ANGLIN
Nora Esther Anglin, 67, of Pascagoula, Miss., died December 22, 2002, in Pascagoula. She was born icon February 28, 1935, in Greenville, Miss.
Mrs. Anglin was a member of St. Pierre Episcopal Church of Gautier. She was a retired PBX operator with Singing River Hospital System. Mrs. Anglin was preceded in death by her parents, William Roy and Lois Triplett Wilkerson and husband, James Thomas Anglin.
Survivors include, son, James Thomas (Debbie) Anglin, Jr. of Ocean Springs; brother, Bill (Beverlee) Wilkerson of Pensacola, Fla.; sister, Jo Ann (John) Jarrell of Gautier; grandchildren, Noah Thomas Anglin, Heather Wood and Jennifer Wood; nephews, David (Kelli) Wilkerson and Robert (Jessica) Wilkerson; nieces, Jennifer (Billy) Wilder and Julie (Alex) Gresham; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 26, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m., Friday, December 27, from St. Pierre Episcopal Church in Gautier with Father Scott Lenoir officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time.
Internment will follow at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula.

BAKER
Laura Frances Smith Baker, 70, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Dec. 23, 2002, in Mobile, Ala. She was born icon May 17, 1932 in Chattanooga, Tenn. She was a former resident of Cleveland, Tenn., and moved to Pascagoula in 1958. She retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula after working over 25 years. She was a member of Eastern Star in Pascagoula.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Theodore Baker and Charles D. Smith; son, Hobert Eugene Smith; step-son, Roger Smith; three sisters and two brothers, Louella Goodwin, Betty Walker, Edna Parton, Luke Brogdon, and Mark L. Brogdon.
Survivors include four sisters and one brother, Alma Walters, Cleveland, Tenn., Mary Ann Burton, Benton, Tenn., Lurrie Mae Edwards, Cleveland, Tenn., Shirley Branam, Benton, Tenn., James Edward Branam, Cleveland, Tenn.; adopted sister, Ann Jerkins, Pascagoula; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be Friday, Dec. 27, 2 p.m., at Serene Memorial Gardens, Escatawpa, Miss.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

DELONG
Emma Lucille DeLong, 85, of Forts Lake, Miss., died December 23, 2002, at her residence. She was born icon August 24, 1917, in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
Mrs. DeLong was a member of Midway United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. DeLong was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel DeLong.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Nolan Harnage of Forts Lake; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna Towell, Dorotha McCloskey, Alice and Herbert Cothern, Julia and Leroy Soward, all of Heber Springs, Ark., Polly Wood of Little Rock, Ark.; brothers, R.E. Wood of Heber Springs, Ark., and K.V. Wood of Olympia, Wash.; grandchildren, Barbara (Brad) Bennett, Richard (Jennifer) Harnage, Sandra (Steven) Bosarge; great grandchildren, Jim Nolan Bennett, Katy Bennett, Jody Bennett, Leann, Stephanie and Jessica Bosarge, Kelly and Chance Harnage, Wayne Goodwin; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, Dec. 26, at 7 p.m. from Midway United Methodist Church in Moss Point with the Rev. M.L. McCormick officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to service.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens in Heber, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Nolan Harnage, Brad Bennett, Richard Harnage, Steven Bosarge, Jim Bennett, and R.E. Wood. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of The Singing River Swingers Square Dance Club.
The family prefers donations be made to Midway United Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. DeLong.

