GIBSON
J.T. Gibson responded to the call of his Heavenly Father on Monday, Dec. 26, 2005. He was the fourth child born icon to the union of the late Wilbert Gibson, Sr. and the late Rebecca McDaniel Gibson in Calhoun, Ala. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 1931.
J.T. accepted Christ as his Savior early in life and was baptized in Ocean Springs, Miss. He was a member, a builder and a continuing participant of The Church of the Living God Pillar and Ground of the Truth in Pascagoula, Miss. He showed his love of God in the many ways that he helped people throughout his lifetime.
J.T. attended Elizabeth Keys High School in Ocean Springs, Miss. In 1954, he began to work with Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula as a Ship Cleaner and worked in various positions before retiring in 1984.
J.T. lived his life to the fullest and the way he wanted. He was a favorite among may people. He always spoke his mind whether you wanted to hear it or not. He had a no-nonsense approach to conversations. He believed in getting to the point and moving on.
His love of life will continue to live in the hearts of his seven daughters, Peggy Ann Gibson of Biloxi, Aletha (John Sr.) Jackson of Biloxi, Carla (George) Baker of New Orleans, La., Rebecca Brownlee of Los Angeles, Ca., Amanda Charlene (Eddie Sr.) Watson and Sedra Felicia (Tommy) Thompson of Gautier and Carolyn Anita Durden of Pascagoula; two sons, Steve Gibson of Pascagoula and Julian Terrell Gibson of Gautier; four brothers, Wilbert (Ella Margaret) Gibson, Jr. of Ocean Springs, Joseph Gibson of Biloxi, Daniel Gibson of Ocean Springs and Ray Gibson of Biloxi; six sisters, Mattie (Lavern) Young and Eillie Mae (Ray) Buxton of Ocean Springs, Dorothy Kemp and Fannie Mae (Wattlee) Kemp of Gulfport and Annie (William) Stamps and Mary Joyce Washington of Ocean Springs; 20 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Wilbert Gibson, Sr. (1990), his mother Rebecca McDaniel Gibson (2003), two daughters Lana Faye Gibson (1986) and Gail Evans Gibson (1988), two sisters Murl Freeman (1980) Pearline Powe (1986) and one brother Louis C. ?.C.?Gibson(1987).Visitation will be at Robinson's Friendly Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m., located at 4301 Main St. in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, located on the corner of Martin Luther King Blvd. and Weed St. in Ocean Springs, Miss.
Burial will be at the Scranton cemetery in Pascagoula, Miss.
Robinson's Friendly Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.

ROSS
Mrs. Joann Hacker Ross, 70, a native of Monroe County, Miss., and a resident of Pascagoula for the past 21 years, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, in Pascagoula. Mrs. Ross attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Moss Point, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ellis Hacker and Geneva H. Burnham; sister Ethel Rea; two brothers, Audie Hacker and Larry Hacker; the father of her children George Kostelansky, Sr.; grandson Kevin Kostelansky; and her husband Robert Ross.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Patricia Williamson, Hillsborough, N.J., Debra (David) Faulkner, Theodore, Ala. and Lee Ann (Johnny) Bucanan, Moss Point; two sons, George (Teresa) Kostelansky, Jr., Susquehanna, Penn. and Joe (Becky) Kostelansky, Belmont, Miss.; 9 sisters, Louise Young, North Chicago, Ill., Ruby Rea, Hamilton, Miss., Jimmie Johnson, Aberdeen, Miss., Mary Hyatt, Moss Point, Martha Gray, Moss Point, Barbara Jones, Lucedale, Miss. and Betty Joiner, Forest, Miss., 3 brothers, Ellis Hacker, Amory, Miss., Robert Hacker, Becker, Miss. and Lynn Hacker, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, at the funeral home from 5p.m. until 8 p.m. Interment will take place in Serenity Memorial Gardens.

THOMPSON
Mrs. Johnnie E. Creekmore Thompson, 72, of Pascagoula, Mississippi died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, in Pascagoula.
She was born icon in DeKalb, Miss. on June 11, 1933. Mrs. Thompson had worked for a number of years at Cinderella Knitting Mill as an inspector and was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Minnie Creekmore, two sisters, Doris Johnson, Bessie Creekmore and one brother, Jessie Hilman Creekmore. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Henry C. Thompson, a retired Pascagoula Police Officer and businessman, son, Henry Douglas (Cathy) Thompson of Wade, Miss., daughter, Freida Thompson Robinson, son, Ricky C. (Beverly) Thompson both of Pascagoula, Miss., sisters, Ruby (Walter) Pace, Shirley (Robert) Blalock, Rita (Willie Ray) Weir all of Meridian, Miss., numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral Services will be Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula.

