June 26, 1918 - March 22, 2004

STANTON -- Services for Annie F. Freeman, 85, who died Friday, March 19 at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Stanton Baptist Church in Stanton with Rev. Steve Purvis officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel cemetery in Hamburg under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home on Union Street and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday.

Mrs. Freeman was born icon on June 26, 1918 in Amite County, the daughter of Albert Oliver Forman and Eunice Stokes Forman.

She was a charter member of Stanton Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for years.

Mrs. Freeman was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Ruff" Freeman; a daughter, Peggy Freeman; four brothers and three sisters including a twin sister.

Survivors include one son, Buddy Freeman and wife Colleen of Vicksburg; a daughter, Norma J. Cocilova and her husband Nick of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Ronald Cocilova and Jason Freeman of Vicksburg and Heather Turman of Jackson; one great granddaughter, Megan Cocilova of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Doyle Forman of Pasadena, Texas and Jamie Forman of Ashville, N.C.; two sisters, Dell Runyon of Marion, Ky., and Kathleen "Sis" Nolen of Poplarville.

Harry Howard Jr.

Dec. 15, 1942 - March 10, 2004

STANTON - Services for Harry Howard Jr., 62, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Smithland Baptist Church in Stanton.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the church.

Lyle Keith Richardson

Funeral arrangements for Lyle Keith Richardson, who died Friday, March 19, 2004, in Pineville, LA, are incomplete at Comer Funeral Home.

Albert James McGhee

June 24, 1969 - March 13, 2004

GLOSTER - Services for Albert James McGhee, 34, of Gloster, who died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Maison Orleans Nursing Home, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gloster First Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Veals officiating.

Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. McGhee was born icon June 24, 1969, the son of Joyce McGhee and David L. Chapman.

Clarence William Knight

Aug. 15, 1931 - March 14, 2004

CANNONSBURG - Services for Clarence William Knight, 72, of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at his residence, will be at noon Saturday at St. James A.M.E. Church in Cannonsburg with the Rev. Anthony Colenburg officiating.

Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Natchez National cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Knight was born icon Aug. 15, 1931, in Adams County, the son of Consevella and Henry Knight.

He was retired as a logger from Harvey Beach and Sons after 30 years of service and was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Katherine Jones of Fayette, Luvenia (Willie) Griffin of Huntsville, AL, Hazel Jones of Nashville, TN, Gayle (James) Gamble and Odessia (Theodore) Gooden, both of Natchez; three sons, Kenny Ray (Vernita) Jones of Huntsville, AL, Clarence William Jones and Henry Lee Jones, both of Natchez; one sister, Julia Knight-Jones of Natchez; one brother, King Estus Knight of Natchez; one play daughter, Lorna Davis of Fayette; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends of the family, Janette Ware of Natchez and Betty Cureton of Columbus; and daughter-in-law, Ethel Gordon Jones of Lorman.

Pallbearers will be Charles Gooseberry, Johnny Jones, Elijah Brown, John Davis, Carl Jackson, Larry White and Jessie Turner.

Clifton Ross

Feb. 20, 1964 - March 16, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Clifton Ross, 40, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Aide Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.

Burial will be in Skinner cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Ross was born icon Feb. 20, 1964, in Adams County, the son of Dorothy Ross.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Ross of Natchez; one step-daughter, Elinda Coleman of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Marilyn Ross Bates of Natchez and Janice Ross of Irving, TX; four brothers, Ronnie Ross and Arthur Ross of Natchez, Vincent Ross of Irving, TX and Glen Watkins Ross of Flowers; two aunts, Ruby Washington and Juanita Harris of Natchez; one brother-in-law, Dennis (Lisa) Coleman of Irving, TX; one grandfather, Willie Ross of Natchez; five nieces, nine nephews, one step-grandson and one great-niece; and a number of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Doris White

Oct. 25, 1909 - March 17, 2004

WOODVILLE - Funeral mass for Doris White, 94, of Woodville, who died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Field Memorial Community Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Woodville.

Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. White was born icon Oct. 25, 1909, in Wilkinson County, the daughter of Joseph Anthony Escher and Katherine Escher.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Woodville.

Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Lee White; her second husband, Sidney White; one son, Joseph Edward White; two brothers, Herman Escher and Robert Escher.

