Boheler, Dennie Charles

CLOVER -- Mr. Dennie Charles Boheler, 49, of 2750 Boheler Road, died May 29, 2001 at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

funeral service is 11 AM Thursday, May 31, at M. L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home of Clover, conducted by the Reverend Will Brown. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM tonight at M. L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home.

Mr. Boheler was a native of York County, born on March 6, 1952. He was a son of the late Howard Henry Boheler and the late Ora lee Brakefield Boheler.

Survivors include his wife, Lonie Dover Boheler, of York; two daughters, Denise B. White and Kelly Boheler, both of Clover; three brothers, Ronnie Boheler of Blacksburg, and Roger and Wayne Boheler, both of Clover; one sister, Gaye B. Smith of Clover; and one grandson, Steve White of Clover.

Dunn, Thomas Augustus

MOUNT HOLLY -- Mr. Thomas Augustus Dunn, Jr., 79, of 207 Norton Road, died May 27, 2001 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Gaston County, son of the late Thomas A. Dunn, Sr., and Louise Hollis Dunn, served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Tech Sergeant with the 262nd Military Police stationed at Attu, Aleutian Islands. Mr. Dunn was a boxer since the age of 14, and won three Golden Glove Awards before serving in the Army. During his military service, he was undefeated after 25 fights. Following his discharge, Mr. Dunn returned to Mount Holly and graduated from Belmont Abbey College. For many years Mr. Dunn was a boxing coach and referee with the Golden Gloves for children program. Mr. Dunn served for 18 years on the Mount Holly City Council, and was Mayor pro-tem for one term, and was instrumental in the building of the Highway 273 railroad underpass and the present water treatment plant. Mr. Dunn was retired credit manager for Tarheel Ford Trucks in Charlotte, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mount Holly, where he served as an usher and was on numerous church boards, was a member of the American Legion Post #152, and the Mount Holly Jaycees. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Flowe Dunn.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn Greason Dunn; a son, Richard (Dicky) Dunn and his wife Christal, of Asheville; a daughter, Mary Lou Hogan and her husband Tommy, of Stanley; a stepson, Todd E. Slawter and his wife Susan, of Raleigh; two stepdaughters, Tamara Baird and her husband Allen, of Lenoir, and Teresa Stroup and her husband Richard, of Concord; a brother, Hollis Dunn of Mount Holly; two sisters, Louise McMullen of Ft. Worth, TX, and Josephine Dunn of Charlotte; and grandchildren Matthew and Kelly Dunn, Amber and Taylor Hogan, R. J. Stroup, and Cameron and Carson Slawter.

Funeral services conducted by the Reverend Mitchell Murrow will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, May 30, at the First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Gardens. The family will received friends at Woodlawn Funeral Home Tuesday evening.

Reid, Rosa L.

Mrs. Rosa L. Reid, of Charlotte, died May 25, 2001 at the Brian Center.

Mrs. Reid is survived by two sons, Donald E. Reid and Michael R. Reid; two daughters, Michelle R. Reid and Elizabeth R. Reid; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; and her brothers and sisters.

Green, Ronald Cornelius

GROVER -- Mr. Ronald Cornelius Green, 48, of 124 Brenda Ct., died May 27, 2001 at Carolina Medical Center.

funeral service is 2 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at Allen Memorial Baptist Church, with Reverend Tim Lowry officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Acting as pallbearers will be Barry Martin Collins, Bobby Dean Collins, Luther Douglas Collins, Billy Green, Dennis Powell and Nelson Powell. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM tonight, May 29, at Greene funeral service Westside Chapel.

Mr. Green was a native of Gaston County, born on January 2, 1953. He was retired from American and Efird, Inc. of Gastonia, and was a member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church in Grover. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Grace Bradley Green.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Donna Collins Green of Grover; daughter, Lori Green Naylor of Blacksburg, SC; stepdaughter, Kimberly Burkett of Shelby; stepson, John Albert Burkett, Jr. of Germany; brother, Kenneth Roger Green of Clover, SC; and grandson, Ben Matthew Naylor.

