Mr. Edward Arnold Hall Sr., 56, born
Jan. 12, 1949, died Jan. 28, 2005. He went to live with his Heavenly Father after a long battle with many health problems.
HOSEY
Earl Douglas Hosey, 60, expired at his home in Gautier, Miss., surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005. Mr. Hosey was born
Nov. 4, 1944, in Taylorsville, Miss., but lived most of his teen years in Pascagoula, graduating from Pascagoula High School in 1962. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church of Pascagoula. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. He worked for Gulf National Insurance of Biloxi for 15 years and retired from the U.S. State Department as a diplomatic courier in 1998, due to his health.

Ernest Alberti Ros, a native and lifelong resident of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005. He was 79.

Melvin H. Ely Jr., 84, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died Jan. 27, 2005, at DHC Regional Hospital in Tuscaloosa. He was reared near Harleston, in Jackson County, Miss., where he graduated from Moss Point High School in 1939. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp during World War II and served in Italy for 19 months. After returning from the service he worked in Logistics Management at Brookley AFB in Mobile, Ala., and at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, Okla. He retired in 1980 with nearly 39 years of federal civil service. He was an active member and deacon of Hopewell Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa.

Jeanette P. Tilley, 51, of Lucedale, Miss., died Jan. 28, 2005, in Biloxi, Miss. She was born
April 15, 1953, in Leakesville, Miss. Mrs. Tilley was a member of Magnolia Springs Assembly of God Church.

Mr. Charles Byron "Tinky" Carter, 72, of Lucedale, Miss., died Jan. 26, 2005, in Pascagoula. He was born
Sept. 28, 1932, in Hurley, Miss. Mr. Carter retired from the power plant at International Paper Co. after 43 years service.
CUMBEST
Mrs. Anna Mae Cumbest, 83, of Wade, Miss., died Jan. 26, 2005 at her residence. She was born
May 21, 1921, in George County. Mrs. Cumbest was a homemaker and member of Caswell Springs United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Earlie Pierce; husband, George Cumbest; sons, Kenneth and Tommy Cumbest.
ELAM
Mrs. Lila McIlwain Elam, 66, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Jan. 26, 2005, at her home. She was born
Aug. 6, 1938, in Pascagoula to the late Riley Barber McIlwain Sr. and Eliza Wheeler McIlwain.
MONROE
Edwin Kenyatta Monroe, 24, was born
Feb. 27, 1980, in Pascagoula, Miss., to Charles Waterman of Columbia and Delaine Monroe of Pascagoula. He was the eldest of four children of Delaine Monroe.
LOVETT
Mr. Leonard Gerard Lovett, 38, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at his home in Escatawpa, Miss. He was born
Sept. 5, 1966, in Houston, Texas. Mr. Lovett spent his youth in Gautier, where he played Dixie Youth Baseball for nine seasons. He was a 1984 graduate of Pascagoula High School and had been a firefighter and paramedic with Gautier Fire Department for the last 14 years.
FIELDS
Mr. Jack E. Fields, 77, of Escatawpa, Miss., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, in Pascagoula. He was born
Aug. 14, 1927 in Escatawpa. Mr. Fields was an outstanding football player for Moss Point High School during the mid 1940's and went on to become a three-year letterman at the University of Mississippi in Oxford. After returning home from Ole Miss, Mr. Fields served in the United States Marine Corps from 1948 until 1950, where he attained the rank of sergeant. Mr. Fields retired from the Finished Products Department at International Paper Company in Moss Point, and was a longtime member of Escatawpa Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who deeply cared for his church and his church family.
JOHNSON
Mrs. Lois Marie Kirkwood Johnson, 79, born
Jan. 23, 1926, in Big Point, Miss., to Seward and Ella Kirkwood, went to her heavenly home on Monday, Jan. 24, 2005. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her father and mother, and a brother, Rev. Alton Kirkwood. She was a member of Canaan Assembly of God Church.
MARTIN
Mary Edna Martin, 87, Pascagoula, Miss., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born
Oct. 3, 1917, in Brookhaven, Miss., and has been a resident of Pascagoula since 1944. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pascagoula and was formerly very active in the Sunday school department as a bookkeeper.
BANKSTON
Bobbie Louise Allbritton Bankston, 76, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, in La Plata, Md.
CRUTHIRDS
Vanos H. Cruthirds, 80, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, surrounded by his children. born
and raised in the Latimer community of Jackson Co., he left Mississippi as a teenager and joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. He helped develop Magnolia State Park and later planted forests in northern California.
LADNIER
Mr. William G. Ladnier, 79, a lifelong resident of Pascagoula, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at his residence. He was born
in Gautier, Miss. on July 17, 1925. He worked more than 43 years for Ingalls Shipbuilding and was a pipefitter by trade.
SUGGS
MSGT. Lloyd L. Suggs, Retired, a native of O'Brien, Fla., and longtime resident of Vancleave, Miss., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, in Broken Arrow, Okla., at the age of 73. Mr. Suggs enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. at the age of 15, having served in Korea, WWII and Vietnam, and retired with honors.

Mr. Bobby Vann "Chobbey" Fields, 55, of Escatawpa, Miss., died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, in Moss Point. He was born
Jan. 10, 1950, in Jackson County and had been a lifelong resident. Bobby was a former Tiger football player and 1969 graduate of Moss Point High School.