Survivors include two daughters, Grace Stutzman of Woodville and Dorothy Jean Howard and H.L. Howard of St. Simons, GA; companion, Bernadine McMorris; daughter-in-law, Jackie White of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Sue Floyd, Dorothy Williams, Lester Howard, Lee White II, Joseph White, David White, Elizabeth White and Delilah White; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons; two sisters, Marie Chapman and Lillian Bailey of Woodville; three brothers, Joseph Escher of Tupelo, Thomas Escher of Jackson, LA and August Lee Escher of Woodville.

Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Joe Floyd, Sean Floyd, Cap White, Forrest White, Jeb White, Semmes White and Jessie Howard.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Catholic Foundation of Miss. or your favorite charity.

Harry Howard Jr.

Dec. 15, 1942 - March 10, 2004

He was educated in the Jefferson County Public Schools and was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Greater St. Mark Baptist Church and the usher board.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Howard and her son, Roland Whitehead of Ferriday, LA; four daughters, Sarah Greenfield of Los Angeles, CA, Sarah Scott of New Orleans, LA, Torris Singleton of Jackson, Lisa Evans of South Carolina; three sons, Harry Howard III of New Orleans, Henry Howard of Houston, TX and Dewayne Evans of South Carolina; five sisters, Isbella Howard and Cordelia McMorris of Natchez, Jean Rankin and Jessie Lee Allen of Fayette and Emma Howard of Pasadena, CA; five brothers, Rev. Leon Howard and Rev. D.W. Howard of Natchez, Ivory Howard, Joseph Howard and Robert Howard of Los Angeles, CA; one god sister, Rosie Lee Woods of Natchez; 13 grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Allen, J.C. Allen, Willie Allen, Leon Howard Jr., Gregory Howard and D.W. Howard Jr.

Joseph C. "Joe" Bradshaw

Dec. 15, 1924 - March 17, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Joseph C. "Joe" Bradshaw, 79, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Bart Walker officiating.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bradshaw was born icon Dec. 15, 1924, in Franklin County, the son of Carl and Lenora May Bradshaw.

He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company after 43 years of service. He was a member of Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge, Harmony Masonic Lodge, Natchez Shrine Club and Natchez Chapter 75 O.E.S. He was baptized at Immanuel Baptist Church in Natchez. He was also a part-time employee of Longwood Antebellum Home.

Mr. Bradshaw was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Suzette Denise Bradshaw; a sister, Marguarett Boling; two brothers, Bobby L. Bradshaw and James R. Bradshaw.

Survivors include his wife, Della Davis Bradshaw of Natchez; son, Timothy N. Bradshaw and wife, Naomi of Collierville, TN; daughter, Melinda B. Mallett and husband, John of Montgomery, TX; grandchildren, Daniel W. Mallett and his wife, Meagen of Madison, Denise R. Mallett of Montgomery, TX and Rebekah L. Bradshaw of Collierville, TN.

Pallbearers will be members of the Natchez Masonic Bodies.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital or Knights Templer Eye Foundation.

David H. Johnson Jr.

Aug. 11, 1970 - March 15, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for David H. Johnson Jr., 33, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 15, 2004, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pearson officiating.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson was born icon Aug. 11, 1970, in Natchez, the son of David Harland Johnson Sr. and Betty Sue Bearden Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his father and maternal grandparents, Elsie and Elmer Bearden.

Survivors include his daughter, Skylar Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA; mother, Betty Pullen and husband, John of Natchez; brother, Tim A. Johnson and wife, Carolyn of Natchez; sister, Robyn Conway and husband, Jim of Vicksburg; half sister, Margaret Johnson and Dana Johnson of Nashville, TN; niece, Julia Mulder of Baton Rouge; nephews, Jim Conway III and Zachary Conway of Vicksburg.

Pallbearers will be Brady Garner, Dalton Davis, Jeff Hartley, Charlie Ferrington, Rex Pruitt and Kenneth Blackwell.

Memorials may be made to the Natchez Humane Society.

Geneva Smith

Oct. 17, 1918 - March 15, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Geneva Smith, 85, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 15, 2004, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at George F. West Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.

Burial will be in Watkins Street cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born icon Oct. 17, 1918, in Adams County, the daughter of Simon Green and Joanna Payne Green.

She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Survivors include one sister, Lillian M. Nichols; one niece, Mary C. Lee; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
