NETTLES
Mr. William O'Neal Nettles Sr., 71, a resident of Moss Point, Miss., slipped into eternal rest on September 27, 2007, at Singing River Hospital
He was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon Woodrow Nettles and Mrs. Ollie Lee Nettles of Beatrice, Ala.; both sons, infant. Edward Lavoyd Nettles and Staff Sgt. William O'Neal Nettles, Jr. of the United States Marine Corps; his oldest grandchild, Mr. Deric Lavoyd Johnson; and his son-in-law, Coach Willie Gray Sr.
Mr. Nettles was educated in the Monroe County, Ala., school system having attended Monroe County Training School, now J.F. Shields High Scholl in Beatrice, Ala. He was employed at Mississippi Chemical Corp. in Pascagoula, Miss., as a Bagging and Shipping Supervisor. He retired from that position after 24 years upon closure of the company. He later worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding as a carpenter until his health began to fail. As a young man he united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Natchez (Red Hills), Ala. Upon moving to Moss Point united with First Missionary Baptist Church.
Special moment and cherished memories are left to his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Vida Crawford Nettles of Moss Point, Miss.; his daughters, Veronica Nettles-Gray of Moss Point, Miss., LaMonica Nettles of Lithonia, Ga., Barbara Shabazz of Tampa, Fla., and a God-daughter, Cynthia Reed of Moss Point, Miss. He is also survived by a caring brother, Robert Odom Sr. of Mobile, Ala, and a devoted sister, Bertha Nettles of Birmingham, Ala.; a caring daughter-in-law, Deborah N. Tyrus of Mobile, Ala. He was loved dearly by his grandchildren, Marcus (Keshia) Johnson of Gautier, Miss., Tiffany (Bobby Daughtry) Johnson of Pascagoula, Miss., Sanyika Nettles of Dallas, Texas, Ingrid (Keith) Poindexter of Hoover, Ala., Shemega (Patrick) Brown of Mobile, Ala., and Taylor Monet Andrews of Lithonia, Ga.; 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends
Viewing will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 4600 Main St., Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will begin promptly at 1 p.m. from the church.
Interment will be in Machpelah cemetery, Pascagoula, Miss.
All arrangement entrusted to Millender's Funeral Home, Moss Point, Miss.

TANNER
Carolyn Marie Tanner, 68, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Ocean Springs Hospital, Ocean Springs, Miss.
born in Lucedale, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Ralph and the late Audrey (Tanner) Kyle. Mrs. Tanner was a resident of the Tanner Williams Community.
She was a retired teacher assistant, employed by Jackson County School System, a member of the Eastern Star and attended the New Life Church, Moss Point Miss.
Survivors include her husband, Dempsey Tanner, Wilmer, Ala.; a daughter, Lisa (Grady) Western, Big Point, Miss.; a son, Anthony (Brenda) Tanner, Big Point; brothers, Mitchell Kyle, Mobile, Ala., and Alvin Kyle of N.C.; sisters, Helen Rabby, Big Point, and JoAnn Hall, Theodore, Ala.; grandsons, Tony Tanner, and Garrison Western, both of Big Point; granddaughter, Blakeli Tanner, and Tanner Western, both of Big Point.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sigler Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Oct. 4, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Lavoy Hart will conduct the services.
Interment will follow in the Howell cemetery, Lucedale.

Northeimer
Kenneth K. Northeimer, Sr., 90, died on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Essa Flory Hospice Center where he was surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Washburn Northeimer, to whom he was married icon 61 years.
He was born icon on Aug. 13, 1917 in Eagle, Chester County. His father was J. Charles Northeimer and his mother was Sarah Keenen Northeimer. He was the last of a family of four brothers and seven sisters.
As a United States Marine, he fought in the Pacific during World War II. He served for the duration of the war in the First Battalion of Carlson's Raiders.
He owned and operated his own painting and paperhanging business and later delivered fuel oil for Witmer Company, Inc., Way Oil Company, and Musselman Lumber Company.
In addition to his wife Gloria, he is survived by three children, Doris Craver, fiancée of Willie Cruso, III of Pascagoula, Miss., Audrey Karlesky, wife of Joseph Karlesky of Lancaster, and Kenneth K. Northeimer, Jr., husband of Doris Reeder Northeimer of Lancaster. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Laura Craver, Christopher Karlesky, Matthew Karlesky, Joshua Northeimer, husband of Lisa Keim Northeimer, and Kaitlyn Northeimer, by four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Tyler, and Hunter Craver and Tucker Northeimer, and by many nieces and nephews who were part of his loving extended family.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Holland and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 E. Main St., New Holland, PA 17557 with The Reverend Jeffrey Pretz officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.. Please note that due to the New Holland Fair, those traveling from Lancaster will need to take Route 23 to New Holland, turn left on Custer Ave, right on W. Conestoga St., Right on N. Railroad Ave. and then left on to E. Main St. to get to the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Trinity Lutheran Church (address above) or Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.

