WILSON
Mr. Edward "Big Ed" Wilson, 62, of Fruitland Park, Miss., died March 29, 2003, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss. He was of the Baptist faith, a retired fireman with the Pascagoula Fire Department, and a retired resident manager of Gulf Coast Community College at Perkinston Campus.
Survivors include one daughter, Caryn Ann White of Nashville, Tenn.; one son, Edward G. "Little Ed" Wilson of Glennallen, Alaska; two brother, Donald and Linda Wilson of Grand Bay, Ala.; sisters-in-law, James B. and Bea White of Mobile, Ala., one sister, Delores Brown of Camp Springs, Maryland; dear and special extended family, Wendell and Tammie, Ross, Robert and Emily Weathers; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 1, at 2 p.m., with visitation from noon until the service time, at Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins, Miss.
Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery, Wiggins, Miss.
All members, past and present, of the Pascagoula Fire Department served as honorary pallbearers.

PAYNE
Rev. Victor James Payne, 59, of Charlotte, N.C., died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Carolinas Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. He was born icon July 9, 1943, in Gulfport, Miss., and grew up in Lucedale, Miss. Reverend Payne was a true soldier of the cross as a Baptist minister for 43 years of active service. He served churches in Kentucky, Indiana, Mississippi, Texas, and the Carolinas. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Dr. Peggy Langley Payne, a nursing professional; one daughter, Cathy Payne Anderson, Minister of Children at First Baptist Church, Asheville, N.C., where she resides with husband Bruce Anderson; and children, one son, James Gordon Payne of Hollywood, Calif. and fiance Jenn Marlier; three brothers, John Gordon Payne, Lucedale, Miss., Rodney Michael Payne and wife Carlene, Montgomery, Ala., Van Chancey Payne and wife Gwen of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Rebecca Lisa Payne of Richmond, Va.; two granddaughters, Gracie and Abby Anderson of Asheville, N.C.; nephews, John Payne, Jr. and wife Winnie, Justin Payne and wife Nicole, Larry Sanders and wife Marsha, David Millholin, Michael Loutzenheizer, Dakota Langley, Lavone Langley, Hunter Zeb Langley; nieces, Mandy Carroll and husband Wes, Jennifer Payne, Belinda Gomez and husband Juan, Christa Steele and husband Luckey; in-laws, Nella and Jack Sanders, Nancy and Bob Milhollin, Roy and Minnie Loutzenheizer, Luke and Jonnie Langley, Bill and Lana Langley; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Vic lived his life for his Christ and others. He was Son of Godly Parents, Blessed Brother of Loving Brothers and Sisters, Husband of his Best Friend, Father of Treasured Children, Grandfather of Beloved Grandchildren, A Soldier of the Cross.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at his church Eastern Hills Baptist Church on Saturday, April 5, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Dr. Stuart Arnold and Reverend Dr. David Myers officiating. The family will receive friends at the Wilson Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 5301 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, N.C. Reverend Payne will lie in state at Eastern Hills Baptist Church from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday Morning. The family will receive friends at the Wilson Chapel from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday evening.
Services in Lucedale, Miss. will be held Tuesday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lucedale. The family will receive friends at the Church two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in Magnolia cemetery.

WONSLEY
Lonnie Mae Johnson Wonsley was born icon May 26, 1937, to the late Otis Booker T. Johnson and the late Estelle Johnson in Forest, Miss.
Mrs. Wonsley was a resident of Jackson County, Miss., since her early young adult years. Although she held several occupations in her lifetime, her most rewarding venture was being a housewife and dedicated, supportive mother to her 11 children, often being mother and father.
Mrs. Wonsley departed her life on Thursday, March 27, 2003. Her parents; one sister, Annie Ruth Johnson Newkirk; and a son, Larry James Johnson, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wonsley was previously married icon to the late Nathaniel "Shorty" Wonsley Jr.
She leaves to mourn with cherished memories a devoted companion, Freddie Reed; one brother, Leroy Johnson of Pascagoula; 10 children, Alexander Johnson Wonsley of Moss Point, Alberta Marie Wonsley of Gautier, Otis Lee Wonsley (Marsha) of Washington, DC, Dorothy Mae Wonsley Bryant (Grady) of Moss Point, George Ivory Wonsley of Jackson, Miss., Leroy Wonsley (Vera) of Winston Salem, N.C., Nathaniel "Nate" Wonsley III (Wendy) of Tampa, Fla., Hosea Wonsley (Denise) of Gautier, Mark Wonsley and Robert James Wonsley of Moss Point; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.
The remains will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Shiloh Baptist Church, where funeral services begin promptly at noon with the Rev. James Magee Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Scranton cemetery, Pascagoula.

