NATCHEZ - Services for David Gill Jr., 58, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 29, 2004, at his residence, will be at 3 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Father David O'Connor officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.

Mr. Gill was born icon March 30, 1946, in Natchez, the son of Quincy David Gill Sr. and the late Estelle Marie Gamberi Gill.

He is preceded in death by his mother and one son, David Jade Gill.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Crump Gill of Natchez; three sons, Sean (Nikki) Newman of Jackson, Lance Gill of Pensacola, Fla., and Daxton (Stephanie) Gill of Atlanta, Ga.; one step-son, Charles Hodges of Natchez; grandchildren, Madelyn Newman of Jackson; Ansley Gill of Atlanta; three step-grandchildren, Amanda Hodges of Natchez, Laura Hodges of Natchez, and Kaitlyn Hodges of Denham Springs, La.; one sister, Vivian (Douglas) Aarons of Vidalia; two brothers, Michael (Ilene) Gill and Raymond (Sherry) Gill, both of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Larry Gamberi, Freddie Gamberi, Ronnie Gamberi, Joe Gamberi Jr., Johnny Gamberi, Frank Gamberi, and Charles Gamberi.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Matt Chiasson, Douglas Aarons, Chris Gill, B.J. Gill, and Dan Harper Jr.

Funeral arrangements for Jimmie Jones of Kingston, who died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at his residence, are incomplete at Webb Funeral System.

Mary M. Jones

July 30, 1923 - July 27, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Mary M. Jones, 80, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, in Natchez, will be at 1 p.m. today at McNeely Road Church of God with Bishop L. Paul Hays officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Ms. Jones was born icon July 30, 1923, in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late William and Maggie Ramsey. She was a faithful member of McNeely Road Church of God and a dedicated musician. She worked at Blue Bell and Sears, as well as a CNA at Glenburney and Adams County Nursing Homes.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Annie Mae Hill; three brothers, Charlie Jones, Ellzy Jones, and Clyde Jones Sr.

Survivors include one sister-in-law, Mildred Jones of Natchez, and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Wayne Hill, Bob Hill, Edward Jones, John Smith, and Clyde Jones Jr.

Georgia Rice Myles

Funeral arrangements for Georgia Rice "Pudding" Myles, 82, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, are incomplete at George F. West Funeral Home.

Margerre Brown

Funeral services for Margerre Brown, 51, of Fayette, who died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Jefferson County Hospital, are incomplete at Rollins Funeral Homes, Inc.

Bernice Frisby

Aug. 17, 1931 - July 22, 2004

CANNONSBURG - Services for Bernice Frisby, 72, of Cannonsburg, who died Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethleham Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Elery officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

The procession will leave at 10:45 a.m. Thursday from 1976 Cannonsburg Road, Cannonsburg.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Frisby was born icon Aug. 17, 1931, in Stanton, the daughter of Mose and Annie Thomas.

She was a retired Justice Court Judge for Jefferson County and was a Baptist.

Mrs. Frisby was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Noble "Bilbo" Frisby; siblings, Andrew (Ethel) Thomas, Betty (Joe) Murphy and Victor Thomas; children, Earlene (Willie) Singleton, Adrian Frisby, Gail Frisby, Alvin (Amelia) Frisby, Sandra (Ray) Frisby and Fredrick Frisby, all of Natchez and Jimmy (Johnnie) Frisby of Atlanta, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Frisby Jr., Ray Graves Jr., Christopher Cornish, Ronald West, Jaricos Frisby and Justin Graves.

David Gill Jr.

NATCHEZ - Services for David Gill Jr., 58, of Natchez, who died Monday, July 26, 2004, at his residence, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. with Rosary service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Katrina L. Woods

Feb. 7, 1978 - July 26, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Katrina L. Woods, 26, of Natchez, who died Monday, July 26, 2004, at her residence, will be at noon Thursday at Webb Funeral System Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Quinn officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Paul AME Church cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral System.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Woods was born icon Feb. 7, 1978, in Natchez, the daughter of Myrtle Woods and Luther and Lillie Winston.

She was educated in the Natchez Public Schools.

Ms. Woods was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle L. Woods; one sister, Tierney Woods; two grandfathers, Leonard Woods Sr. and Luther Winston Sr.; one cousin, Demond Woods.

