Clara Beatrice Poole Bethany, 75, of Helena, Miss., died Aug. 21, 2005, in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born
Sept. 7, 1929, in Tupelo, Miss. Mrs. Bethany was a sales associate with Bargain Annex. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Effie Curry; four sisters; three brothers; spouses, Walter Poole and Ralph Bethany; granddaughter-in-law, Suzie; and two great grandchildren.
CARTEE
Verbon Pearson "Paul" Cartee, Jr. age 82, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, in Biloxi, Miss. He was born
to V.P. and Maude Ethel Jones Cartee on Jan. 31, 1923, in Gadson, Ala., and has been a resident of Pascagoula for 36 years. He worked at American Bridge in Birmingham, Ala., and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 18 years of service.
MCNAIR
Mr. Elisha "BO" Bonneparte McNair, 70, was born
on Aug. 23, 1933, in Carson, Miss. A native of Gulfport, Miss., and a lifelong resident of Moss Point, Miss., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005. He worked many years at Coastal Chemical and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding.
SPENCER
Earl Spencer, age 68, of Milton, Fla., passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005. Mr. Spencer was a native of McIntosh, Ala., and a longtime resident of Mississippi. He served in the U.S. Navy and was an auto mechanic for many years.
TANNER
Mrs. Gabrielle (Gabi) Tanner, 46, of Movella, Miss., died Aug. 21, 2005, in Jackson Miss. She was born
April 16, 1959, in Badwindsheim, Germany.
GREEN
Merle Green, 69 years old, formally of Wade Miss., passed away Aug. 20, 2005 in McAllen, Texas. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen, and charter member of East Central Masonic Lodge No. 631. Merle retired from Continental Can Co. with 38 years of service and was a professional photographer in McAllen since 1979. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Dora Green.
PRICE
Stephanie Ann Price, 49, a loving and caring daughter and friend died Aug. 18, 2005, in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born
Sept. 9, 1955, in Little Rock, Ark. A lifelong resident of Jackson County, she was a member of Canaan Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her father, Preston Price, Sr.; grandmother, Cecille Thames Freeny; and cousin, Cathy Naverrett.

Betty Peggy "Gigi" Randall Schmitz, 75, of Grand Bay, Ala., left this world to enter the kingdom of her heavenly Father on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005.
SPENCER
Earl Spencer, age 68, of Milton, Fla., passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005. Mr. Spencer was a native of McIntosh, Ala., and was an Auto Mechanic for many years.
BRENTZ
The gates opened wide and all the glory of Heaven was bestowed on Houston Robert Brentz on Saturday, August 20, 2005. "Shorty," as he was affectionately called, was born
March 12, 1923, in Pascagoula, Miss. to Albert and Ina Brentz. He served his country in both WWII and the Korean Conflict serving on the battleship USS New Jersey. After the war, he was employed with the Veterans Administration in Gulfport until his retirement. Shorty loved the Gulf Coast. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.

Mr. Pringle Jordan Sr., of Moss Point, Miss., died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Singing River Hospital. He was born
Oct. 24, 1924, in Newton, Miss. Mr. Jordan retired from Ingalls Shipyard after 35 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents Johnnie Jordan, Sr. and Lottie Jordan and step-mother, Ida Mae Jordan; three brothers, Johnnie Jordan Jr., Walter Jordan and Archie Lee Jordan; two sisters, Georgia Nell Moore and Claudia Dee Dukes.

Oscar Bruno McLeod, 40, was born
on Jan. 3, 1965, to Wesley and Cora Lee Biggs-McLeod in Pascagoula, Miss. Affectionately known as Bruno, he entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at 8:32 p.m. in Atlanta, Ga.

Betty Johnston Miller, age 60, of Pascagoula, Miss., died on Aug. 17, 2005, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
MITCHELL
Mrs. Eddie Bell Langley Mitchell, a native of Mobile, Ala. and current resident of Tallahassee, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Westminster Oaks Nursing Facility. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mattie Pippin; husband, Walter Carley Langley; one son, Walter Aaron Langley, Sr.; her grandson, Damien Jenkins; brothers, Clarence Pippin, Clyde Ray Pippin and Charles (Margie) Pippin; sisters, Betty Jean Miller, Clarice and Clara Mae Pippin.

Michael Fredrick Haffey, age 61, died on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at home in Bay St. Louis, Miss. He was a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., and a resident of Bay St. Louis, Miss. Mr. Haffey was a Veteran of the United States Army and a retired bus driver.
JERKINS
By God's grace on August 17, 2005, our Beloved Mother, Viola Ann Jerkins rose with the angels to live forevermore in His house with our brother James. She is already and will forever be missed for her love, kindness and compassion by all who were blessed to know her. A native of Bay Minette, Ala., she graduated high school there, but after devoting her life to a large family, Momma was most proud that at age 54 she returned to college to fulfill her life-long dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. She graced Singing River Hospital until her retirement, where she touched the lives of patients and co-workers alike. Besides her adored son, James David Jerkins, Momma was preceded in death by her parents, Alex Dewis and Anna Pearl McKinley, her brother, Samuel Leroy McKinley and her special friend, Frances Baker. We take comfort in the knowledge of their joyous reunion in Heaven.
JONES
Elmer Eugene "Paw" Jones, age 78, a native and lifelong resident of Orange Grove, Miss., (Jackson County) passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at his residence. Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from International Paper Company -- Moss Point Mill in 1984 after 40 years of service. "Paw" enjoyed blue grass music and had traveled, along with his wife, Helen, all over the country in his pursuit of blue grass. In his later years, he enjoyed "bargain hunting." He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His parents, Pearley Ray and Mary Pierce Jones, brother, Emory Jones, and sister, Frances Aston preceded him in death.
GREENE
Mr. Johnny Walter Greene, 37, of Moss Point, Miss., died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, in Pascagoula, Miss. He was born
July 31, 1968. Mr. Greene had worked for several years as a machine operator with Miller Contracting but was currently employed with Signal International LLC of Pascagoula. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM #202 of Moss Point.
