Catherine Corban Therkildson

NATCHEZ - Services for Catherine Corban Therkildson, 94, of Jefferson County, who died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002, at her residence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Landrum officiating.
Burial will follow in Fayette City cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Therkildson was born
Sept. 15, 1908, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Marvin Whitfield and Bessie Beam Corban.
She was a longtime resident of Fayette and an employee of the Fayette Post Office from the late 1940s until her retirement in 1968.
Mrs. Therkildson was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Aubrey Corban Goss, Bessie D. Corban, Margaret Corban Green, Imogene Corban Dean and Eugenia Corban Ford; and four brothers, Marvin Corban Jr., Edmond Corban, Durahn Corban and David Lee Corban.
Survivors include one daughter, Catherine T. Harris and her husband, Hugh, both of Columbia, Mo.; one sister, Mary Corban Hossley of Waynesville, N.C.; one brother, William Cunningham Corban and his wife, Elsie, both of New Orleans; two grandsons, David Smith Harris and his wife, Monica, both of Ashland, Mo., and Michael Gilbert Harris of New Orleans; one granddaughter, Susan Corban Harris and her husband, Jeremy, both of Los Angeles; two nieces, Hollan Goss Robinson of Ocean Springs and Cecelia Hossley Milner of Winnsboro, S.C.; three nephews, John Green of Terry, Don Corban of Collins and Marvin Hossley of Zirconia, N.C.; three great nieces; and nine great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Green, Dr. Virginia Moffit Crawford, Dr. John Moffit, Ty Corban, John Tuttle and David Huber.
Memorials may be made to Fayette United Methodist church or Hospice Ministries of Natchez.
Warene Wilson Nations
LORMAN - Graveside services for Warene Wilson Nations, 77, of Vicksburg, who died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 at River Region Medical Center, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cane Ridge cemetery with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Vicksburg.
Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Nations was born
in Claiborne County, the daughter of Ellis and Ovie Wilson.
She was a homemaker and a resident of Vicksburg for 16 years.
Mrs. Nations was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ellis Wilson Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Wilbur F. Nations Sr.; one son, Wilbur F. Nations Jr. of Vidalia, La.; one daughter, Sherry Lowery of Vicksburg; one brother, Roy Wilson of Vicksburg; three sisters, Ruth Curtis of Utica, Dot Sweeney of Vidalia and Virginia Yarberry of Dallas; four grandchildren, Dr. Kelly Nations, Teasha Brewer and Michael Lowery, all of Vicksburg, and Janna Townsend of Scott, La.; and four great-grandchildren, Allyson Townsend, Hunter Townsend and Dakota Townsend, all of Scott, and Brittany Brewer of Vicksburg.
Pallbearers will be Mike Lowery, Bobby Ross, Brian Ross, David Brewer, Timmy Sweeney, Ray Sweeney and Terry Sweeney.
Dollinda Riley Garrison

KINGSTON - Services for Dollinda Riley Garrison, 44, of Vidalia, La., who died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Egypt Baptist Church with the Rev. K.E. Stanton officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Garrison was born
Sept. 28, 1958, in Natchez, the daughter of Bernard and Mary Butler Riley.
She was an admitting clerk for Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, La., and a member of Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Vidalia.
Mrs. Garrison was preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors include her father; two daughters, Letita Riley of Vidalia and LaShea Riley of Baton Rouge; four brothers, Rev. Raymond Riley and his wife, Loretta, both of Vidalia, William Riley, Bernard Riley and his wife, Nada, and Walter Williams and his wife, Erika, all of Natchez; three sisters, Carolyn Jones and her husband, Rubin, both of Baton Rouge, Claudia Green of New York, Sonya Jones and her husband, Isom, both of Jackson and Peggy Brown of Dallas; two grandsons, Quandarius Riley and Demarius Fleming, both of Vidalia; three aunts; two uncles; seven nieces; three nephews; and two godchildren, Dwayre Bush and Melvin Knight Jr., both of Vidalia.

