PITTMAN
Mrs. Elizabeth Pittman, 80, died in the comfort of her home on July 27, 2004, after battling a long illness. She will be remembered as a generous, caring individual who dearly loved her family, church and friends. Her loving spirit was shown time and again by her selfless attendance to others in their time of need. She was one of the few remaining charter members of Spencer Memorial Baptist Church, Pascagoula, Miss. Elizabeth was a former employee of the Jackson County Tax Collector's Office. She was born icon in Columbia on May 14, 1924, and had been a resident of Pascagoula for 52 years. She was a graduate of Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, La. and Baton Rouge Business College. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Pittman Sr., her parents, John C. and Myrtle King Munn, and a sister, Mary Catherine Alford.
Mrs. Pittman is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James G. and Yvonne Pittman of Katy, Texas, and Robert C. and Lisa Pittman of Louisville, Ky.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara E. Pittman of Houston, Texas, Lynne Jones of Pascagoula, and Teresa and Dan Hubbard of Joliet, Ill. Mrs. Pittman was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Nichole and Steven Collins of Katy, Texas, David and Andrea Pittman of Dallas, Texas, Jason Randall of Houston, Texas, Kelly and Dane Jones of Lucedale, Maegan Jones of Pascagoula, Leeann Pittman and Brock Pittman, both of Gulfport, Joshua and Jenny Hubbard, Andrew Hubbard, and Ashley Hubbard, all of Joliet, Ill.; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert J. and Dot Munn of Zachary, La., Marion P. "Bo" and Linda Munn of Zachary, La., James L. and Vickie Munn of Baker, La.; two sisters, Nell Buffington of Collins and Cleo Rankin of Zachary, La.; and by 20 nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Mrs. Pittman's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Mrs. Judy Miller and the other wonderful caregivers who saw to her needs and gave her so much love, care and comfort during her illness.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Thomas and the Rev. Bobby Myrick officiating.
Interment will be held at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spencer Memorial Baptist Church, 4409 Lanier Ave., Pascagoula, Miss. 39581.
May her memory be a blessing to all who were touched by her life.

STRAHAN
Charles Franklin Strahan, age 69, died Monday, July, 26, 2004. He was born icon Dec. 19, 1934, in Pearl River County. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding, Change Order Department on Jan. 31, 2000. He lived in Pascagoula most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Strahan, and his mother, Grace James Strahan.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Strahan; son and his wife, Bobby and Pam Loper of Timberlake, N.C.; two grandchildren, Corbin and Avery Loper of Timberlake, N.C.; and a host of cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2004, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula. The Rev. Joe and Donna Spence will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Harris, Fred Lehman, Charles Robinson, Ricky Rutledge, Cliff Robinson and Don Barlow.
Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula. The Rev. Ramona Ready will officiate at graveside.

WILLIAMS
Mr. Billy Dorland Williams Sr., 71, died Tuesday morning, July 27, 2004, at his home in Pascagoula, Miss. He was born icon July 25, 1933, in Lombardy, Miss., but moved to and grew up in Wayne County at a young age. He was a resident of Pascagoula for 52 years.
He worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 42 years, in the Pipe Department and Quality Assurance. He graduated from Beat Four High School in Wayne County, Miss. He received a degree from Lincoln Institute of Technology in Industrial Management.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church for 42 years, where he served in many offices, such as President of County-Wide Men's Club. Mr. Williams was an Army Veteran serving his country at the Pentagon and then as a member of the 148th Eng. Co. and 890th Eng. Co. National Guard unit in Pascagoula. During this time he served under President Kennedy and his National Guard unit was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis.
He was a 32nd Degree member of the Masonic Lodge of Pascagoula and a Scottish Rite member in Gulfport, Miss. He was a member of the Police Auxiliary and Sheriff's Reserves. He served as chairman of the Planning Committee on Government Structures and member of Pascagoula Civil Service Commission under Mayor Tom Hewlett. He was a lieutenant colonel in the Mississippi State Guard, in which he had been active for 13 years.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Coral Williams; one brother, Aubrey Williams; and one sister, Imogene Williams Draughn.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Faye Doggett Williams of Pascagoula; one daughter, Donna (Noel) Lamey, Pascagoula; one son, Billy (Carmen) Williams Jr., Irvington, Ala.,; two brothers, Truman (Jeanette) Williams, Waynesboro, Miss., Huey (Irsula) Williams, Augusta, Ga.; one sister, Jerre Brewer, Hattiesburg, Miss.; two granddaughters, Destiny (Jody) Dunn, Wilmer, Ala., and Clare Lamey, Pascagoula; one grandson, Jason (Nora) Williams, Mobile, Ala.; three great-grandchildren, Tully Hope and Sophia Belle Dunn and Sam Emery Williams; and one special aunt, Annie Mae Overman, 96 years old; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A special thanks to Quality Hospice nurses and staff for their love and their excellent care.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Charles W. Roberts officiating, assisted by Rev. Edward Tyndall.
Pallbearers will be Jody Dunn, Max Draughn, John Williams and W. J. West. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Boyles Chapel cemetery, Wayne County, Miss. A short graveside service will be held by Rev. Leslie Trigg and the Mississippi State National Guard.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Kidney and Heart Associations.