RYAN
Joseph Charles "Jimmy" Ryan, 83, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002. Mr. Ryan was a lifelong resident of Kreole, Miss. He was born icon on Sept. 26, 1919, in Jackson County, Miss. Mr. Ryan was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired from IPCO after 39 years, having served as Secretary of the Paper Mill Workers Union for many years. He was a former member of the American Legion and a member of the Kreole United Methodist Church in Moss Point, Miss. Mr. Ryan was preceded in death by his parents, Capt. James C. and Victoria Hunter Ryan; sisters, Baby Margie Ryan, Ellie Mae Dudley, Phyllis Moore and Gloria Knight; brothers, Billy and George Ryan.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruby C. Hough Ryan of Moss Point; two daughters, Joan Boudreaux and Cheryle Ryan Herndon both of Helena, Miss.; sister, Margie Wistalke of Chicago, Ill.; brother, Paul Ryan of Fla.; five grandchildren; Joe (Pam) Ditsworth, Sherri Purnell (Timmy) Walker, Caley (Wende) Reeves and Carl Herdon; six great grandchildren; Ryan and Matthew Ditsworth, Robey Reeves, Cheyenne, Tiffany and Ethan Walker; a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Monday, Dec. 23, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m., from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Roy Barlow, the Rev. Don Edeker and the Rev. Wendell Stork officiating. Burial will follow at the Orange Grove cemetery in Moss Point.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Ditsworth, Lonnie Bosarge, Tommie Seaman, Horace Goff, Dorian Stone and Darrell Brown.

SAXON
Dorothy Lee Boyles Saxon, 76, of Moss Point, Miss., died December 23, 2002, in Pascagoula. She was born icon September 6, 1926, in Marion County, Miss. Mrs. Saxon was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church. She was a clerk with Action Printing and also a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Atera Lott Boyles and husband, Acy Leroy Saxon, Sr.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Acy Leroy (Gloria) Saxon of Wade; daughters and son-in-law, Sylvia Alicia (Randy) Oliver of Moss Point and Velinda Daphne Craven of Moss Point; sisters, Eloise Rowell of Foxworth, Miss., Bernice Pittman of Wade and Emma Lou Miller of Foxworth, Miss.; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 26, 2002 at 1 p.m. from New Hope Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Bobby Lewis officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service time.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Biloxi National cemetery in Biloxi, Miss.

WELFORD
James David Welford, 60, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2002, in Pascagoula, Miss. He was born icon February 3, 1942, in Lucedale, Miss.
He was retired from South Central Bell. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict where served in the Special Forces for the Army. He was also in the Army Reserves. He was a member of Canaan Assembly of God Church where he was also a Royal Ranger Commander.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.P. and Lillie Mae Welford, and brother, Jake Welford.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Welford, Moss Point; son and daughter-in-law, Gino (Doris) Welford, Moss Point; sisters and brother-in-law, Joeann (Charles) McMurphy, Lucedale, Miss., Linda (Ricky) Allredge, Lucedale, Miss.; brother and sister-in-law, George (Bonnie) Welford, Vancleave, Miss.; grandchildren, Kelsey and Laci Welford, Moss Point; and Jennifer and Mark Krist, Moss Point; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 24, at Canaan Assembly of God Church in Moss Point. Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m., at Canaan Assembly of God Church.
Pallbearers will be The Royal Rangers of Canaan Assembly Of God, Michael White, Justinn Smathers, Colby Pepper, Jacob Tilley, Allen Harvey, and Clay Mosley.
The Rev. Rodney Coleman and the Rev. Van Carpenter will officiate. Also assisting will be Royal Rangers Commanders, Bruce Pepper and Rodney Carter.
The family of Mr. Welford would like to thank the staff of Singing River Hospital and friends for their support and prayers during his illness
Burial will be in Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa, Miss.

