Louise Varner Bobo, 74, of Climax died Tuesday (11-28-2006) at Randolph Hospital.
Graveside service will be held at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Shook officiating.
She was a native of Randolph County and retired from Jockey International.
Survivors include a brother, Larry Lineberry of Siler City; and sister, Rita Jones of Franklinville.

ELSIE DOLORIS RITTENBAUGH JOHNSON
Elsie Rittenbaugh Johnson, 74, of Siler City died Wednesday, (11-29-2006) at Chatham Hospital.
Burial is scheduled for Morris Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Chester County, PA, former resident of Phoenixville, PA, and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, James Arthur Johnson of Siler City; son, Joseph Johnson, Siler City; brother, Samuel Rittenbaugh; and sister, Sarah Etzler.
JOHN TEUNIS VERGEER
The memorial service for Mr. John Teunis Vergeer will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, (12-09-2006) at University Presbyterian Church in Chapel Hill, with Rev. Robert Dunham officiating.

EDDIE LONDON COOPER
Mr. Eddie London Cooper, 88, of Sugar Grove died Saturday, (12-02-2006) at Watauga Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel in Boone, with Rev. James D. Hagman officiating. Graveside services were held at 11 p.m. Monday at the Dow Ward Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Carlene Willis Glenn Cooper; sons, Eddie Cooper, Jr. of Siler City, Charles A. Cooper of Pittsboro; stepsons, Dale Norris of Greensboro, Bobby Norris of Madison, Randy Norris of Ft. Myers, FL; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grand-children, six step-grand-children, and five step-great grandchildren.

ARTHUR “JULIAN” KIDD
Arthur “Julian” Kidd, 72, of Bennett died Sunday, (12-03-2006) at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, (12-05-2006) at Beulah Baptist Church, with Rev. Stacey Layne and Rev. Robert L. Kidd officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Kidd was a native of Moore County and retired by Selig Manufacturing Company in Siler City. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Senior Men’s Sunday school class.
Survivors include his wife, Treva Jones Kidd of the home; daughter, Debbie Kidd Purvis of Robbins; son, Dale Kidd of Sanford; and seven grandchildren.
EMMANUELE “Bill” GRANIERI
Emmanuele “Bill” Granieri, 89, of Pittsboro, died Monday, (12-04-2006) at his residence.
Mr. Granieri was a native of Brooklyn, NY, and served in the Italian Army. He was a retired yardman in the lumber business.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Sivo Granieri of Pittsboro; and a brother, Domenico Granieri of Italy.
No services are planned at this time.
J. RAY PHILLIPS
Mr. J. Ray Phillips of Burlington died at Alamance Healthcare Center on Monday, December 4, 2006.
A native of Chatham County, he was the husband of Faye Whitesell Phillips who survives and the son of Rev. Grover Cleveland Phillips and Mary Missouri Myrick Phillips, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II, a retired welder and pipe-fitter, and a member of the United Association of Journeymen of the Plumbers and Pipe-fitters Local #421 based in Charleston, S.C. He was a member of Faith Bible Chapel.
In addition to the wife of the home, survivors include three sisters, Miss Sarah Phillips, Mrs. Thelma Branson, both of Bennett, Mrs. Alma Garner of Ramseur; one brother, Mr. Howard Phillips of Asheboro; one granddaughter, Diana Phillips of Mebane; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mark Robertson. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Mortuary on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

SAMUEL EUGENE "SAMMY" LINDLEY
Samuel Eugene "Sammy" Lindley, 54, 192 Sheep Rock Road, Snow Camp died Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Hospice Home of Burlington.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Center United Methodist Church, 9204 Center Church Road, Snow Camp, with Rev. John Varden officiating.
Mr. Lindley was a native of Chatham County and a member of Center United Methodist Church. He was an Air Force and Army Veteran and worked as a dairy farmer. He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Andrew Lindley.
Survivors include his wife, Alicia Martin Lindley; daughters, Amanda Lindley of the home, Samantha L. Oldham and husband, Kevin of Germany, Tasia Nichols of Montana; sons, J. B. Lindley, Ricky Lindley, both of the home; mother, Peggy Lewis Lindley of Snow Camp; sisters, Janice Lindley, Ann Campbell and husband, James. E., both of Snow Camp; niece, Casey Campbell; nephew, Matt Campbell, both of Snow Camp.
Visitation will be immediately after the service, Saturday, December 9, 2006 in the church fellowship hall. At other times, the family will be at the family home.

