MONTICELLO - Services for Ruby Boyd Ballard, 91, of Monticello, who died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at Lawrence County Nursing Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Forrest Grove Methodist Protestant Church in Monticello.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home of Monticello.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Ballard was born icon Dec. 22, 1912, in Jayess, the daughter of William Boyd and Dora O'Quinn Boyd.

Rev. Charlie Newman

Funeral arrangments for Rev. Charlie Newman, 73, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Southwest Ms. Regional Medical Center, are incomplete at Webb Funeral System.

Betty Boothe Cerigny

Funeral services for Betty Booth Cerigny, 59, of Marrero, La., who died Thursday, January 1, 2004 in New Orleans, La. will be at 11 a.m. today at the Rosin Creek Pentecostal Church with the Rev. A. J. Kimball and the Rev. Shorty Mayo officiating.

Services are under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Don K. Longmire

Aug. 22, 1933 - Jan. 1, 2004

NATCHEZ - Memorial services for Don K. Longmire, 70, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, in Natchez, will be at 2 p.m. today at Cliff Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron McGuffee officiating.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Biloxi National cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Longmire was born icon Aug. 22, 1933, in Natchez, the son of John Keena and Jonnie Lou Henson Longmire.

He serviced 22 years in the United States Air Force, was a fighter pilot in Vietnam and was an instructor pilot for many international pilots. Mr. Longmire was a devoted son, who moved home to be near his parents. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Longmire was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include four children, Ronya Harris of Biloxi, Sandra Longmire of Natchez, Ken Longmire and Linda Welter of Biloxi; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Myra Jane Martin Buie

CLINTON - Funeral services for Myra Jane Martin Buie, 67, of Raymond, who died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 at her home, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lakewood Funeral Home on Clinton Boulevard.

Burial will follow in Clinton cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Buie was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Carrie H. Millikan.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Buie of Raymond; her daughters, Denise Gable of Clinton and Melanie King of Brandon; her sons, Robby Buie of Clinton and Bobby Buie of Raymond; and her grandchildren, Jana Godfrey, Molly Godfrey, Dustin Brantley, Dylan Brantley, Rob Buie and Brittany Buie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sta-Home Hospice, 406 Briarwood Drive, Suite 500, Jackson, MS 39206.

Homer Mayberry Sr.

Oct. 22, 1934 - Dec. 28, 2003

NATCHEZ - Services for Homer Mayberry Sr., 69, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion with the Rev. Hinds officiating.

The procession will leave 10:30 a.m. Saturday from 213 Watts Ave.

Burial will follow in Leesdale cemetery under the direction of West Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Mayberry was born icon Oct. 22, 1934, in Natchez, the son of Leroy L. Mayberry and May L. Mayberry.

He attended Mississippi schools and was a retired logger. He was a member of Mount Zion.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Dorohthy Mayberry; Roger Kelly, Carolyn Davids, Renie Guillory Childering; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; six brothers, Gerome Wells, Johnnie L. Mayerry and his wife, Idell, Rayford Mayberry and his wife, Shirley, and Daniel Mayberry and his wife, Helen, all of Natchez, Oscal Mayberry and his wife, Edna, both of Atlanta, and David Mayberry of Stockton, Calif.; and three sisters, Betty Washington and Annie R. Mayberry, both of Natchez, and Pauline Ford and her husband, Johnnie, both of Stockton, Calif.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Houston Terril Smitherman

NATCHEZ - Services for Houston Terril Smitherman, 84, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home with the Rev. Dayna Goff officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Alma Alyce Douglas

NATCHEZ - Services for Alma Alyce Douglas, 85, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at her residence, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home with the Rev. Curt Wilson officiating.

Burial will follow in Providence United Methodist Church cemetery in the Buckatunna community.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Priscilla Biron

NATCHEZ - A memorial service for Priscilla Biron, 68, of Lake Concordia, La., who died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Laird Funeral Home.

Clara McMorris

WOODVILLE - Services for Clara McMorris, 61, who died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Missisippi Medical Center in Jackson, will be at noon Saturday at First Pentecostal Church of Woodville with Brother William Mealey officiating.

Burial will be in St. Luke No. 1 Baptist Church cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Survivors include husband, David McMorris; one son, Damon McMorris Sr. and wife Felese; three daughters, Stacey Rogers and husband Wayne, Jacqueline McMorris and Angelia Lanus and husband Curtis.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Percy Perry Sr.