WILKS
Ellie Virginia "Bobby" Greene Wilks, 79, of Moss Point, Miss., died December 24, 2002, in Mobile, Ala. She was born icon April 21, 1923, in Jackson County. Mrs. Wilks was a member of Kreole United Methodist Church. She retired from Eckerd Drugs where she was a Food Service Manager. Mrs. Wilks was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Green and a daughter, Nona Lee Green.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Clifford Wilks of Moss Point; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Ann (Gary) Campbell of Herndson, Virginia; son-in-law, L.C. "Bubba" Green of Hurley; sisters, Bethel Robertson of Moss Point, Emma Lee Alexander of Anderson, South Carolina, Joyce Lindsey Jones of Mobile, Ala., Jazie Torjusen of Pascagoula, Betty Jo Boutwell of Pascagoula and Linda Bullock of Moss Point; granddaughters, Mallissa Green of Hurley and Joannalee Campbell of Herndson, Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 26, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Friday, December 27, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Moss Point with the Rev. David Cumbest and the Rev. Roy Barlow officiating.
Interment will follow in Orange Grove cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Robertson, Bill Robertson, Carroll Robertson, Mike Torjusen, Richard Torjusen and Danny Lindsey.

CARTER
Earl McBride Carter, 76, of Hurley, Miss., went home to be with Jesus on December 20, 2002. He was born icon February 12, 1926 and was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church in Agricola. He taught the Adult Sunday School Class for many years.
An accomplished musician, playing both the mandolin and the guitar, he was a lover of bluegrass gospel music. Carter had several bluegrass gospel records to his credit on which he wrote most of the songs that he sang. He also loved to go freshwater fishing. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a pipefitter and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local No. 436 at Ingalls Shipbuilding where he had worked for thirty-one years before retiring in 1984.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earlie M. & Loda Mae Carter, and two brothers, Jarrold Carter, and Lenny Carter. His is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Mrs. Juanita Carter; two sons, Freddy and Sonja Carter of Lucedale, and Robert and Carla Carter of Hurley; one daughter, Gloria and Mackie Amacker of Noxapater, one sister, Nita Gay & Bobby Goff; two brothers, Byron "Tink" & Glenda Carter, and Larry & Corma Carter. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, December 23, 2002, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Magnolia Springs Assembly of God Church in Hurley. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. James F. Coleman, Rev. Rodney Coleman, and Bro. Jerry Goff officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Springs cemetery, Hurley.
Pallbearers will be Michael O'Quinn, Jeremy Carter, Jason Carter, Buddy Cumbest, Craig Nelson, Steve Goff, Lee Hancock, and Seth Rigdon. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to: Southern Care Hospice @14507 Lemoyne Blvd. Building 2, Suite B, Biloxi, Miss., 39532. COTITA
Avis Mardell Cotita, 81, of Gautier, Miss., died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 in Gautier, Miss. She was born icon December, 4, 1921, in Poplar Creek, and has been a resident of Jackson County since 1940.
She was the former owner of Cotita's Restaurant in Pascagoula from 1956-1985. She was a member of Martin Bluff Baptist Church in Gautier and attended Bethel Assembly of God in Pascagoula. She was also a local lay minister and certified author.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Stephens Cotita.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna Maria Cowart Smith and Kenneth Ozelle Smith, of Gautier; three grandchildren, Karen Susanne Cowart Martin (Tommy), of Gautier, Larry Edwin Cowart Jr., Moss Point, Lana Elizabeth Smith Watts (Benjamin Jr., ) of Mobile, Ala.; six great-grandchildren, Larry Edwin "Trey" Cowart III, Jacques T. Martin III; Jean Taylor Martin, Brooke L. Cowart, Benjamin Patrick Watts, III, and Elijah Creed Watts.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 22, 12:30-2:30 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joe Spence, the Rev. Donna Spence, the Rev. Harold Pitts, the Rev. Pat Garrison, and the Rev. Eric Smith officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Jolly McCarty, Buddy Criddle, David Criddle, Frank "Sonny" Rains, Herman Smith, and Dr. John Privett. Honorary pallbearers will be Nina Terral, Tracy Venable, Dr. Robert McBroome, Rev. Murphy Young, Ken Stearnes, and Tom Ladnier.
Memorials may be made to Singing River Charitable Foundation Hospice of Light, 2101 Hwy. 90, Gautier, Miss., 39553.
Interment will be in Jackson County Memorial Gardens, Pascagoula, Miss. Arrangements made by O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
