JONES
Eunice Mary (Millender) Jones was born icon on Sept. 3, 1924, in Peterman, Ala., to Mary Ellen Hamilton and Frank Stanton. She was raised with and is survived by her older sister, Maggie Hamilton. They were also raised with their sister-like first cousin, Jannie Bell Fountain.
She developed a close, life-long, loving relationship with her Stanton siblings: (Henry, Macarther, Naomi, Howard, Cora, Roberta, Alice, Lois, Anne Ruth and Charles). Due to her illness she was relocated to Lathrup Village, Mich., under the primary care of her daughter-in-law, Anita, and son, Curtis Millender, until her transition on Oct. 1, 2007.
She cherished her life as a follower of Christ beginning as a child, when she joined The Amity Baptist Church in Tunnel Springs, Ala. After moving to Moss Point, Miss., she joined Antioch Baptist Church of Pascagoula, Miss., and moved to New Zion Church of Moss Point. Later, she moved to Escatawpa, Miss., and continued her earthly spiritual journey as a member of The Greater First Baptist Church until her Spiritual Transition.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at First Baptist Church, 4600 Main St., Moss Point.
Funeral Services will begin promptly at 11 a.m. from the church with Rev. Richard Young officiating.
Interment will be in First Baptist cemetery, Escatawpa.
All arrangements entrusted to Millender's Funeral Home, Moss Point.

BOWLIN
George Robert Bowlin, 65, of Lucedale, Miss., entered eternal life at his residence on Monday, Oct. 1, 2007. He was born icon on Sept. 3, 1942, in Gadsen, Ala.
He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of dedicated service. He lived in the area since 2005, coming from Ashville, Ala. He cherished his family and friends, enjoyed gardening and fishing, and was an avid Crimson Tide fan as well.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Mable Bowlin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Carol Bowlin of Lucedale; one son, Duane Lee (Ellen) Bowlin, also of Lucedale; one daughter, Debra Ann Richardson, Southside, Ala.; six grandchildren, Robert Lee Bowlin, Chad Anthony Richardson, Shane Christopher Bowlin, Jason Michael Bowlin, Catharine Amanda Baker, and Lexi Chayanne Bowlin; four great-grandchildren, Jackson Colby, Chloe Alexandria, Jalyn Elizabeth, and Nichalous Gavyn.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at 5 p.m., in the Chapel of Coastal Funeral Home.

KAY
Mr. Rufus Kay, 81, of Port St. Joe, Fla., but recently of Pascagoula, Miss., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, in Pascagoula. He was born icon in Ashford, Ala., on Sept. 11, 1926. Mr. Kay was a long-time paper mill employee, and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Faith Bible Church in Port St. Joe.
Mr. Kay leaves loving memories to his daughters, Jackie Kay Humphries and Patricia Kay of Georgia; his brothers, Thomas Earl Kay of Florida and John (Sarah) Kay of Dothan, Ala.; his sister, Nell Morgan of Pascagoula; a special lady friend and companion in Port St. Joe; and numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Kay is reunited with his loving parents, Vester and Ada Lee Kay and a brother, Pat Kay.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Jackson County Memorial Park of Pascagoula.
Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home of Escatawpa, Miss., locally owned and operated.
There will be a memorial service held at Faith Bible Church in Port St. Joe at a later date.

KNIGHT
Rhonda Lynne (Stone) Knight, 50, passed away quietly at her home in Big Creek, Miss., after complications pursuant to congestive heart emphysema.
born to Charles and Betty Stone of Pascagoula, Miss., at the "old hospital," Rhonda leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband of 20 years, David Stephen (Steven) Knight also of Big Creek; two sons, Victor E. Dearman Jr. of Portage, Mich., and Brandon D. Dearman, (Lauren) Pelahatchie, Miss.; three grandchildren; granddaughters, Lindsey Dearman of Portage and Serena Dearman of Pelahatchie and grandson, Johnathan Dearman of Portage. She is also survived by her sister, Charlene Wiggins (Bob) of Pascagoula and by her brother, Terrill (Terry) W. Stone (Pam) of Grand Bay, Ala.; sister-in-law, Tonya Spivey (John) and mother-in-law, Bea Knight of Pascagoula; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles D. Stone and Betty C. Stone, Pascagoula; brother, James D. Stone Sr., Grand Bay and sister-in-law, Karen Pate (Terry), Pelahatchie. Rhonda was a loving and giving person.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, crafts and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a great love for people and animals. She was always trying to help any wounded or stray animal and any person in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially by her best friend, confidant, caregiver, constant companion and only love, her husband, Steve Knight (whom Rhonda affectionately called "Stephen J" and "PawPaw).
A visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Tucker officiating.
A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Centerville Baptist Church cemetery in Jones County, Miss.