SEKINGER
Robert Joseph Sekinger, 62, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at a local hospital. He was a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Waveland, Miss.
Mr. Sekinger was a former employee of the Grand Casino in Gulfport, and a member of the American Legion Post #0077. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Sekinger was preceded in death by his father, Henry A. Sekinger; mother, Helen Reiser Sekinger; and brother-in-law, Henry A. Sekinger, Jr.
He is survived by one brother, Allen K. Sekinger of Waveland, Miss.; and two sisters, Thelma S. April of New Orleans, La., and Shirley S. Pear of Waveland, Miss.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 1, at 2 p.m., at the St. Clair Catholic Church. Mr. Sekinger will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m.
Interment will follow in Waveland cemetery in Waveland, Miss.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Unit of the Gulfport Memorial Hospital.

TAYLOR
Margie Lorraine Vice Taylor, 65, died April 4, 2003 in Helena, Miss. She was born icon November 12, 1937 in Mobile, Ala., and she was a lifelong resident of Jackson County.
Mrs. Taylor is preceded in death by her parents, John Franklin and Mytrier Vice and sister, Helen Parker. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Raymond Taylor, Helena, Miss., son, Dennis Raymond Taylor, Helena, Miss. and daughter, Margie Lynette Rico of Helena, Miss. Also, brother, Frank E. Vice; sisters, Lela Mae Naron and Peggy Dyess, all of Helena, Miss.; grandsons, John Adam Taylor, Andrew David Downing and Jesse hunter Downing and granddaughter, Laura Virginia Taylor, all of Helena, Miss.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 6, 2003 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Jackson County Funeral Services, Escatawpa, Miss. Funeral services will be Monday, April 7, 2003 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Alton Stokes and Rev. Jerry Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery in Helena, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Richie Moore, Russell Moore, Frank Vice, Mark Naron, David Hunnings and Curt Parker.
Jackson County Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

DENTON
Mary Onnie "PeeWee" Smith Denton, 85, of Pascagoula, Miss., died April 4, 2003, in Wade, Miss. She was born icon May 13, 1917, in Energy, Miss. She loved being surrounded by family, quilting, cooking, fishing, playing bingo and slot machines. She was a loyal Atlanta Braves fan.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Roy Howard Denton; a son, Jerry Denton; a daughter, Mary Juanita Trusler, her parents, Parmer and Ruby Smith; sisters, Hazel Cole, Glather Cluck and Lollie Pulley; a brother, Danny Smith; son-in-law Leonard Wade Trusler Sr.; daughter-in-law, Patricia Joy Denton; two grandchildren, Denny Dean Denton and Daryl Robert Denton.
Survivors include brothers, Percy (Louise) Smith, Doris (Bill) Farmer, Ernest Smith, Annie Smith and Evans Smith; sons, Joseph Carroll (Marie) Denton, Roy Wayne Denton; daughters, Pam (Billy) Trusler, Janice (Ralph) Garofalo, and Connie (Gary) Hill; grandchildren, Debra (Ray) Parrish, Bonnie Fortier, Leonard Wade (Lisa) Trusler Jr., Donald Barnum, Billy (Dena) Trusler Jr., Roy Wayne (Tinker) Denton Jr., Dwayne (Charlene) Denton, Angel (Roger) Summer, Howard Dale (Michelle) Denton, Dean Hill, Donna Denton, Stacey Denton, and Patricia Joy (Timmy) Thomas, Mark ( Lynn) Garofalo and Randy (Chris) Grarofalo; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; a devoted first cousin, Maggie Scott and son, David Scott; and long time friends, Ellen Parker and Coletta Hand.
Pallbearers will be: Dwayne Denton, Billy Trusler Jr., Donald Barnum, Roy Wayne Denton, Howard Dale Denton, Leonard Wade Trusler Jr., Dean Hill and Mark Garofalo.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 6, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 7, at 11 a.m. in the O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel with visitation one hour before the service. Interment will be at Serene Memorial Gardens.

