Jon O'Blythe Allen

Jon O'Blythe Allen passed away on April 23, 2008 in Biloxi. Blythe was born icon March 5, 1952, in Biloxi and was a resident of Ocean Springs at the time of her death. She graduated from Sullivan Central High School, Blountville, Tennessee and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, (Perkinston Campus), the University of Mississippi and received a degree in recreational therapy from the University of South Alabama. During her life, she lived and worked around the world and was able to visit all seven continents. Her last employment was with Norwegian Cruise Lines, serving as systems manager on cruise vessels. She enjoyed traveling, pool and visiting with her numerous friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William R. Allen, Jr. and Cornelia Marion Allen.
Survivors include her brothers, William R. Allen, III and his companion Linda Gilbrecht, David Marion Allen and his wife, Mary Ruth Allen nieces, Marion Allen and Christina Allen, nephew David St. John Allen and cousin Lynn Duncan Munroe.
A celebration of life will be held in May 2008. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Lung Association of MS, P.O. Box 9865, Jackson, MS 39286.

Virginia Joy Atkinson

Mrs. Virginia Joy Atkinson, age 82, of Biloxi, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 in Latimer.
Virginia was a native of Los Angeles and had been a resident of Biloxi for forty three years. She was a homemaker, a member of the Episcopalian Church and a loving mother and wife.
Mrs. Atkinson was preceded in death by her husband of fifty two years, Bernard A. Atkinson and her parents, William and Naomi Stroud Chesworth.
Survivors include her daughters, Nancy J. Franklin of North Biloxi and Mary C. (Tony) Smith of Vancleave; sons, Charles R. (Darline) Atkinson of Vancleave, James P. Atkinson, David M. (Irma) Atkinson, Bernard A. Atkinson, Jr., Daniel P. (Yumina) Atkinson and Gary J. Atkinson all of North Biloxi; ten grandchildren, including Anthony S. Cookingham, Kenneth J. Franklin, Mandy M. Franklin, Justin M. Franklin, Jessie M. Smith, Daniel P. Atkinson, Jr. and Brian L. Atkinson and six great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to Dr. Richard Smith and Dr. David W. Bonderer.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 in the chapel of the funeral home. 2:00 p.m. Graveside service at Sunset Gardens cemetery in Laurel, MS.

James B. Adcock

Mr. James Brudoc Adcock, 82, of Gulfport, MS died Saturday, March 12, 2005, in Gulfport.
Mr. Adcock was born icon in Neshoba County, MS and had been a resident of Gulfport for 61 years. He was a member of Gulf Gardens Baptist Church. Mr. Adcock served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He was a former Chief of the Gulfport Auxiliary Police Department and a former auxiliary deputy with the Harrison County Sheriff's Office. Mr. Adcock retired 15 years ago from civil service at the Navy Seabee Base in Gulfport and since retirement has been employed with Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Thomas Adcock; his mother, Zula Gamblin Adcock; twin brother, Samuel Rudolph Adcock; his sister, Lois I. Hill and a daughter, Linda Susan Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Steele Adcock; four daughters, Pamela J. Raybourn, Donna J. Russell, Carol Ann Adcock and Lori A. Guardia all of Gulfport; five grandsons, Kevin B. Smith, Randy R. Smith, Caleb Guardia, Faron O'Neil and Jacob Daquioag and two great grandchildren, Carlyle Steele Smith and Rhet Davidson Smith,
Visitation will be Monday, March 14, 2005, from 1:30 till 2:30 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. A procession will leave the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. going to Evergreen cemetery for graveside services.

Amelia Ashley

Amelia Smith Ashley, 77, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Thursday, March 3, 2005.
Mrs. Ashley was a native of Springfield, Ill. and has resided on the coast for 30 years. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Ashley, and is survived by six sisters, Wanda Ely, husband Andrew, Leona Blake, Mary Redding, Theresa Lewis, Helen Ely-Granados and her husband Reynaldo and Caroline Dietrich, two brothers, Andrew Ely, and John Ely, wife Bernadette, sister-in-law, Leona Bottom, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Howard Ave. Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Tuesday March 8, 2005 from 9am-10am, with service to follow at 10 am. Burial will be at Biloxi National cemetery.

Dianne Marie Anderson

Dianne Marie Anderson, 48, of Biloxi died Friday, August 3, 2007 in Ocean Springs, MS.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi. She was a Catholic.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy Uchello and Agnes Rouse Uchello.
Survivors include her husband, Kevin L. Anderson of N. Biloxi, two brothers, Paul Uchello and Carlos Uchello both of Biloxi, MS.
In lieu of flowers, family prefer memorials to: The Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501.
Visitation is Friday, August 10, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes.

