OCEAN SPRINGS - Services for Dewey M. Metts Jr., 83, of Natchez, formerly of Ocean Springs, who died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be Saturday at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.

Burial will follow under the direction of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home of Ocean Springs.

Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Golden McCaa

Feb. 4, 1941 - Jan. 4, 2005

TEXARKANA, Ark. - Memorial services for Elizabeth Ann "Libby" Golden McCaa, 63, of Texarkana, Ark., who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at her home, will be held at the Family Home at a later date.

Libby was born icon Feb. 4, 1941, in Texarkana, Ark., the daughter of the late Waymond "Bill" Golden and Angeline Marie Wharton. She had lived back in Texarkana for the past four years having moved from Natchez. She was an employee of Superior Senior Care and was a Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two brothers, Terry Golden of Chandler, Texas and Walter Wharton of Texarkana, Ark.; five sisters, Susan Mayberry of Millsap, Texas, Carla Benefield of Weatherford, Texas, and Judy Zorn, Debbie Baker, and Cindy Marion, all of Texarkana, Ark.; and a number of nieces, nephews, and special friends in Natchez.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the local Humane Society.

James H. "Rust" Jackson

FAYETTE - Services for James H. "Rust" Jackson, 59, of Fayette, who died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at the Jefferson County Hospital, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mariah Baptist Church with the Rev. John Frye officiating.

Burial will be in the Hollywood Baptist Church cemetery in Fayette under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home of Fayette.

Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Kyong Im Lee

VICKSBURG - Services for Kyong Im Lee, 71, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at her residence, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel in Vicksburg with Rev. Sungho Jo and Rev. Geoffrey Joyner officiating.

Burial will be in the Green Acres Memorial Park under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lee moved to Vicksburg from South Korea in 1970, where she and her husband opened Lee's Children's Store in Vicksburg. She has been a resident of Natchez since 1973 where they owned the Wig Center.

Survivors include her husband, Holim Lee of Natchez; son, Kyetlan Lee of New Orleans; two daughters, Miron Salvador of Houston, Texas and MiHyang Faulks of Vicksburg; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be the Korean-American Church.

Raymond Sturdivant

July 4, 1930-Jan. 5, 2005

NATCHEZ - Services for Raymond Sturdivant, 74, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Bernard Waites officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez City cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Sturdivant was born icon July 4, 1930, in Natchez, the son of the late Will and Nina Hazlip Sturdivant. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He retired as a supervisor from Armstrong Rubber Company after 38 years. He was a U. S. Navy veteran during the Korean conflict and served aboard the U. S. S. Randolph. Mr. Sturdivant was a member of the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He coached Dixie Youth Baseball for many years and was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society relay for life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Barbara Jean Hoover Sturdivant; and a sister, Thelma Sturdivant Johnson.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Joan Sturdivant David and husband, Jerry, and Sharon Patrick Sturdivant, all of Natchez; two sons, Raymond Sturdivant Jr. and wife, Rebecca, of Baton Rouge, La., and William Terry "Chip" Sturdivant of Natchez; grandchildren, Andrew Joseph David, Joanna Leigh David, Mary Rebecca Sturdivant, Sarah Catherine Sturdivant, and Margaret Rose Sturdivant; two sisters, Dorothy Sturdivant Thompson of Natchez and Betty Sturdivant Howard of Crosby; two brothers, Maxwell Sturdivant of Natchez and William Sturdivant of Brookhaven; and a number of other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Cavin, Don Cavin, James Johnson, Chris Sturdivant, Dean Howard, William Howard, Jack Marlin Fraser, Joel Fraser, and Kim Fraser.

Earlene Claxton

FAYETTE - Services for Earlene Claxton, 46, of Fayette, who died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at her residence, will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Green Leaf Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony Berry officiating.

Burial will be in the St. John Baptist Church cemetery in Pattison under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home of Fayette.

Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Zurlee Cain Brown

Nov. 7, 1910-Jan. 3, 2005

NATCHEZ - Services for Zurlee Cain Brown, 94, of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at King Solomon Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Schiele officiating.

Burial will be in the Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Brown was born icon Nov. 7, 1910, in Sunflower County, the daughter of the late Levi and Mariah Cain.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Pearlina Barnes, Irene Lyles, and Ollie Ramsey.

Survivors include a sister, Essie Tillery of Natchez; daughter, Lillie Mae Foster and husband, Leroy, of Natchez; grandson, Forea Ford and wife, Audrey, of Clinton; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

Raymond Sturdivant Sr.

James Larry "Jamie" Webb Jr.

Sept. 25, 1964 - Jan. 4, 2005

MEADVILLE - Services for James Larry "Jamie" Webb Jr., 40, of Meadville, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at University Medical Center in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in the Midway cemetery in Meadville under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

William "Bill" Allen Jr.

VICKSBURG - Services for William "Bill" Allen Jr., 56, of Vicksburg, who died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at his residence, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with Rev. Kuhrman Cox officiating.

Burial will be in the McNair cemetery in McNair under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home of Vicksburg.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen was born icon in Natchez and was a graduate of Natchez High School. He was a resident of Vicksburg since 1967. He was a retired shift supervisor for International Paper Company after 30 years of employment. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Nazarene Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Decota Prather Allen.

Survivors include a son, John Aaron of Hattiesburg; daughter, Katie Allen of Vicksburg; father, W. T. Allen Sr. of Vicksburg; brother, Jerry Allen of Sevierville, Tenn.; and two sisters, Perry Boyanton of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Joyce Maxwell of Vicksburg.

Pallbearers will be Leonard Rouse, Ken Whittington, Stanley Porter, David Fielder, Ronnie Sanders, Tommy Boyanton, Alan Boyanton, and Joel Bowman.

Memorials may be made to American Red Cross or a charity of choice.

NATCHEZ - Services for Dudley Halford, 86, of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel.

Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Mr. Halford was born icon Oct. 20, 1918, in Franklin County, the son of the late Willie and Janie Norris Halford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rhoda Halford; and son, Calvin Halford.

Survivors include his children, Eugene Halford and wife, Sonyi, of Rosharon, Texas, Faye Woods and husband, William, of Woodville, Bernice Harvey and husband, Coy, Nadine Holton and husband, Delmer, Betty Dawson and husband, Tony, and Melvin Halford, all of Natchez; brother, Weldon Halford of Natchez; sisters, Vivian Joy of Natchez and Cloney Brown of Meadville; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tonya Dawson, Stacie Cloy, and Sundra Williams.

Mary B. Hardin

June 2, 1919 - Dec. 30, 2004

NATCHEZ - Services for Mary B. Hardin, 85, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bright Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.

Burial will be in the Natchez National cemetery under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Hardin was born icon June 2, 1919, in Macon, the daughter of the late Emmett and Cynthia Bailey. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and a member of Bright Star Baptist Church choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Hardin Jr.; two sons, Harold G. Hardin and Nathaniel Hardin; sister, Annie Deal; sisters-in-law, Rosie Hardiem, Louvenia Hardin, Edna Hardin, and Annie Hoggot; and brother-in-law, Joseph Hardin.

Survivors include a daughter, Bessie Rollins of Minneapolis, Minn.; three sons, Booker T. Washington of Chicago, Ill., Albert Hardin, and Johnny Hardin, both of Natchez; four grandchildren, Earl Washington, Mary Ann Rollins-Myles, Joyce Washington, all of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mary Elizabeth Deal of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters-in-law, Mary Hall, Janie Hardin, and Lillian Hardin; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Hardin, Albert Hardin, Booker T. Washington, Earl Washington, Earl Gordon, and Perry Bruce.
