in New Orleans, La. She was the beloved wife of the late Melvin J. "Mel" Woods Jr., of Slidell. She was the mother of Tonya M. Woods; son-in-law, Jeffery M. Hebert of Slidell, Teresa R. Woods; son-in-law, Michael Woodard of Lucedale, Miss.; Tiffany L. Woods; son-in-law, Anthony James Soileau of Washington, La.; Tracy C. Woods; son-in-law, J. Erick Sharp of Folsom, La.; Pvt. First Class Woods, DJ; Kyle R. Woods and Kody H. Woods of Slidell. She was the "Nana" of Jake, Alexis, and Zander Hebert; Aaron, Andrew, and Austin Woods; Sophia, Nicholas, "Tony", Andre, and Anne Marie Soileau; and Kaylee and Brennan Sharp. She was the daughter of Robert J. Dumestre and Nancy Whittington Dumestre of Lacombe, La. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Melvin J. Woods Sr. and A. Lorraine C. Woods. She was the sister of Harry R. Dumestre of Lacombe and Wendy Sigrest of Hammond, La. She was the sister-in-law to Tina L. Dumestre and Linda W. Reed. She was the aunt of Greg, Stephanie and Brian Sigrest; Josh and Courtney Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and many devoted friends.

Dec. 25, 1946, to the late Willie Hill Sr. and Mae Ruth Hill. She was a member of Lily Grove Baptist and president of the usher board. She was retired from Northrop Grumman after 31 years as a first class pipefitter.

on Aug. 14, 1920, in Coffeeville, Ala. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired Pipeline Inspector and served in the U.S. Navy during 1943-1945.

on May 8, 1927, in Buffalo, Ind., Jesse loved to square dance, loved to travel. He also loved his dog, Lassie.

Amos Benjamin Henry passed away of Feb. 2, 2008, of melanoma cancer. Mr. Henry was a veteran of the Korean War and a retiree of the City of Pascagoula.

Dr. Findlay George Maier, 71, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away on Feb. 5, 2008, surrounded by his family and dear friends. A native of New Orleans, La. Dr. Maier attended Tulane University and LSU School of Medicine. He married
Dr. Alice Louise Hull on Dec. 27, 1961, and together they raised six children.
PATRICK
Coach Leslie A. Patrick was born
in Mobile, Ala., on June 25, 1925, and was the sixth of seven children. He graduated Murphy High School before joining the Air Force where he served as a flight engineer during WWII. After his service, Coach Patrick attended Spring Hill College where he earned degrees in math, science, and history, and was a four year starter and captain of the baseball team. But his most important accomplishment there was meeting his wife of 51 years, Anna Louise Davis. Coach Patrick taught mechanical drawing, trigo-nometry, geometry, calculus and physics but his passion was coaching football at Our Lady of Victory High School in Pascagoula, Miss., where he coached for 20 years. He went on to teach and coach at Moss Point High School, Live Oak Academy in Moss Point, Miss., and Gautier Junior High. In 1982, he switched careers and went to work at Ingalls Shipbuilding as a Weight Control Engineer and retired in 1988. Coach Patrick was a man of many passions. He will always be remembered for his wit and charm, the songs he sang and the stories he told. He was very proud of his family, whom he loved and cherished, as well as interested in the well being of others. He will be sorely missed by all those he touched in his life. Coach Patrick was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moss Point.