Boyles, Amy Bailey

GASTONIA -- Amy Bailey Boyles, 91, died May 25, 2001. She was born in Polk County, GA, the daughter of the late Warren Bailey and Ella Roberts. She was retired from Firestone and Ragan Mills. She was the wife of the late Gordon Womack. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Patsy and Tony Ware of Buda, TX, Betty and Lane Austin of Kernersville, NC, and Fran Maples of Gastonia; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Phyllis Womack of Gastonia; sister, Atha Day of Cedartown, GA; brother, Hoyt Bailey of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters, Datha Taylor, Evie McCray, Maline Hosmer, Alma Sanders, Lilly Mae Smith, and Grace Bailey; brothers, John, Alvin, Dock, Billy Bailey; grandchildren, Linda Wallace, Lee Womack, and Michael Elders.

Funeral is 11 a.m., May 29, 2001 at Ward Funeral Home. Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Peine, Dennis Virgil

PAGELAND -- Dennis Virgil Peine, 93, of Pageland, SC, previously of Tonganoxie, Kansas, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at Carrington Place, Matthews, NC. Born in Paola, Kansas, he was the son of the late Richard R. and Thenia Ann Peine. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Selma Schultze Peine in 1984. He was a gracious and loving father to two sons, Richard P. Peine of Lawrence, Kansas and Dennis E. Peine of Monroe, NC. In addition, he is survived by four grandchildren, Rayna Blackmon of Charlotte, NC, Christina Hill of Festus, Missouri, Denise Spainhower and Richard R. Peine of Lawrence, Kansas, eight great grandchildren, two nieces and three nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Pageland, SC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.

Chandler, Erica Macy

CARROLLTON, GA. -- Little Miss Erica Macy Chandler, age 4, of 105 Cedar Street, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2001 in Polk County as the result of an accident. She was born in Carroll County on June 12, 1996, the daughter of Wesley Ray Chandler and Tonya Renee Chandler. She was a student at King's Way Christian School.

Besides her parents, she is survived by maternal grandparents, Dan and Barbara Currin of Tallapoosa; paternal grandparents, Donny and Vickie Chandler of Villa Rica; maternal grandmother, Jeannie Teague of Barnesville, SC; maternal great-grandmother, Annie Currin of Bremen; paternal great-grandparents, Raymond and Carolyn Chandler of Tallappoosa; maternal great great grandmother, Mary Fallaw of Williston, SC; and one sister, Mercedes Chandler of Carrollton.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at 3 PM from West Carrollton Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Agan officiating. Pallbearers will be Dale Steele, Kevin Iosty, Heath Johnson, Rodney Casteel, Patrick Paterson, and Tracy Sanders. Interment will follow in Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa.

Parham, Neva Jo

GASTONIA -- Neva Jo Parham, 50, of 2326 Ambercrest Drive, Gastonia, died May 28, 2001 at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Nathan Luther and Martha Geneva Sneed Black. She was a senior clerk with Western Auto Distribution Center, Gastonia, where she worked for over 33 years. She was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia, and South Fork #184 Order of the Eastern Star, where she was the conductress.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Bonnie H. Parham of Clover, SC; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda P. and Richard Spry of Lowell; a sister, Shelby Jean Bailey of Gastonia; five grandchildren, Richalin Spry of Lowell, Sandra Spry of Myrtle Beach, SC, Brittany, Katie and Taylor Jo Parham of Clover, SC; and a great grandson, Jacob Helms of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Funeral will be conducted by the Reverends Jeff Ward, Robert Thompson and Kevin Ford at 2 PM Wednesday at McLean Funeral Directors Founders Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont. Pallbearers will be Harold Peacock, David Mayberry, Danny Owens, David Cooke, David Lancaster, Lanny Owens and Charlie Shephard. The family will received friends Tuesday evening at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.

Cox, Katherine Paul

PATRICK -- Mrs. Katherine Paul Cox, 80, died Monday, May 28, 2001.

Mrs. Cox was born in McColl, SC, a daughter of the late Cleave and Mabel Jeanette Prescott Paul. She was a homemaker and a member of Palmetto Baptist church. Mrs. Cox was first married to the late Reid Whittington and then to the late Leo Cox. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Lee Whittington, a grandchild, Brandon Royer, and a sister, Mary Long.

