services were held at 12 noon on May 15 at Gray’s Chapel CME Church in Hudsonville, where he was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Rod Lester officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves a son, John E. (Sparky) Belfor of Holly Springs; and four grandchildren, Arvy Belfor of Tupelo, Loretta Aldridge of Memphis, Tenn., Taundrea Boga and Jeremy J. Brown, both of Holly Springs.

Pallbearers were family and friends. Honorary pallbearers were Gilbert Lowe, Willie Riddle, Joe Franklin, Ellis Shaw and Willie Miller.

Garmilla Ann Bell

Garmilla Ann Bell, 51, of Gulfport, died May 13, 2006 at her home. She was a Baptist.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on May 18 at McKay cemetery in Hickory Flat.

She leaves a daughter, Renee Dowd of Plymouth, Mass.; three brothers, Milton Bell of Hernando, Charles Bell of Bainbridge, Ga., Doug Teel of Holly Springs; a sister, Chris Gray of Hickory Flat; two grandchildren and her best friend and companion, Gilbert Newman III of Saucier.

Clarence Edward Blackmon

Clarence Edward Blackmon, 55, of Holly Springs, died May 5, 2006 at his home. He was an auto mechanic, and a factory worker with Forgery and Die Company.

Services were held at 12 noon on May 13 at Chulahoma MB Church, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. John E. Booker officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Donzella Wilson Blackmon of Coldwater; a daughter, Yolanda Joyner of Coldwater; two sons, Travis Blackmon of Southaven, Keith Blackmon of Columbus, Ga.; nine sisters, Ivory Blackmon, Ruby Blackmon, Ethel Mosley, Joyce Blackmon, Vera D. Blackmon, all of Holly Springs, Chenelle Blackmon of Byhalia; Clara Jones of Olive Branch, Vera L. Bobo of Memphis, Tenn., Lula Wofford of Milwaukee, Wisc.; a brother, J.T. Blackmon of Holly Springs; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Elvis Blackmon Sr., Robert Blackmon and Columbus Blackmon; and a sister, Jennie Hunt.

Pallbearers were Carlos Blackmon, Mario Mosley, Anthony King, Uronde Blackmon, Elvis Blackmon and Cecil Eason. Honorary pallbearers were J.T. Blackmon, Keith Blackmon, Jevon Blackmon, Travis Blackmon, Tyrone Blackmon and Niles Blackmon.

Earl Douglas Collins Jr.

Earl Douglas Collins Jr., 66, of New Albany, died May 9 at his home. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of Jehova Witness Kingdom Hall.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on May 13 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in West Tennessee National cemetery in Memphis, Tenn.

He leaves five daughters, Monique Marks of Beloit, Wisc., Mercia Smith, Marchelle Luster of Rockford, Ill., Phyllis Williams, Charlotte Collins Roman of Jackson; four sons, Gary Collins, Randy Collins of Beloit, Wisc., Earl Collins III of Janesville, Wisc., Michael Collins of Jackson; his stepmother, Lourie Collins of New Albany; two sisters, Pauline Bannister of Beloit, Wisc, and Debrah Collins of St. Louis, Mo; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Patricia Ann Young Fletcher

Patricia Ann Young Fletcher, 59, of Byhalia, died May 7, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She attended Abundant Grace Ministries.

A memorial service was held at 4 p.m. May 13 at Brantley Funeral Home Chapel in Olive Branch.

She leaves a daughter, Pattie Fortune; three sons, Tommy Ray Henderson, David Wayne Henderson and Randall James Young; three brothers, Henry Jackson Fair, Mark A. Lambert and Glen Henry Fair; eight grandchildren; and her “significant other,” Mike Fletcher.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Margaret O’Dell Hogan

Margaret O’Dell Hogan, 80, of Holly Springs, died May 11, 2006 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Red Banks Baptist Church, owner of Margaret’s Fabrics and a retired merchant.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 16 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Red Banks cemetery.

She leaves a son, Emerald O. Alsup of Holly Springs; a brother, Billy McAlexander of Potts Camp; a sister, Patrilla Bailey of West Monroe, Ill.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Anne Marie Kelly

Anne Marie Kelly, 49, of Hickory Flat, died May 9, 2006 at her home.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on May 12 at Ashland cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves two sons, John Michael Kelly, Brian Kelly, both of Southaven; a daughter, Lindsay Kelly of Hickory Flat; a brother, John Holaday of Jackson; two sisters, Sheri Nicholas of Memphis, Tenn., Jean Hodge of Southaven; and two grandchildren.

Jo Ann Moseley

Jo Ann Moseley, 57, of Byram, died May 13, 2006 at University MS Medical Center. She was a supervisor with MS Housing Authority.

Services were held at 1 p.m. on May 17 at Hickory Flat Methodist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in McKay cemetery. Bro. Brownie Tohill officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves two sons, Jeffrey Ormon of West Point, Bradley Ormon of Jackson; one daughter, Dawn Hooper; her mother, Mary Elizabeth Rowland of Hickory Flat; and a brother, Allen Rowland of Waterford.

Kenneth James Roberts Sr.

Kenneth James Roberts Sr., 58, of Byhalia, died May 8, 2006 at Baptist Collierville. He was the widower of Jo Ann Prince Roberts. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Holly Springs; an accountant with Kroger Bakery, and a Navy Veteran of Vietnam.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 11 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Memory Hills Garden in Bartlett, Tenn. Bro. Jerry Waldrop officiated.

