EDDICETON - Services for Trampas Richardson, 18, of Eddiceton, who died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, in Adams County, will be 11 a.m. today at Eddiceton Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Eddiceton cemetery under the direction of Community Funeral Services of Brookhaven.

Mr. Richardson was born icon Jan. 12, 1986, in Adams County, the son of Jackie Richardson of Natchez and Lydia Marcum of Eddiceton.

He was a student at Co-Lin Natchez Campus.

Survivors include his parents; brother, Ronald Wayne Marcum of Eddiceton; sister, Kimberly Browning of Pascagoula; grandmother, Velma Richardson of Natchez; and a host of family and friends.

Verlinda Ann Banks

SYLMAR, Calif. - Funeral services for Verlinda Ann Banks, 38, of Sylmar, Calif., who died Thursday, Sept. 16, in Sylmar, Calif., are incomplete at Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, La.

Willie Lee Smith

Sept. 8, 1949 - Sept. 17, 2004

HERMANVILLE - Services for Willie Lee Smith, 55, of Hermanville, who died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Mountro Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Horace McBride officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Fayette.

Visitation is from noon until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born icon Sept. 8, 1949, in Utica, the son of the late Ervin Smith Sr. and Johnnie Ruth White.

He was a farmer and a member of Mountro Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Mac Arthur Smith and Johnny Andrew Smith; and sister, Ethel Lee Dixon.

Survivors include a daughter, Schevelle L. Micken of Detroit, Mich.; five brothers, John Wesley White, George Smith, both of Hermanville, Donald Smith of Port Gibson, John Henry White of Detroit, Mich., and Ervin Smith of Bellchase, La.; two sisters, Erline Bradly of Marrero, La. and Pattye Smith of Hermanville; four uncles, Johnny White of Hermanville, Charlie White and Alonzo White, both of Houston, Texas, and Cleo White of Detroit, Mich.; three aunts, Alice Walker, Myrtle Walter, and Willie Anna Burrell, all of Hermanville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Russell C. McDonald

Mar. 24, 1962 - Sept. 19, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Russell C. McDonald, 42, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004 at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.

Burial will be in the Natchez National cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. McDonald was born icon Mar. 24, 1962, in Shackelford County, Texas, the son of Twana June Kent McDonald and the late Tommy Luke McDonald.

He was preceded in death by his father and wife, Tami Seyfarth McDonald.

Survivors include three sons, Joshua McDonald of Natchez, Justin McDonald and Brian McDonald, both of Moss Point; mother, Twana McDonald of Longmont, Colo.; sister, Beth McDonald of Longmont, Colo.; brother, Ricky (Wanda) McDonald of Mendenhall; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be David Martin, Sonny Smith, Paul Smith, Amos "Moose" Greer Jr., Paul Brown, and Wiley Cavin.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Barnes, Lee Mason, M. J. "Rocky" Calcote and many friends.

Lawrence (Larry) Alan Hite

VICKSBURG - Services for Lawrence (Larry) Alan Hite, 47, of Vicksburg, formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004 at his residence, will be 2 p.m. today at Bovina Baptist Church with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating.

Burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Hite was a 1975 graduate of Warren Central High School and received a BS degree in Geology from the University of Southern Miss. in 1980. He was a self-employed Geologist in Natchez and Vicksburg. While in Natchez he coached Little League Baseball.

He was a member of Bovina Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his father, John E. Hite Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene K. Hite of Vicksburg; two sons, Christopher Alan Hite of Vicksburg and Daryl Wayne Hite of Natchez; stepdaughter, Brandi Lynd Corbin of Vicksburg; stepson, Thomas A. Corbin Jr. of Vicksburg; mother, Margaret Byrant Hite of Vicksburg; sister, Deborah Hubal of Ocean Springs; two brothers, John E. Hite Jr. of Vicksburg and Richard R. Hite of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Thomas E. Murphy Jr., Ricky Mitchell, Bruce Black, Clark Nerren, Frank Davis, Jay Stewart, Courtney Aldridge, and Mark Preston.

Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Central Baseball Teams and Coaches 1999-2003 and their families, Whitney Doiron ANP/GHP, and Dale Barnes, RN.

Memorials may be made to favorite charities.

Aubrey Joseph Webb

May 3, 1911 - Sept. 17, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Aubrey Joseph Webb, 93, of Natchez, who died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, will be noon Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Joseph McKinley S.S.J. officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Webb was born icon May 3, 1911, in Natchez, the youngest son of the late Claude and Bessie Webb. He attended St. Francis Elementary and High School, staffed by the Sisters of the Holy Ghosts with whom he remained friends throughout the rest of his life. Although he lived in St. Louis, Mo. and Baton Rouge, La. for a time, he happily moved back to Natchez and married icon Irene Stevens and they had two children. Aubrey became a brick mason but soon entered the funeral business and became the proud owner of Webb Funeral System. There he remained "the boss" for over 50 years until his death.

He has been a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church for all of his 93 years. He attended Mass faithfully, even though it meant he had to climb two steep flights of stairs. He was a member of the Knights of Peter Claver for 64 years and a member of the NAACP.

Aubrey Webb became well known in Natchez for his big heart, loyal spirit, and willingness to help others in the community. On Thanksgiving Day, he would purchase and deliver turkeys to the sick and the shut-ins. There were many recipients of his Christmas fruitcakes and boxes of Russell Stover candies. He supported many causes and donated generously to churches and many charitable organizations. In 2001, he was recognized as an "Unsung Hero."