Charles Anderson

Mr. Charlie "Pus" Anderson, 92, of Biloxi died Sunday, March 18, 2007 .
Mr. Anderson was a native of Arkansas and later moved to the coast in the early 1950's. He worked with his sister and brother-in-law Mary and Jim Myers at the Friendship House.
Charlie owned the Ship-n-Shore, Charlie's Hideaway and The Tic Toc Club. He also ran the Log House Restaurant until it closed .
He loved Travel, Fishing,Piloting, and friends. He was best known for his humor and genorosity.
Charlie is preceded in death by his wife Georgia "Ticcio" Anderson, and his siblings Louise Anderson, David Anderson, and Mary Myers.
He is survived by a daughter Linda Sue Goodhart, of Biloxi; two grandchildren; Whitney Tranchina, of Slidell, LA, and Gregg Goodhart, of Gulfport, and five great-grandchildren; Joshua, Gabrielle, Jacob, Cole, and Riley. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at The Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Long Beach City cemetery. The family would like memorials to go to: The American Diabetes Association 16 Northtown Drive, Suite 100 Jackson, MS 39211 or The American Heart Foundation 50 Court St. Brooklyn, NY 11201-4801.

Clarice Brown Arceneaux

Mrs. Clarice Brown Arceneaux, 80, of Biloxi, MS, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Arceneaux was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi. She was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in D'Iberville.
Mrs. Arceneaux was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Christine Brown, and a brother, James Brown. Survivors include three daughters, Jean Kennedy and her husband, Dennis, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Linda Domme of Biloxi, and Carol Moran and her husband, Shane, of Woolmarket; three sons, Jimmy Brown of Mesa, AZ, David Surrette and his wife, Julia, of Woolmarket, and Kenneth Surrette of Irving, TX; a sister, Elsie Mae Richardson, of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, Harold Brown of Tecumseh, MI; eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 24, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City cemetery.

Leatha Louise Rampey Asman

Mrs. Leatha Louise Rampey Asman, 79, born icon December 26, 1926, in Pensacola, Fla., died Friday, June 2, 2006, in Ocean Springs, MS where she has resided for the last 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Cmdr. George Hardgrave Asman (USN), her eldest child, son John Patrick Asman, her youngest child, daughter Susan Kathryn Asman, her step-granddaughter, Victoria Marie Felts, and her parents, James and Ola Rampey.
Mrs. Asman is survived by her daughter, Sheri Asman Felts of Pascagoula; her sons, Michael Richard Asman of Ocean Springs, and Steven Hardgrave Asman and his wife, Carla, of Mobile, AL; grandson, John Patrick Felts of Pascagoula; granddaughter, Kelly Lynne Asman of Houston, TX; grandson, Christopher James Asman of Mobile, AL, and step-grandson, Harvey Raphael Felts and his wife, Angela, of Charlotte, NC.
After graduating with highest honors from Pensacola High School, Mrs. Asman attended Florida State College for Women (now Florida State University) and then transferred to Duke University on full academic scholarship to complete her degree in nursing. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority and several honor societies at both campuses. While visiting her parents in Pensacola during the Christmas season of 1946, she met her future husband, Naval Academy graduate, LTJG George H. Asman. They were married icon six weeks later on February 15, 1947, and remained devoted to one another until Cmdr. Asman's death in 1983.
Mrs. Asman was a resident of the Gulf Hills neighborhood for twenty-seven years. The Gulf Hills Civic Club, Gulf Coast Dinner Club, Gulf Coast Symphony and Coast Community Concerts were amongst her many social and civic affiliations. She was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church of The Redeemer in Biloxi, served for many years in the St. Agnes Guild and was also a docent for the historical tours of the sancturary and grounds of the nationally registered landmark church. Mrs. Asman has been described by many of her acquaintances as the epitome of the true southern lady. Her graciousness, elegant demeanor, and classic style endeared her to every one fortunate to have known her and she will be greatly missed, but gently remembered, by all.
Due to the destruction of her beloved Church of The Redeemer by Hurricane Katrina, services will be held at the Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. The funeral mass will be officiated by Father Harold F. Roberts on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at 7:30 in the evening. Visitation will commence prior to the service at 6 p.m. Interment will be on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at 1:15 p.m. at Fort Barancas National cemetery, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida.
Pallbearers will be sons, Michael and Steven; grandsons, Patrick, Christopher and Raffe, and Harvey C. Felts. Honorary Pallbearers are Deborah Felts, Sherrie Duncan, Katie Redding, Teresa Moore, and Jessica Riley.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest appreciation to Mrs. Gloria Pearson of Mobile, mother-in-law of Steven Asman, who graciously provided both sancutuary and tender care to Mrs. Asman for several weeks following the destruction of her Gulf Hills home by Katrina.

Mary Elizabeth Allen

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Allen, age 81, of Biloxi, MS., died Saturday, December 17, 2005, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Allen was a lifelong resident of the community. She was active and faithful in the Back Bay Mission and the Christus Victor Lutheran church. She was also active in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her daughter, Lee Anna Tesch, son, Elmer Allen, and her parents, Hamp and Angele Carroll.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Overton A. Allen, son, Paul Allen and wife, Mary, all of Biloxi, two sisters, Vivian Carroll and Otlia Rosemurphy, both of Biloxi, two brothers, Peter Carroll of Torrance, CA., and Preston Carroll of Quincy, MA., eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM, with a 9:30 AM chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS., 39507.
