Mae Omia Bolden, 78, of Holly Springs, died Sept. 2, 2006. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Sept. 5 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Early Grove cemetery in Slayden. Bro. Frank Feathers officiated.
She leaves two sons, Curtis William Bolden of Horseheads, NY, Walter Leon Bolden of Holly Springs; a daughter, Susie May Churchill of Byhalia; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Sanford Churchill, Tommy Garrison, Brandon Scruggs, Randy Churchill, Larry Hutchens, Garrett Bailey. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Churchill and Rickey Rooker.
Carrie Mae Dowdy Collins Evans
Carrie Mae Dowdy Collins Evans, 82, of Holly Springs, died Aug. 25, 2006 at her home. She was a member of Kimbrough Chapel MB Church and a church usher.
Services were held at 12 noon on Sept. 2 at Finley Grove MB Church in Holly Springs, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. J.W. Smith Jr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, Herbert Evans Jr.; three daughters, Sally Woodson of Holly Springs, Dorothy Lipson of Memphis, Tenn., Jerlean McNeil of Lexington, Ky.; a sister, Lela Mae Franklin of Memphis, Tenn.; 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five children, Andrew Collins Sr., Daniel Collins Jr., Clarence Collins, Leroy Collins and Lorine Collins.
Pallbearers were Roger Woodson, Andrew Collins Jr., Melvin McNeil, Lamont McNeil, Darren Collins, Isaac McNeil. Honorary pallbearers were George Woodson, Herman Houston, Robert Woodson, A.J. Bailey, Henry McDonald, Monroe Lipson, Jason Bownes, Joe Ayers and Joe Louis Evans.
Cenora (Pat) Hill Grant
Cenora (Pat) Hill Grant, 92, of Byhalia, died Aug. 28 at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab in Holly Springs. She was a member of Eason Grove MB Church in Byhalia, a member of the Mother Board, a former member of Hearn Grove MB Church and a former usher there. The widow of Edward T. Grant, she was a retired cook at Tudor and Ellis Nursing Home in Temple, Texas.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on Sept. 2 at Hearn Grove MB Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Charles Jones officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves two daughters, Dartha McKissack of Byhalia, Christine Robinson of Chandler, Texas; seven grandchildren and a dear niece, Minnie Hill of Byhalia.
Pallbearers were Otice Spears, Derrick Walker, Robert Hill, Otis Charles Hill, Jimmy McKissack, Kemp Hill Jr., Joseph Hill and Adam Hill.
Lillie Mae Harris
Lillie Mae (Puddin) Harris, 73, of New Albany, died Aug. 29, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She joined Reid’s Gift Church at an early age.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 1 at Golden Gate Church of God in Christ. Burial was in McKay cemetery in Hickory Flat. Elder Robert Hamilton officiated. Serenity Funeral Home of New Albany was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, James Edward Harris; five children, Rickey Joe Harris, Margie Ticer, Wanda Cullens, Dwayne Harris, David Neal Harris, all of New Albany; a stepdaughter, Ishabella Harris of Holly Springs; two sisters, Betty Jewel Hill of Hickory Flat, Hattie B. Box of Rockford, Ill.; a brother, Sid Walker of Potts Camp; 33 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
Four children preceded her in death.
Dallas Holbrook
Dallas Holbrook, 83, of Arkadelphia, Ark., formerly of Ashland, died Aug. 31, 2006. He was the widower of Martha Elizabeth Carr Holbrook. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II, a radio operator on a C-47 in European Theater in World War II and a member of First United Methodist Church of Arkadelphia. He was a retired Clark County Extension Agent for 29 years.
Services were held at 3 p.m. on Sept. 3 at Liberty Methodist Church in Ashland. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro. William Kemp officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves two sons, Bruce Holbrook of Richmond, Va., Rex Holbrook of Arkadelphia, Ark.; two brothers, John Holbrook of Ashland, William Seth Holbrook of Memphis, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Vivian Holbrook.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, c/o the Men’s Bible Class.
Billie Ferrell Ford

NATCHEZ -- Services for Billie Ferrell Ford, 97, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, in Natchez, will be at 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. James Earl Herndon officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ford was born
Jan. 14, 1905, in Warren, Ark., the daughter of Robert and Allie Reep Ferrell.
She was a member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Ray Ford; six sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors include two nephews, Travis Beard and his wife, Shirley, both of Warren, and Bobby Ferrell of Alaska; and friends, Baby Ruth and Barnett Gammill, both of Natchez.
George Allen Belton

NATCHEZ -- Services for George Allen Belton, 59, of Natchez, who died Friday, July 5, 2002, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Second Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley B. Searcy officiating.
Burial followed in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mr. Belton was born
Jan. 15, 1943, in Adams County, the son of Maude Wilson and Alton Gibson.
He was a logger and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, George Belton Jr. of Natchez; one sister, Rosie Wilson of Natchez; five brothers, Sylvester Wilson, Arthur Wilson and his wife, Annie, and Willie Wilson and his wife, Lena, all of Natchez, Samuel Gibson and his wife, Betty, and Maurice Gibson and his wife, Angie, all of Roundrock, Texas; two stepbrothers, Robert Sylvester of Natchez and Edward Sylvester of Chicago; one aunt, Gertrude Belton of Natchez; one great-aunt, Joanna Murphy of Natchez; one uncle, Clyde Belton of Cleveland; two uncles-in-law, Wilson Early and Fayette Marsaw, both of Natchez; one stepmother, Isabella Gibson of Natchez; friends including, Diane Sadler; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.

NATCHEZ -- Services for Beatrice Frazier Ligon, 80, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. today at Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford officiating.
Burial followed in Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation is from noon until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Ligon was born
Aug. 1, 1921, at daughter of Mary and Sam Frazier.
She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Ida Ligon Bassett of Natchez, Ruby Murphy and her husband, Jerry, both of Saginaw, Mich., Delores Bowman and her husband, Purvis, both of Natchez, and Betty Frazier Saunder of Houston; one son, Leonard L. Frazier and his wife, Artimease, both of Natchez; two sisters, Louise Tate of New Orleans and Estelle Johnson of Flint, Mich.; three brothers, J.C. Frazier and Johnny Frazier, both of Saginaw, and Louis Frazier of Greenville; one nephew, Billy Joe Frazier and his wife, Shirley, both of Natchez; sister-in-law, Theresa Ligon; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael L. Pollard, Marcellous Brooks, Glenn Logan, John Logan, Addis West and Isaiah Young.

The procession will leave at 9:45 a.m. Friday from 5 Magnolia Acres Road.

Mr. Green was born
Oct. 1, 1940, in Wilkinson County, the son of George and Julia Holliday Green.
He was a retired farmer and a member and deacon of Zion Chapel No. 2 Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Marie Butler Green; seven sons, Milton Green and Darnell Green, both of Natchez, Elbert Green Jr. and Eric Green, both of Houston, Michael Butler and Louis Washington, both of Las Vegas, and Richard Butler of Riverside, Calif.; five daughters, Ida M. Morris and Caroline Green, both of Natchez, Inez Bantoc, Deloris West and Patricia Butler, all of Las Vegas; one goddaughter, Marie Conner of Houston; father-in-law, Willie Birdie of Natchez; four brothers, Luke Green, Hollis Green and Junius Green, all of Natchez, and Thomas J. Green of New Orleans; two sisters, Cassie Amos of Middletown, Ohio, and Lizzie Lewis of New Orleans; 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