GAUTIER
Msgt. James Donovan Gautier, Jr., age 88, of Ocean Springs, Miss. died Sept. 28, 2007, in Collins, Miss. He was born icon Feb. 28, 1919, in Kreole, Miss. Mr. Gautier served during World War II and the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 21 years of dedicated service. During WWII, he was captured and was a POW for 312 years. He survived the infamous Bataan Death March. After returning to civilian life, he became involved with the Civil Air Patrol and retired as a Lt. Commander. Later in his life, he co-authored a book "I Came Back From Bataan" with Robert Whitmore. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Gautier, Masonic Lodge No. 202, Eastern Star No. 37, a life member of V.F.W. Post 3373, and the American Legion of Pascagoula.
Mr. Gautier was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mattie Gautier; a sister, Mary Agnes Gautier, and son-in-law, Robert T. Mills.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Emmie Gautier of Ocean Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Shirley Gautier of Pascagoula, Doug and Patty Gautier of Hurley, Miss.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Grace Mills of Moss Point, Miss., Diane and Dennis Gandy of Moss Point; one brother, Walter (June) Gautier of Long Beach; two sisters, Gertrude (Dave) Johnson of Hernando, Fla. and Emily Dodson of Mobile, Ala.; nine wonderful grandchildren, Terri (Robert) Pinson, Tami M. Stuart, Traci (Mark) Kantor, Christy (John) Dickerson, Cindy (Derek) Pearce, Brian (Lani) Gautier, Allison Gautier, Clark Gautier and Clay Gautier; ten precious great-grandchildren, and many sweet, loving and caring neighbors.
Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, from First United Methodist Church of Gautier with Rev. Ron Stanley and Rev. M.L. McCormick officiating.
Interment will follow at Crestlawn cemetery in Ocean Springs, Miss. with full Military honors at the graveside. Active pallbearers will be Mickey Baxter, Michael Baxter, Mitch Cirlot, Claude "Diego" Stauter and Sam Stauter. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the 27th Bomb Group.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Building Fund of First United Methodist Church of Gautier.

LEE
Mrs. Nellie Ruth Lee, of Fort Worth, Texas, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007, in a local hospital.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her children, Elizann Murray (Anthony), Minister Ann Williams, Evangelist Nellie Lee, Naomi Lee, Aaron, Johnny, Jerry, Willie Edward and Junius Lee, Jr.; sister, Rosie Cobb; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life was held Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 958 E. Baltimore St. Fort Worth with Pastor R. E. Francis officiating.
Burial was held at Cedar Hill Memorial Park.

POOLE
Patricia Idilene Ryan Poole, 57, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at her home in the Franklin Creek Community of Jackson County. She was born icon Aug. 25, 1950, in Pascagoula, Miss. Mrs. Poole was employed in the pharmacy of Wal-Mart in Pascagoula and was a member of the Moss Point congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Mr. Charles Ryan and Mrs. Wonette Ryan Cochran; her sister, Carol Harris and a niece, Judith Ann Harris.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. Henry Poole of Franklin Creek; a daughter, Morgan Landry of Franklin Creek; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Janet Ryan of Daphne, Ala.; nephew, Kenny Harris of Oxford, Miss.; brother-in-law, R.K. Hardy of Big Point, Miss., and a niece, Missy Harris of Pascagoula.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at 2 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Moss Point.

ARCENEAUX
Mrs. Mildred Marie Arceneaux, 92, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, in Pascagoula.
Mrs. Arceneaux was born icon Nov. 29, 1914, in Erath, La., to the late Clobule and Emetille Nunez. She had been a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1933.
She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Moss Point, Miss., VFW Post 6731 North Biloxi Auxiliary and American Legion Post 33 Biloxi Auxillary. She was a seamstress and enjoyed playing bingo. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Eula Dronet; a brother, Walter Nunez; son-in-law, Harry L. Krebs and a niece, Ruby Boudreaux.
She is survived by one son, George O. Porter and his wife, Marie of Gautier, Miss.; two daughters, Janel Krebs of Pascagoula, and Glynda Rasco and her husband, Byron of Robertsdale, Ala.; a sister, Esma Rochelle of Kaplan, La.; a nephew, Curney Dronet of Erath; seven grandchildren, Clifton Porter, Tommy Porter, Tammy Lynde, Mary Anne Krebs, Beth Krebs, Chad Parks and Kyle Rasco; nine great-grandchildren and a 10th soon to be born; four great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with Rosary recited at 11:15 a.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Father Mike Austin will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula.
Pallbearers will be Clifton Porter, Tommy Porter, Jeff Lynde, Chad Parks, Kyle Rasco and Mark Fondren.