He leaves three sons, Kenneth James Roberts Jr. of Newport News, Va., Raymond Allen Roberts Sr. of Memphis, Tenn., Christopher Wayne Roberts of Byhalia; his mother, Louise Roberts of Belchertown, Mass.; three brothers, Mark Roberts of Lincoln, R.I.; Jerry Roberts of Windsor, Mass., Joseph Roberts of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five sisters, Sheila Craven of Suffield, Conn., Martha O’Clair of Croyden, N.H., Sara Jolicoeur of Thompson, Conn., Amanda Kavanagh, Mary Strycharz, both of Belchertown, Mass.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence G. Roberts.

Ollie May Ursey

Ollie May Ursey, 87, of Ashland, died May 14, 2006 at Tippah Co. Hospital in Ripley.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on May 17 at Ashland Church of Christ, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery.

She leaves her husband, Calvin Ursey; two daughters, Myra May Stables of Erwin, Tx., Rebecca Jo Voss of Nederland, Tx.; three sisters, Bessie Beibers, Beatrice Shackelford, Amy May, all of Ripley; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Norman L. Watkins

Norman L. Watkins, 75, of Memphis, Tenn., died May 15, 2006 at his home. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Moscow, Tenn. and retired from Fruehauf Corporation after 25 years of service.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on May 17 at Brantly Funeral Home Chapel in Olive Branch. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery in Holly Springs.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Iva Skelton Watkins; three children, Terry Watkins of Bartlett, Tenn., Vickie Gordon, Sharon Nelson, both of Memphis, Tenn.; two siblings, Connie Nolan of Southaven and Malcolm (Sonny) Watkins of Horn Lake; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Aaron Wilkins III

Aaron Wilkins III, 58, of Holly Springs, died May 7, 2006 at his home. He was a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of Beverly Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs and a crew chief with Mississippi Forestry Service.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on May 13 at Anderson Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. George Coleman Jr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Earlean Johnson Wilkins; two daughters, Youlanda Bridgette Wilkins, Jessica Isom, both of Holly Springs; three sons, Aaron Wilkins IV, Carlos Martin, Christopher Odell Wilkins, all of Holly Springs; his mother, Earye Bridgeforth Wilkins of Holly Springs; five sisters, Patty Wilkins, Velvet Barrino, both of Holly Springs, Charlene Bunch of Olive Branch, Shirley Mosley of Memphis, Tenn., Catherine Wilson of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Milton Wilkins of St. Louis, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, C.L. Wilkins.

Pallbearers were Edward Burton, Jerry Hunt, Dennis Jones, R.C. Bowen, Sam Walton, William Carter and Wadelle Ford. Honorary pallbearers were Travis Crane, Jarvis Jeffries, Chris Bridgeforth, Miguel Barrino, Eric Wilson, Lavar Jeffries and Kenneth Bunch.

Linda Carol Dortch Allen

Linda Carol Dortch Allen, 47, of Holly Springs, died May 16, 2006 in Myrtle. She was a member of the church choir. She was a 1977 graduate of Ashland High School. She was a certified nurse assistance with Home Health Care, Community Hospice, Tupelo.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 20 at Sand Hill MB Church in Lamar, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Etoy Bogard officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Jimmy Dell Allen; a daughter, Ichanvoney M. Allen of Holly Springs; a son, Jimmy Alvechie Allen of Holly Springs; a sister, Brenda Dortch Wilson of Lamar; eight brothers, Robert Dobbs, Rickey Dortch, Gregory Dortch, all of Chicago, Ill., Derrick Dortch of Ripley, Craig Dortch of Lamar, Reggie Dortch of Bolivar, Tenn, Horace Hampton of Memphis, Tenn., Frank Howery of Chicago, Ill.; and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earnest Dortch and Norris Hampton.

Pallbearers were the class of 1977. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Dobbs, Reggie Dortch, Gregory Dortch, Rickey Dortch, Derrick Dortch and Orlando Craig Dortch.

Joseph Lee Brown

Joseph Lee (Toby) Brown, 51, of Holly Springs, died May 14, 2006 at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab in Holly Springs. He was a 1973 graduate of Holly Springs High School. He was a maintenance worker with the City of Holly Springs.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on May 20 at Hopewell No. 2 MB Church in Hudsonville, where he was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. Rev. Mark Bryson officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves a daughter, Shenice Mosley of Southaven; a son, Devin Mosley of Holly Springs; four sisters, Dorothy Brown, Janice Brown, both of Holly Springs, Odessa Brown Sumlin of Greenwood, Debra Brown of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Alphonso Brown of Atlanta, Ga. and his grandmother, Oga Ware of Holly Springs.

Pallbearers were Danny Crumb, Tyrone Crumb, Joe Crumb Jr., Eric Rooks, Fred Crumb, Wayne Brown, Anthony Crumb, Lonnie Beard, Kent Beard. Honorary pallbearers were Author Crutcher, Oscar Holloway, Cliff Cowan, Rickey Hughes, Hurbert Lee Isable, Billy Ray Thompson and Oscar George.

Will A. Burton

Will A. Burton, 82, of Holly Springs, died May 16, 2006 at his home. He was the widower of Louise Robinson Burton. He was a retired bus driver and a member of Masonic Lodge #241.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on May 20 at Chulahoma MB Church in Holly Springs, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home of Coldwater was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves three daughters, Willie Mae Harris of Holly Springs, Lorene Miller, pastor Mae Palmer, both of Aurora, Ill.; a sister, Mae Lee Street of Milwaukee, Wisc.; a brother, Bobby Howell of Forrest City, Ark.; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
