SMITHDALE --Gerald Lee McGehee, 47, of Liberty, died May 5, 2004, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson after complications from heart surgery.
Visitation is from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Hartman Funeral Home of McComb and continues at 10 a.m. Monday at Hebron Baptist Church in Smithdale until services there at 2 p.m.
The Revs. Rob Westbrook and Billy Ray Simmons will officiate. Burial will be in the church's cemetery.
Annie Mae Dotson
Oct. 31, 1909 - July 28, 2004
LORMAN - Services for Annie Mae Dotson, 94, of Lorman, who died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at he residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morning Star Baptist Church in Lorman with the Rev. Larry Clark officiating.
Burial will follow at McCaa cemetery in Russum under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Port Gibson.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Dotson was born
Oct. 31, 1909, in Jefferson County.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include one niece, Linnie Banks of Edwards; her caregiver, Earnest Patton; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Durant Glasper
Aug. 17, 1917 - Aug. 1, 2004
WOODVILLE - Services for Durant Glasper, 86, of Woodville, who died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at noon Saturday at Singleton Chapel in Woodville with the Rev. Johnnie Elery officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedar Rest #2 cemetery under the direction of Williams and Williams.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until services time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Glasper was born
Aug. 17, 1917, in Deer Park, the son of William Glasper and Eliza Miles.
He was a farmer, a member of Singleton Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Smith and Jessie Dunbar of Woodville; one son, Woodrow Lindsey of Woodville; three sisters, Dora Johnson of Woodville, Lillian Taylor of Baton Rouge, La. and Florence Johnson of Natchez; one brother, J.B. Glasper of Baton Rouge.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Augustine Thomas
Sept. 13, 1921 - Aug. 3, 2004
WASHINGTON - Services for Mrs. Augustine "Jal" Thomas, 82, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Washington with the Rev. James Beverly officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Thomas was born
Sept. 13, 1921, in Adams county, the daughter of the late Cleveland and Anna S. Thomas Sr.
She attended Washington School, and was retired from domestic work. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one daughter, Anna (Kenneth) Ware; seven sons, Bill Smith, Lee Edward (Laura) Thomas, and James E. (special friend Jewell) Thomas, all of Natchez, Wilbert Lee Smith, Kenneth Smith, and Bobby Lee Smith, all of Jackson, and Herman B. Smith of Spokane, Wash.; three granddaughters, Latrenda Smith, Kenitra Ware, and Kenneth Ware Jr., all of Natchez; three nieces, Wanda Ware, Joyce Davis, and Daisy Elmore, all of Natchez; one nephew, Willie Wright; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Dorothy Blalock Wood

LIBERTY - Services for Dorothy Gadberry Abel Blalock Wood, 89, of Liberty, who died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Liberty Community Living Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Liberty.
Burial will follow at Blalock cemetery in Liberty under the direction of Hartman Funeral Home of McComb.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Wood was born
June 5, 1915, the daughter of the late Charley and Luvenia Gadberry.
Dorothy was lovingly known as "Aunt Dot" by family. She was a wonderful cook and called the "good cooker". She was active in the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church. Dorothy was talented with flowers and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harvey Blalock and Memnon Wood; and three sons, Robert C. Abel, Merlin Abel, and Billy (Doris) Abel.
Survivors include Thomas and Minja Blalock; Tim and Paula Blalock; Talmadge and Debra Blalock; Janet rich; Shirley Payne; daughter-in-laws, Edna and Barbara Abel; 29 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Leontine Smoot Knowles

NATCHEZ - Services for Leontine Smoot Knowles, 74, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin White officiating.
Burial will be in the Natchez National cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel & Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation is from noon until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Knowles was born
Jan. 21, 1930, in Natchez, the daughter of Charlie Smoot and the late Olivia Walker Smoot.
She attended Adams County Public Schools, Alcorn State University, and University of Southern Miss. She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church and served as a Mother. She was also a member of the National Council of Negro Women, Democratic Women's Association, Alcorn Alumni, Mississippi Retired Teachers Association, Zeta Phi Beta, Eastern Star, Queen Esther Chapter and she was a Notary Public.
Survivors include her husband James Knowles; three children, Gregory Green of New Orleans, La., Olivia (Warren) Johnson of Memphis, Tenn., Michael McKnight of New Orleans, La.; two sisters, Camille Smoot and Alice Smoot, both of Natchez; two brothers, Charles (Rosa) Smoot of Natchez, and Joseph Smoot of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren, Paula Green of Irvin, Texas, Camilla Johnson, Warren Johnson, Ernest Johnson, all of Memphis, Tenn., and Tyson McKnight of New Orleans, La.; one great grandson, Shederick Green of Irvin, Texas; one aunt, Ella Dee Ellis of Natchez, one daughter-in-law, Ella D. Lyles, sister-in-law, Alfreda K. Brown; and brother-in-law, all of Natchez.

Mr. Wilson was born
Feb. 17, 1932, in Hermanville, the son of Earl Wilson and Marie Crowder Wilson.
He was disabled and a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two sons, Kerry (Valerie) Jones of Sontag and Jamie Jones of Port Gibson; two brothers, Walter (Rose) Wilson of Los Angeles, Calif. and Richard (Shirley) Wilson of Port Gibson; two sisters, Earlene Bridges and Beulah (Richardson) Derby of Port Gibson; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be James Guy, Herman Guy, George Young, Walter P. Wilson, Richard F. Wilson, Charlie Brooks, Bennie Ward, Charles Rayford Sr. and Bryant Eggleston.

SELMA - Services for St. Elmo "Billy" Douglas Sr., 63, who died Friday, July 30, 2004, in Memphis, Tenn., will be Saturday at St. Mary M.B. Church in Selma.
Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of E.H. Ford Mortuary, Memphis.

Fred "Jack" Brown

NATCHEZ - Services for Fred "Jack" Brown, 86, of Vidalia, La., who died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at Veterans Hospital in Pineville, La., will be at 11 a.m. today at Mackel's Chapel with the Rev. Douglas Logan officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National cemetery under the direction of R.D. Mackel and Sons.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was born
Dec. 12, 1917, in Concordia Parish, La., the son of James Brown and Mary Hilly Brown.
He was a self-employed radio/TV repairman. He was a Baptist and served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a son, Fred "Jackie" Brown.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn B. Johnson of Vidalia, a son, Clarence J. Brown (Sandra) of Pine Bluff, Ark.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Leotha Williams and her family; a daughter-in-law, Rebecca M. Brown of Ferriday, La.
Pallbearers will be Joe Mays, Cedric Moore, Tyrell Fife, Clifford Payne, Jamal McCullen and Fredrick Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be Willie January, Edward Curtis, Melvin Cooper and Soloman Smothers.
Leonard Barber Stockett Jr.
May 30, 1927 - Aug. 3, 2004
WOODVILLE - Services for Leonard Barber Stockett Jr., 77, of Woodville, who died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Our Lady of Lake in Baton Rouge, La., will be at 10 a.m. today at Woodville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Warren Whitaker, the Rev. Eugene Case and the Rev. Bill Whitwer officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 8:30 a.m. until service time today at the church.
He was a native of Woodville and was a cattleman and farmer. He was a lifelong member and an elder in the Woodville Presbyterian Church, a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and a long-time member of Tansy Island Hunting Club.
Mr. Stockett was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard B. Stockett Sr. and Eva Boatner Stockett.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married
June 19, 1948, Mildred White Stockett of Woodville; one son, Lester Stockett of Woodville; one sister, Margaret Stockett Falkenheiner of Woodville; one granddaughter, Rebecca Stockett of Woodville.