He prided himself on his great memory. He never forgot a name or a face. At first sight, he could always connect a person to a family, friend or a relative. His memory was so incredible that he could remember every person he had buried, and the location of his or her grave in the cemetery spanning 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene; his parents; his two brothers, Claude Webb of Natchez and Cassius Webb of Lansing, Mich.; and one sister, Naomi Trotter of Chicago, Ill.

Survivors include his two daughters, Sue (Verdun) Arnaud of Los Angeles, Calif. and Beverly (Al) Gourrier of Las Vegas, Nev.; ten grandchildren, Angelique Arnaud Ramirez, Troy Gourrier, Solange Arnaud Haaland, Lisa Gourrier Williams, Helene Arnaud Sorensen, Al Gourrier Sr., Kih Gourrier Sr., Ricky Gourrier, Kim Gourrier, and Tia Gourrier; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and many, many friends.

Pallbearers will be Al Gourrier Sr., Kih Gourrier Sr., Bryan Sorensen, Ernest Trotter, Duncan Morgan, Ricky Gourrier, Troy Gourrier, and Rodman Ramirez.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Holy Family Catholic School.

Cortez L. Dixon Sr.

Feb. 8, 1926 - Sept. 10, 2004

CHICAGO, Ill. - Mass of Resurrection for Cortez Lemuel "BR" Dixon Sr. was held at 11 a.m. Thurday, Sept. 16, 2004 at St. Benedict The African West Catholic Church with Father Dan Mallette officiating. Burial followed at Abraham Lincoln National cemetery under the direction of A.A. Rayner & Sons.

Mr. Dixon was born icon to the late Cornelius and Charlotte Payne Dixon.

He served in the Navy in World War II, worked for Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) for twenty one years, and Nehi-Royal Crown Cola for twenty years.

He joined the Roman Catholic Church at an early age and was a very active member until his death. He was president of the Parish Council for St. Benedict the African West and a reader of the Liturgy of the Word. He was a charter member of the Knights of Peter Claver Council #146 and served as Grandknight many years. He also served his community as president of 1200 West 71st Place Block Club as well as having been coach for basketball teams in the CYO League.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy R. Thornburg; and brother, Leandro Dixon Sr.

Survivors include his loving wife, Estelle Stewart Dixon; children Cortez Jr. (Cathy), Brenda (Sydney) Hatcher, Ricardo (Cheryl), and Dion (Karen); sister, Mary Ida (Kenneth) Stanton; aunt, Rebecca Cain of Ga., eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends who he enjoyed dearly.

Carrie Mae Tenner

NATCHEZ - Funeral services for Carrie Mae Tenner, 49, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004 at her residence, are incomplete at Spencer Funeral Home of Fayette.

Kenneth Carnell Harmon

MADISON - Services for Kenneth Carnell Harmon, 57, of Jackson, who died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004 at University of Miss. Medical Center in Jackson after battling cancer for many years, will be 6:30 p.m. today at the Chancellor Funeral Home Chapel of Florence.

Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville, Ga. under the direction of Chancellor Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Harmon was born icon in Memphis, Tenn. and raised in Corinth, he had lived in Rossville, Ga. for 15 years before moving to the Jackson area, where he remained for the past 26 years. He had been a softball coach and player for many years and was rewarded as coach of the year more than once.

He was a member of Westhaven Church of God, his special church family, for 26 years where he taught Sunday School.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Denise Harmon; his brothers, Mose Harmon Jr. and Wallace Harmon; and his sisters, Nancy Harmon and Gale Guill.

Survivors include, his wife of 25 years, Darlene Hootsell Harmon; son, Kenneth Douglas Harmon; daughter, Shelli Harmon Milling; spiritual daughter, Shannon Miley Robbins and her children; seven brothers, Robert Harmon, Terry Harmon, Tommy Harmon, Jackie Harmon, Ray Harmon, Gary Harmon, and Jerry Harmon; four sisters, Dorothy Mangum, Ann Nunnaly, Betty Jones, and Doris Kissner; four grandchildren, Ken Harmon, Blake Harmon, Trevor Milling, and Brayden Milling; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

During his battle with cancer he had a tremendous amount of support from friends and family to which he and Darlene will be eternally grateful. Special thanks and appreciation go to the Spann School family, Jackson Public Schools, Administration and Principals. The entire family sends this special thank you.

Memorials may be made to Westhaven Church of God for Missions, 5010 South Drive, Jackson, Miss. 39209.

Sidney Gibson Sr.

Mar. 24, 1925 - Sept. 18, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Sidney Gibson Sr., 79, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be noon Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father McKinney officiating.

Burial will be in the National cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Bude.

Visitation is at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Mr. Gibson was born icon Mar. 24, 1925, in Clayton, La., the son of the late Mike and Emma Gibson.

He was security for Copiah Lincoln Community College Natchez Campus and a laborer at International Paper Company.

He served in the U. S. Army and was a member of Holy Family Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Dorothy Gibson.

Survivors include, one son, Sidney Gibson Jr.; two daughters, Jacquelyn V. Wallace and Billie Jones; two sisters, Billie Gorden and Irene Scott; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
