McGinnis, Sara Cooksey
KINGS MOUNTAIN -- Sara Cooksey McGinnis, age 76, resident of 907 Sherwood Lane, died May 3, 2001 at the Harris Hospice Unit at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC. She was a native of Mecklenburg County, NC, and daughter of the late Oliver Lecil and Dreddie Robinson Cooksey; and wife of the late Donald Harris McGinnis. She was also preceded in death by brother Lonnie B. Mann, Jr. She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, Kings Mountain and was a homemaker.
Survivors are her son Kevin L. McGinnis of Kings Mountain, and cousin, Virginia Festerman of Cornelius, NC.
funeral service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, May 5, 2001 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Rev. Ken Gillikin officiating. Interment will be at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm Friday night, May 4, 2001 at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain.

PONCHATOULA, LA -- Mr. Robert Louis Cook, 83, died May 2, 2001 at North Oaks Medical Center.
Graveside services on Friday, May 4, 2001 at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge, LA at 1 PM. Interment will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mr. Cook was a retired auto parts salesman.
Surviving are his daughter & son-in-law, Margaretta "Hannah" Cook Howard and James E. Howard, Ponchatoula; and two grandchildren, James Robert Howard, Lubbock, TX, and Jeffrey Todd Howard, Albany.
Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Marze Cook and parents, Louis and Margaretta Eberhardt Cook.

Lowry, James P.
CHARLOTTE -- Mr. James P. Lowry, 75, of Dean Street, Charlotte, died April 28, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital.
funeral service is noon Saturday, May 5, 2001, at First Mayfield Memorial Baptist Church, with Reverend Dr. Paul Drummon officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Chester, SC. The family will receive friends from 11 am until noon Saturday at the church.
Born in Chester County, SC, Mr. Lowry had retired in 1989 from his position as a crankshaft specialist with American Crankshaft Co. He was educated in the South Carolina Public School system, and attended Carver College. Mr. Lowry served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of First Mayfield Baptist Church, and was an active member of the Paul Droyton Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Lowry is survived by his wife, Irene Neal Lowry of Charlotte; three sisters, Mary Griffin of Wilmington, NC, Ella Bell Marshall (Joseph Lee) of Baltimore, MD, and Elfredia Thompson (David) of Charlotte; one daughter-in-law, Eunice Brier of Charlotte; and one son, James Edward Fee of Charlotte.

McDonald, Samella Watson
Mrs. Samella Watson McDonald, 85, of 1708 Newland Road, Charlotte, died on Sunday, April 29, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church, Rev. Matthews, officiating Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden. Visitation will be Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. McDonald was born in Bamberg, S.C. and she attended school in Bamberg, S.C. for 12 years. She attended St. Luke Baptist Church for 30 years, worked faithfully on the Pastor's Aide Board and sang with the Senior Choir.
Survivors are daughters, Ms. Arabella Ingram, Mrs. Rosa Mae Howard, Mrs. Deborah Williams, Ms. Altavia Craig, and Mrs. Constance Boyd; and sons, Arthur J. McDonald, Harry McDonald, Jr., and Frank McDonald, Sr., all of Charlotte, N.C.

She is survived by her husband, William Sadler; one son, William A. Sadler; one daughter, Minister Lavonne Sadler; two sisters, Sharon B. Blanks (Sidney), and Rose B. Johnson (Tracy), all of Charlotte; two brothers, Rev. Samuel H. Barber, Jr. (JoAnn), and William A. Barber (Dena), both of Gastonia; as well as six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

LINCOLNTON -- Mrs. Evelyn Margaret Cashion, 85, of Cardinal Care and formerly of Boger City, died Tuesday, May 2, 2001.
A graveside service will be 11am Saturday at Hollybrook Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cashion was born on August 13, 1915 in Lincoln County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Margaret Boggs Coleman. She was a retired sales associate of Woodward and Lothrop Department Store in Washington, DC.
Survivors include one brother, Henry and wife Esther Cashion of Falls Church, Virginia; a sister-in-law, Sue Cashion of Boger City; nieces and nephews, Kate and Bob Johnson, Ann and Graham Sharpe, June and Steve McCormick, Coleman and Sandy Cashion.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boger City United Methodist Church, 2320 East Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Mr. Riley was born in Marlboro County, a son of the late Rev. C.J. and Maggie Butler Riley. He was a retired employee of Ina Bearing Co. Mr. Riley was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Griggs Riley, of the home; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Linda Riley, and Rex and Debbie Riley, all of Cheraw, SC, and Joey and Donna Riley of Lancaster, SC; 1 daughter, Debbie Riley of the home; 1 sister, Dorothy Outen of Pageland, SC; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