Survivors include one child, Teriyonna Woods; parents, Luther and Lillie Winston; three sisters, NeFela K. (Everett) Woods, Kenethia (Quincey) Woods and Jordan D. Winston; one brother, Anthony Green; two grandmothers, Betty L. Woods and Mrs. Clyde Winston; four nieces, three nephews, six uncles and nine aunts; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Will McRaney

May 12, 1928 - July 24, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Will McRaney, 76, of Natchez, who died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Will McRaney Jr. officiating.

Burial and graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Lone Star cemetery in Covington County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. McRaney was born icon May 12, 1928, in Covington County, the son of Alfred Talmadge and Grace Campbell McRaney.

He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Mr. McRaney taught and coached for 30 years in Florida and MS Public Schools. He owned and operated McRaney Realty in Natchez for 20 years.

Survivors include his mother, Grace McRaney of Lone Star; sons, Will McRaney Jr. of Mandeville, La., Chris McRaney of Atlanta, Ga. and Hal McRaney of Kiln; daughters, Debbie Graves of Hattiesburg and Vickie Warner of Little Rock, Ark.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ottis Leroy Cothren

Sept. 12, 1912 - July 25, 2004

FRANKLIN COUNTY - Services for Ottis Leroy Cothren, 91, of Franklin County, who died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. today at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Ammel Grey Guin

NATCHEZ - Services for Ammel Grey Guin, 80, who died Thursday, July 22, 2004, in Franklinton, La., will be at 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Dr. Edgar Wright officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Guin was born icon Oct. 17, 1923, the daughter of Marion House and Ruthie Mae Draper. She was a member of Eastern Star, Auburn Garden Club, Homemakers Club, Good Sam's Club, Airstream Camping Club and Morgantown Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.W. Guin; son, Donald W. Guin; and a brother, Coylee House.

Survivors include two children, Yvonne Stewart and husband Jerry of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Lydia Creel and husband Frank of Franklinton; grandchildren William Derrick Guin of Jackson, Donna Jean Guin Clark and husband Nathan of Jackson, Rachel Cathleen Stewart of Chattanooga and Brianna Temple Creel of Franklinton; and a great-grandson, Alex Guin of Biloxi.

Pallbearers will be Herman Eldridge, D.H. Carter, F.W. Causey Jr., Rayford Smith, Johnny Ratcliff and Eddie Forbess.

Dr. James W. Crumpton

May 17, 1918 - July 22, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Dr. James W. "Brother James" Crumpton, 86, of Dallas, Texas and Natchez, who died Thursday, July 22, 2004, in Dallas, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Maranatha Haven in Natchez.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Maranatha Haven.

Dr. Crumpton was born icon May 17, 1918, in Pelzer, S.C., the son of James Talmadge and Lydie Boyce Crumpton.

He was saved in Jesus Christ at age 17. He received degrees from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., Baptist Bible Institute in New Orleans, La., as well as, an honorary doctorrate degree from Garland Bible College in Garland, Texas. In 1941, he became pastor of West Side Baptist Church in Natchez, where he was a gifted evangelist for over 57 years. Dr. Crumpton produced the "Radio Revival Hour" for 22 years. In 1961, along with Dr. and Mrs. Mel Rutter, he established the Maranatha Baptist Mission where he served as president until his retirement due to failing health. He was a personal soul winner, asking those he met "Are you a Christian?"

Dr. Crumpton is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jennie Crumpton of Dallas; son, James W. Crumpton Jr. of Emmett, Idaho; daughters, Eulaila Fletcher of Phenix City, Ala., Jean Fuller of Greenwood, S.C., Jennie Lynn Godwin of Wills Point, Texas and Dottie Lindsey of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Clara Willard of Etta and Sue Dallalio of West Monroe, La.; brother, Walter Marion Crumpton of Mauldin, S.C.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, grand and great-grand nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Maranatha Baptist Mission.

Letha Stampley Doss

STAMPLEY - Services for Letha Stampley Doss, 68, of Stampley, who died Friday, July 23, 2004, at her residence, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Baptist Church in Stampley with the Rev. John Fry officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

COOKSON, Okla. - Memorial services for James Fredrick Bunch, 70, of Greenville, who died on Saturday, July 24, 2004, in Tahlequah, Okla., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday July 28, 2004 at Hart Funeral Home Chapel in Tahlequah with Mark Keeley officiating.
