Reverend Walter Pittman was born, January 19, 1955 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to the late Ruthie Mae Pittman and Huey Mace. He was preceded in death by his mother, grandmother, Elnora Pittman; two brothers, Charlie Pittman and Ricky Carson and two uncles.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Clara Pittman; three sons, Shondale Pittman-Lockeridge, Leroy Evans, Quinton (Barbara) Harris; one daughter, Kendra (Carlos) Jones; thirteen sisters, Irene Pittman, Lynette (Elbert) O’Neal, Tena M. Mace, Glenda (Angelou) Taylor, Janice (Jerome) Carter, Dr. Mary (Dale) Edwinson, Shirlena (Perci) Lambert, Deborah Carmichael, Angela Hamilton, Rose Grey, Rosalyn Grey, Bessie Grey, and Ericka Weatley; five brothers, Huey Mace, Jr., Robert (Betty) Mace, Sr., Darryl Carson and Roger Carson; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two loving nephews he loved as his own, Kentara Pittman, Deonce Pittman Davis and god-brother, Carl Wallace; a host of family and friends including the Brown, Dennis, Dunbar, Drayton, Flagg, Funches and Tyler families.

He confessed Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He later was ordained under the leadership of Reverend K. C. Frazier. He was active in church until his health failed. He was married icon to Clara Marie Pittman for twenty-one and a half years, and the father of many…

Iris Jeanette Wince was born icon on September 13, 1957 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to the late Melvin Mixon and Dorothy W. Johnson.

She confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age.

Iris was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Mixon; her mother, Dorothy W. Johnson; uncle, James L. Wince and special friend, Juster Duckworth.

She will be forever be cherished and remembered by: her brothers, David (Johnnie Mae) Williams of Detroit, Michigan and Shawn Johnson of Vicksburg, Mississippi; sisters, Annette (Willie) Sanders and Sharon Johnson both of Vicksburg, Mississippi; two uncles, Donell (Rosie) Wince of Vicksburg, Mississippi and Ronald Wince of Atlanta, Georgia; one aunt, Minnie Lee Allison of Greenville, Mississippi; nephew, Myreon Williams; nieces, Dawntae Wynn Hayes, Keshawn Johnson, Hannah Henderson and Angelina Johnson; and other relatives and friends including Yvonne Mixon, MelvaMixon, Gwendolyn Mixon Harris, Kim Russell, Eerick Russell, Eddie Sweezer and Antonio Mixon all of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Cordellia Brown Warfield was born icon on January 27, 1966 in Warren County Vicksburg, Mississippi to Linda Jean Brown and the late Leon Amos.

She graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1984. She then attended Hinds Community College where she received an Associate's of Arts Degree in Business Administration.

Cordellia was a dedicated employee of The Corps of Engineers for many years as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) until her passing. Cordellia accepted Christ at an early age and served faithfully in the church. She was an active member of King of Kings Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Willie Taylor where she served on the Praise Team Ministry, Out Reach Ministry, and a Sunday school teacher.

Ms. Warfield has one daughter, Tiffany A. Warfield (Amoni Hearron granddaughter) of Vicksburg, MS., one son, Uriah L Warfield of Vicksburg, MS, one brother, Michael A. Brown of Vicksburg, MS, three sisters, Cassandra Brown of Vicksburg, MS., Augustine Brown-Savage (Daniel) of Chicago, Illinois, and Katelynn Brown-Neely(Walter) of Shreveport, LA. She was the greatest aunt (teetee) to five nieces and two nephews who will greatly miss her.

There are blessings that are reserved for the saints on earth and in the holy city, including the river of living waters and the tree of life. Life began for Mrs. Kathryn Smith Huell also known as “Kat” on August 7, 1953. She was the first child of 10 children born icon to the late Mr. Otha Smith and the late Mrs. Virginia Smith. She was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda, and a brother Arnold Ray Smith.

There is no more important truth in the Bible than the sovereignty of God. The coherence of nature, the destiny of world events and the meaning of human life all hinge on one’s belief in God. Kathryn was baptized as a young girl, full of spirit with a zeal for the love of God by Rev. James Williams, at Hickory Tree M.B. Church, where she remained a member until death.

Kathryn received her early education from Bovina Elementary School, Jefferson Junior High and Rosa A. Temple High. As a result of integration, she graduated from Warren Central High School in 1971. Immediately following high school, Kathryn relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana and a year later moved to Aurora, IL where she was employed by National Brush Company. On May 11, 1981, Kathryn married icon the late Michael Huell and three children were born icon during this union. In 1983, following the death of her father, Kathryn moved her family back home in Vicksburg, MS. She worked at Warren Junior High School doing what she absolutely loved, cooking and later retired due to her health in 2003.

Kathryn had a passion for cooking. Her dishes were often requested in such abundance that she created Lady Kay’s Cookbook. This cookbook is not only filled with recipes of her famous dishes, but also her love. In addition to cooking, she also enjoyed completing puzzle books, not to mention her love for reminiscing about the “good ole days”. Kathryn had a memory that could recall details from decades before.

On the evening of August 29, 2016, after a lengthy illness and brief stay in the hospital, Kathryn began to take heed to her favorite song lyrics and said, “meet me Jesus, meet me, I want You to meet me in the middle of the air. If these wings should fail me, I want You to meet me with another pair.” Kathryn received those new wings and left this physical world.

