A time to be born...
Sister Maud Corun Taylor, affectionately known to all as, Corinne was born icon the youngest of five children on April 4, 1933 in Claiborne County to the late Mr. James and Mrs. Ella Martin Taylor. She was preceded in death by her brother, Elijah Davis and her sisters, Willie Bee Neal, Ethel Neal and Susie Mae Gardner.
A time to plant ...
In an effort to heed God's instruction in Luke 12:40, 'Therefore be ye ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the son of man cometh, " Sis. Sanders accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Clover Valley Missionary Baptist Church where she served for over 66 years. Sister Sanders was an avid servant of the Lord. Red, her favorite color, symbolic for the blood of Christ, was her symbol of love, courage and passion for redemption. Often singing "Under the Blood", she knew that Jesus was the only way. Her growth and spiritual development inspired her to remain a very motivated, dedicated, faithful and inspirational member until her death. Over the years, she has served as Assistant Secretary in the Finance Office; President, Secretary and Treasurer of the choir. As a member of the choir, Sister Sanders often led songs-a position fitting her personality, talent and belief. Guiding her belief was Psalms 100:1-2, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with Gladness: come before his presence with singing". This belief was evident in her passion for singing as she willingly sang throughout the community-church after church, funeral after funeral, program after program. Two of her favorite songs were "Move to the Sky" and "Thank You Sir".
Her love for Christ was demonstrated in her unselfish love for her family, church, friends and acquaintances. Sister Sanders was not ashamed to acknowledge her dependency on her Savior wherever she went-often confessing through yet another favorite song, "Jesus is on the Main Line". She touched the hearts and souls of many through her caring, kind, sharing and singing spirit. To her family and friends, she was an excellent gardener. She also enjoyed quilting and canning and enjoyed sharing her talents with others.
A time to achieve...
Sister Sanders received her formal education in Claiborne County Schools. In 1944, she met and married icon the late David (Sandy) Sanders, Sr. To this union 9 children were born. Three of her children preceded her in death; Michael, Marchia and David Sanders, Jr.
A time to transition ..
It is a fact that life is uncertain, but two facts must claim our attention and they are the certainty and
nearness of death. Christianity exempts no one; it only insures triumph over death. Sister Corinne Taylor Sanders accomplished this triumph on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at River Region Medical Center in the early morning hours, when she reached up for Glory and heeded God's calling and gracefully accepted her well-earned wings.
A time to remember ...
Her memories will be cherished by her five sons, Lucious, Elza Charles, Cheyienne, Edmond "Bey" (Theresa), and Adrian "Yick" (Hazel); one special daughter, DeBorah Ann Anderson; a step daughter, Daisy Reed; two sisters, Annie Lee Taylor and Christine Thomas; godchildren, Phoebe Sanders and Ricky Johnson; sixteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