YOUNGBLOOD
Mallinee Johnson Youngblood, age 85, of Laurel Hill, Fla., and Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Crestview, Fla. She was born icon on March 20, 1919, in Ruston, La.
Mallinee was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pascagoula where she taught Sunday School and was a Girls Auxiliary Leader in past years. She also enjoyed singing in the choir. Mallinee worked with Pascagoula School District as a cafeteria manager for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Stacy Jackson Johnson and Amelia Johnson; and two sisters, Mildred Mattingly and Nena Lee Madden.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, W. E. Youngblood of Laurel Hill; son, Rickey E. Youngblood and wife, Edith, of Moss Point, Miss.; daughter, Jeanea Lasseter and husband, Dennis, of Laurel Hill; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Calvary Baptist Church in Pascagoula, Miss. with Bro. Johnny Beaver officiating.
Burial will follow at Serene Memorial Gardens, Escatawpa, Miss.

CANTY
Mr. Harold Edward "Bub" Canty, 76, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Sunday, July 25, 2004, in New Orleans, La. He was born icon May 31, 1928, in Pascagoula. Mr. Canty was a retired printer from Goodgame Printing in Pascagoula, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Pascagoula. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. William Irving and Mrs. Lena Grant Canty; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Flanagan; three brothers, Mr. Dick Canty, Mr. Owen Canty and Mr. Kell Canty; and two brothers-in-law, Mr. Elvy Flanagan and Mr. Wilson Woodall.
He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Nancy Woodall of Gautier, three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ruby Canty of Pascagoula, Mrs. Lorene Canty of Meridian, and Mrs. Dorothy Canty of Sumrall; Betty Flanagan Hickox, Joan Flanagan Schilling, and Peggy Flanagan St. Amant were all very special nieces with whom he made his home for many years. Ali St. Amant, great niece, was a wonderful support to him, and Maurice Bowers was a caring neighbor and friend. Mr. Canty was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and his loyal dog, Sam.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, at First Baptist Church of Pascagoula with Dr. Rex Yancey and Rev. Dennis Ray Smith officiating. There will be a one-hour visitation in the church prior to service time. Interment will follow in Greenwood cemetery, Pascagoula.

GORDON
Mr. Richard Randolph Gordon, 51, died July 25, 2004, in Pascagoula, Miss. He was born icon on Feb. 14, 1953, in Woodland County, W. Va. He was preceeded in death by his father, Raymond Gordon; sisters, Connie Gordon, Candy Gordon; and an infant brother.
He is survived by his wife, Myrna Gordon, Moss Point, Miss.; daughter, Amanda Tanner, Moss Point; step-son, Lee (Shelly) Tanner, Escatawpa, Miss.; stepson, Chris Tanner, Lucedale, Miss., granddaughter, Alexia Tanner, Moss Point; grandsons, Dean Tanner, Moss Point, Gavin Tanner, Escatawpa; granddaughter, Whitley Tanner, Escatawpa; mother, Esta Marie Gordon, West Virginia; brothers, Raymond Gordon, and Doug (Debbie) Gordon; sisters, Diane (Roger) Brown, Gaile Adkinson, and Violet Cowan; special niece and nephew, Amber and Rick Manhather; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Jackson County Funeral Services in Escatawpa
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at the funeral home chapel with the Bro Gene Vance officiating.