MAY
Alma Vivian Thornbury May, 89, died early on the morning of Oct. 1, 2007, in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born icon on July 9, 1918, in Montgomery, Ala., but made Jackson County her home since 1955. She was a retired bookkeeper having worked for Dr. Wallace Calhoun and Dr. Clyde Gunn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Raymond and Alma Tresslar Thornbury; her husband of 55 years, Duncan May; sister, Mary Nash Thornbury Jones; brothers, Richard Thornbury and George Merton Thornbury.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Duncan Edward and Elena May, Joseph Douglas and Sarah May, all of Moss Point, Miss., and Michael Stuart and Marietta May, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Maria (Jeff) Walden, Susan (Kevin) Stachowski, Amy (Ray) Brown, Dixie (Tony) McCormack, all of Moss Point, Robyn (Joseph) Upton of Brandon, Jeffrey (Gina) May of Mobile, Ala., and Brian Desmond May, of Atlanta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Patrick Dickson, Sarah Helen and Margaret Walden, Kevin Chester Jr. and Christina Stachowski, Emma, Raymond and Anna Catherine Brown, Breanna, Gracie, Anthony, and Katie Mae McCormack, all of Moss Point and Gillian May of Mobile; one brother, Joseph R. Thornbury of Montgomery; a brother-in-law, James P. Jones of Auburn, Ala.; and a sister-in-law, Betty Thornbury of Montgomery.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moss Point for 52 years, an avid gardener, bird watcher, and a fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball team.
Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Mass of the Resurrection to begin at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Michael Austin.
Interment will be in Griffin cemetery in Moss Point.
The family requests donations to be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Bobby McDowell, 49, of Bay Saint Louis, Miss., died Sept. 28, 2007.
Visitation service will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at 9 a.m. at the Cowan Funeral Home Chapel in Lucedale, Miss.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Cowan Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be held at Lily Grove cemetery, Lucedale.

HARE
Mrs. Marie V. Krebs Hare, 81, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Hare was born icon Dec. 4, 1925, to the late Leo Francis and Marie Florence Farragut Krebs in Pascagoula. She served as the church secretary for Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church from 1969 to1994. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, reading and spending time with her family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leo Krebs.
She is survived by a son Dr. Michael Hare and his wife Julie of Georgetown, Texas; five daughters, Diane Roth of Pascagoula, Sharon Miller and her husband Leo of Mobile, Ala., Michele Miller of Nashville, Tenn., Cecilia Miles and her husband Tony of Pascagoula, Melissa Stewart and her husband Tim of Pascagoula; two sisters, Katherine Krebs Griffin and her husband Bill of Franklin Creek, Miss., Leona McGinty of Mobile; 15 grandchildren, Meaghan Luther, Sarah Hare, Molly Hare, Cassandra Hare, Aaron Roth, Dr. Allison Roth, Alana Vinson, Claire Miller, Jackson Miller, Hadley Miller, Lauren Miles, Daniel Miles, Whitney Stewart, Ashley Stewart and April Stewart; one great-grandchild, Michael Luther, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bill Griffin, Leo Miller, Tony Miles, Tim Stewart, Jackson Miller, Daniel Miles, Aaron Roth and Ed Fisher will serve as pallbearers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Patrick McDermott as celebrant.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service.
Interment will follow at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula.
In lieu of flowers the gifts in her memory may be made to Resurrection Catholic Schools.