Kathryn leaves to cherish her memories five children, Dwayne Smith, Felecia Smith, Michelle Huell, Malcolm Huell and Teresa Huell; six grandchildren, Sha’kayla Smith, Marcus Huell, Jaylen Smith, Alaiyah Smith, Damiah Heard and Little Michael Butts all of Vicksburg, MS; seven siblings, James Smith (Betty), Lawrence Smith, Charles Smith (Carol), Ethel Pearl Smith, Debra Harris, Janice (Marvin) Jones, and Patricia Anderson; a special sister-in-law, Veronica Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Millard Ruth Cosby

Mrs. Millard R. Cosby was born icon to the late John Ross, and the late Ethel L. Brown on May 24, 1931.

She accepted Christ at an early age, and was member of Holly Grove M.B. Church. She was a private caregiver and entrepreneur. Mrs. Cosby was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel L. Brown, her father John Ross, a daughter, Constance McCoy White, a son, Dwane Earl Palmer and a nephew, Kenneth Ross.

Mrs. Cosby is survived by three daughters, Paula Green (Aaron), Hope Ross, and Angela Palmer; one son, Halbert Cosby; and one sister, Loice Mixon. She also leaves to mourn her passing, a Host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews; Goddaughter, Gladys Lumpkin, a God-sister, Pinkie Lee Donerson, and other relatives and friends.

Walter was born icon on May 27, 1962 to the late George Price, Sr., and Willie V. Price. Walter was baptized at an early age at Mt. Alban Missionary Baptist Church by Reverend A. B. Brown.

He later joined Mt. Ararat Baptist church where he served as a deacon under the leadership of pastor Johnny L. Williams. Walter worked at Rainbow Casino of 18 years as a valet attendant. He worked for Foam Packaging until his health failed.

Walter enjoyed teaching Sunday School, watching westerns, listening to his favorite artist, Rod Steward, collecting firearms and playing video games. Walter was known to have everyone in tears of laughter at family gatherings. He had a love of history and could remember dates and events of any era. His fascination with the Kennedy era was astounding.

Walter was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Ruthie Lee Price and Linda Carter; brothers, George Price, Sr., and Larry Price; maternal grandmother, Annie Wilson; paternal grandmother, Lizzie Robb Price and his wife, Cassandra Johnson Price.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Charlotte (Eric) Sylvester, and Jalyncia Jones; five grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Tatyana Barnes, Mya Shorter, Marcus Shorter, Eric Sylvester, Jr., and Mikhyd Sylvester; two brothers, John (Carolyn) Price of Desota, Texas and Calvin Price of Vicksburg, Mississippi; four sisters, Virginia (Thomas) Richey of Tupelo, Mississippi, Beatrice (Wade) Wilson of Dallas, Texas, Kathryn Price of Tallahassee, Florida, and Patricia Price of Vicksburg, Mississippi; a loving sister-in-law, Leeretha Price of Bellwood, Illinois; two aunts, Janie B. Hill of Buffalo, New York and Annie Mae Wilson of Vicksburg, Mississippi; his companion, Gloria Moore; special friends and cousins, Theodore Price, Sr., Mary and Herman Winters, Virginia Miller, Tommy London, Curby Truitt, Cecil Johnson, Donald Erves, John Williams, Claudia Hester, Terrance Judge, and a host of relatives including the Price, London, Sanders, Judge, Barnes, Wilson, Wells and Winters families.

Miss Gabrielle Ann "GABBY" Butler

Gabrielle Ann Butler was born icon June 2, 1992 in Jackson, MS to Milton Butler, Jr. and Donna Hicks Douglas. She was affectionately known to her family and friends as “Gee-Gee or Gabby.”

Gabrielle was a faithful servant of God and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She received her Holy Sacrament of Baptism at an early age and First Holy Communion at the age of 10.

Gabrielle attended Warren Central High School however due to being diagnosed with Sarcoma Cancer at the age of 17, she completed her high school diploma through the Cornerstone Christian Correspondence School. At the time of her untimely death, Gabrielle was taken online classes with Penn Forrest College majoring in respiratory therapy.

Gabrielle’s favorite color was pink and her favorite pattern was cheetah print. She loved all things related to fashion such as makeup and online shopping for clothes, shoes and jewelry. Gabrielle loved caring for her dogs, Lui, and Evy as well as her fish, Chloe. Also, she enjoyed hanging out with her best friends and mentoring her nieces and nephews. During her down time, Gabrielle spent time reading motivational books, listening to inspirational music, and posting encouraging messages and scripture on Facebook. She had 22, 654 admirers following her story on her page. Despite the many challenges in her life, she made it her mission to inspire others.

Gabrielle was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Milton Butler, Sr., and Ruby Pearl Gray Butler; maternal grandparents, Alvin Hicks and Anna Bell Sam Hicks; and step sister, Cynthia Green.

Gabrielle leaves to cherish her memories: her father, Milton Butler, Jr. (Vivian) and mother, Donna Douglas (Cedric) of Vicksburg, MS; step grandparents, C.B. Kelly (Jean) of Vicksburg, MS; two brothers, Milton Butler, III (Patricia) of Jackson, MS and Cordell Ballansaw (Merisa) of Carrollton, TX; two sisters, Linda Butler of Jackson, MS and Lisa McGowan (Jim) of Vicksburg, MS; step sister, Valerie Green of Vicksburg, MS; 8 nephews, 5 nieces, a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and relatives including the Butler, Coleman, Williams, Hicks, Johnson, Dunbar and Douglas families.