DUPREE
Mary Nell Barfoot DuPree, 72, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at her residence. She was born icon September 15, 1930, in Newton County, Miss. She attended Ingalls Avenue Baptist Church in Pascagoula and was a faithful, loving mother and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. DuPree, Jr.; and her parents, Clinton and Eula Barfoot.
Survivors include her devoted sister, Jewel Black, Pascagoula; three sons and daughter, John A. DuPree, Sr., (Brenda), Lenoir City, Tenn., Philip C. DuPree, and Danny R. DuPree, Sr., both of Deatsville, Ala., Paula DuPree Fries, (Christopher), Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Mary Susanne DuPree Tyler, John A. DuPree, Jr., Brian C. DuPree, Brandi D. DuPree, Danny R. DuPree, Jr., Ricky DuPree, Stephanie Catherine Fries; two great-grandchildren, Drayton and Shelby DuPree.
Visitation was Friday, April 3, from 6-9 p.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 4, at 2 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home in Union, Miss. Friends may visit from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in New Island cemetery, Newton County, Miss.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1922, Pascagoula, Miss., 39568.

BONDERER
Joseph Lawrence Bonderer, 78, of Moss Point, Miss., died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Ocean Springs Hospital, Ocean Springs, Miss.
He was a Toastmaster member, and a member of the Elks Lodge #1120, Elks crew captain, member of the Gulf Coast Mineral and Gem Society, a former Cub Scout leader and Scoutmaster, former Little League Baseball coach, former Tri-Cities King and a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Bonderer; parents, Thomas McMillan Bonderer and Dorothy Bonderer Wilson; and brother, Frederick Leal Bonderer.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Broadus Bonderer, of Moss Point, Miss.; one son, Dr. David Warren (DeDe) Bonderer, of Ocean Springs, Miss.; one daughter, Dixie Ann Bonderer (Wilton) Bridges, of Lilburn, Ga.; two stepsons, Thomas (Sharon) Broadus of Pearl, Miss., and Greg Broadus of Meridian, Miss.; two stepdaughters, Rhonda (Steve) Clark, of Gainesville, Fla., and Jeanette (Joe) Sanderson, of Pearl, Miss.; one uncle, Clifton (Paulina) Ramey, of Eagle Rock, Mo.; one aunt, Becky Nehring, of Miami, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 1, 2003, from 6-9 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2003, in the chapel of O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Griffin cemetery, Moss Point, Miss.

HACKLER
Gladys Jefcoat Hackler, 82, of Moss Point, Miss., died Sat. March 29, 2003, in Pascagoula, Miss.
Mrs. Hackler was born icon on Feb. 28, 1921, in Soso, Miss. Mrs. Hackler had retired from I.P.C.O as a registered nurse, and a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were her parents Jim and Leola Jefcoat and her husband Sidney L. Hackler Jr.
Her survivors include two sons and daughters in laws; Ronnie and Vicki Hackler of Pascagoula, Miss., and David and Debbie Hackler of Vancleave, Miss.; grandchildren, Chris, Michael, Steven and Josh Hackler; and two great-grandchildren, Hanna and Hunter Hackler. Numerous brothers, a sister and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2003, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Holder Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 1, 2003, at 10 a.m. from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Bobby Perry.
A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Laurel, Miss. at the Big Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
Holder-Wells Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss., is in charge of arrangements.