PANNELL
Fay Nell Pannell, 76, of Ocean Springs, Miss., went to heaven surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 30, 2007.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and a long standing active member of Community of Christ Church in Vancleave, Miss.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Tessola Carnley; sister, Aubrey Overstreet and brother, Jerry Carnley.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, George W. Pannell; sons, Dalton (Jania) Pannell and Dwayne Pannell; daughters, Wanda (Ronnie) West and Karen (George) Hudson; brother, Jack (Jennie) Carnley; sisters, Audrey Hibbett and Carol (Fred) Moe; 10 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at Community of Christ Church in Vancleave. Friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. until time of service.
Burial will follow at Community of Christ Church cemetery.
Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.

WHITE
Doris Ellen White, 62, of Moss Point, Miss., passed away Oct. 1, 2007, in Pascagoula, Miss. She was born icon May 3, 1945, in Pascagoula. Doris was a devoted member of East Moss Point Baptist Church, she was a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, choir member and served in numerous other areas of the church. She was a giving volunteer at the Seaman Center and Home of Grace. Doris was employed as a material specialist with Northrop Grumman for 43 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Carter White; mother, Helena Amelia White, and aunt, Edwina Brewer.
Survivors include four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Lenwood and Ann Tillman of Moss Point; Joe and Jean White of Houston, Texas; Angus and Pat White of Hurley, Miss.; Jerry White of Moss Point; nieces and nephews, Lisa (Tom) Rose, Dawn White, Duane White, Daryl and Emily White, Curt and Christie Morse, Brandie White, Heather and Randall Clark, Patrick White, Daniel and Penny White, Rachel White-Hudson, Michael and Trisha White, Melissa and Leroy Green; great nieces and nephews, Brittany Garner, Ashley Morse, Jessica Garner, Bethany Morse, Lexus Cole, Lauren White, Luke White, Landon White, Christopher Hudson, and Harleigh Hudson.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, from East Moss Point Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Hayes and Rev. James V. Miller officiating.
Interment will be at Machpelah cemetery in Pascagoula.

ANDERSON
Memorial service for Elder Otis Lee Anderson will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Basin Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Lucedale, Miss. Superintendent John Monroe, Pastor and Elder Calvin Rudd will officiate the service.
Otis was the father of Yolanda Basinger, Shaun Anderson, both of Hawthone, Calif., Tiffany Anderson and Nicole Anderson of Houston, Texas; the brother of Annie J. Ferrill, Ernest Anderson, James Anderson, all of Lucedale and Freddie Anderson of Richton Park. Ill.

DIXON
Albert Clarence Dixon JR. (AC), 63, of Stateline, Miss., died on Sept. 27, 2007, at his home.
Mr. Dixon was born icon March 12, 1944 and worked at Corning Glass in Pascagoula, Miss., as a Corning Glass maintenance worker. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Wayne County, Miss., and also a member of Mt Moriah Baptist Church in Stateline, Miss.
He is survived by his mother, Mittie Dixon of Stateline; his daughters, Moretta Dixon, Atlanta, Ga., Bernita Dixon, Montgomery, Ala., Willette Dixon, Moss Point, Miss.; sons, Bobby Jackson, Albert Dixon both of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Carrie Mae Denson, Moss Point, Annie Laura Winn, Jackson, Miss., Jackie Woulard, of Chatom, Ala., Savannah Hill, of Jackson, Mittie Louise Bettis, of McIntosh, Ala.; brothers, John L. Dixon, of Jackson, Sandy Dixon of Calvert, Ala., Charles Dixon, of Jackson, Martin Dixon of Citronelle, Ala.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Stateline, Miss. with the Rev. Rankins officiating.
Interment will be in Stateline cemetery following the service.

MOODY
Julia Jackson Moody, 92, of Lucedale, Miss., passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, in Palmetto, Fla. Mrs. Moody was a long standing member of the Lily Grove Baptist Church in Lucedale. She was an active member of the church serving in the senior choir, Home Mission Society and Pastor's Aide Club. She was also a devoted member of the Herions of Jericho.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Moody Sr. and sons, Robert Lee Moody Sr. and Leroy Moody Jr.
She is survived by her son, Henry Lee Moody Sr. and daughter, Louverda Knight, both of Lucedale; 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, from noon until 1 p.m. at Lily Grove Baptist Church in Lucedale.
Funeral service will be held from the church at 1 p.m. with Rev. Willie Kline, officiating.
Burial will follow at Lily Grove Baptist cemetery in Lucedale.