LEWIS
Mr. Gary B. (Ga-Ga) Lewis, Jr., 39, of Moss Point, Miss. enter into eternal life on Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Singing River Hospital.
He was born icon Aug. 24, 1966, in Pascagoula to Mr. and Mrs. Gary (Dorothy) Lewis, Sr. He was employed at USA Joiner Corp. until his death.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Rudolph and Beatrice Wells; great-grandparents Rev. Sam and Celia Lewis; a baby son and a special cousin Michael Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and caring wife, Brenda R. Lewis; loving mother and father Gary B. and Dorothy Lewis of Moss Point; three daughters, Lakenya McCorvey, Houston, Texas, LaTisha Lewis, Pascagoula and Raven WIlliams, Moss Point; four sons, Daimeyan Stevens, Repton, Ala., Armond Lewis, Dustin Lewis and Alonzo Law of Gautier, Miss.; two sisters, Tonya (Freddie) Cato and Angela Lewis both of Moss Point; five brothers, Roderick Steward, Moss Point; Darnell Sanders, Carnell and Ben Sanders all of Pascagoula and Daryl Thompson of Atlanta, Ga.; grandparents Benard and Rannie Lewis of Moss Point; two grandchildren De'Asia WIlliams and Ny'Dria WIlliams both of Moss Point; four uncles, special uncle Floyd (Melissa) Wells, Randolph (Agnes) Wells, Richard Wells and Samuel Wells, three aunts, Ruby Cook, Barbara Gordan and Sandra Lewis; two great aunts, Sarah Harris and Ester Bovines; other relatives; family and friends.
Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church on Dr. Martin Luther King St., Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral Services will begin at 12 noon from the church.
Interment will be in Machpelah cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.
All arrangements entrusted to Millender's Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss.

VERBEKE
Mr. William "Billy" Edward Verbeke, Jr., 84, of the Movella Community, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, in George County, Miss. Mr. Verbeke was a longtime resident of Moss Point and later moved to George County where he had resided happily for the past fourteen years.
He retired from International Paper Company as a shipping clerk and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Verbeke was a 50 year member of the Moss Point Masonic Lodge #202.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alice Verbeke, Sr. and brother, Roy Verbeke.
Survivors include, daughter, Beverly (Eddie) Williams of Big Point, Miss., sons, William "Bubba" Verbeke III of the Movella Community, Richard (Sherry) Verbeke of Hurley, Miss., daughter, Sheila (John) McAdams of Hurley, Miss., step-daughter, Nelda Davidson, three grandchildren, William Pack and Brandon Williams of Big Point, Miss., Jamie Bosarge of Germany, one brother, Carl (Etta Mae) Verbeke of Moss Point, Miss., a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral Services will be Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at 10 a.m. from Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at Union cemetery in Moss Point with Masonic Graveside Rites.

GARRETT
Mrs. Luebirda Bolton Garrett of Moss Point, Miss., departed this life on April 15, 2006, at the age of 80. She was born icon to the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnny (Rosetta) Bolton in Beaumont, Miss. Mrs. Garrett accepted Christ at an early age and was confirmed in her faith at Leaf Baptist Church in Ben Joe, Miss. After moving to Moss Point, Miss. she later united with St. Peter's Baptist Church in Pascagoula, Miss., where she was a faithful and loyal member and served with the Pastor's Aid Auxiliary. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She had a passion for gardening, reading and attending bible study.
Lue, as she was affectionately called by all who knew and loved her, was preceded in death by husbands, James Galloway and Edward Lee Garrett; parents, Johnny S. (Rosetta) Bolton; two brothers, Aljea and Johnny James Bolton; and one sister, Neloise Bolton.
She is survived by five sons; James A. (Thelma) Galloway of Farmington Hills, Mich., Jackie Ray Garrett and Graylyn Bolton both of Moss Point, Rev. Aljea (Bertiste) Garrett of Nashville, Tenn. and Raffort (Sharon) Garrett of Fort Worth, Texas; six daughters, Cozetta Wood, Gloretha Garrett and Sarah (Alvin) Smith all of Moss Point, Sandra (William) Parker of Nashville, Tenn., Valerie Garrett of Atlanta, Ga., and Tammie Garrett of Decatur, Ga.; one brother, Houston (Velma) Bolton of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Mildred Bolton of Moss Point, and Viola (Nas) Bolton of Benndale, Miss.; one sister-in-law, Vanner P. Bolton of Moss Point; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be missed by special friends of the family, Julia Budro, Mary Ellen Hutchins, Chester Anderson and Harvey Moore.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 19, 2006, from 10 a.m. until noon with funeral services starting at noon at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 3913 Machpelah Road, Moss Point, Miss., with Rev. W. H. Marshall, pastor of St. Peter's Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in First Baptist cemetery, Moss Point, Miss.