MARTIN
Joyce Pat Martin, 72, a former longtime resident of Gautier, Miss., died Sept. 21, 2007, in Toccoa, Ga. She was retired in 1994 from the Manpower Planning and Physical Progress group of Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Miss.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert C. Martin; a daughter, Connie Lurlean Martin; her mother, Lurlean Webb; her father, J.C. Webb; and stepmother, Edna Carter Webb.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Faith and Mike Hopkins of Toccoa; a son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Sheila Martin of Birmingham, Ala.; five granddaughters, Ashley and Courtney Hopkins, Tori, Carlye and Taylor Martin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Janice Webb of Laurel, Miss., and Randall and Dorothy Webb of Petal, Miss.; one sister-in-law, Annie Perry and a brother-in-law, Milford F. (Buck) Martin of Pine Bluff, Ark.; numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Moss Point, Miss. Friends may call one hour prior to service time.
Graveside services and interment of Mrs. Martin and ashes of her late husband Robert C. Martin will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Rex Foster, Billy Lofton, Clay Webber, Jerry Barlow, John Barlow and Jack Roberts.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials sent to the Lottie Moon Mission offering of either First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 37, Gautier, MS 39553 or Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1100 South Big A Road, Toccoa, GA 30577.

MILLER
Ms. Mona K. Redmond Miller, 49, of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at her residence. born icon Feb. 5, 1958, in Pascagoula, she was a life long resident of Jackson County. Mona was employed at the Dodge Store in Gautier, Miss., at the time of her death. She was a member of the Catholic faith and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Glenda M. Beyer on April 6, 2007.
Among her survivors are two sons, Scottie Lee Miller and his wife, Wanda of Taylorsville, Miss., Donald Brad Miller Jr. and his wife, Brook, of Pascagoula; a daughter, Samantha Hunter of Pascagoula; her father, Buck Redmond and his wife, Bonnie, of Hurley, Miss., her step-father, Wayne Beyer of Moss Point, Miss.; two brothers, Mike Redmond and his wife, Jackie, of Gautier, Jay Redmond of Gautier; a sister, Susan Timmerman and her husband, Carl of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Jessica Stroop, Kailey Hunter, Carmyn Miller, Ty Miller, Gage Miller, Brianna Miller and Brandon Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, from the Chapel of O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Services are under the direction of O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home of Pascagoula.

SHOEMATE
Mrs. Gladys Ducksworth Shoemate was born icon April 18, 1925, and departed this life on Monday, Sept. 24, 2007.
She leaves to cherish her memories six children, Deacon Joseph (Shirley) Shoemate of Irvington, Ala., Josephine Shoemate of Pascagoula, Miss., Rachel (James) Fosselman of Atlanta, Ga., Jerry Shoemate of Moss Point, Miss., Loretta Shoemate of Jackson, Miss., Beverly Shoemate of Moss Point; two brothers, E.L. (Mazie) Ducksworth, Oree (Martha) Ducksworth; four sisters, Vanita (Curtis) Bolton of Laurel, Miss., Naomi Coleman of Jackson, Ruby (Lee Dale) Veal of Jackson, Ellawese Gunns of Jackson; 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 8420 E. Alba St., Bayou La Batre, Ala.
Small Mortuary Inc. of Theodore, Ala., is in charge of arrangements.

BALLOW
William "Bill" Anson Ballow Jr., 90, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at George Regional Medical Center, Lucedale, Miss. born icon in Marengo County, Ala., on Aug. 21, 1917, he was the son of the late William Anson Ballow Sr. and the late Rebecca (Torbert) Ballow.
Mr. Ballow owned Ballow Motors automobile dealership on Main Street in Lucedale for 20 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 54 years, a former member of the Lucedale Rotary Club, and was instrumental in establishing the Lucedale Country Club and Golf Course. In its early years, Mr. Ballow, played a major role in the development of the Lucedale Boy Scout.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nelda Parmer Ballow; grandson, Derrel Tucker; five brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Wilkinson Ballow of Lucedale; daughter, Karen (Realus) Tucker of Crystal Springs, Miss.; son, William Parmer "Billy" (Jennie) Ballow of Lucedale; three grandsons, Stacey (Victoria) Ballow, Shane (Tiffany) Ballow, Thad Tucker; two stepsons, Tom Shaw and George Shaw; two stepdaughters, Nancy Shaw, Laurie Shaw Wilson; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sigler Funeral Home Inc., Lucedale and Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Lucedale.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, at 11 a.m. from First United Methodist of Lucedale, 311 Main Street, Lucedale, Miss.
Interment will follow in the Magnolia cemetery, Lucedale. Rev. Bill Poole will conduct the services.