DEE OLIVER HERRICK

Dee Oliver Herrick, 81, of Siler City, died November 30, 2006.
Survivors include former wife and friend, Elaine Pelky; children, Christy Herrick and husband James Siatsis of Mankato, MN, Rebecca Hegarty and husband David of Quincy, MA, James Herrick and wife, Jennie of Raleigh; stepsons, Gary Weaver and wife Vickie of Madison, Robert Pelky and wife Tonya of Climax, and Richard Pelky of Siler City; three grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
He was born in 1925 in Fort Smith AK, and received his engineering degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He was a WW II veteran having served in Germany. Upon his return, he moved to the east coast and worked as a sovent engineer. In the 70’s he moved to North Carolina and started his own company. He loved dogs, reading mystery novels and watching scary movies. He was world famous for his tuna fish, fudge and BBQ. He will be greatly missed.

FAY WHITAKER MOORE
Fay Whitaker Moore, 76, of 7236 Hwy. 87 North, Pittsboro, died Wednesday (12-19-2001) in SunBridge Nursing Home in Siler City.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday (12-22-2001) in Browns Chapel United Church of Christ with Rev. Ray Gooch officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
A good cook, Mrs. Moore enjoyed reading and gardening.
She is survived by her son, Gary Whitaker of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and a sister, Frances Lindley of Siler City.

CLARK S. NORMAN JR.
Clark Speight Norman Jr., 85, or Norfolk, Virginia, died Sunday (12-9-2001).
Graveside services with Masonic rites were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday (12-12-2001) at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Herbert T. Williams officiating.
A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Mr. Norman was a Master Mason of Virginia Beach Lodge No. 274 AF&AM and a member of Little Creek Christian Church. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and retired as head lineman with Bell Telephone after 41 years of service. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America N. 2202.
He is survived by his wife, Christeen Ivey Norman; daughter, Patricia Spearman of Virginia Beach; son, Robert Norman of Herndon, Virginia; brother, George F. Norman; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
JAMES E. COX
James Edwin Cox, 79, of 4510 Old Coleridge Road, Siler City, died Wednesday (5-22-2002) at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday (5-25-2002) at Concord United Methodist Church with Rev. Vonnie Vredenburg officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
A native of Randolph County, Mr. Cox was a retired Personnel Director with Mid State Farms, a Navy veteran, a member of the Marietta Lodge #444. He was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Clarice Craven Cox; sons, Philip Cox of Siler City, Jim Cox of Bennett, and Dwayne Cox of Cary; daughter, Nancy Lou Cox Frye of Carthage; sisters, Rebecca Cox Prickett of Asheboro and Ruby Cox Garner of Franklinville; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

MARY B. KIDD
Mary Brady Kidd, 89, of 424 NC Hwy. 22, Bennett, died Thursday (5-23-2002) at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday (5-26-2002) at Community Friends Church in Carthage, where she was a member, with Rev. James Brewer, Rev. Bob Marsh and Rev. Robert L. Kidd officiating. Burial followed in Prosperity Friends Meeting Cemetery, High Falls.
Mrs. Kidd was a graduate of Clio High School, Clio, SC, and a 1934 graduate of Flora McDonald College, Red Springs, and taught in the Moore County School System for forty years. She served as an Elder in her church and was Treasurer for fourteen years.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn K. Rimmer of the home; two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