KOGER
Edward Ballinger Koger, 88, of Gautier, Miss., went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2004, in Gautier. He was born icon May 11, 1916, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was a member of Gautier Presbyterian Church. He was retired from Litton Industries and was a U.S. veteran. He enjoyed dabbling in many things from swimming pool construction to selling life insurance, and was a cantaloupe farmer. He was a master woodworker, and also enjoyed oil and watercolor painting.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Koger Light; father, Edward Ballinger Koger; brothers, Kenneth Koger and Billy Koger; sisters, Lois Patterson and Mae Doop; and granddaughter, Laurie Ann White.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy G. Koger, Gautier, Miss.; daughters, Cheri White, of California, Cathy (Michael) McAndrew, of Arizona, and Patty (Steven) Walker, of California; grandchildren, Abra, Blithe and Caden McAndrew, and Mariah and Megan Walker.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at the Gautier Presbyterian Church with Pastor Chris Bullock officiating. Mr. Koger will have graveside services on Friday, July, 30, 2004, at Evergreen cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colo.

LINDNER
Mildred Joyce Lindner, born icon June 30, 1930, in Washington, died Friday, July 23, 2004, in Gautier, Miss. A resident of Gautier for the past 32 years, Ms. Lindner was an active member of Daughters of the King, various outreach programs and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Pascagoula.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frances George Lindner.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeanie Lindner May of Stevenson Ranch, Calif.; one son, Jeff Lindner of Columbus, Miss.; one brother, John Landberg of Reno, Nevada; and her grandson, Casey Matthew May of Stevenson Ranch, Calif.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at St. John's Episcopal Church, with Father John Gibson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 3507 Pine St., Pascagoula, Miss. 39567.

MOORE
Mary Evelyn Harkey Moore, 65, Gautier, Miss., died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at her home. She was born icon July 4, 1939, in Philadelphia, Miss., and has been a resident of Jackson County for 58 years.
She was a former employee of Wayne Lee's and Jerry Lee's in Pascagoula for 18 years and a former dispatcher for Gautier Volunteer Fire Department. She was active in fund-raisers, campaigns and a political supporter. She will be remembered for her dedicated support to her family and friends and her ability to never meet a stranger. She enjoyed gardening and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Annie Kate Harkey and Jessie Lynn Harkey. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Osie Ray Moore, Gautier; five daughters and two sons, Cheryl A. Wolverton, Gautier; Dale L. Roth (Debbie), Biloxi; Daryl L. Roth (Susie), Gautier; Lorretta M. Vaughn (Clark), Gautier; Rae Lynn Rouss (Larry), New Orleans, La.; Teresa A. Fitzgerald, Vancleave; Lisa G. Moore, Gautier; two brothers, Jessie N. Harkey, St. Catherine's, Canada; Eddie Mackie, Hurley, Miss.; three double cousins thought of as sisters, Louise Arnett (her husband, Travis), Alice Pitts and Mattie Ruth Kelly; 15 grandchildren, Melissa Dye, Chad Wolverton, Daniel Roth, Michael Roth, Jennifer Roth, Lillian Noble, Kelva Noble, Casey Vaughan, Corey Vaughan, Carrie Kegg, Jamie Ballard, Ray Ladnier, Lee Milligan, Brandi Page and Kristen Page; and 12 great-grandchildren, Kara Wolverton, Anna Wolverton, Justin Dye, Bryan Dye, Rachel Rother, Baileigh Vaughan, Tori Ballard, Tera Kegg, Tabatha Toney, Darrian Roberts, Brianna Ladnier and Elijah Ladnier.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula with Rev. Joe Digmon officiating.
Interment will be at Biloxi National cemetery, Biloxi, Miss.
Arrangements are by O'Bryant O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, Miss.
