ROSEBORO -- Mrs. Retha Howell Hall, 84, of 403 W. Clinton St. died Wednesday in Raleigh Community Hospital.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Roseboro Baptist Church by the Rev. Greg Templin. Burial will be in Roseboro Cemetery.

Mrs. Hall is survived by a son, James O. Hall of Raleigh; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Butler Funeral Home.

William I. Enzor Sr. (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

FAIR BLUFF -- William Irvin Enzor Sr., 76, of 392 Irvin Enzor Road died Wednesday in his home.

Mr. Enzor was a farmer before retiring.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Meares Funeral Home chapel by Dr. Ray Lundy. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery.

Mr. Enzor is survived by a son, Irvin Enzor Jr. of Fair Bluff; a brother, S.T. Enzor of Fair Bluff; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Worth B. Elkins (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

CLARKTON -- Worth B. Elkins, 70, of 1662 Page Road died Tuesday in his home.

Mr. Elkins was an Air Force and Army veteran. He was an elder at Clarkton Presbyterian Church and a member of Clarkton Lions Club.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Clarkton Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Simon Scott. Burial will be in Clarkton Cemetery.

Mr. Elkins is survived by his wife, Rachel P. Elkins of Clarkton; two daughters, Victoria E. Nance of Bladenboro and Elizabeth E. High of Clarkton; four sisters, Doris E. Smith of Cary, Emily E. Swinson of Tampa, Fla., Janice E. Nelson of Rocky Mount and Annie E. Woody of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, John D. Elkins of Gastonia and J.B. Elkins of Clarkton; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McKenzie Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to Clarkton Presbyterian Church.

Lewis A. Dillman (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

EDENTON -- The Rev. Lewis Albert Dillman of Edenton died Wednesday.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Pine Forest United Methodist Church in Golodsboro. Arrangements are being handled by Swindell Funeral Home of Hertford.

Among the Rev. Dillman’s survivors are his wife, Dorothy ‘‘Dot’’ Dillman; and a son, David Dillman of Clinton.

James Coleman (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

LUMBERTON -- James Coleman, 50, of 506 E. 15th St. died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by Maultsby & Sons Funeral Home.

John H. Clark Jr. (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

TAR HEEL -- John H. Clark Jr., 82, of 18045 N.C. 87 West died Sunday in Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Second Baptist Church in Fayetteville by the Rev. Ivory E. Swann. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery.

Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Odessa Clark of Tar Heel; a son, Franklin Clark of Fayetteville; two brothers, Sidney Clark of Fayetteville and William Clark of Tar Heel; a sister, Addie Murchinson of Tar Heel; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The public will be received today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home.

Clara Bell Chavis (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Clara Bell Chavis, 65, of 417 Lindsay Drive died Tuesday in Sunbridge Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Pembroke.

Mrs. Chavis was a member of Saddletree Church of God. She was a homemaker.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Saddletree Church of God by the Revs. Millard Maynard, Kenneth Locklear, C.C. Allen Jr. and Steve Edmondson and Eric S. Chavis and Doris Brooks. Burial will be in Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Chavis is survived by three sons, Thomas E. Chavis and Larry Chavis, both of Lumberton and Rocky Chavis of Cleveland, Tenn.; two daughters, Janice C. Goins of Fayetteville and Sharon C. Dunn of Roanoke Rapids; a brother, the Rev. Jack Hunt of Lumberton; a sister, Rachel Smith of Traverse City, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Biggs Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Thomas E. Chavis, 445 Country Club Drive, Lumberton.

Raymond W. Carpenter (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

SPRING LAKE -- Raymond W. Carpenter, 73, of 108 S. Sixth St. died Wednesday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Arrangemetns will be announced by Adcock Funeral Home.

Agnes M. Britt (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Anges Mandy Britt, 85, of 302 Hollywood Drive died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Britt was a member of East Lumberton Baptist Church.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Floyd Memorial Chapel by the Revs. LeRoy Burke and L.F. Hatchell. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith Cemetery.

Mrs. Britt is survived by two daughters, Norma G. Parker and Marie U. Huggins, both of Lumberton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

Rosa Bell H. Autry (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

CLINTON -- Mrs. Rosa Bell Hall Autry, 86, of 728 Big Piney Grove Road died Wednesday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Butler Funeral Home by the Revs. Robert Compton and Eddie Wetherington. Burial will be in Beaverdam Baptist Church cemetery.

Mrs. Autry is survived by a daughter, Rose M. Norris of Roseboro; a sister, Iris Melvin of Fayetteville; two brothers, Jesse Hall of Roseboro and Alex Hall of Fayetteville; and a grandchild.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Inez L. Allen (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

TAR HEEL -- Mrs. Inez Lewis Allen, 87, of 163 Main St. died Tuesday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Beth Carr Presbyterian Church by Dr. John Ropp and Robert Wilson. Burial will be in the Allen family cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

Mrs. Allen is survived by a son, George W. Allen of Montgomery, Ala.; three daughters, Matilda A. Jones of New Bern, Eliza A. Williams of St. Pauls and Glenda Taylor of Lumberton; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home.

James R. ‘Bob’ Everett Jr. (Dated Thursday, November 4, 1999 )

LAURINBURG -- James Robert ‘‘Bob’’ Everett Jr., 77, of 1703 Lake Drive died Wednesday in his home.

Mr. Everett was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was the former president of the Laurinburg Lions Club. Mr. Everett was a cost accountant for J.P. Stevens.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in St. David’s Episcopal Church by Vicar Jane Bruce. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston. Arrangements are being handled by McDougald Funeral Home and Crematoruim.

Mr. Everett is survived by his wife, Eleanor ‘‘Brownie’’ Everett; a son, Bob Everett of Cary; a daughter, Becky Deatherage of Bryan, Texas; a sister, Julia Manning of Williamston; and five grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the church.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Scotland County, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, N.C. 28353; or to St. David’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 334, Laurinburg, N.C. 28353.

Joan F. Diorio (Dated Sunday, October 10, 1999 )

SEAFORD, N.Y. -- Mrs. Joan Florence Diorio, 74, of Seaford died Saturday in Sampson Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Robert Opperman. Burial will be at a later date in New York.

Among Mrs. Diorio’s survivors is a son, Vincent ‘‘Vince’’ Diorio of Clinton, N.C.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Andrew J. Williamson Jr. (Dated Sunday, October 10, 1999 )

LAKE WACCAMAW -- Andrew Jackson ‘‘Jack’’ Williamson Jr., 79, of 804 Pecan Lane died Friday in Columbus County Hospital in Whiteville.

Mr. Williamson was a member of Lake Waccamaw Baptist Church. He was an Army-Air Force veteran of World War II.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in McKenzie Mortuary chapel by the Rev. John Peverett. Burial will be in Western Prong Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Mary C. Williamson of Lake Waccamaw; two sons, Andrew J. Williamson III and Tyrone C. Williamson, both of Lake Waccamaw; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, P.O. Box 636, Whiteville, N.C.; or to Lake Waccamaw Fire & Rescue Squad.