Mrs. Ballard was born
Oct. 8, 1913, in Walthall County, the daughter of Jacob J. and Laura Dunaway Magee.
She was a member of Washington Baptist Church in Natchez.
Mrs. Ballard was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton A. "Buck" Ballard; six sisters; and one great-grandson, Jamie Buchinger.
Survivors include two daughters, Sophie Porter of McKinney, Texas and Betty Bowman of Natchez; ten grandchildren, Debbie Bailey, Tammy Oglesby, Lawrence Ringley, Carla Buchinger, Faye Jones, Linda Schaberg, Jimmy Porter, Charmaine Gaspard, Marty Porter and Karen Marshall; 18 great-grandchildren, Vanessa Duffy, Matthew Smith, Rachael Oglesby, Daniel Oglesby, Seth Ringley, Corban Ringley, Brett Buchinger, Ashley Jones, Chelsea Jones, Kalah Spencer, Renee Sunday, Holly Porter, Tiffany Porter, Daniel Porter, Kyle Porter, Taylor Gaspard, Matthew Gaspard and Ashley Marshall; six great-great-grandchildren, Connor Magee Duffy, Christian Spencer, Mackenzie Spencer, Wesley Sunday, McClain Sunday and Adam Sunday.

NATCHEZ - Services for Jessie Mae Walker, 92, of Natchez, who died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Professional Rehabiliation Hospital in Ferriday, La., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at R.D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of the funeral home.
Visitation is from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Walker was born
Jan. 8, 1910, in Natchez, the daughter of Alonzo Walker and Lucy Buchanan Walker.
She was a retired housekeeper and a Baptist.
Walker was preceded in death by her parents and 13 siblings.
Survivors include three nephews, Willie Earl Johnson of Natchez, and Preston Gilliam and Alvin Washington, both of Chicago; one niece, Dorothy Nelson of Fairfield, Calif.; one great-great-niece, Earnestine Woods of Natchez; one great-great-nephew, Cornell Washington of Minneapolis, Minn.; and two friends, the Revs. Victoria L. Fleming and Terry Ann Coleman Jackson, both of Natchez.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

MEADVILLE - Services for Beatrice Wallace Jones, 83, of Bude, who died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Franklin Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Midway cemetery in Meadville under the direction of the funeral home.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jones was born
June 25, 1919, in Franklin County, the daughter of Daniel Clifton Wallace and Sarah Elizabeth Lee Wallace.
She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kie Jones; and three brothers.
Survivors include one son, Grady Jones and his wife, Patricia, both of Natchez; one brother, Linfield Wallace of Big Springs, Texas; two sisters, Gladys Vines of Natchez and Louise Oglesby of Meadville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bonds was born
Jan. 23, 1916, in Franklin County, the daughter of Johnny Pickett and Mable Weathersby Pickett.
She was a supervisor at a shipyard in Mobile, Ala. in her early years, a homemaker and a member of New Fork United Methodist Church of Meadville.
Mrs. Bonds was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Bonds Sr.; her parents; and four sons, Johnny, Cleve, Mack and Isaac.
Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Luther Bonds Jr. and Clarence Causey, both of Meadville; eight daughters, Lula Bonds James of Natchez, Dora Bonds Richardson of Meadville, Myra Bonds Washington and Eva Bonds Rodgers, both of Natchez, Beulah Bonds Washington, Arie Bonds Walters, Pinkie Bonds Rounds and Josephine "Carrie Mae" Carradine; six brothers, Oliver Pickett of Chicago, Oscar Pickett of New Orleans, Arthur Pickett and Otis Daniel Pickett, both of Meadville, Edward Pickett and Ralph Pickett; four sisters, Guynell Pickett of Irving, Texas, Lucille Pickett of Port Gibson, Rosie Lee Williams and Luna Hilliary; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