Survivors include three sons, Reid Whittington and his wife, Linda, of Cheraw, SC, Ronnie Whittington and his wife, Melissa, of Rockingham, NC, and David Whittington and his wife, Doris, of Springfield, IL; five daughters, Alice Harrelson and her husband Kermit of Asheboro, NC, Barbara Funderburke and her husband Robert, and Sue Southard and her husband, Jerry, of Patrick, SC, Janette Chappell and her husband, Gene, of Ellerbe, NC, and Mary Shepard and her husband, Odell, of Rockingham, NC; three sisters, Margaret Grant of Rockingham, NC, Janette James of White Hill, MI, and Carolyn Chavis of Elizabeth Town, NC; as well as 31 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Wilding, Lynn Ray

Mr. Lynn Ray Wilding, 55, died May 26, 2001.

Born August 23, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA, Mr. Wilding was a graduate of Western Beaver High School in Industry, PA and furthered his education at Waynesburg Collee and the University of Pittsburgh. He was employed with Westinghouse since 1966 and was transferred to Charlotte in 1988.

Mr. Wilding's hobbies included woodworking and gardening. He was also especially fond of his dogs, Barney, Duke, & Watson.

Mr. Wilding is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lorraine Traylor Wilding; two daughters, Sandy Depew and her husband, Ron, of Pittsburgh, PA, and Debbie Grundman and her husband, Dan, of Huntersville, NC; and three granddaughters, Samantha, Sarah, and Lindsey Depew.

He is also survived by his parents, Ray and Virginia David Wilding of Garden City, SC; a sister, Sheryl Craven and her husband, Mark, of Connellsville, PA; two brothers, Mark Wilding and his wife, Karen, of Boulder, CO, and Bruce Wilding and his wife, Zosia, of Berwyn, IL; and Lorraine's parents, Winston C. and Lucille M. Aeschbacher Traylor, of Beaver, PA.

Mr. Wilding's family will receive friends from 12-2 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at Hankins & Whittington Dilworth Chapel. funeral service for Mr. Wilding will be held Thursday, May 31 at 12 noon in the Chapel of J.T. Anderson & Son Funeral Home.

Hubbard, Bertha Lee Grigg

LINCOLNTON -- Mrs. Bertha Lee Grigg Hubbard, age 73, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton and formerly of 4521 Orchard Road in Iron Station died Saturday, May 26, 2001. Her funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Pearl Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Wensil officiating. Her body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Monday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hubbard was born in Lincoln County and was the daughter of the late Abraham L. and Carrie Saunders Grigg. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Charlie Richard Hubbard. Mrs. Hubbard was a retired cafeteria worker at G.E. Massey School in Lincolnton.

Mrs. Hubbard is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Noland Wilcox and husband Butch Wilcox of Iron Station, Gail H. Cloninger and husband Greg Cloninger of Bessemer City, Carla H. Goodson and husband Keith Goodson of Maiden; one brother, Frank Grigg of Iron Station; two sisters, Flossie Whitworth of Iron Station and Nell Nantz of Iron Station.

McKenzie, Claudia Jean

Mrs. Claudia Jean McKenzie, 46, of Charlotte, died Sunday, May 27, 2001 at Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Thursday at St. John Neumann. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road, Charlotte.

Claudia was born on January 6, 1955 in Toledo, OH. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cannaday, and was a graduate of Garinger High School (Class of '73). She worked in the insurance industry for 25 years. Claudia was a loving wife and mother of two, and the loving grandmother of Summer Michelle Griffin of Indian Trail. She loved spending time with and taking care of her precious grandchild.

Mrs. Claudia McKenzie is survived by her husband of 24 years, Douglas McKenzie; her son, Kevin McKenzie and his fiancee Lindsay Jordan; her daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Jason Griffin; her grandchild, Summer Michelle Griffin; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cannaday; her brother, Craig Cannaday; her brother and sister-in-law, Curt and Beverly Cannaday and their children Clint and Cody Cannaday.

The family would like to personally thank Beverly Cannaday for all her support during this time of need.