O'MARY
Barbara Joyce O'Mary, 71, of Gautier passed away on Monday, April 17, 2006, at her home. She was born icon July 11, 1934, in New Orleans, La., and has been a longtime resident of Jackson County, Miss. Mrs. O'Mary graduated from Our Lady of Victories High School in 1952 and was of the Catholic faith. She retired from Coastal Chemical as an administrative assistant and was currently a secretary in the surgical department of Singing River Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Sandifer Sr. and Rita Sandifer and brother, Warren S. Sandifer.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Clayton Edward O'Mary, Gautier; two brothers and one sister, Harvey Sandifer Jr., of California, Bruce Sandifer (Lynn), Covington, La., Brenda Sandifer Juneau (Rene') Harvey, La.; brother-in-law, Lonnie O'Mary (Betty Carol), Semmes, Ala.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 20, 2006, 6 until 8 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Miss.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 21, 2006, 11 a.m., at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, Miss.
Interment will follow at Machpelah cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.

COWART
Adine Williams Cowart, age 89, of Pascagoula, Miss., died April 13, 2006, in Spanish Meadows Nursing Home in Katy, Texas. She was born icon July 22, 1916, in Columbia, Miss. to Jabus Augustus and Emma Jane Burt Williams.
Adine, for over 25 years, was the owner-operator of both the Cowart Garden Center and the Cowart's Flower Shop. She retired in 1992 to care for her sister, Gay Thornhill. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church as well as such organizations as the Kidney Foundation, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Elks Ladies Auxiliary, the Senior Citizens Center, the Battered Women's Shelter and the Krewe of Tri-Cities. She was named the Outstanding Citizen of Jackson County in the late 1980s for her charitable activism. Her hobbies included the caring of others and cultivation of many species of plants and flowers.
Mrs. Cowart was preceded in death by her husband, Burleigh Cowart, in 1971 as well as her six siblings, Clyde Williams, Burt Williams, Ted Williams, Velma Hemba, Bruce Williams and Gay Thornhill.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Virginia Williams; nephews, Tom Thornhill, James Williams, Cary Williams, Harry Williams, Jon Williams, Burt Williams and three nieces, Jane Williams, Sylvia Newsom and Sujane Williams, and their extended families. Special family friends include Walt and Robbie Perez.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. The funeral service will follow from the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Kates officiating.
Interment will be at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Thornhill, Barrett Thornhill, Bernard Clark, Skipper Williams, Dane Maxwell and Nicky Maxwell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund at the First United Methodist Church whose sanctuary was destroyed during Hurricane Katrina.

COX
Our loving father, Lamar (Toady) Cox passed away peacefully on April 13, 2006, at his son's home. Lamar was born icon in Pascagoula, Miss., to Pedro W. Cox Sr. and Mary Cox on Oct. 26, 1924. He worked at the International Paper Company for 28 years until his retirement in 1979. Lamar is a graduate of Pascagoula High School and served our country for three years in the U. S. Navy. On Oct. 16, 1955, Lamar married icon Bobbie Jean Womack in Pascagoula. Lamar was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1605 in Pascagoula. He is Past Grand Knight of the local council, Past Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree and Past State Master for the State of Mississippi for the Knights of Columbus.
Lamar was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Bobbie.
He is survived by his four children, son Jack and Patty Cox of Charlotte, N.C.; daughters Teri and Ed Kiss of Fairbanks, Ark., Carol and Fred Perry of Corryton, Tenn., and Orlene and Tim Lucas of Roswell, N.M. He also has four grandchildren, Jon Cox of South Carolina, Jeremy Cox of Knoxville, Tenn., and Alex and Ashlyn Lucas of Roswell, N.M. He has three surviving sisters, Mercedes, Gwendolyn and Marie and special family friend Marion Bishop of Pascagoula.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula with Father White officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jon and Jeremy Cox, Alex Lucas, Michael, Steven and Kevin Bishop. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvie Walker, Tunny Blackwell and Tony Poole. He will have a 4th Degree Honor Guard of the Knights of Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Bobbie Cox.
