Mrs. Lettie W. Anderson (dated Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997)
DUNN -- Mrs. Lettie Wilkes Anderson, 92, of Dunn died Sunday in Betsy Johnson Memorial Hospital.
She retired from Erwin Mills and was a member of Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Jessie Fulcher. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by two brothers, Herman Wilkes of Newton Grove and Floyd Wilkes of Roseboro; a sister, Ludie W. Turner of Spiveys Corner; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
John L. Smith (dated Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997)
ST. PAULS -- John Leroy Smith, 57, of 1052 Great Marsh Church Road died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
He was a retired insurance manager.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in McNeill Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Hal Stevens. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Thelma Faircloth of St. Pauls; four sisters, Joyce Britt, Peggy Smith and Anne Edge, all of St. Pauls, and Ms. Dean Bailey of Millport, Ala.; and two brothers, David Smith of St. Pauls and William Smith of Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Frank R. Moore (dated Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997)
LUMBER BRIDGE -- The Rev. Frank Ravorn Moore, 68, of 117 E. Main St. died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
He was a retired minister with the North Carolina Pentecostal Conference.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Pentecostal Holiness Church in St. Pauls by the Revs. Ray Faircloth, T.E. Long and Ralph Lambert. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in St. Pauls.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Mary W. Moore of the home; three daughters, Sue Lupo of Lumber Bridge, and Mrs. Lou Smith and Mrs. Frankie Gray, both of Laurinburg; two brothers, Earl Moore of Greenville and Snodie Moore of Ayden; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McNeill Funeral Home in St. Pauls and at other times at 121 East Main St.

RED SPRINGS -- Mrs. Belle McPhatter of Westgate Terrace died Monday in North Carolina Cancer Institute of Lumberton.

LUMBERTON -- Mrs. Mary Grace Spillers Leggett, 68, of Old Whiteville Road died Sunday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in East Lumberton Baptist Church by the Rev. Leroy Burke. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Floyd Mortuary & Crematory.
Mrs. Leggett is survived by her husband, William B. Leggett of the home; two sons, William Carroll and Danny Leggett, both of Lumberton; a daughter, Catherine Urich of Cummings, Ga.; a foster daughter, Gladys Craig of Newport News, Va.; two sisters, Doris West and Mildred Rozier, both of Lumberton; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Ruth B. McGaugh (dated Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997)
CHADBOURN -- Mrs. Ruth Britt McGaugh, 64, of Chadbourn-Clarendon Road died Saturday in Columbus County Hospital in Whiteville.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Floyd Mortuary & Crematory chapel by the Revs. Charlie Cox and James Blackwell.
Mrs. McGaugh is survived by a son, Larry Carter of Lumberton; a daughter, Mary R. Carter of Chadbourn; her mother, Frances Britt of Lumberton; five brothers, Robert Britt of Dillon, S.C., Thomas Britt of Lumberton, William Britt and Curtis Britt, both of Welcome, and Douglas Britt of Parkton; four sisters, Annie N. Britt, Christine Easter, Louise Richardson and Sadie Lawson, all of Lumberton; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

LUMBERTON -- Ms. Annie Mae Carter, 57, of Walnut Street died Sunday in her home.

ROBBINS -- Mrs. Dorothy Tillman Sessoms, 70, of 2943 River Road died Monday in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Sessoms is survived by two daughters, Barbara Seawell of Carthage and Dorothy S. Craven of High Falls; four sons, Robert Sessoms Jr. of Wilson, Rickey Sessoms of Ramseur, Alan Sessoms of High Falls and Jimmy Sessoms of Charlotte; her mother, Nora Tillman of High Falls; two sisters, Jean Carter of High Falls and Patsy Schoor of Bellevue, Wash.; three brothers, Robert Tillman of San Diego, Chester Tillman of Houston and George Tillman of Staley; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

ROWLAND -- Ms. Missouri Spaulding, 87, of 426 Kagsville Drive died Monday in Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
She was a retired school teacher for Robeson county schools.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ashpole Center United Methodist Church by the Revs. George L. Locklear and Bill J. Locklear. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Ms. Spaulding is survived by a brother, Stanton Spaulding of Pembroke; and three sisters, Mary A. Hunt and Nevelyn Smith, both of Fairmont, and Sally A. Bullard of Lumberton.

BOLTON -- Amos Cummings, 68, of 522 Jacobs Loop Road died Monday in New Hanover Regional Medical center in Wilmington.

Mr. Cummings is survived by his wife, Hildreth G. Freeman of Bolton; four sons, Seth Cummings, Willie Cummings, Anthony Cummings and Bobby Cummings, all of Bolton; four daughters, Leslie Oxendine, Bertneta Fugueroa, Renee Jacobs and Tina M. Sherrod, all of Bolton; five brothers, David Cummings of Pembroke, James Cummings of Maxton, Ervin Cummings of Apex, Levi Cummings of Freemont and Monroe Cummings of Goldsboro; two sisters, Annie R. Bell of Suffolk, Va., and Nora L. Hollands of Goldsboro; and 15 grandchildren.

WILLARD -- Mrs. Ethel Vann, 85, of 1530 Buckhorn Road died Monday in Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

Mrs. Lillian B. Bass (dated Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997)
CLINTON -- Mrs. Lillian Thelma Boyette Bass, 88, of Bradshaw Road died Monday.
Mrs. Bass was a homemaker. She was a member of Carr Memorial Christian Church where she taught Sunday school.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Carr Memorial Christian Church by the Rev. Bob Opperson. Burial will be in the Bass family cemetery.
Mrs. Bass is survived by four daughters, Mattie B. Sumner and Dorothy F. Bass, both of Newton Grove, Velva B. Little of Fayetteville and Karen B. Satterfield of Clinton; a son, Haywood Bass of Clinton; two sisters, Lellon Monaghan and Goldie Britt, both of Newton Grove; a brother, Dennis Boyette of Dunn; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Thomas ‘Jimmy’ Keller (dated Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997)
CERRO GORDO -- Thomas H. “Jimmy” Keller, 78, of 1791 Cedar Grove Road died Sunday in Columbus County Hospital in Whiteville.
He was a veteran of World War II.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Cerro Gordo Baptist Church by the Revs. C.C. Baker and Elmore Strickland. Burial will be in Piney Forest Baptist Church cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
Mr. Keller is survived by his wife, Alice W. Keller; two daughters, Anna K. Davis of Morehead City and Carolyn K. Bullard of Chadbourn; a sister, Helen Holloman of Shelbyville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
Scott Jackson (dated Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997)
Scott Jackson, 17, of 524 Waterbury Drive, Fayetteville, died Saturday in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was a student at New Hope Christian Academy.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in New Hope Baptist Church by the Revs. Carl Rehrer and Harold Bridges. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.
Scott is survived by his parents, David and Sharon Jackson of Fayetteville; three brothers, Randy Johns, D.J. Johns and Mike Johns, all of Fayetteville; a sister, Patricia J. Schoon of Fairbanks, Alaska; his paternal grandmother, Bertha Jackson of Fayetteville; and his maternal grandparents, Herbert and Marjorie Vonderembse of Sun City Center, Fla.