Jan. 27, 1937 - Dec. 28, 2003

NATCHEZ - Services for Percy "Mutt" Perry, Sr., 66, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Delta Regional Burn Center in Greenville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forrest Aide Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.

Burial will be in Carthage cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Perry was born icon Jan. 27, 1937, the son of Willie Perry, Sr. and Hannah Lyons Perry of Natchez.

He was educated in the Natchez Adams Public School System and was employed with McDaniel Logging for 27 years upon his death.

Mr. Perry was preceded in death by his loving parents; one son, Johnny Lee Perry; and two brothers, Willie "Sterling" Perry and James Perry.

Survivors include his loving wife, Eddie Ray Perry; two sons, Percy Perry, Jr. and Donald Perry of Natchez; two daughters, Brenda (Ronnie) Riley of Natchez and Joanne (Charles) Harris of Fayette; three sisters, Andrea Bacon, Virginia Perry and Gwendolyn Perry, all of Natchez; 14 grandchildren; one aunt, Hattie Williams of Natchez; six sisters-in-law, Lucy Perry, Greta McCoy and Regina McCoy, all of Natchez, Ella McCoy of Saginaw, Mich., Emily Mitchell and Willie (Clyde) Brady of Houston, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Walter (Katie) McCoy and Samuel (Yvette) McCoy, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; one god sister, Maple Ruth King of Natchez; one godson, Willie Lee "Smoot" Jones of Kingston; special cousin, Betty Phipps of Natchez; and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Ford McCall

July 3, 1906 - Dec. 30, 2003

WASHINGTON - Services for Ford McCall, 97, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Washington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Diane Woodall officiating.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 2 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mr. McCall was born icon July 3, 1906, in McCall Creek, the son of Horace Eugene and Issaphene Cowart McCall.

He was a member of Washington United Methodist Church.

Mr. McCall was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie W. McCall; sisters, Audrey Seale and Lou Newman; and a brother, Felon McCall.

Survivors include son, John Ford McCall of Natchez; daughters, Edra Carole Daniels and Peggy Nell McCall of Natchez and Mildred Lee Wheeler of Jackson, LA; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Beatryce McCall of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be Michael Wheeler, Lee Thomas, Randy Chapin, Donald Jones, Joe Garrity and Joe Reynolds.

Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Gibson, Dr. Lee England, Harold Woodall, Robert Anderson and Gene Seale.

Jewell Dean Bullock

Sept. 5, 1921 - Dec. 29, 2003

NATCHEZ - Services for Jewell Dean Bullock, 82, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Curt Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bullock was born icon Sept. 5, 1921, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Horton and Pearl Crane Oliver.

She was a member of Cranfield Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bullock was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley H. Bullock; daughter, Yvonne Bullock; son, Bill H. Bullock; and grandson, Billy H. Bullock, Jr.

Survivors include one daughter, Glinda F. Davis of Natchez; one son, Jean Bullock of Milledgeville, GA; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Marie Rusin and Vera Pearl Crane, both of Laurel; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mabel Conger Raworth

Jan. 5, 1925 - Dec. 30, 2003

NATCHEZ - Services for Mabel Conger Raworth, 78, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church with The Rev. Zabron A. Davis, III officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Raworth was born icon Jan. 5, 1925, in Ardsley-on-Hudson, NY, the daughter of Kenyon Bronson and Mabel Bouden Conger.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club and the Garter Girls. She was a graduate of Dobbs Master School of Dobbs Ferry, NY.

Mrs. Raworth was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm D. Raworth, JR. and son, Malcolm D. Raworth, III.

Survivors include three daughters, Mabel R. Tippens of Shreveport, LA, Roberta G. Raworth of New Orleans, LA and Carla R. Gore and husband, Sammy of Natchez; grandchildren, Malcolm D. Raworth IV and wife, Rouxanne of Long Beach, Adrian L. Tippens and wife, Amy of Memphis, TN, Jessica D. Tippens of New Orleans, Barbara B. Tippens of Jackson, Ella G. Scarbrough and Ann Scarbrough of Natchez; great-grandchildren, Abby Raworth, Bronson Raworth of Long Beach; sister, Anne C. Burnham and husband, Dwight of Pittsford, NY.

Pallbearers will be Leslie Carpenter, John Mott Coffey, W. Howard Pritchartt, III, Lee Jones, Buck Flinn, Steven Funderburg and Michael Brann.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Day School or Natchez Humane Society.
