LUMBERTON -- Burney Wilkins, 80, of 1409 East St. died Friday in Integrated Health Services.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Floyd Memorial Chapel by the Rev. George Connor. Burial will be in New Hollywood Cemetery.
Mr. Wilkins is survived by his wife, Helen Wilkins; a son, Kenneth Wilkins of Glouchester, Va.; two daughters, Jean Ivey and Geraldine Bland, both of Lumberton; a sister, Clara Mae Atkinson of Wilmington; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.

Bobby Whitfield, 67, of 1536 Strickland Bridge Road, Fayetteville, died Friday in Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
Arrangements will be announced by Wiseman Mortuary.
Shelba J. Sweet (Dated Sunday, October 10, 1999 )
Mrs. Shelba Jean Sweet, 62, of 478 Waterbury Drive, Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Sweet was a member of First Baptist Church. She was president of the Cumberland County Shrinettes and was a member of Spring Lake Chapter No. 333 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Past Worthy Matron.
The funeral with Eastern Star Rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Spring Lake by the Rev. Jason E. Stone. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens in Spring Lake.
Mrs. Sweet is survived by her husband, William E. Sweet of Fayetteville; a daughter, Cindy McGhee of Goldsboro; two sons, Tim Holland and Kenneth Sweet, both of Fayetteville; her mother, Ollie M. Jenkins of Apex; a sister, Elba J. Blankenship of Apex; a brother, Ted Jenkins of Hillsboro; and two granddaughters.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Adcock Funeral Home in Spring Lake.
Alexandra Richardson (Dated Sunday, October 10, 1999 )
WINGATE -- Miss Alexandra Richardson, 6, of 2617 Small Woods Drive died Thursday.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Smyrna Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Among Alexandra’s survivors are her mother, Renata Carter of the home; her father, Don Richardson of Manassas, Va.; and her grandmother, Vivian Locklear of Lumberton.

Frances B. Prevatte (Dated Sunday, October 10, 1999 )
FAIRMONT -- Mrs. Frances Bowers Prevatte, 90, of Fairmont died Friday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
Mrs. Prevatte was a member of First Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Floyd Memorial Cemetery by the Rev. Mark E. Gaskins.
Mrs. Prevatte is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 3 p.m. at Floyd Funeral Services.

John Alan Phillips, 47, of 3410 Regiment Drive, Fayetteville, died Friday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Phillips was a member of Village Baptist Church and the Fayetteville Lions Club. He was a truss sales representative with Pelican Building Supply Co.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Village Baptist Church by Dr. Bruce Martin. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Jane P. Phillips of the home; a daughter, Ashley Phillips of the home; a son, John Phillips of the home; three brothers, Preston Phillips of Kathleen, Ga., and Steve Phillips and Robert Maxwell, both of Raeford; and a sister, Ellen Chavis of Red Springs.

ST. PAULS -- Mrs. Jeris Barrentine Overton, 54, of 3107 N.C. 20 died Friday in Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Mrs. Overton is survived by her husband, Vernon Overton of the home; two daughters, Joy Futrell and Teri Beard, both of St. Pauls; a son, Michael Overton of St. Pauls; two brothers, Eugene Barrentine of Yakima, Wash., and C.W. Barrentine of St. Pauls; four sisters, Shirley Fogle of Charleston, S.C., Diane Mitchell of Carthage, Judy Bullock of Lumberton and Lynette Fields of Columbia, S.C.; and three grandchildren.

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Louise Musselwhite Mercer, 83, of 4655 Regan Road died Saturday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Mercer was a member of Regan United Methodist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Regan United Methodist Church by the Revs. Stan G. Smith and Charles Mercer. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.
Mrs. Mercer is survived by her husband, Edwin Mercer of the home; a son, Miles Mercer; two daughters, Nancy Martin of Fayetteville and Susan Williams of Lumberton; three brothers, O.P. Musselwhite Jr. and Craven Musselwhite, both of Lumberton, and Douglas Musselwhite of St. Pauls; three sisters, Carolyn West of Whispering Pines, Vada Dowless of Lumberton and Elsie King of St. Pauls; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church fellowship hall.

LOUISBURG -- Mrs. Bonnie Woodell King, 76, of 924 Raymond Tharrington Road, formerly of Hope Mills, died Saturday in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Mrs. King was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She was a retired beautician.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hamilton-Porter Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Garry Ballance. Burial will be in Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. King is survived by a daughter, Marie Pepi of Waco, Texas; a stepdaughter, Carol Nunnery of Gray’s Creek; two stepsons, Ernest W. King Sr. of Gray’s Creek and Oscar T. King Jr. of Hope Mills; a sister, Norma Williamson of Louisburg; four grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

LEXINGTON, S.C. -- Mrs. Missouri Burke Hyatt, 87, of Lexington, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Friday.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Rogers Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Rogers Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hyatt is survived by a daughter, Goldie H. Orphal of Bennettsville; and a grandson.

LAURINBURG -- Mrs. Ethel Wicker Hunt, 92, of Laurinburg, formerly of Red Springs, died Wednesday in Edwin Morgan Center.
Mrs. Hunt was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Red Springs.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Crumpler Funeral Home chapel in Red Springs by the Revs. Don Ballenger and Paul Jones. Burial will be in Alloway Cemetery.
Mrs. Hunt is survived by two sons, Sim Hunt of Red Springs and John C. Hunt Jr. of Naples, Fla.; a brother, Lewis W. Fry of Fayetteville; a sister, Katie Cleaver of Pinehurst; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
